Some Clans overlap a little too much, the writing/grammar is awful in too many areas, the magic system (besides the outline) is nonexistent, the skill options need some tweaking, and the missions are lackluster. Basically the idea is making your own Dr Who adventures or other episodes with your cast of characters and coming back to the same interdimensional hub afterward. So it would be a lot more actually writing than some of our settings.

It has a central point to meet up and you just kinda make your little groups to adventure together. You can have a daoist monk and a glaswegian hacker girl and a cyberpunk solo together if you wanted. Problem is that it'd be reliant on people who want to write adventures or SOL or fight eachother. More or less yeah, Jumpchains are just doing run after run to be a god in a singleplayer world and I dont think they ever intersect. The focus would be far narrower, Travellers Tale as the core and you bring in your own bits from your own CYOA. Like a race section. And it all comes together and you appear in the same spot that the other anons are in. And you could form little ragtag groups to go on adventures or hang out together or whatever.

We would be characters from our chosen CYOA who were brought into Travellers Tale as Travellers. Given our braces and the ability to come to the hub world and stuff and travel and interact with eachother or go to other worlds.

You would never get a third CYOA option given to you directlly and bestowing stuff on you, but you could try to learn how to cultivate from a martial path/kill the heavens/whatever anon if you wrote together. And you could teach him how badass a gun is And maybe pick up some skills that way.

The key is that only small groups adventuring together should go out to places and interact within their small group. All of this talk made me realise that I like the early phases of an MP far more than it's late stages. I like to make builds, discuss them and writefag, but I just can't bring myself to force out a MHA-tier wall of writefags with interconnected stories, crazy characters drama and all that slop. I don't wanna play a single MP for too long either because they get stale quickly, with only a few rare exceptions.

The curious, erratic and strict librarian of the local town, Anne Tenna - insistent on her alien title of 'Professor,' - is a relatively new addition to the local community. A little over one year ago, she arrived from the wilds beyond as a ragged and starving lunatic, mumbling strange things that didn't entirely make sense. Once she was healed by the locals, she immediately began researching into the ruins and artefacts scattered about the broken city.

Industrious and with an extreme talent for organization, it did not take long before the Orbeetle had gathered or bartered for nearly every scrap of paper she could into one place. Much of it remains unreadable, alien runes that she is only beginning to understand, but she also makes a safe place for anything penned by her fellow Pokémon. She often trades her services as a scholar, curator and documenter in return for any form of knowledge - particularly new and unique relics of the Old People, which she also keeps in her claustrophobic library.

She has also been known to take care of the town's children - supervising them in return for light labour sorting her constantly growing pile of ancient junk. It is not uncommon to find younger Pokémon being educated in improvised classes, or otherwise shuffling between mountains of papers and manning the desk while she is focused on her own work.

Tenna's greatest relic is her talking machine - a large metal set of knobs, dials and buttons that can talk to others of its kind over tremendous distances. Though she does not fully understand its inner workings, the similarity to her own nature has her enamoured with the device, and she grows furious, distraught and desperate for help whenever it breaks.

The name Cheeseburger just sounded right to him. That is what came to him when asked his name for the first time. He was a small eevee then, just arriving at The Park. He remembered nothing of his life, his parents, or even if Cheeseburger was really his name. But that was many years ago, now Cheeseburger is a Jolteon in his prime. Although he doesn’t remember his past, he is drawn to the precursor relics and will constantly try to tinker with them. Some would call him a hoarder of junk but Cheeseburger sees every weird disk and black box as a treasure chest of the past waiting to be unlocked. But messing with precursor tech doesn't put food on the table so the next best thing is exploring and rescuing.

Cheeseburger is very quick, but you would not really get that from talking to him. He will usually take his time when he can, giving off a more relaxed vibe. Sometimes he jokes he got the wrong stone by mistake, but he really enjoys his electric abilities. Sometimes if he uses them right he can get precursor tech to come to life. While he does feel good when he saves someone, it doesn't feel nearly as good to him as making a breakthrough in his studies.

The only problems really is a little bit too soon making new threads, and a bit of missing builds and stuff from the new threads and stuff. We love our threadslaves but were spoiled by them at the same time so little mistakes stand out more than usual.

