Man, I really wanted to like Millennium. First season was eh, second season was amazing with one of the best finales I've seen, third season chickened out and failed to capitalize on anything that was set up. And by the time they decided to wrap up some of the loose ends in the X-Files (which causes its own clusterfuck of continuity), it was at a point where no one was watching that show either.

It's got a great sense of humor, Darren McGavin is the perfect pick to play this bumbling role, it's got the dark sewers and old house vibes, and the overlaid narration is a nice touch. Chris Carter has stated this show was a big inspiration for the X-Files, you can definitely see it. Absolute must watch for any X-Files fans, almost like an origin story.

Because once you had a winning streak, even across different gambling types, your name would be out there and you'd be on various radars. And you couldn't get people to place the bets for you because then the rumor mill would be that someone is fixing gambling events, and they'd track you down. It's a tough one, trying to figure out how to secretly use foreknowledge without getting caught.
