It means that past a certain level, your mage character stops being worried about fights and battles because they're functionaly immortal and invulnerable, and the genre of the game changes from dungeon delving or small / mid-scale adventuring to playing chess with entire factions and nations as your pawns as some sort of pseudogod. For specific example: Mage the Ascension or Mage the Awakening when you reach archmastery status.

Sadly, I need neither magic nor physical attacks to render you less than the rock you aspired to be.

You could attempt to retcon the situation through 'I was already prepared' or apply the 'but I cast', however, those situations have also been countered already, since they were both predictable and obviously useless, since magic is an inferior way to manipulate temporal reality by all measures that matter.

Enjoy your solipsism as you sit there uselessly for your eternity.

In Elden Ring these 2 dudes are unkillable npcs who lore wise are wizards that have ascended into a higher plane of thought, and they give you an ultimate spell each if you interact/do a quest involving them. They don't say or do anything, their only animation is briefly reaching out their hand to give you the spell. For some reason, they're commonly used to start topics on /tg/ about unkillable npcs, overpowered wizards, ect.
In elden ring and most fromsoft games, very few things are unkillable. The only things that are truly undefeatable are not threats, or else are fundamental to existence. Generally the unkillables are associated with the ancient and primordial, and more often than not are friendly and helpful, with a few BIG exceptions. So I find it weird that these easily missable, kinda nothing-by-design characters are used as a catalyst for shitposting when fromsoft games are good at avoiding annoying unkillable npcs.
Or maybe you knew all this and you were asking him what TTRPG system he could be referring to

Diamonds are not invincible. Diamond is not a very strong material, in fact. It isn't even particularly hard except by comparison to how common many softer materials are, like iron. In fact, it's probably better for you to think of hardness as being inversely related to strength. That's not perfectly true, but it's a better guideline than "hurr diamond immune to everything" is.

Stay in school, kids. Don't get your understanding of the world from trashy childrens' cartoons and amateurish video games.

This isn't even true, though. It's highly implied that Sellen used their bodies to create a Graven Mass with herself at the centre so they could all ascend even further into being at one with the primeval current. In the end all of their heretical research was only stepping stones to their spiritual and quite literal successor. Much like the diamonds they became, their evolution was into naught but a resource.
Anonymous No.95735130 >>95735857 >>95792411 >>95855487

Sellen didn't do that. You'd have to be a brain dead idiot to think that's what mistress Sellen would do. She wouldn't have put herself out of commission when she was planning on becoming the next governess of the school, right then and there.

Listen. She only ever incorporated sorcerers who went against the primeval current into graven masses, which is why there are only Olivinus and Lazuli crowns found in graven masses. Not a single Karolos head to be seen. She wouldn't have shoved herself in with a bunch of sorcerers she didn't approve of. It's clear she used sorcerers who went against the primeval current as test subjects. The Olivinus went against their primeval founder. The Karolos did not. It is likely the Karolos are involved in graven experiments.

Graven masses are explicitly artificial mad science experiments, and not something that just happens or progresses naturally, like glintstone crystallization, which is a form of silicon life/cancer. Her magnum opus of a ball would have been a lot nicer than that.

We don't actually know what she did with Azur or Lusat. We only know she took their glintstone essences the same way you took her glintstone essence. It's how glintstone sorcerers pass along themselves. I imagine it's quite intimate.

But the point remains. There is more to suggest someone did it to her. She didn't do it to herself.

Aspiring mages seek out these diamond masters for tutelage, using telepathy, astral projection and dreamquests to communicate with them. Occasionally, many centuries after their lessons some of these former pupils return to their teachers to discuss all they have learned in their long, wizardly lives. As they approach the magical power of the wizard masters they too begin to turn into diamonds.

And this is how the Crystal Mountain has slowly grown through the eons.

That's why one of the most important and effective screening questions during player vetting is to gently prod them to comment about the word "martial" or the topic "martial/caster balance" and just passively let them answer. Glintstone crystallization is what happens naturally. It grows. It spreads like a cancer. It's seemingly alive.

But graven masses are explicitly artificial mad science experiments:

- "The primeval current is a forbidden tradition of glintstone sorcery. To those who cleave to its teachings, the act of collecting sorcerers to fashion them into the seeds of stars is but another path of scientific inquiry.

They are "collected" and "fashioned".

Nope. The amount of glintstone heads is pointing to it being a horrific mass murder experiment. The talisman even calls it a mad science experiment. You’re just mad you have poor media/lore literacy. What, do you also think that Rennala was the first Carian queen, too? Or that she was an ancient astrologer? You people are so annoying.

I'm not interested in changing the subject.

We don't know where the Stone Heads come from in their most early form, and being genuinely magical, its possible they can just be created out of thin air by the transmutation, or she just assembled them from whatever was lying around.
She talks to us as an individual in some fashion even after being turned into a Ball, which would be unlikely if she was purely a forced homunculus of a dozen sorcerers.

Like I said, you can accidentally turn yourself into a mad science experiment.
Sellen obviously experimented on other sorcerers before we meet her. But that doesn't preclude her from making a final error in her investigation of the primeval current and ironically ending up as all of her previous experiments did.
>>95862744
If we don't meet them, they don't exist.
Sellen is the only Graven Witch we meet, therefore she's the only one that matters.
The only two others that we know care about the primeval current are Azur and Lusat, who she abducts for experimentation or kills. And were basically brain dead before that point regardless.

She doesn’t actually kill Azur and Lusat. She takes their essences intimately the same way you took hers. It’s unknown what she did with them after. It’s unlikely she shoved herself in with them in some graven mass since she was planning on becoming the new head mistress of the academy. She wouldn’t have put herself out of commission like that unless you consider it to be an accident—which is unlikely since they’re clearly artificially constructed like the Hornsent jars, which are a parallel. Mashing people together is not unheard of across the game’s story.
Anonymous No.95863726

I see the creation of the wizard balls as basically a spontaneous transformation that happens if you glance too closely at the Primeval Current and fuck up while doing so.
Instead of it being a ritual, I see it like how staring at the sun burns your retinas out. In this case 'looking' at the current is going to mutate you into a wizard ball. Except for Azur and Lusat that managed to become enlightened, but also got their brains burnt out.
