FIFA actually plays a big role in the region and world politics. The last couple of WCs were not just about filling their own pockets but also a shitload of politics involved. Russia, Qatar, USA, Spain/Portugal/Morocco with games in SA and Saudi Arabia all this shit went along with a lot of politics and backroom deals.
