This might seem like a bit of a silly question because I have seen players much better than me miss high advantage ideas/moves before, and that not all +2 positions look the same, but generally what is the lowest eval position that you are able to recognize as winning and play to reach it?

I have been having a couple of games where I had a +1/+2 advantage that the engine converted in like 8 moves, that I missed, but if I had a more developed instinct I could have played for those ideas.

We would also go through multiple generals *per day*, the rate of posts and amount of people here were far higher.

I maintain that Fabiano’s peak was higher than Magnus’s. Magnus has never had a tournament like that Sinquefield Cup, which included smashing Magnus himself. Then in the world championship Magnus had to carefully draw him every game to beat him in Rapid. In purely Classical, which is what matters, I think Fabiano had the edge during that period.
