The "issue" with the new tyres are that they have harder walls, so sometimes a crew only sees a tyre is cooked when they are on a road section, while the soft walled pirellis bursted.
Thierry had at least 1 or 2 tyre failure only noticed on the road section. Which ofc wont make you lose 40-60seconds but that means you either have to put back a worse tire on the car or have to tip toe drive carefully on stages before the service bc you have no spares left, so it is still 10 or more seconds lost

Toyota is the one who absolutely maxed out the system they built as much chassis as you are allowed so they have the biggest pool of engines per driver (iirc you can have 3 chassis per driver and 3 engine per chassis so if you build 3 cars for a driver you can have 9 engines)
