As long as you play with real people you actually know, and not just pretend to be playing with imaginary internet boogiemen, you don't actually have to ban anything because they already understand what is acceptable at your table and what isn't. (And accidental assholery is dealt with with simply: "Dude, that was kind of shitty." "My bad, I won't do it again".)

There was definitely more of that behavior back in the era when staying home was boring. So if you were a geek guy you might join an RPG because you wanted to see your friends even if you didn't like RPing. And then start trying to destroy the game so you could pivot towards a more casual hangout.

It's less common now that people can just stay home and binge-stream but I still see it sometimes.

It's both anti-fun to have your character agency taken away and be forced into a specific action because mind control and anti-narrative to have the reason a character does something that they otherwise would not have done be simply because mind control. Plus, everyone who's ever wanted to use anything beyond something like a basic Suggestion spell has been really weird about it.

I've seen this one done well, but I have to know the player. As long as it is legitimately a character flaw, and not the player trying to argue with the GM about the setting, it can be a fascinating way to explore the relationship between mortal experience and divine presence, especially when you start getting into WHY the character can't accept the truth. But, again, that requires that the character not be a mouthpiece.

I've had some fuck awful tiefling snowflakes but also some really chill tiefling players that lean into the initial fear their fiendish appearance brings and the interparty dynamics of navigating those prejudices. Monopoly and Uno are banned unless played RAW.
That simple qualifier keeps people from ever wanting to play them. Shame because Monopoly RAW only takes around 45 minutes which is pretty damn fast for a four player game.

I loan a lot of games out to a buddy who hosts a Board Game Club for the elementary school he teaches at and the only board game he had to ban was Bonk!
Apparently the game itself was fine, but since you play two on two with a limited resource for pushing the wooden ball around with metal balls, having a partner who sucks at hitting the wooden ball while spamming your metal balls was grounds for a straight up fist fight among the autists who play board games.

That last one is what knowledge skills are for, in DnD at least (though it comes up in a variety of other games too). Players should not assume to know anything that wouldn't be very obviously guessable, and you as the DM/GM can feel free to offer some freebie info based on context clues or just directly to a player character with a high enough knowledge skill that you feel like they know basics.
