When I was a child (90s) there were alot of bootleg NHL stuff to buy on the street markets. Somehow there were alot Sharks, Ducks and Blackhawks stuff. I choosed a Blackhawks black denim jacket because I liked the logo and this is the only reason I’m rooting for them since then. Obviously I had luck when showtime Kane played. Moral of the story: listen to your heart

Be aware of the fact that the last time a canadian team won the Stan-lee in 93', it was also the exact same year that the NHL changed its commissioner who's still in charge today. Now some would call that a conspiracy, and some would call it a bit strange that some sweaty sunbelt states like Florida keep winning championships when they can barely keep their ice cool during the playoffs in June and don't ever produce any hockey players in the first place.
I've been auto-cheering for canadian teams since 2004 and it took me a decade to realise that they were actually undergoing a multi-decade humiliation ritual that is still going on today. Just be aware that whenever a sunbelt team goes to shit it's a real grim viewing because nobody in those states REALLY care about hockey. Pick someone from the norf or even better, one of the original six.
