I don’t like spoon feeding retards but you can make infinite characters here
Would you rather your DM handed you these or just a page of college ruled for your inventory? What you can do is, is have say the top row say M.agic I.tem Sack under container, keep the item space empty, CL is the weight of everything in it combined and ML is it's ML. Then you list everything in it below that in the item part and it's weight under CL.

>>95896921It's a neat source book with cool classes and subclasses, but it's a shit rule book if you sit down and look at the changes they added

You have Disadvantage on attack rolls against any target other than the grappler.>Movable. The grappler can drag or carry you when it moves, but every foot of movement costs it 1 extra foot unless you are Tiny or two or more sizes smaller than it.
>>95896921The PHB and MM changes are mostly good. Combat feels faster and more fluid as more effects happen without calling for saves and there are more abilities that move things around the battlefield.
The DMG is nearly unusable as there are almost no rules or procedures for actually running the game: generating and populating dungeons, random tables, making new spells, items, or monsters (the guidance they give is garbage). It does have good treasure tables and I use the encounter and travel tables.

>>95899712sorry sweaty but a good dm should just come up with all those things. If you complain about 5e limitations then you are a bad dm. The DMG should only say that rolling 20 is better than rolling 19 and the rest should be 200 pages of AI art showing inclusive folkx

>>95900057>>95900126i think that you can make it fit the campaign better and there is a change in perspective, the lone wolf ranger wanting a companion to aid him when the stakes are bigger, the regular cleric/warlock now being chosen by whatever god is part of the adventure, paladin in 5e was always an oath to himself and that giving him powers
>>95900057Cleric is also a bit baffling. You’re the prophet of a god, but they won’t tell you who they are, just that you need to spread their word.

>>95900246sorcerer is that you have innate magics, you are now being able to channel your bloodline better as you have gotten more adept at magic
>>95900057Just ask the players to lock in their subclass choice when creating the character, it's as simple as that.
>>95900260Yeah, if the player isn’t roleplaying an initiate or junior of the subclass while a lower level prior to lv3 wtf are they doing
>>95898725I like to play cleric, and it’s because I like to play healers a lot in games. While I like the sunshine and rainbows idea a bit it’s moreso about playing God and preventing deaths to me. >>95900251>sorcerer is that you have innate magics>the sorcerer is magic...because he just is ok?!?!it's a dumb concept to take away the magical bloodline from a magical bloodline class calling it a class is dumb too, but that's a different discussion

Two dwarves are walking in Waterdeep one day - one has a gold piece the other has 8 silver. They see a sign at an alchemy shop "Turn you into an elf for 9 silver!".
So the one with a gold piece says "I'll go in, if it works come out and give you the silver".
He comes out and he's an elf! Tall, thin, pointy ears, pale and beautiful with golden hair and magical eyes.
The other dwarf says "My Moradin's Hammer, it worked! Quick, give me the silver piece!"
The elf says "Get a job, digger" and struts off.
>>95896921Heavily mixed bag. Some things are improvements, some are awful, but the most important thing to keep in mind is that the roll-out of it was a massive fucking mess - an absolute failure - and DND is hurting because of that more than anything else.

