This event doesn't look good. Something fishy about the sponsors and how the """teams""" are composed. The only interesting thing is that Hou Yifan is playing.
Keep the initiative. Never give up!

I don't know, any advice? Why can't I ever get higher than that? I always blunder at some point. Am I playing too much or too little?
>>95870496You are playing too fast. Try 10 min and up.
In any case, you are currently in the middle of that player base, which means that you are better than half of the players. So, don't worry too much and play to have fun, not to gain something.

bros, is rapid rating super inflated? I spammed games on chess cum and ranked up really easily, while my blitz and bullet strength stays shit
>>95872951Not inflated just different due to the amount of players in the pool. Rapid has fewer players than blitz and bullet, and the best players play almost exclusively blitz and bullet. So those time controls have both more players and those players are stronger. It’s normal to be a few hundred points stronger in Rapid

This might seem like a bit of a silly question because I have seen players much better than me miss high advantage ideas/moves before, and that not all +2 positions look the same, but generally what is the lowest eval position that you are able to recognize as winning and play to reach it?
I have been having a couple of games where I had a +1/+2 advantage that the engine converted in like 8 moves, that I missed, but if I had a more developed instinct I could have played for those ideas.

It’s a good bit to keep teasing a team and never making one. I like this new meme
I wouldn’t join a team personally, anyway. I think this general is pretty over the team stuff. The other samefagged general gets an average of 3 people in arenas. It’s not like /chess/ in its heyday
The general should probably just focus more on discussion of professional events and individually improooving than community activities
>>95880784>other samefagged general gets an average of 3 people in arenasI dont think that really has anything to do with us. Theres a lot more than 3 people in here who have been talking about wanting to join
>>95880784Hello, its not a bit. I have the team creator page open, I want everything to be perfect.
You're already linking a random .com team in the opening post. Might as well create and link our own team.

>>95880923From what I've gathered it seems that as long as everyone in here joins the team he will add it to the OP instead of the other one thats linked right now. I say just go for it and then after we all join and get some tournaments going I'm sure he would gladly replace the other one with it!

>>95879881He’s clearly a cheat troll account. There are cheating extensions that allow you to set your play at a certain level, but it’s still an engine so even though it’s not playing Stockfish every move it’s playing “weird, but strong moves”. That’s what they’re picking up on. If he just set it to its highest setting he’d be banned within a day because he’d be the highest rated player on the site. So to answer

>>95881239I maintain that Fabiano’s peak was higher than Magnus’s. Magnus has never had a tournament like that Sinquefield Cup, which included smashing Magnus himself. Then in the world championship Magnus had to carefully draw him every game to beat him in Rapid. In purely Classical, which is what matters, I think Fabiano had the edge during that period.

>>95884930I’m not on lichess anymore and was more than miffed to learn they no longer allow you to set up a board with board editor and analyze it. You have to have an account now to do more than edit the board. The comification (and commiefication) will only continue to increase
Ok I set up our first tournament, a 3+2 Swiss.
You will need to have played 25 games to be able to join, this is just to do the bare minimum to weed out cheat trolls.
Depending on how this event goes we can adjust time control, number of rounds, membership qualifications etc. Hopefully it goes well.
>>95885060I will start spamming it on the other general let's see how they like it! We are the nKKk don't mess with us!
OP don't forget to add the new team to the next thread! Believe it!
>>95885083This is exciting! This is the biggest thing to happen to tg /chess/ since its creation!
Due to recent events we're switching back to this thread.
I'm losing a lot today at least 7 games in a row.
>>95893884I've been playing the rat recently. Is it just a meme opening?
Please don't post on the other thread this is the current tg chess thread until I make a new one
