Solid Suns game. Book created virtually every shot. Sometimes I worry hes looking for the pass too much, like that last play, there was really no reason he needed to stop right outside the restricted area and pass it out, he can hit those middys easy. Must be a coaching directive. To be fair he didnt need to hit many shots this game as role players came in clutch, and hit their shots when passed to.
Book has good instinct for double teams, but his passing itself is still a little sloppy sometimes. He only racked up turnovers basically all in the 4th quarter because he was making tight and risky passes.

Obviously those turnovers dont actually matter that much when not only do you have 9 assists, but theres an unseen number to capture creation. Like when he waits for the double team to come over, passes to Dillon Brooks, who passes to the Royce on the wing for a clean look from 3. That opening only happened because of his read, but secondary assists (when a player immediately passes after receiving the ball) dont count towards assist totals so he doesnt have a trible double even if he should. And a real "trippy dub" since 40% of his rebounds were offensive so he wasnt coasting off of uncontested defensive rebounds.

I have a feeling people will be critical of Dbooks turnovers and mistakes, but they just dont understand ball. Jokic had 14 assists and 8 turnovers. When so much responsibility is on you to create shots (even the ones that dont show up on a box score) and youre a willing passer who looks for the tightest advantage, youre going to rack up turnovers. Magic did it, Lebron did it, Jokic does it. The value of an assist isnt contained in amount of turnovers unless arguably you have more turnovers than assists, but I already explained how advantages can be created without assists, so even thats shaky.
