I'd say Brady got really likeable when he left New England. People got to see him open up more and be a bit more human, plus he ascended to true GOAThood when he won that ring down in Tampa and it was fun to watch. If you're still young and wet behind the ears and you seek father figures, maybe you're disappointed that Bill is a complex human being, not some kind of heroic uberman. If you're a bit older and have gone through that whole journey of developing yourself to the point that you're now more likely to be the father figure yourself than to seek one, you're happy for Bill. You're happy that he's spending his old age doing wild silly things rather than trying to turn himself into some kind of fossilized statue that displays and image of epic success and power for posterity. And that's even if you think he's making a mistake by dating her.
