How's everyone's solo games going lately?
I've been doing a lot of IRL errand BS lately, so I haven't had time to play... My fantasy world in my notebooks calls to me. It says, "Bro, where are you? There's dungeons to explore, nations to conquer, and buxom women to plunder. WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"

I stopped playing since I joined a group game, somehow the motivation to play solo just isn't there right now. Although I am enjoying some worldbuilding (or more like setting designing? since I'm focusing more on the gameplay aspects rather than just flavor).

Usurper 2nd Edition has mechanics for simulating political shifts and events between play sessions that happen both in and between realms of the world, but it is quite abstracted and somewhat presumes a sparsely populated and mostly untamed world.

Among the stars is interesting in that in both solo and regular play there is a secret GM session where all major factions (relative to the player in the fiction, so a gang, to a nation, to a interstellar government) all roll dice to resolve grievances with each other or react to what you or the players did in your game session. This can be as minor as the disposition changing slightly to war to having a bounty put on the player's heads, etc.
The point is to make a world seem like its living and breathing to players because by the time they sit down for the next session, things have changed unbeknownst to them.
You could probably rip that system and then revamp it to be political, maybe find or invent a couple of political issues and let them develop over time via those in-between sessions rolls.

Going good! While delving the dungeon, my thief has met an orc who he released on good behavior, and they have joined forces; she's going to help him clear the dungeon of kobolds in exchange for half the take, and he's going to help her as she searches for wondrous item, a flute that can summon herd animals. After defeating a kobold patrol and having their (goblin) interpreter question the last survivor, they've learned that the kobold chieftain definitely has the flute. They came across another patrol of Kobolds, dispatched swiftly, and a gang of grimlocks that they snuck around because they were big and beefy compared to the two of them, before confronting another gang of kobolds. Last I played, they stopped to take a breather after the thief jumped in front of an attack to keep the orc from getting killed.

I've been thinking of ways to use ai to help me play mystery scenarios in my games recently. I was thinking of asking it to create tables of possible scenarios, then pull 5(4 maybe true and 1 hard fact) from there and generate it as coded message i can decode seperately when i think i have a lead. Then i use playing cards and use the mechanics of nine steps and a bloody heart to determine when and what scenario should i decode. I like the idea of nine steps and a bloody heart but the fact that i still know the possible answers to the mystery rubs me the wrong way.

I am sorry that your social life is so dead that you have to use RPGs to get anyone to interact with you. But we won't stop playing solo just because you are (perhaps rightfully) afraid you'll be replaced with an oracle.

mostly trying to get a Usurper game off the ground as it's really easy to start up again. I'm trying really hard to play the "roll when the story requires it" way like he mentions in the book, which is coming out different than I normally would. also need to roll up some characters for a space exploration game I've been wanting to go autistic on for a bit. but not really a ton of actual playing right now

I just rolled up a fighter (battlemaster) / thief (assassin) to run an ACTUALLY evil campaign. He just straight up murdered a noble for a mere payday.

Because he's about to pay the waif he's been fucking pregnant to fuck off to some village somewhere to raise his kid.

Then he's going to pick some other waif and make her his bed wench and deflower her real good.

Because EVIL. Duh.

Always with the 'evil' campaign its just players being murderhobos. Never actual hired killers. Or doing something with the money thats also evil. Like turning poor girls into pregnant wealthy girls shipped off to the countryside.

People are fine with buckets and buckets of blood and gore. But doing anything ELSE evil. Nope big uh uh.

>Like turning poor girls into pregnant wealthy girls shipped off to the countryside.
You don't have a really good grasp of a class system if you think merchants and nobles would want to marry some poor girl. Most likely they would if slavery was legal or to make her a secret mistress that still has to be a scullery maid or some similar position.
The only times wealthy men would marry down their class is if:
>she is unnaturally beautiful
>they are criminals who are newly noble and were rejected by the noble class for w/e reason
>they were desperate and unwilling to wait as travel was hard, even in IRL medieval times
>they were knights or just an extremely lucky peasant that somehow got favor from a king to be promoted but not enough favor to get any nobles to marry their daughters off to them.
Historically, any time a new noble family was made, the noble class would reject them from decades to centuries for being "new nobles". Almost always nobles are against the induction of new nobles as it dilutes their power.

to be fair, most feminist see marriage as evil, regardless if it's by consent, tradition, purchase, or force. So in this day and age, being forced to live in a mansion and give birth to a child and living a life of comfort is considered abuse by the average person in this day an age. Hence the 50% divorce rate.

I suspect that the reference from the poster you refer to...

