Man, I really wanted to like Millennium. First season was eh, second season was amazing with one of the best finales I've seen, third season chickened out and failed to capitalize on anything that was set up. And by the time they decided to wrap up some of the loose ends in the X-Files (which causes its own clusterfuck of continuity), it was at a point where no one was watching that show either.

It's got a great sense of humor, Darren McGavin is the perfect pick to play this bumbling role, it's got the dark sewers and old house vibes, and the overlaid narration is a nice touch. Because once you had a winning streak, even across different gambling types, your name would be out there and you'd be on various radars.