>>95898725The first character I played was a Cleric in pathfinder
I find they work pretty well for beginners - right out of the box you have a set of beliefs for your character, easily understandable ties to the setting, and you pretty much always have something your guy can be doing at any point in time. You can get a lot into your character by thinking about your Diety and why your character follows them
They also are not super fragile (which is good for the newbie who doesn’t understand combat positioning), teach spells and spellcasting in one of the more accessible manners, and are generally wanted in the party by other players.
Clerics are great for beginners
>>95901651>Titty armour>Tippy toesWhy?
>>95898725>>95901424I'm playing a gnome cleric in my first game right now taken because I really wanted to play a support role that won't immediately get melted and can stand a chance in melee
Backstory is she teamed up with a dwarf paladin to hunt undead in the name of their similarly-aligned gods playing fantasy Ghostbusters. Eventually they get roped into the campaign investigating a haunting at the same time the rest of the party arrive on the scene for their own reasons.
>>95901424Speaking of pathfinder, why in the 10+ years of 5e have they not made a trapper ranger? Rangers are outdoorsman, known for being hunters and TRAPPERS.
It blows my mind that such a simple idea hasn't been implemented. Every ranger subclass has to be more outlandish or magical than the last. What about a trapper? or a Strength based ranger that's just a survivalist lumberjack? Or an cutthroat that uses natural poisons?
>>95901900Because that sounds boring
>>95901900Because you don't need subclasses devoted to those simple concepts. You can currently play as any of those.
>>95901979You sound gay.
>>95902023We have ranger with animal, ranger with dragon, ranger who hunts, and ranger who hunts monster, all of which are simple concepts. And that's a good thing, simple is not bad.
>You can currently play as any of those.Playing as a trapper is not very feasible, off the top of my head, for traps there are
>alarmnon combat
>snare1 minute cast
>cordon of arrowsweak, strogner than before by still weak
>glyph of wardingdecent, but third levle and expensive
And maybe a few more, I can't think of. and a paul Bunyan inspired ranger would be sick as shit.
>>95901900>>95902099Buy some rope, nets, hunting traps, tripwires, and whatever else you want to make a trap out of and set it up. The other anon is right, you don't need a subclass to make traps.
>>95901900That shouldn't be a subclass, it should be a suite of abilities available to any ranger. That's like asking why there aren't separate rogue subclasses for daggers, rapiers, and crossbows.
>>95902099>non combatYou mean like all traps, since the entire point of traps is to avoid combat?
>>95902099The fact that you think of spells when talking about traps is both hilarious and pathetic.
>>95901900I don’t disagree that a trapping focused thing would be neat, but 1 - you run into the problem that you can set things up but you still need the enemies to walk into them or they’re useless, and b- traps (the existent set of caltrops, bear traps, and ball bearings) sorta suck and only even kinda work with low level Thief Rogues
>a Strength based ranger that's just a survivalist lumberjack?That’s a barbarian
>Or an cutthroat that uses natural poisons?Rogue Assassin
>>95902173>it should be a suite of abilities available to any ranger. In a perfect world, sure. But 5e character power is either
>spell>feat>subclassand magic items, but that is entirely up to the DM on whether you get any
You can't expect all DMs to be reasonable about creating things that aren't explicit, even when rules for them technically exist, pic related
on two occasion I tried playing a mechanical based trapper, one as an assassin rogue, the other as an alchemist artificer.
The artificer was a kobold acting as a priest of Gaknulak that has several blankets with glued on debris like leaves, sticks, sand, dirt etc. to act as cover and he had the mold earth cantrip as a racial, so I often created pitfalls traps, but the DM was a dick and everyone ignore the traps and moved around them as if they spotted them. I gave up on making traps 3 sessions into that that campaign when a zhentarim on a horse moved over one the space where I had a trap and when I pointed it out the DM says "the horse jumped over it"

but the setpiece doesnt need to be directly there
ideas I have so far
>an ice troll with a lair with cave den with of water holes, when he walks near they freeze over and whoever is stuck underwater gets trapped
>machine/portal closing summons increasingly powerful frostfell creatures
>the aboleth agents that dont want the portal closed/mcguffin found first fight wearing human skins but then transform into deep scions and other aberrations

