Campaign Operations says it's the 2023 Fourth Printing, while up to now only the 2021 Third Printing has been in circulation. Definitely an upgrade, thanks!
Strategic Operations says it's the 2021 Fourth Printing, same as the one in circulation, while DTRPG lists an update in early 2023.
Whether they're the most up to date versions is hard to say without the actual release date. Did you get the files directly from DTRPG/CGL, or did you find them elsewhere?

TechManual says it's the 2021 Sixth Printing (already in circulation), while according to the errata forums an updated 2023 Seventh Printing should exist

I suggest starting with a simple dungeon crawl using an RPG you're familiar with and whatever generator you can find. Not because it's the best way to play but because it's a familiar procedure that lets you practise creating and imagining scenarios, then having the characters react to them.

Y'know, I've always been fascinated by these tabletop-vidya adaptations, but particularly when translating the tangible, where some leeway is inherent to the interpersonal dynamic between referee & player alike, to the more rigid schemes of mathematical equations & complangs of the virtual space. It seems like a good exercise in flexibilization, practical application, & balance, much like a modality of intermedium diplomacy. This same fascination also perks my interest in novelizations of film & television, there's just something about them... I remember buying both (EXTREMELY THICC) volumes of the novelization of the Shogun TV show, the original run from the 1970s, along with the Prisoner of Zenda, its status as a literary cult classic unaware to me at the time, thought it was some kind of obscure media for the longest time. Then again, anything can be said obscure when you have no idea what the fuck it is...