>playing with your organ

...is a reference to your apparent interest in solo RPGs as masturbation. In other words, yet another person scared at the prospect of being replaced by a Solo RPG, and therefore lashing out at the prospect of Solo RP as an option. Apparently they think many years of cajoling people into their circle is somehow better.

the 20 is stinky. fuck that thing
but the d12? mm-mmm. stunning. beautiful. perfect
the ideal combination of rollable shape and large faces. look at the way it tumbles when you toss it. not for too long either, like that fat fuck the d20. the elegance of the d12 roll is unmatched and unmatchable
it's divisible by 2, 4, and 6, functioning as those dice by just splitting the ranges, vastly increasing its versatility. no more trying to roll a fucking piece of shit floppy retard idiot moron d4 that just plops onto the table like a turd from an ass and never moves again. we hate the d4, we do. just roll a d12 and split it into 3s.
12 faces is the perfect number for making a quick table. TWO d12 tables? 24 total results but 144 combinations. more than you could ever need. 2d10 has a mere 100 combinations and you only need 4 more sparks to round out 2d12. absolutely sublime
need to roll a d66? that's 36 results, you know. you could just roll 2d12 and treat one of those d12s as a d3, corresponding to 11-26, 31-46, and 51-66 respectively
nothing beats the d12. if I could bear the children of a d12, I would do it

In addition to his murder of a 'noble' merchant(poisoning the guy so he looked like he died of a drug OD in the middle of a speech at a party the guy threw), i just had Gr0k generate a bunch of contracts on offer.

So he went and took a couple. At night he snuck aboard one ship in the harbour, using the 'harbour forest' of masts and yardarms to gain access. Snuck into the ballast and put acid on the rudder chain. (so that the next day, when they tried to set sail, the rudder broke, and the ship, rudderless in harbour, caused mass chaos and delayed its sailing)

Snuck back out and up a mast, to sneak to another ship. Steal into it. The ship's magazine was guarded, so he shanks the poor fool, picks the lock and drag the corpse in before they can be discovered. Set's a long fuse to the magazine, relocks the door behind him and flees.

Watching from a dockside tavern, he watches the second ship explode, killing all aboard.

While all three crimes are not suspected of being such, three such events so close together means the guards are out in force, suspicious.

So assassin battlemaster has to lay low until the heat is off.
Which means his current fuckmeat, Zynna the little red tiefling girl's ass of thirteen summers is going to get a solid workout.

See? I wondered, what if the protagonist of the 'story' wasnt a hero.
We already have shit like goblin slayer, were the protagonist 'not a hero' totally still is.

But what if the protagonist was an actual fucking scumbag. Irredeemable.

You... You know that child marriage is one of those things that was kinda normal in medieval societies right? Sure in a fantasy setting it doesn't exist for very obvious reasons, but saying "Oh my character is evil cause he fucks kids in a time where everyone was fucking kids" makes him fairly normal and only really evil in our time.

Eh, at this point it's a solo ttrpg, let him do w/e degenerate shit he wants to do. I generally think mixing cooming and ttrpgs is a bad idea, you can have sex scenes and sex appeal in your games if you want but making it goonercore is just... ...Very empty to me, also kinda weird if someone finds your book and reads it while you're alive, let alone if you die and someone reads it. Tons, but my favorites are:
Forbiden Gateway (2 books)
Fable Lands (6 original books + a new modern one. It's the closest to a freeform solo ttrpg)
The Way of the Tiger (6 original books + two moderns + 6 shitty new editions with awful artwork. Get the originals)
The Saga of the Demon Spawn (4 books. Very verbose and with complicated rules, but really great fro that Conan-esque feel)
The Cretan Chronicles (3 books. Ancient Greece with gods and shit)
AD&D Super Endless Quests (best books are The Soulforge, it's a Raistlin/Dragonlance book about a magic user's quest/test to become more powerful, and Test of the Ninja. Escape from Castle Quaras is also good. You play a thief)
Golden Dragon also has good books. The Egyptian one is really hard. The Mayan one is easier.
What else? Call of Cthulhu Alone Against the Wendigo is good. It also has some solo oracle-like rules in the adventure itself. It's not great, but I have a real fondness for it.
There's lots of D&D solo modules, published and in D&D magazines like Dragon. Tunnels and Trolls has a lot more. There's even a Mercenaries, Spies and Private Eyes (similar rules as T&T) solo module called The Adventure of the Jade Jaguar (really good).
Some books have too much humor or are too tongue in cheek for me. Like Grailquest and Horror Classics.
Some are less known. Car Wars has some good gamebooks, but you must like the setting.
Some are too well known and overrated a little. Like Lone Wolf/Freeway Warrior/Grey Star.

Some are very niche, but great, like the Falcon series (time travel by the guy who wrote Way of the Tiger).
The Virtual Reality series has some great ones. Necklace of Skulls (Aztec-like setting. Best book of the series. You can do more than in lots of other books, even become immortal during play), Twist of Fate (Arabian nights) and Heart of Ice (ice age future).
You can get most of these for free as pdf on the internet archive. Or for a cheap price on amazon. Like less than 10-15 bucks for a brand new book in most cases.