>blizzardvisibility reduced to 30ft
CON saves every hour they travel/aren't warming up in the dungeon
treat the dungeon as if they are outside
include tons of difficult terrain, as well as 2x2, 4x4, or 3x3 areas of slippery ice hidden under fresh snow (if it snowed/is snowing DC 14 passive perception to notice, DC 12 dex save to prevent falling)
as for encounters, ice and m̶u̶̶̶d̶ snow mephits. Snow mephits can create difficult terrain of death/snow breath and the ice mephits can cast fog cloud which is fucking brutal for casters. you can even include the mephits as environment hazards or traps ratherthan actual encounters.
>>95903352>index cardsA pad or notebook is probably better because it keeps it in chronological order for you, which is nice.
But to be frank - don’t worry about it. If it’s your first time playing it’s not your job to be the note-taker, let someone else do that until you’ve become more comfortable just playing the game.
And even once you’re at that point, you don’t need to be super comprehensive with everything - they’re notes, not a book. The point is to aid your hopefully functional memory. If you meet a character, jot down their name, where you met them, some identifying feature (i.e. blacksmith, pickpocket, archeologist, hates our guts, etc.). That’s usually enough. Same with locations - unless you’re drawing out a dungeon map (again - if you’re new not your fucking job) just write down enough that it’ll help you remember. I.e. Right Passage -> Small Shrine, Fountain of blood guarded by skeletons. It doesn’t have to be a lot.
What about being classless until the 3rd level?
I think my biggest pet peeve about Eldritch knight is that the war bond weapon limit doesn't scale.
I wish you could bond with PB number of weapons instead of just 2. if I play an EK, I want to bond to 2 lightning javelins ketch filled with like, 4-5 lightning javelins
>>95904143thats an ice devil
>>95903732You sound insane right now.
>>95903732>>95904319This only works in a specific setting, like strixhaven. where everyone just starts out as a "magic student" and then gets their class features after finish some kinda test.

Spell tl;dr
>You can cast spells faster by expending double spell slots
>You can complete (cast this for a year) conditions but are locked out of the spell slot until you pay it back
Would I be retarded to introduce this into my game?
We're on Gritty Realism, and I don't HAVE to give this spell to the players, I was going to have an NPC do this originally, they're definitely going to ask though.
>>95904917Fuck forgot image
>>95903379Nta, but I encourage metagaming in my games.
Players rarely take advantage of it, but I tell them off the bat that if they ask me a spoiler question, I am willing to answer it, I'll always double check by saying " Your character wouldn't know this, are you sure you want to know?". Only gotten like 2 affirmatives to that question, but it really helped to deescalate when a player felt they had gotten gotcha'd when in reality they just missed/forgot something.
People can only rise to the expectations set for them, so when you give your players your trust, they actually behave better in my experience.
>>95904920>has a material component with a priceHow do you cast another spell with its own material components as part of casting this?

You can of course always just ask the dm, but to be given permission by the game itself would make it feel more sanctioned and alright. Other examples include Tempest cleric not having access to lightning bolt or chain lightning.

>Bro with tits and a pussy.>Imminent Problem. If you pay attention you can tell which one they are pretty quick. Though unfortunately it's "gatekeeping," "misogynistic" and socially unacceptable to cull preemptively, so it's more about just preventative damage control, making sure they can do the least amount of disruption when the timebomb blows.
AMAB and AFAB trannies only come in Imminent Problem, so I can only assume it's got something to do with serum estrogen levels. Though since some guys are Imminent Problems too if they have small dog insecurity syndrome, maybe it's low serum testosterone instead.

