You should build a control deck. Talrand can be built on a budget. You can even build a Talrand control deck with Leveler and Thoracle as your only creatures then sneak a combo win through mass polymorph. If Thoracle is gay, you can do it with Laboratory Maniac and some kind of draw to increase the number of pieces in your combo and give your opponents more room for interaction.

A lot of hatebears cards get pricey because they're very spashable and if they're powerful enough they just block off a whole aspect of the game until dealt with, so they become quite desirable.

Selesnya is very cheap and forgiving colors because a lot of good green cards are common/uncommon.

I've been playing stax/hatebears at my LGS for a few weeks now, and while there's occasional grumbles I've actually been pretty happy with how it's gone down. I think we're entering a new era where stax isn't as hated as it once was. I think the trick is to avoid cards that fuck with lands. People fucking hate lands not untapping. If it were me I'd run Dogmeat in a heartbeat. He cooks ahead of Cloud nicely and you can hold your junk until you have mana open for what you're topdecking (bonus points if you scry it out).

My voltron deck is straight white, so I can't tell you what green and red are going to give you beyond that, but I think you're looking at a kinda midrange strategy. Get the main man 3 more power and suit up the rest of your lads and crack heads; you can give the dog a sword too.

You're kinda spoiled for choice in the set proper too, Barrett or Furion or the other Barrett will give you a lot of room to start your own personal revolution.

I'm unhappy with my decks. They all feel like I'm trying to build some elaborate machine that takes too long to set up and gets too easily interrupted. They have a respectable winrate, but are often threading on the edge while really wrecking my nerves.
I think I need a deck that doesn't durdle around with counters, tokens, or constant triggers that trigger more triggers.

build a sans black deck. clearly you love golgari, but black is your most preferred colour. learn to play without it. maybe even go jeskai so you don't have green as another usual fallback colour that you are used to. i'm the same way, i have a shitload of B reanimator decks. to branch out i built vadrok mutate. it is still a grave based deck, but of a very different flavour. i really like vadrok over the aftermath narset because the spells don't get exiled and you can cast the same spells from your grave over and over. then, you run a few clone spells like quasiduplicate and cackling counterpart. clone your mutate stack (which is not a legendary creature anymore due to how mutate works), return the original stack to your hand, then throw vadrok under the new mutate creature. if you are lucky and do this a few times, you can have multiple vadrok triggers per mutation because you keep mutating on a token that has all the previous mutations. it's such a stupid mechanic, i love it.

I don't really think about my decks in terms of "win cons" but here goes:
Idk the typical stuff, etb stuff or aggro, I would say standout cards for me have been threefold thunder hulk and boss's chaffeur, patron of the arts and witch enchanter. I also have a Jaxis deck so it was fun coming up with different cards for balloon man, since the balloon is only a 1/1 you have to be more creative with the aggro options. So creatures that come into play with one one counters are great, other than that white has some amazing etb's that he can take advantage of. Boros is amazing colors for this archetype, since most other entries are mono red and then saheeli. Imo balloon man is best because white is such an insane color, you get to remove all permanents.

Another card that goes wild with him is Nesting Dovehawk, because you get to keep the populated token permanently.

He goes infinite with village bell ringer if that's your thing, personally I don't run infinite combos because I think it's gay

He ends up being a good mix of utility and aggro, at least the way that I built him.

You can't just solely focus her down and kill her creatures in normal EDH, there are two other players to worry about and spending all of your removal on one deck leaves you open to get buttfucked by the two other ones. Even at high power you can't afford to blow tons of cards roasting all of the evasive attackers. Brawl incentives running a crap ton of single removal and control is a very real archetype in there. It's not really "go wide" is the thing. You're making tokens but unless you do shenanigans (sundial, populate) to make them permanent they go away at the end of the turn. And unless you do more shenanigans(token/ability doublers) it's only one balloon per turn. So it's not really the same thing as like a classic orzhov "I have 200 tokens". The play pattern is more that you play an important piece and you clone it, impact the board.
It's more similar to a go tall but its a bit more tactical because the balloon is small.

So again, you can build him to make the tokens permanent but there is an opportunity cost for that. He's also sorcery speed so you can't make a token on an opponents turn. This list has been performing much better than I expected. Pic isn't the exact deck I'm running at this moment, I made some cuts/replacements since. But it's fairly resilient to board wipes so long as you don't overextend and play into your ramp.

My Calamity deck is one of my favorite to play. Being able to get 2 different etbs or just two of the same one is really good. Horses are really cool too and the haste at least makes up for high CMC.

I have played ryonia, Jaxis, feldon and delina
Out of those I kept feldon and Jaxis
Feldon is too cool in mono red very unique build because of the gy focus
Jaxis is super cool with the card draw and smoothe out your game
Delina is good if you like to gamble
Rionya is remove on sight sadly but importantly I didn't like how she played with the mix of creatures and non creatures

Counter blitz deck has a very nice “level up” and “party” theme, with few creatures making big attacks, and a recurring threat in Sin, the set might get flak for being soulless UB slop but if you like final fantasy and cohesive themed decks they did a great job with this one.

Lyse isn't the worst character, but after going on adventures with Alphinaud all through HW, Lyse's screentime almost invariable was "Lyse is also here" until it's "Lyse is instrumental in this... somehow." She's weirdly prominent without having a real strong arc, like she was picked out of a hat as "the scion that gets to go on all the adventures this expansion", only hers was the only name in the hat because ALA MIGO BELONGS TO THE ALA MIGANS.

She's not like criminally bad or even annoying, she's just a massive shrug.

As a 1.0 player, I just hate Lyse on principle.

There's really 2 options:
Slow and steady - tons of cards create a zombie every turn/when something dies/etc. Have several out and create several zombies passively
Fast - there's quite a few cards out that will create X 2/2 zombies in a different ways/timings. Also stuff like Necrotic Hex exists

I go for a reanimator strategy with Zul Ashur. Tons of low cost zombies, lots of self mill, and then numerous mass reanimate spells.
Results in a deck that goes wide and is heavily resilient to removal.
Less boring than tokens IMO