As for FF, there's the Warlock magazine with some good adventure. The original House of Hell is in it, a sequel to the good superhero gamebook Appointment with FEAR, and a modern Egyptian tomb raiding adventure.
In the FF seires itself, Demons of the Deep is great. It's an underwater adventure and you get magical gills. Appointment with FEAR is good.
Oh, if you read French and are lucky enough to get copies, La Saga du Pretre Jean and Superpouvoirs are really, really good gamebook series.

Superpouvoirs is a really underated serie (2 books).
Building a hero is great. A major power, 2 minor ones (3d6 tables), and origin (human, modifid human, mutant, alien), how rich you are, etc.
The stats are good too. Charisma for how liked you are as a hero (2 if you're a bounty hunter, need at least 5 to be an Agent), Ego is how much you think of yourself. At 6 you're an asshole. At 0 you quit the hero business like Spider-Man seems to do every 5 years in the comics.

In book 2, if you fail a roll at some point you fall in love with a Soviet enemy hero and you follow her to Russia lol True Love and all that. If you succeed, she follows you.
It was the 80s, what can I say?
The powers in the books were great. I lost my books ages ago and still remember so much about them.
Here's a good site to check out the recs you will get in the thread:
https://gamebooks.org/
And, of course, there is also gamebooks in comic book form. There's original stories and some from IPs like Judge Dredd. Most have simple rpgs rules and are not just choose your own page adventures. Most are not medieval fantasy, they are mostly modern or sci-fi.

Last post.
Lot of older ttrpgs have solo gamebook modules. Runequest has 3, I think. Gamma World has at least 1. There's also some multi-rrpg solo gamebook modules. One for Call of Cthulhu/D&D/James Bond/Runequest is Thing in the Darkness (1983). Easy to find on Google as a pdf.
And James Bond has a solo gamebook adventure full of actual solo tools. That game is great. I don't really care for JB, but the game is one of the best I know.

I've mentioned it before but I've been working on this with Usurper. It's kind of grating against me but also once I get into it it's really nice.

as an example, my barbarian got trapped in a magical dark room and completely failed his attacks against some monsters. he faded out and I wasn't sure where to go with it after that. So, I decided he was captured by the wizard who lives in the dungeon and now they're talking. This is when I can roll during conversations to see if I make it out alive, team up, piss off, etc. So relying less on oracles for ideas, but still rolling in uncertainty.

Do you work in IMAX?
Because if not, you are wasting a great projectionist talent.
Solos are the easiest self-righteous group on /tg/ to mock. Not even OSR fags are this sensitive about ANY kind of critique
And in 9 out of 10 cases, it all boils down to someone being so fucking incompetent when it comes to looking for players - any players, not even the good or fitting ones - that they just shut in with a piece of papers, and, wait for it, pretend to be playing a game of pretend. Which is still fine and dandy, but then there are asshats like you, who try to carry that as a badge of merit.
Merit of what? That you failed so hard, you need to play with yourself?
I'm here to laugh. Not even to feel better about myself, because it's a devastating how inept people behind solo are, but laugh about their "hurrr we are taking over, quake in fear!" attitude you so neatly encapsulate

>And James Bond has a solo gamebook adventure full of actual solo tools. That game is great. I don't really care for JB, but the game is one of the best I know.
There is a copyright neutral retroclone of the James Bond RPG named Classified. It is set in modern day instead of Cold War, but does not adhere to any specific kind of modern day setting.
It also does not have solo adventures made for it, but it has the same ruleset that is at it's best with one PC to begin with.

Yeah, but it's stereotypical and/or kinda unrealistic for a Paladin to have in a setting where Gods are confirmed real, if you ask me. Even if the God is inactive in a traditional sense, I doubt someone that lustful wouldn't be thrown out during training.

That's retarded, most settings do have some some sort of god or goddess of sex (even if they tend to be named something else, such as good aligned ones being deities of "love")

Generally when I talk about Paladins I talk about the OSR/"historical" fantasy version of a Paladin. So a chaste Paladin, it would make sense that a literal Paladin to a God/Goddess of pleasure would be lustful but it also makes even less sense that a hedonistic deity would have a ascetic martial side.
It's like if the Cult of Dionysus had a weight loss club in Ancient Roman times.

oh yeah... and the 12 skellingtons he murders things with in their full-robes, half-plate, shields, warhammers and longbows.
while he rides around on his skelly horse (in caparison and plate barding). the other prisoner he 'liberated' from the bandit camp (whose bandits he just slew as they attacked his lady's lands) is DINNER. he's trussed up and slung over the skellyhorse's saddle, punched out. and the knight is about to ride back to his lady, the Vampire who runs the estate. whom our death knight works for.

