What does it feel like to have the most obnoxious football club in the world as your local rival and then losing to them?

Are you talking about the current season? If so, what are you talking about? They are performing better than their results imply and are above the cut as of now, which is the main goal. And they are still in the cup
They will have to fight hard to stay in the league. But by now, everyone with a brain knows they can do it. A few weeks ago, many people pretended they would finish last with 10 points in total. These people were already proven wrong, the team clearly is competitive and can stay in the league
If anything, the club is currently recovering after like 15 years of total garbage

they never recovered from 7 years in 2. BuLi and the transfers they did in the summer were not great either. let Selke go, got Poulsen whose mostly injured on huge wages, got Vieira who is a hothead and their coach seems out of his depth.
their upcoming fixture is even worse, they play BVB next, Augsburg, Stuttgart, Bremen, Hoffenheim...
although they might get to quarters or semis in DFB cup, so far they had an easy run and play 2. BuLi team Kiel next, so atleast that's something the fans have to look forward to.

Getting rid of him was okay given that he demanded a higher wage and doesn’t fit the football HSV has to play and wants to play in the league. The system itself works, but it is indeed troublesome that Poulsen is a cripple. Königsdörffer is out of form. So the attack remains a problem, but it’s not because they need Selke
The transfers seem fine. Vuskovic (loan, but still) and Omari were class, Gocholeishvili performed well. Remberg is a real discovery, and Lokonga was a complete steal as of now, he’s excellent if not injured. Capaldo was disappointing as a midfielder, but he has worked as a defender. The transfers were fine and the squad itself is doing okay. Polzin „only“ needs to figure out the attack and maybe buy another striker in winter if Poulsen doesn’t reach full health and Königsdörffer stays cursed
Augsburg for example is nothing HSV has to fear. They will have the opportunity to stay in the league. I think they are doing okay, but they need to mature and stop giving away easy goals and the like. They were clearly superior against Wolfsburg and on even terms with Leipzig, but they ended up with no points. They definitely have the potential to finish 13th or something, and you can’t expect much more from them than 16th as their goal. No need to panic, but they lack the final steps to seal the deal

Poulsen earns what Selke demanded. So pick your poison, but there is no need to pretend Selke would have been so much better and cheaper. Poulsen generally is a massive upgrade for Bundesliga football, if he’s healthy. Glatzel is similar enough to Selke to represent that player type if necessary. The decision was understandable, but Hamburg’s attack remains pretty weak as of now, though Selke definitely isn’t the key.
For being newly promoted, they are doing okay. They were shit the first few games but improved a lot since the win against Heidenheim. If anything, they have underachieved. This may cost them dearly later, but it is also possible they surprise some other teams
Their only goal will be to not got relegated. This is achievable. Nobody expects them to finish Top 10 or something. Heidenheim and Pauli currently definitely look worse than them, for example. Augsburg as well as of now. And Mainz, Wolfsburg, and Gladbach still have to fully step up as well and are not yet guaranteed to finish ahead of them.
If they stay in, they will have succeeded and nobody can complain

Yeah no. If you struggle to score goals (which you do) you will struggle to stay up. And its telling you only name Augsburg as winable out of all the teams I have listed, since that will be only team I can see HSV take points from. Hell, after those matches are over its straight to Frankfurt, Freiburg, Leverkusen. And that would be the first half of the season over...
The only wins HSV got so far were against Mainz (17th) and Heidenheim (18th), only draws were against Gladbach (16th) and Union (10th). HSV is currently 13th out of 18th spots but you stil play against nearly the entire upper table, with the exception of Augsburg.

Any game is winnable, but they are the favorites against Augsburg only. Who says they can’t win against Bremen or Freiburg, for example? It’s not exactly a given, but it’s far from impossible
The transfers are okay for sure. The basis of any newly promoted team is the defense, and that is working okay for the most part. There is still room for improvement up front. They WILL struggle to stay up because they are newly promoted and last in the TV ranking table, they underwent a massive overhaul. The goal is to win that struggle, and that is definitely possible

BVB next, Augsburg, Stuttgart, Bremen, Hoffenheim, Frankfurt, Freiburg, Leverkusen. I can see HSV beating Augsburg and drawing Bremen but thats about it. Simply based on how they played so far, and who they managed to snag points from. That would mean 12 points after half a season.
Sure, anything is possible but the way you talk in this thread makes you sound like staying up is basically a given, and I dont see that, at all. Polzin might be in a hotseat once winter break looms since your next fixture until then, again, is against all the strong teams with exception of Augsburg and Bremen.

The luck of HSV is simple this season there's 8 super shitters competing for any non direct relegation spot. So unless Heidenheim, Mainz and Gladbach stop their super shittynes there's no way for HSV, Pauli or Augsburg to go down as 24 points could be more than enough to stay in.

Your reading comprehension seems way off then. I said „possible“, and anything else is unrealistic. You make it sound like they are already relegated and like they didn’t improve massively since matchday 3, or like they didn’t perform much better than Wolfsburg, for example.
They have many steps to go still, no doubt. Everyone knows that. The thing you should expect them to work on is maturity, the lack of which caused them to lose against Wolfsburg and Leipzig. In terms of quality, they are bound to have one of the weakest squads because, again, they are newly promoted after seven years, but if you tell me that Vuskovic, Remberg, Lokonga etc. are insufficient for the Bundesliga by default, then you evidently haven’t watched a single game
The goal is 15th. That will be tough. Yes, they should be scoring more goals. It helps winning games, or so I have heard. But what the fuck do you expect?
The way they have played against Gladbach, Pauli, and Bayern (hardly counts, everyone looks dumb in Munich), they were prime material for 18th. The lost points there do hurt for sure. But the way they have played since, they have a fighting chance and still room to grow
With a solid defense and a counter-approach, winning a few points against the upper teams is doable. It’s doable for any team. Apart from Bayern and maybe Dortmund, who remain retards, none of the teams have looked untouchable so far. It’s point by point. Stay ahead of two, ideally three, opponents. 32-35 points should suffice already given the last few years

Look at Augsburg, Heidenheim, Pauli, Mainz, and to a lesser degree Gladbach, Union, and Wolfsburg and tell me it is guaranteed that at all of them or all of them but one will finish ahead of HSV. Feel free to base it on the performances you have seen so far. If you have actually seen the games of the teams you seem to analyze with such confidence, you will say that you can’t. That’s what it is about. You can’t expect much more than that.
Performance-wise, HSV are doing decently after a terrible start. They were dumb to leave empty-handed against RBL, WOB, and KÖL. They conceded two easy goals against the first two and failed to keep their composure yesterday when they were pressuring Köln. If they turn this dumbness off, they will stay up. If they find a proper way to utilize a central striker and maintain the entire rest, they will stay up. Nobody knows if they will, but they can. If they don’t, they will likely go down. This is what being new to the league means. It won’t be glorious in any case.
The squad was designed with a clear plan in mind, and that plan evidently has the potential to work. They will have the opportunity to prove it in the coming weeks. Since Bayern, they were at least on par with every opponent. In the end, only points matter, of course - but they aren’t far away and will be considered objectively successful as long as they are above the threshold. It’s up to them to convert