>>95906685>>95906796>>95906809Jokes aside, I don't hold any inherent prejudice towards women at my table, but you can instantly tell when one's going to be an issue. My irl group I DM for has my two buddies and they bring their wives, and they're completely fine. Maybe a bit goofy but the characters they make are good, honest people. Ones a mom who wants to be this big cool hero for her kids, and the other one wants to go on a big adventure so she can write/publish a best selling story.
My kvetching is for an online game Im a player in, and no way am I trusting a fucking woman who describes her character as someone who's interested in drama and pot stirring. Immediate red flag that you're a selfish cunt who wants to fuck with other people for your own sense of entertainment. It's about as subtle and trustworthy as a male player saying his character wants to flirt with bar maids and pound pussy. Massive red flag and I've suffered through this shit before. It fucking sucks and I have zero tolerance for it.
I engage with the hobby to adventure and engage with other people. Not to be a daytime soap opera for some femcel fujoshi.
>>95906809It's the Neuroticism OCEAN personality trait. High neuroticism
Women trend much higher on neuroticism. Trannies have sky high neuroticism basically as a rule, I wouldn't even be surprised if there's a direct casual link, a chill and stable person certainly isn't going to go "my body doesn't line with cultural gender norms, so I must mutilate my body."
But then of course some guys are still neurotics.
>>95906819I have to be very knowledgeable/close to a couple to be tolerant of DM/Player partner dynamic exactly for shit like this. Retarded favoritism and how more often then not the gf doesn't give a fuck about the game, she just has an inherent need to insert herself in her partners hobbies.

>>95906662>Tempest cleric not having access to lightning boltwhat's even the point of playing one then
>>95907123Well, chain lightning is a 6th level spell and 5th level is the cut off point of domain spells. If it was me, I would make domain spells reach up to the 9th level though only one per level after 5th level.
Speaking of, I made an "updated" domain spell list for Tempest cleric. Do you think it's reasonable?
##### Tempest domain spells
| Cleric level | Spells |
|:----:|:-------------|
| 1st | *thunderwave*, *fog cloud*, *gust* |
| 3rd | *shatter*, *misty step* |
| 5th | *lightning bolt*, *tidal wave* |
| 7th | *storm sphere*, *freedom of movement* |
| 9th | *destructive wave*, *cone of cold* |

>*shatter*, *misty step*gust of wind is a great utility spell, and "misty" does not correlate to a storm. This is munchkinery
>*lightning bolt*, *tidal wave*sleet storm is a great spell and call lightning is underrated both for combat and theme, but I won't hate on giving them lighting bolt. Tidal wave is totally storm related as well but not as cool as call lighting imo, nor as good as sleet storm, but it passes.
>*storm sphere*, *freedom of movement*storm sphere is meh, but tracks, and does give you a bonus action to use. Freedom of moment is in not storm related in the least, and is also munchkinery. Losing out on the utility of control water is criminal, and you should be pushed and land elbow first onto some 8d4s
>*destructive wave*, *cone of cold*cone of cold is on brand, but insect plague is a whole other level of thematic, of literal biblical proportions.
All in all, it feels like you traded all your utility for big timmy spells or "meta" spells. 3/10
Personally, i'd just give them a new channel divinity at 6th level: Storm Bolts
>Starting at 2nd level, you can use your Channel Divinity to wield bolts of lightning from both hands forming a 50-foot-long, 10-foot-wide Line blasts out from you in a direction you choose. Each creature in the Line makes a Dexterity saving throw, taking 8d6 Lightning damage on a failed save or half as much damage on a successful one. Creatures who fail their save by 5 or more are pushed 15 feet horizontally away from the lighting lines.>but my onetrick!Having a girthier lighting bolt on a short rest is cooler
What are some difficulties with developing a setting based in an isolated, insular, biologically successful, stagnant society?
I want a genuine sandbox for my players to make their own, and I want both magic and technology something that they themselves usher about within the setting.
>>95907691Was thinking of keeping gust of wind cuz it needs rp spells and it's very fitting. Freedom of movement I agree but not sure what spell to use for that level. Destructive Wave was only chosen since it has thunder damage, but insect plague one of my favorite spells so maybe I should change it back.

>Is this one of them kingdom building isekais?I don't understand. Is this a common trope? Ultimately, this is going to be up to my players to decide. This is new territory for all of us, and it's going to rely on a generous amount of both player and DM fiat to function. It's risky, but I like what materials I have so far and I'm willing to allow it to crash and burn.
>>95907970Search Labs | AI Overview
The subgenre of isekai where the protagonist builds a civilization is often referred to as kingdom-building isekai or village-building isekai, depending on the scale of the civilization being created. It's a popular variation within the broader isekai genre, where characters are transported to another world and then use their knowledge or abilities to establish and develop a society
minus the isekai bit I suppose.