TLDR: You're fine, the problem comes from people using your stuff as excuses more than anything. New runs arent a problem. Its just systemtic issues with us having a long term fued between the shitposters who hate even the slightest mention of an old build, and the people who have been here so long they already did all the builds for all the cyoas so their only way to be interested in a run is to bring an old concept back and continue its story.

Also recently we've had a buncha people from cyoa who care way too much about powergaming and winning and stuff which has killed a few runs. Notably it smothered danmachi in its cradle with the constant bug spell talk and whatnot and tried to strangle HP in the crib with the whining about some people making weeb wizards who weren't british and had their own different styles of casting and stuff.

Were struggling between people who want to just have fun and people who are taking it deathly serious, and then a third subgroup making rancid shitposts that ruin anyones ability to take the fun builds seriously.

Its a concetrated effort and will only stop when the anon behind it gets bored, or we can just silently ignore their builds without it becoming a big issue where we all argue over who else should be ignored.

Do what i'm gonna do, take a few weeks off and see what its like when we come back is my reccomendation if you want to leave for now. Things have gotten bad and were going through like 3 cyoas a thread with no longevity because of the shitpost cycles spinning in circles and those of us desperate for something to latch onto are getting burned out fast.

An active anon I was genuinely hoping came back did come back, and the moment they came back, their character ended up being ridiculed (not unusual for them) and then excluded to appease the complainers (almost never happens here, which was jarring and pissed me off).
At the same time, I know their stuff is exceptionally grim and fucked up. You've been putting in a lot of effort as well, so I tried to push past the drama.

Not long after, in this thread, another old anon (the one who posted Tolltaker) reappeared. Their character had history with the character I was planning to bring back, which would have been a great character moment for mine. I was getting fired up to write about it, then come back and see that they ended up backing out because of some kind of thread drama going on again.

M8, I feel you cuz I've been there at times, so I think I can say with a fair amount of confidence, you're overthinking this. I think you're mixing up 4 issues, and trying to take the blame for them all, when only one of them is truly on you:
1. Shitposters - some anons like to troll a bit, sometimes anons are just in such a mood. Some opinions it's better to just filter out.
2. Banter - like the previous point, but to a lesser extent. Some posts shouldn't be taken seriously.
3. Dark times - the general goes through its ups and downs, now we're in a bit of a trench, but we'll dig out of it in time. Trust
4. Being overeager - this is the one that's really on you, but not in the way it is. When anons are super eager, it's generally a benefit for the rest of the thread. Gather enough of them and that's how MHA came about. But the issue is, if you go too hard, you'll burn out, and this is what I think is happening to you right now. (Doubly so when you think a whole new MP rests solely on you. The only case when that's really true is when it comes to arenas.) It's one of the reasons for the general's ups and downs alongside anons getting swatted with irl stuff.

Lushian would gravitate to the Bygone Market or Sooky station. They are both close to The Park, which is where he stays most of the time I forgot to add in the build, and have a strange nostalgic attaction to them, maybe because he's a Ghost type now. The Market in particular feels strangely cozy, and he is well suited to explore it since most inhabitants can't hurt him much.

For Lennox back at home, mostly with his sister. As a pureblood he has to at least show up to family gatherings and official parties but he tries to minimize the time he has to pretend he cares about all those people he doesn't remember the names of. As soon as he's able he disappears from the party to stay with his sister.

Surprisingly his time at Hogwarts is filled with exploration and is in general more entertaining than he was expecting so he doesn't feel the need to explore around his home anymore, which gives him more time to spend with Madelyn. He made her an enchanted doll as soon as he was able to make sure she wasn't lonely and keeps upgrading it every time he visits her with his new knowledge. He also teaches her what he knows of magic, she is already homeschooled by her parents but he feels they are lacking. Lately the number of dolls in her room increased exponentially, Lennox is not sure where this sudden interest in dolls is coming from bu as long as she is happy he doesn't mind.

He takes a bit of time to take care of his snakes left home as well but he found them lazy and stuck up, his parents have been influencing them to be more in line with a poreblood lifestyle. He doesn't have the time to fix it now so he will have to think about it later, but he will not give up on his misguided family.