Azrathiel Elarion
Race: Elf (Variant)
Class: Paladin (Oathbreaker)
Level: 12
Alignment: Lawful Evil
Background: Noble
Appearance:
Azrathiel Elarion, the elven death knight, is a towering and formidable figure, radiating a blend of elven grace and raw power cloaked in calculated discretion. Unusual for the typically lithe elves, he is supremely masculine, his thickly built frame brimming with fit and muscled strength. His broad shoulders, powerful arms, and robust chest speak to his exceptional physical prowess, honed by both his elven heritage and the dark forces that fuel him. Standing at nearly six feet tall—his imposing height amplifies his commanding presence, making him a striking anomaly among his kind.
His face is a chilling masterpiece of contrasts, both regal and menacing. His deathly pale skin, as white as bone bleached by time, gives him an almost spectral appearance, glowing faintly in low light. Against this stark canvas, his bright, cold blue eyes burn with an icy, unrelenting intensity, piercing through the gloom like twin shards of frost. His long, jet-black hair cascades past his shoulders in a sleek, unbroken flow, as dark as a moonless night, framing his angular features. An aquiline nose, sharp and aristocratic, lends him a predatory air, while his thin, blood-red lips stand out vividly against his pallor, often curled into a grim line or a subtle, sinister smirk that hints at his ruthless nature.
Anonymous
6/18/2025, 11:52:28 AM No.95896880
Azrathiel’s attire and armaments are deliberately understated yet unmistakably ominous, designed to conceal his true nature while projecting authority. He wears black plate armour, its surface a deep, matte black that absorbs light rather than reflects it. The armour is unadorned, free of ostentatious engravings or symbols, its plain design masking the necromantic power of its wearer. It fits his muscled physique perfectly, accentuating his strength while offering formidable protection. In battle, he wields either a ghostly glowing longsword, its blade shimmering with a pale, ethereal light that flickers like a restless spirit, or a blackened lance, its shaft as dark as coal, with a spear tip that glows a faint, ominous red, pulsing with an inner fire. Both weapons are unembellished, their supernatural aura subtle enough to avoid drawing undue attention yet potent enough to promise death. At his side, he carries a black shield, its surface equally plain and unadorned, a slab of dark metal that bears no crest or sigil, further shrouding his identity in mystery.

Mounted astride his skeletal warhorse, Azrathiel completes his guise as a dark, enigmatic warrior. The horse’s true nature—bare bones animated by necromancy—is entirely hidden beneath its black plate barding and black caparison. The barding, crafted to match Azrathiel’s armour, covers the skeletal frame in a seamless layer of matte black metal, obscuring any hint of its undead form. Under this, the black caparison drapes like a shroud, flowing down to conceal the horse’s legs and body, its dark fabric blending with the barding to create the illusion of a living, albeit grim, steed. The caparison moves with a ghostly grace, masking the telltale clatter of bones, while the barding ensures no skeletal glimpses betray the deception. To the casual observer, the mount appears as a heavily armoured warhorse cloaked in shadow, its true nature revealed only in the heat of battle or under close scrutiny. The horse’s eyes, if visible, glow faintly red beneath its helm, but the plain black design keeps such details subtle, aligning with Azrathiel’s intent to avoid openly advertising his Infernal allegiance.
Together, this tall, thickly muscled elf and his concealed undead mount form a vision of restrained dread—a death knight whose plain black garb and gear veil his true power, allowing him to move among mortals as a dark enigma, his honour-bound, evil nature cloaked in secrecy until the moment he unleashes his foul might.

The Black Cadre
Lord Azrathiel Elarion, a fearsome 'death knight', commands a cadre of 12 skeletons. These undead minions, clad in dark armour and wielding deadly weapons, serve as his personal ‘murder squad’—enforcers of his will and harbingers of doom. Infused with the infernal essence of the Nine Hells, they are both a mechanical asset and a chilling extension of his power.

Appearance
• Armour: Each skeleton wears half-plate armour (AC 15), painted matte black.
• Robes: Beneath the armour, black robes flow, lending an eerie, wraith-like presence as they move in silence.
• Shields: They carry plain black shields (AC +2)
• Helms: Their skulls are encased in black helms with narrow eye slits, creating a uniform, menacing visage.
• Weapons: Each wields a longbow for ranged assaults and a warhammer for close combat.
• Quivers: Black-fletched arrows fill their quivers.

Control and Management
• Control: Using Animate Dead (3rd-level spell), Lord Azrathiel Elarion maintains control over 12 skeletons. He reasserts dominance after his 1st elven trance, leveraging two 4-hour periods (8 hours total) to sync with a human long rest, ensuring no additional spell slots are needed daily.
• Trance Synergy: This unique use of trance maximises his undead army, allowing him to command a full dozen minions even after casting other spells.
• Commands: As mindless undead, they obey simple orders (e.g., "shoot that enemy," "guard this position," "charge forward") and can perform basic tasks like carrying gear or standing sentinel.