The modules in the book seem to work really well with four players but it says they can go up to six (might need to toss in an extra cultist or two). If everyone who's interested shot me an email I could get it sorted out from there. FYI for potential players, this will be my first full campaign I'm running so I'll probably be more focused on just running the modules from the book with the really cool Censer of Dreams as the home base and Nafas as the patron rather than weaving the characters' backstories into the campaign (something I'll start doing once I'm a more experienced DM of course).

That aside, this is a bad spell. >Passive Percpetion Score (PPS) equals 10 plus a creature's Wisdom score plus their Perception proficiency bonus, if they have it and is a sense like any other such as blindsight, tremorsense, darkvision etc. and has a range (30ft)
>Outside of this range, a creature that can't be seen nor detected is effectively hidden
>Passive Stealth Score (PSS) equals 10 plus a creature's Dexterity score plus their Stealth proficiency bonus, if they have it, and is used when a creature cannot be seen but doesn't use the hide action.
If your PPS beats an unseen target's PSS, you know where a target is even if you can't see them and can target a square they are standing in to make an attack at disadvantage. If your PPS does not beat an unseen target's PSS, you do not know where they are, but you can make an educated guess based on other factors such as last known location, where an attack came from, a loud noise, etc. and can target a square to make an attack at disadvantage.
>example:
A tricksy gnome walks up to the party, hidden and invisible and kicks the rogue in the balls and tee hees away, his invisibility still unbroken but is no longer hidden. The druid, fighter, and barbarian now measure up their PPS against the gnomes PSS,15.
passive perception scores
>Fighter:14
>Barbarian: 12
>Druid: 22 (has advantage)
>Rogue:9 (has disadvantage because his eyes are shut, blind from the pain of having his balls kicked)
>Initiative is rolled
>The druid sees the faint foot steps that most others would miss and hears the ever so quiet giggling and casts faerie fire target the space around the gnome
>Everyone sees the gnome outlined in violet flames, it is no longer invisible
Does this work? What situations or rules could come up for this to not work? I just really hate how vague passive perception is currently.

>>95916107Psionics always interacted with the rest of the game mechanics, it just wasn't spellcasting and so didn't interact with rules around it, the same way that swinging a sword isn't casting a spell and casting a cantrip isn't firing an arrow. Mystic needed polish and a few balance passes, but it was a far more interesting way of approaching psionics as something distinct from magic--and it' was a HELL of a lot more interesting than "psionic" meaning "has a dice pool," especially when there are non-psionic character options that still involve dice pools.