Honestly this so much. Any compile is just a record of things that happened in the thread. Emphasis on "in the thread". It's not supposed to be the canon timeline of story events, nor is it public consensus, it's what anons at the time contributed. The space is big enough that you can do your own thing away from everything you don't like. We didn't remove lizard when he was solo power scaling. Barely anyone read his works but it's still there. Same for a lot of MHA. I hate the mass dumps done to fill out the classes, but some people used those characters and made something with them. Shit kind of sucks now, but there are self moderation tools so that you can completely ignore the things you don't like.

Granted that last one got killed. I miss the Kill List, being able to kill total dumps was actually a lot more entertaining then it would seem. Nowdays I don’t think it’d work since people would just make NPC’s for the express purpose of being killed off which doesn’t have the same effect.

The kill list was a really interesting way to deal with culling the cast. It encouraged some to go for the kill first, or have an expendable character that may or may not die at the next encounter. The builds weren't removed, but added to the graveyard for posterity. There were even a few rescued from the list to be their own build which was nice. It gave a lot of unrelated builds time to interact with each other where they wouldn't before.

Yeah, there's still a good amount of effortfags and cool newfags, but they aren't consolidated like in the past. Not that I want to return to only 1 MP at a time, but it meant that there were a lot of things being added, and everyone generally cared about it. Even if capeshit wasn't their thing, they joined anyway. Not to sould like a doomer, but we really did or do have a population problem where it was hovering around 90 ips at peak to around 60 by the tail end of Worm, to I think 20~30 before the ip counter removal. More than enough to make any MP work, but it's a lot more reliant on effortfags than before.

As for stuff like spring break. Nimbus Company does business worldwide. As a longer term threadslaves, I was the one to take the executive decision to not include Jian (see the thread with the "I'll just ignore that Edition", it was about him) because he looked like a shitpost of someone trying to complain about us not running a xianxia MP so they made a character for that in the fotw MP currently running. The fact that the follow-up build was a yokai rape jjk shitpost only assured me in my decision.
I'm not the one managing the HP rentry, and while I think they could be included there in the shitpost section, I'd call it the archivist privilege to decide whether such a section should even be there. If you don't like it, you can always take over.
However, if those builds were active, like with Yukiri, I'd re-include them in the threadslaving lists, although if they kept a shitpost vibe maybe in their own section.
That is if another threadslave didn't add them first. I probably wouldn't remove their work, unless it's the anon of the build asking to be excluded or a big rearranging of notes was needed. Wyze used to be one bad dude, a conniving little Sneasel from the Grimy Ghettos that could snatch the pearl out of a Clamperl without it even realizing it. A lone wolf that always believed that you had to look out for yourself if you wanted to make it in this world... until he got his shit kicked in by Alpha and the rest of The Guard. Wyze could have just been a piece of trash tossed to the side after a one-sided battle, but he wasn't. Alpha took him in, brought him into the team, and showed him how teamwork can make up for the faults of the individual. Essentialy, he got Power of Friendship'd.

Wyze didn't start The Guard, but he became a loyal member. Exploring dangerous territories, beating up wild Pokémon, and even protecting others from the kind of people that he used to be. But no good thing lasts forever. Alpha took his squad to Stone Edge Summit, looking to be the first to finally conquer it. He still hasn't returned. Wyze had agreed with Alpha's request to handle duties as an interim guildmaster while he was gone, but the "interim" part of that title is getting more faded by the day. He can't imagine having to fill in the shoes of the best leader he's ever known, but it's looking like that's what he's going to have to do.

Wyze is still rough around the edges, but he's showing clear signs of trying to improve. His temper isn't as harsh, his language has cleaned up... somewhat, and he's taken precautions against his hazardous abilities, but he still sometimes has his old mannerisms crop up. His new role is weighing on him, and having to juggle it and slowly having to accept that the person he looked up to is gone is putting him under a lot of stress, but he's managed to keep things afloat so far. Really, what Wyze lacks most as a guildmaster is charisma. He doesn't have a friendly face and he doesn't know how to give encouraging speeches, only able to crudely ape Alpha's lessons from his memories. It's difficult to ensure a mother that her kid is in safe hands when you unintentionally say it with a sly smirk. He's got a soft spot for the heroic types that remind him of Alpha and the hostile inhospitable types that remind him of who he used to be.