Description
Appearance: Lady Isolde Nyx, a human turned vampire at the apparent age of 16, is a vision of deadly allure. Her jet-black ebony skin gleams with a silken sheen, stark and captivating under moonlight. Lambent amber eyes burn with predatory hunger, their glow both seductive and menacing, framed by long, dark lashes. Her golden blonde hair is woven into a tight, thigh-length braid, shimmering like spun gold, swaying with each calculated step. Her muscular and curvaceous build exudes power and femininity, with large, voluptuous breasts, wide, flared hips, and a plump, shapely rear, her curves a lethal lure that disarms the unwary. At 5’6”, she commands attention without towering, her presence amplified by her supernatural grace.

6/18/2025, 12:11:51 PM No.95896930
Outfit: Isolde’s attire is both daring and discreet, designed to entice while concealing her vampiric nature. She wears a saucily revealing black leather corset, laced tightly to accentuate her voluptuous form, over a billowy, loose white silk blouse with slits that reveal tantalizing glimpses of her skin. A flowing black skirt, loose but slit high to showcase her curves, sways with her movements, maintaining an air of elegance. Her tall, brown soft leather doeskin boots are practical yet stylish, their muted tone grounding her otherwise provocative ensemble. The outfit balances seduction with subtlety.
Predatory Vibe: Isolde’s warm smile and sultry charm are a masterclass in deception, luring prey into complacency before her amber eyes flash with ruthless intent. Her nature is unyielding, governed by a strict code of honour that demands loyalty and obedience. She views Azrathiel Elarion, her elven lover, as both a knight in her service and an ever-eager consort, binding him with her lusts and their shared ambition. Her voice, honeyed yet commanding, ensures her will is obeyed, and her presence dominates any room, a supreme predator cloaked in youthful beauty. Able to play the coquette or ingenue as needed, she can pass as a shy bashful debutante or a wanton social ladder climber through 'noble' 'high society'.
Background: Born a human noble 136 years ago, Isolde was transformed into a vampire at 16 through a dark pact with a fiendish entity, granting her eternal youth and power. Over the years, she has carved a domain for herself, a luxurious but small manor house and estate a day's ride from Waterdeep. Her nature drives her to maintain order, albeit for her own gain, and she has forged an alliance with Azrathiel, recognizing his prowess and honorable code. As his superior, she commands his loyalty, using him as her enforcer and consort while pursuing ambitions of dominion and eternal pleasure.

Traits
Shapechanger. If Isolde isn’t in sunlight or running water, she can use her action to polymorph into a Tiny bat or a Medium cloud of mist, or back into her true form.
Bat Form: Can’t speak, walking speed 5 ft., flying speed 30 ft. Statistics (except size/speed) unchanged. Worn items transform, carried items don’t. Reverts if she dies.
Mist Form: Can’t take actions, speak, or manipulate objects. Weightless, flying speed 20 ft., can hover, occupies hostile creature’s space. Passes through spaces air can, not water. Advantage on Str, Dex, Con saves; immune to nonmagical damage except sunlight. Reverts if she dies.
Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If Isolde fails a saving throw, she can choose to succeed instead.
Misty Escape. When reduced to 0 HP outside her resting place (not in sunlight/running water), Isolde transforms into mist (as Shapechanger) instead of falling unconscious. If unable to transform, she is destroyed. In mist form at 0 HP, she can’t revert and must reach her resting place within 2 hours or be destroyed. In her resting place, she reverts, incapacitated until regaining 1 HP (1 hour at 0 HP restores 1 HP).
Regeneration. Isolde regains 20 HP at the start of her turn if she has at least 1 HP and isn’t in sunlight or running water. If she takes radiant damage or holy water damage, this trait doesn’t function at her next turn.
Spider Climb. Isolde can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down, without an ability check.
Anonymous
6/18/2025, 12:14:22 PM No.95896940
Vampire Weaknesses. Isolde has the following flaws:
Forbiddance: Cannot enter a residence without an invitation from an occupant.
Harmed by Running Water: Takes 20 acid damage if she ends her turn in running water.
Stake to the Heart: If a wooden piercing weapon is driven into her heart while incapacitated in her resting place, she is paralyzed until the stake is removed.
Sunlight Hypersensitivity: Takes 20 radiant damage when starting her turn in sunlight, with disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks.
Actions
Multiattack (Vampire Form Only). Isolde makes two attacks, only one of which can be a bite attack.
Unarmed Strike (Vampire Form Only). Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 8 (1d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage. Instead of dealing damage, Isolde can grapple the target (escape DC 14).
Bite (Bat or Vampire Form Only). Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one willing creature, or a creature grappled, incapacitated, or restrained. Hit: 7 (1d6 + 4) piercing damage plus 10 (3d6) necrotic damage. The target’s hit point maximum is reduced by the necrotic damage taken, and Isolde regains HP equal to that amount. The reduction lasts until the target finishes a long rest. If reduced to 0 max HP, the target dies. A humanoid slain and buried rises the next night as a vampire spawn under Isolde’s control.
Charm. Isolde targets one humanoid she can see within 30 ft. If the target can see her, it must succeed on a DC 17 Wisdom saving throw or be charmed for 24 hours. The charmed target regards Isolde as a trusted friend, is willing for her bite attack, and takes her requests favorably. If Isolde or her companions harm the target, it can repeat the save, ending the effect on success. The effect lasts until Isolde is destroyed, on another plane, or ends it as a bonus action.