A Christian group in roll20 is looking for more to join a CoS campaign. I'm thinking of joining just for the lols.
>>95922173I wrote a script for session 0 and session 1 for before the players get to the module but it's written for playing in foundry. Just a little Hollow Knight (finally getting around to playing it, I'm at the trial of fools), then I'll do that.
>session time
>discord server gone
>foundry game not up
Bros? I'm not feeling so good...
>>95922373you got kicked? lol what did you do
>>95922361>I wrote a scriptAbort
>>95922443Nothing as far as I can tell. I was even in an enthusiastic discussion about our recent level up with another player an hour ago. I can't even tell if I was kicked or if the DM just nuked the game, which isn't uncommon in online games. But he's been pretty enthusiastic about running and has been talking about extending the module, so that seems even more unlikely.
I can still SEE the foundry game and it keeps saying "last played: now" but it also says it's offline. I don't think it's possible to just block a foundry player without outright removing them. Very confused. DM hasn't blocked me either, but hasn't said anything.
>>95922708what have the other players said?
>>95922744Server's gone and I never added them directly so trying to get their users for messaging is a pain. I think I've recalled one of them and sent a "you know what's going on?" message, but I'm yet to receive a reply
Alright lads, whats the most broken action for this class feature? Should I make the DC on the post-mortem higher? Also is the Azure Arcana feature enough of a boon that I could remove the benefit granted by applied research?
>>95923221Stop trying to make blue mage a thing
It’s shitty vidya slop
>>95923248Sorry anon, its fun. Also the whole subclass isn't a blue mage, I just gave the feature that name as a nod.
>>95923221>Alright lads, whats the most broken action for this class feature? Are you willing to trawl through every monster ever published, anon? Because that's what you'll need to check for edge cases and broken actions..
>Should I make the DC on the post-mortem higher?Make sure you've balanced the base ability first. "I made this ability OP so I'll make sure it never actually works in practice" is bad balancing.
But also it's breakable with expertise. You probably want to do something about that.
IMO you need to change applied research's function. So far this entire thing is so wildly dependent on what the DM throws at you that it gains the problems of 2014 ranger. Either you get dogshit abilities and can't predict creature types, or you know what you're facing and have strong abilities and now it's weirdly strong. I'd give it something more consistent that the player has more control over.
>>95923366>Are you willing to trawl through every monster ever published, anon? Because that's what you'll need to check for edge cases and broken actions.I was mostly just going to trawl through the core monster manual, so far so good. Most stuff that would be broken are bonus actions. But yes, i am fortunately autistic enough to do that.
>Make sure you've balanced the base ability first. "I made this ability OP so I'll make sure it never actually works in practice" is bad balancing.Good point, thanks anon. At the end of the day I want players to use the ability so I'll keep it as is. Maybe add disadvantage if the CR rating is a certain level above the player level.
>So far this entire thing is so wildly dependent on what the DM throws at you that it gains the problems of 2014 ranger. Good point, I'll change it to a bonus action they can activate if they've post-mortemed that type of creature before. Thanks again anon.
>>95923221The sphinx thing where you move 10 years backwards or forwards through time.
>>95893556 (OP)>Parties Cleric wants to be a frontliner>Keeps charging into every fight despite not being built around doing that>Nearly dies every single time because he's always taking aggro>Says it's fine because it's what his character would do>Spams "Shatter" as his only attack most times despite not needing to get right up in front of the enemy because it's a ranged spell>Buy our Cleric some basic chain mail armor so they have high AC since they keep doing this shit>Last game we fought a Fire Elemental and our Cleric got fucking torched after running up to it>Afterwards ask why he never used any healing spells during the fight>"I don't have any healing spells prepared">Our healer doesn't have healing spells prepared>Can only heal people by using the Chef feat because they're suppose to be a CookOur Clerics gonna die, he's gonna die Larping as a Frontliner despite the fact he has consistently gotten Bitched every time and I as a Conjuration Wizard could just summon a Creature to fill the role as Third Frontliner if we need it
>>95924226>Our healereat a dick.
>>95924226>I as a Conjuration Wizard could just summon a Creature to fill the role as Third Frontliner if we need itThen why aren't you doing so? You could have a fourth frontliner and divide the damage by one more part
>>95924296What are (you) even on about
>>95924302>Then why aren't you doing so?I have, doesn't stop the Cleric from doing that though
How can life domain be improved? It's no longer THE healer in 5e.