Children of the Night (1/Day). Isolde magically calls 2d4 swarms of bats or rats, provided the sun isn’t up. Outdoors, she can call 3d6 wolves instead. The creatures arrive in 1d4 rounds, acting as her allies and obeying her spoken commands. They remain for 1 hour, until Isolde dies, or she dismisses them as a bonus action.
Legendary Actions
Isolde can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one can be used at a time, at the end of another creature’s turn. She regains spent legendary actions at the start of her turn.
Move. Isolde moves up to her speed without provoking opportunity attacks.
Unarmed Strike. Isolde makes one unarmed strike.
Bite (Costs 2 Actions). Isolde makes one bite attack.

Personality and Relationship with Azrathiel
Lawful Evil Code: Isolde adheres to a strict code of honour, valuing order, loyalty, and mutual benefit. She expects obedience but rewards service, ensuring Azrathiel’s loyalty through respect and seduction rather than fear alone. Her ruthlessness surfaces when her authority is challenged, but her charm maintains alliances.
Anonymous
6/18/2025, 12:17:07 PM No.95896952
Predatory Nature: Isolde is a supreme predator, using her sultry charm and warm smile to manipulate mortals and undead alike. Her amber eyes and curvaceous form are weapons, disarming prey before she strikes with lethal precision. She savours the hunt but prioritises control over chaos.
Command over Azrathiel: As a CR 13 vampire, Isolde is more powerful than Azrathiel (Level 12). She views him as her knight, valuing his necromantic army (12 skeletons, skeletal warhorse) and martial prowess, and as her consort, drawn to his supremely masculine, thickly built form and bright cold blue eyes. Their shared lawful evil alignment ensures a stable alliance, with Isolde as the dominant partner. She commands him with a mix of authority and allure, binding him to her service while fostering his ambition.
Dynamic: Isolde and Azrathiel operate as a dark power couple, their partnership rooted in mutual respect, lust and shared goals. She is the velvet glove, He is the iron fist, both working hand in glove to advance their shared cause. Their lawful evil codes align, but Isolde’s superior power ensures she leads, with Azrathiel as her devoted Knight, Retainer and lover, eagerly indulging his lusts for her at any available hour.

Tactics and Lair
Combat Tactics: Isolde uses Charm (DC 17 Wis save) to disable foes, Children of the Night to summon allies (bats, rats, wolves), and Multiattack (unarmed strike + bite) to grapple and drain. She employs Shapechanger (bat/mist) and Legendary Actions (move, bite) to evade and strike. Regeneration (20 HP/turn) and Legendary Resistance (3/day) make her resilient, but she avoids sunlight and running water.

Lair: Isolde maintains a shadowy manor house, disguised as a noble estate, with a hidden crypt as her resting place. Charmed and paid mortals servants in her employ attend the estate and its grounds, while Azrathiel’s skeletons stand guard hidden around the house. She uses Misty Escape to retreat if threatened, relying on Azrathiel to crush pursuers.
Weaknesses: Sunlight (20 radiant/turn), running water (20 acid/turn), and staking in her resting place are threats. Azrathiel’s Aura of Protection (+3 saves within 10 ft.) bolsters her saves, while his Dreadful Aspect scatters foes to protect her.
Notes
Age: 120 years old since vampirism, turned at 16, ensuring decades of cunning and power.
Sources: Stats from Monster Manual (2014, p. 297), appearance/personality per user description, background inspired by Curse of Strahd (2016, p. 24–27).
Aesthetic: Outfit is saucy yet discreet, balancing allure with subtlety to match Azrathiel’s plain black gear, avoiding overt vampiric advertisement.
Alliance: Isolde’s CR 13 and Cha 18 ensure dominance over Azrathiel, reinforced by her lawful evil code and seductive charm.

and now you can use them or ideas generated from look at them in your campaigns.

maybe the dickass knight is someone your characters slaughter in their campaign?

or maybe the vampire bitch gets turned into your characters' prisoner in their campaign.