What's up, I'm starting a campaign at level 4 and I chose to play as a berserker barbarian (2024), but the thing is, I'm pretty new to this and I don't know what to do. Should I choose a particular feat or get the stats? And what weapons are best for me?
thanks
>>95924226>>95924307Clerics aren't inherently healers
What is his domain
>>95924401>THE healerWas never really a thing. Shepherd Druid with Life Cleric dip was best at it. Healing numbers were buffed in 2024, but not in a meaningful way. It's more ideal to heal out of combat, and use spells to mitigate or end the encounter sooner.
>How to improve life clericDouble healing. It's such a dogwater go-to play, that it balances out.
>>95924401>How can life domain be improved?Replace revivify with life transference on their life domain spell list. It is a stupidly big heal for a 3rd level spell slot.
>heals an addtional 5 hit points from disciple of life.>heals the cleric 5 hit points from the necortic damage from blessed healer.>any other healing you perform will also restore the necrotic damage taken.>It's no longer THE healer in 5e.Debatable. It has free healing from the healing you'd normally be doing so if you're also getting into the thick of it, you're output is pretty good. Grave might have bigger single target heals, but that comes with the risk of letting players fall that low.
Life does much better with heavy armor master as well if you'm constantly getting chipped.
>>95924528>>95924528>Was never really a thing. Shepherd Druid with Life Cler-So a life cleric then?
Retard.
>>95924528>Double healingThat's too much, the new Grave is getting maximum values on healing downed creatures and that's already disgustingly good
>>95924589>the new Grave is getting maximum values on healing downed creaturesThat was always a thing.
>>95924618Then an upgrade for life shouldn't invalidate it; there should be some specific circumstance to get a bonus of that magnitude like only when the healed creature is above half health
>>95924401Double healing but in a more meaning ful way - healing done by a Life Cleric applies when you cast it and also gives a healing die ala bardic inspiration you can use after taking damage (probably within the next turn for balance reasons).
The extra die can bring back people who’ve been knocked under when they’ve actually taken damage to that point, so it can do the only important thing in-combat healing does with a lot better action economy.
>>95924575>1 life cleric / 19 shepherd druidDid you need me to say Shepherd Druid? Special needs.
What is the 5e equivalent to PF's Witch?
>>95922356>we removed all content related to demonology>this is a mature game, it deals with demons
>>95924639Firstly no, Life gets a constant bonus to all healing from spells cast with spell slots on that turn fucking word salad, grave gets a larger bonus to one specific situation, a downed player, which is a risk and reward.
Life also has a large heal via its channel divinity, which is on a short rest and costs no long rest resources.
>5th level grave cleric casts cure wounds at 3rd level on a downed player>52 healing (+4 wis mod)Actually disgusting. But that's overkill for even the average barb of that level, so let's say 2nd level
>36Still disgustingly huge.
>5th level life cleric Preserves life for 25 healing on a downed playernot as much, but still has all its spell slots, can still do this again, and regain this on a short rest. That's 75 healing for 1 short rest as long as the target is under half hit points, and it's efficient. You can freely split the healing to any other sub 50% HP targets to any creatures within 30 feet, its ranged.
And when you look at healing word, the disparity dwindles.
>5th level grave cleric casts healing word at 1st level on a downed player2d4+4 healing is 12, substantial, and at second level that's 20 healing which is phenomenal.
>5th level life cleric casts healing word at 1st level on a downed player2d4+4+3, healing 9-15 which averages about the same. And at second level that's 10-23, which is on average less.
Now you can say "white room" all you'd like, but grave cleric bigf pay off requires
>you to be near a downed player>a downed playerWhich is why I think its bonus healing is fair compared to life.
But when you throw prayer of healing into the mix? or mass healing word healing 2d4+4+5 per target? Life cleric goes hard.
>>95924434its pretty easy to start w/ a 17 in a stat and grab a half feat a lv 4 to bring it up to 18. great weapon master is good as it adds damage to your attacks and grants +1 to str. if youre going that way, grab any two handed weapon w/ mastery you think is fun.
you can combo things like push / crusher which could be fun. or you can go two weapon fighting with a nick weapon and another light weapon and stack damage from your rage sources (note you'll not get the extra damage from your str in your light extra attack but its still not awful while raging and two weapon fighting is less ideal on barbarian because of it).
>>95924671That's still a life cleric as well.
>>95924937Did it occur to you that maybe Shepherd Druid is the best healer? Is the best build of every class a dip into 19 levels of wizard, or can we not be disingenous for 1 post?