If it helps he is using her abusive super powered vampire sex (training him to pleasure her) and using it in turn to make bitches into his cumslut fuckslaves.
So far he raped a cute peasant women crazy for his D. She's a little spy, hiding in plain sight throughout the city. And he just broke a Watchknight's brain with his dick. So now she is his little spy amongst the watch.
He needs to learn how to fuck better before he can think about raping a merchant or noble into being his spy. Can't have too many spies though, since they have to be paid in fuck too. Gotta keep the numbers small.

Its Not JUST lewd.

First he slaughtered some bandits attacking a farm on the vampiress' estate
Tracked them to their camp. Thats where he got the male prisoner as dinner for the vampire, and the female prisoner to turn into his little spy. put the map from the camp together with the journal from the bandit leader and tracked some zhents. Then he went and stomped all kinds of arse at the hidden zhent safehouse. Uncovered a bunch of hidden zhents and such after torturing the zhent agent. Up to and including total castration. Gotta love how healing magic just heals, it doesnt regrow shit whats been hacked off. I do have to admit stabbing the guy through the knee and then healing it just to stab the fucker all pver again fresh so he can feel it raw all over again was a bit of fun.

He may have slaughtered some bastard peasants who dared to interfere with his duty. They may or may not have been waterdhavian guards.
That was where he kidnapped the Watchknight. Honestly, i blame grok for generating a watchknoght babe who was tall and strong with big bouncing tits barely restrained by her breastplate and hips and ass pulling her unifom breeches taut.

Lawful evil actually, he was a follower of a LE devil version of Sifkesh: https://pathfinder.fandom.com/wiki/Sifkesh
For a 'Way of the Wicked' campaign.
All we did was reverse her backstory and have the heresy be she went from being a demon to a devil.
Markul was great fun, completely impractical in any fight because I decided to gimmick him by having him wield a whip and razor and whips are, sadly, shit in pathfinder.
But great fun none the less.

...Yes.
Core Books tend to have the core mechanics and the base of the game. Rulebooks tend to have additional optional content for adding more complex rules. Supplements do the same but usually have a theme or a specific purpose (Like a bestiary or a Gazetteer for example.) And adventure modules are specific stories and missions for characters to undergo.

The treasure hunt was a failure, the wizard felt really bad. The Prince entered a twin in the mountains and now is talking with some caravan guys. One thing I noticed of this game is how lean it is. I was wizard joined my party, does he have spells, equipment, armor, an amulet? The game doesn't tell me. I have also an Elf, does he use bow and arrows, nobody knows. Sure. You just survived a judicial hanging for charges that may or may not have been true. You wake up in an enormous pit full of bodies with scavengers feasting on the remains. The pit is too deep to escape but there's a fissure in the wall you can escape through that leads down a long shaft that opens up into a dungeon. Find your way out.

I just stole most of that from Ker Nethales because it's my absolute favorite opener. Just Oracle your way though the dungeon, I'd recommend something like juice Oracle or whatever.

It's pretty good. Like a long, long table of story elements, ordered by theme. So in the action table you've got shit like
>man with a gun
>snap-second decision
>the chase is on
While in Horror you've got
>a foreboding presence
>the natural becomes unnatural
>a hopeless situation
With some crossover between the two. Honestly it's worth getting as a general oracle, even if you don't use it as intended. Like having a diet tvtropes on hand.

Personally I just think of a general theme/tone, generate 3 random words from randomwordgenerator.com for inspiration as needed, then work out the details with X-in-6 chance rolls. Example follows.

I'm looking for modern horror stuff, disturbing, kinda small scale.
>Speculate. Gear. Separate.
I'm thinking small-town paranormal researcher, not badly equipped, been into this sort of things for a while. How do I earn a living?
>Escape. Supply. Triangle.

I'd like to take a post to say the tools you use to record and play are just as important as the system.

I've been using Ironsworn Companion for a game and switching between tabs is such a pain in the ass that I realized it was actually putting me off continuing, as nice it is as a free tool.

Moving everything to Obsidian has me hyped for the game again.

I like to record my notes on random tables so I can roll on them during play. It can be short phrases, words, longer bits, etc.
I can record name/characters/locations/events that way in chronological order and get some follow up to these things if I roll on them later. I use a simple oracle and questions to determine if the thing I roll is positive, negative, important or not, etc.

There's a ton of JTTRPGs and some indies that do an adventure and "rest" period where you go on an adventure and have a "filler episode" where you do more mundane tasks. There's a mecha game inspired by Evangelion that does the high school slice of life part really well to the point my players had more fun doing that then the actual missions, mainly because the game uses the slice of life part to fuel the tension and conflict between players during the action/mission parts.

For instance, maybe my cleric is struggling with getting her armoring to fit quite right, and so she spends 2 days simply making little adjustments and trying to do things in the adjusted armor like skipping a stone 6 times.

a spark for a minor event or vignette, a run-in with an NPC, "what annoying shit happens to you at your day job you have between adventures." did your character accidentally booze too hard by spending his hard-earned gold? what happened as a result? etc. unless something's outcome is guaranteed or circumstances are plainly evident, I am not a fan of just making a decision about what happens without any context
it's also the only time I'd ever actually like to use something like a progress track

Solo tabletop RPGs are the only experience I've ever had that's made me feel how lonely it can be at the top. I have a 5e solo game that I've been playing regularly (weekly) since about 2019, and playing that character made me feel the emptiness of what comes with being the man whose seen and done everything he set out to do. He reached level 20 long ago, got involved with conflicts between world altering powers like gods and superfaction leaders, and in a way he's kind of met with nothing in the end. I've started new games and spinoff games since then, but that sensation was truly interesting while it lingered... I don't think that it's something I could have experienced with a group, as I don't think anyone would play a campaign to it's true end, and I can't imagine anyone taking the realization of true power seriously in that setting.

Why would level 20 be "the true end"?
Campaigns can perfectly end at level 7 or so and still be a "true" end just like they can also start at level 10.
Not everything needs to be a shonen where you start as a worthless loser and end up defeating gods.
Ofc if you enjoy that, well you're not alone, isn't that the whole point of the xianxia genre?

Barbarian Prince: I got an audience with the King of the underground city, met his daughter the princess. She could had fallen in love with him, and add 200 gold in jewels to his coffers and horses for the party to move better and faster through the land, if I only had got a 6. But the Dice thought otherwise, I got 1. They kicked Cal and his buddies from the city. Some other campaign, Dwarf Princess you and Cal will be reunited.

It's where you create a character for the full system, but it kinda plays almost like a journalling game so you kinda get a feel for the base mechanics without all the massive overhead of such a crunchy system. Savage Worlds, I first used Gold&Glory: Seven Deadly Dungeons as it's OSR styled and easy enough to play solo, but I also combined it with tarot cards to use as oracles since the original books leave some story implied but incomplete.
Now I want to continue using Savage Worlds, but I'm homebrewing a fantasy/post apocalyptic setting instead and plan to use PUM as GME.

Well holy shit, an actual woman.
Let us all know how PUM works out. I've never used it but it looks a bit too railroadish for my tastes.

>Well holy shit, an actual woman.
First solo game I played was Lichdom, and instead of using regular playing cards I used pic related and it felt much more suitable to the tone of the game.
I don't care about the mystical or self help bullshit associated with the cards though, so rpg oracles are some sort of use besides just staying in the box.

Are two decks of playing cards asking too much for a solo rpg?

Instead of using dice game uses two decks of playing cards, but is two too many? I can see using one deck, but two feels kinda bit much.

Two decks feels a bit much but it's still doable, I guess it depends on what exactly you do with each deck.
I used two decks when playing a Savage Worlds setting that used cards for dungeon generation + cards for initiative during combat (which is default for SW). During the combat itself, I could just ignore the dungeon generation deck, but I guess it'd have been messy to use two decks that interacted with each other in some way.

the art is pretty
but probably the real reason is just that many want to believe they have some sort of magic power that's not quantifiable or verifiable in any way. As in, a power fantasy that cannot be denied by "no you're clearly not strong/smart/beautiful enough for that".

also, the first time I encountered Tarot was in the game Ogre Battle for SNES and it felt cool there.

Marketing, it's the lazy, retard's shorthand for women to be spiritual, quirky, and unique while also apparently not understanding that it makes them a stereotype. It's a low IQ female hobby.

that's only if you actually believe them to have magic powers. But yeah, that might as well be the majority considering how many women believe in shit like horoscopes, "positive energies" and similar trash.

Barbarian Prince, my party is still fighting the Amazon's, I keep getting 9s, 4s, 6, which are numbers that don't entail any damage to the opponents. Sometimes, the Dice are capricious. Gotta tweak the battle once more. Call me a simpleton, but the Fighting Fantasy combat system is not that bad in these circumstances.

I've never met a woman interested in tarot cards who also said "It's just fun, I don't believe in it." If they did I wouldn't have that opinion, lol. Not because I hate spirituality or "magic", but because a lot of the women into it just wear it as a fashion statement and are as shallow as a puddle when it comes to their actual depth and understanding of anything spiritual.

Since wizards in Barbarian Prince don't have much magic in them, so far I have only encountered wizards with Combat Skills and Endurance and that's all (just like everybody else), I decided to give them some of the basic spells in Final Fantasy. Let's see what happens.
