Updated galaxy map from the acolyte visual guide
No one will care, but I've looked into the acolyte book and there are some Sith reveals.
>The Stranger is not Plagueis' apprentice. He's just a random dark Jedi and Plageuis arrived to see what was going on
>The Stranger could be another potential apprentice of Tenebrous or an acoloyte of him.
It seems that they planned for a larger Sith story before the show was cancelled. They should've just done a Sith mystery story instead of the actual steaming hot pile of shit we got.
>>95903740It's funny because there was a good show somewhere in there and some of the characters (SOL) had a lot of potential, it just really shat the bed.
>>95903740>all of the good stuff is relegated to sourcebooks instead of the actual showjesus christ
>>95903754Yep. There was an interesting story around the jedi and the hidden sith that should've been 90% of the show. Instead 90% of the show was the bad writing and acting of the twins and the show runner putting in her own shitty fanfic story instead of working on a good star wars one.
>>95903759>>all of the good stuff is relegated to sourcebooks instead of the actual showMost visual guides are like that I find with Star Wars, except for the rise of Skywalker which is a comedy book which basically says we don't know how the Emperors throne room is intact, don't ask why.

>>95903670>>95903677>>95903680>>95903680>>95903681This might be the most detailed galaxy map officially released. It also recanonizes a whole bunch of old EU systems. Too bad tgey decided to stick it in the Acolyte guide for some godforsaken reason, and no way I'm getting that just for a nice map.
>>95903844Black. I just think it's neat.
>>95903844Is shit brown available? I need to blend in with the shit troopers.
>>95903844I've always had a liking to orange blades
>>95903681>Bothan SpaceHas Disney even bothered to explain what Bothans are in Disney canon?
>>95904414They are furries in the EU.
>>95904414probably saving it for a cringe tales of the rebellion episode showing how they got the death star 2 plans
>>95903740After Obi-Wan I've decided that maybe not every Star Wars show out there is worth watching, so I've skipped the Acolyte. Still, I've checked out Qimir's scenes and they were pretty good, he deserves at least a five issue comic book
>>95904570He was the only enjoyable part of the show and the choreography was impressive, especially with how bad Ahsoka and Obi Wan were. The actor was at Celebration this year and looked so sad though fair play to him for being the only one to show up.
>>95903831Now, i agree that this show sucks ass, but everyone getting so fucking assblasted by Mundi being there "BeCaUsE iT cOnTrAvEnEs CaNoN sOuRcEs!!!" was kinda hilarious.
The canon source in question was an interactive CD from a Cereal Box released to tie in with Phantom Menace.
>>95904596To be fair to Obi-Wan and Ahsoka, it's not the fight choreography that's improved, it's the Lightsaber props. Those Force FX lightsabers are REALLY heavy and doing the flashy Prequel stuff with them is practically impossible. So, using them, they can only do the heavy A New Hope style stuff.
From what we've heard, they really went back and improved the Lightsaber props to make them much lighter and actually managable. Although i still say they should bite the bullet and go back to the Aluminium sticks. Looked better, weighed nothing, cost nothing, but the FX sabers saves a shitload in edittng, so they keep using them.
>>95904632Good because every lightsaber has looked shit since Disney took over. They're so fucking bright, it's horrible.
>>95903670I was thinking just the other day of an Origins of the Jedi plot. Where the Rakata (on map) weโre bringing shiploads of Force-Sensitives for experimentation and slavery when one shipโs Kyber Crystal reaction mysteriously malfunctions over Ach-To. Forcing a dozen different sects to form a synthesis of beliefs and become the Jedi.
But then I remembered there was no way a story could use the Rakata because they were owned by BioWare.
But the idea of a post-Zeffo, post-Rakata Galaxy ruled by Witch-Cults could work just as well as for the idea.
>>95904647I, for one, like bright and thick lightsabers
>>95904745As contrast to the dark and thick meatsabers you doubtless also prefer? Shove your crappy opinion back up the gaping arsehole it dropped from, Disneysabers are shit like everything else they've dribbled out.
Decided to do Thrawn's Armada from heir to the Empire in my style.

>Picket lines replaced with Arquitens>Close support replaced with gladiators
>>95905032The UK is getting as hot as Hawaii tomorrow so I would expect the Lancashire Coastline to be nice enough for a holiday trip after a heist in the Scottish highlands
>>95903844Green.
Every Jedi's Jedi has a green lightsaber. Luke, Yoda, Qui-Gon.
I did play a bokken Jedi with a green lightsaber. The crystal got stolen by a Hand of the Emperor. I eventually upgraded to a golden bladed crossguard lightsaber, so yellow is also okay to my eyes.
>>95903354 (OP)>TQI used to like them a lot, but the more I've invested in the setting I just don't like them. They verge too much on the ridiculous and they never show up in anything of substance. I have my blorbos among them, like the Assertor, but if I'd ever used them they would be as one-off command ships of Grand Moff Villainous Dude

>>95904414There was an EU Bothan look alike in Filoni's Resistance, but the species was never named.
>>95906588Droid Starfighter.
I like how they can just chill on the hulls of starships.
Also people flying dinky little fighters into battle is a waste of good pilots.
A few squadrons of elite heavy strike fighters that are freighter sized + swarms of disposable droid fighters and interceptors would be my space battle philosophy.
>>95907422The existence of chattel slavery implies that organic life isn't much more expensive than droids, if at all
>>95906588Thanks to the x-wing books I got severly interceptorpilled
>>95905032They filmed Andor S1 entirely in the UK due to Covid I think. I know Gilroy said he wanted to film the Kenari flashbacks in New Guinea or Thailand but had to settle for a park next the Pinewood because of travel restrictions and the budget of ferrying however many kids in a plane over there for that during a pandemic. S2 has more international stuff what with all the French actors they brought in for Ghorman and a lot of stuff being filmed in Spain.
>>95907658Low value chattel slaves probably donโt make a ton of sense as fighter pilots.
>>95907210George cared enough to give his input to it when asked (like with the Force Unleashed), but always saw it as malleable and something he could supersede without a fuss as far back as the Marvel comics going with the early draft of ANH that depicts Jabba as a human pre-Empire Strikes Back.
>>95907874>interceptorwell yes, however
>>95905260>Arquitens>gladiatorsI don't get it anon, you said 'better designed...ships'
>>95904503Which is why I'm confident if they get canonized as looking like anything else, we're going to see a chimpout on the level of the reaction to TLJ or SOMEHOW. Furfags are autistic and tribal, I'm sure the Bothanfags will raise hell.
Frankly, I've seen some cute Bothan grils, even if I've mostly outgrown my own furfaggotry.
>>95903844Last game I played the whole party rolled for lightsaber color (we were all starting as Padawans during the Clone Wars). I didn't want yellow at first, but rolled with it when everyone else in the party also managed to roll yellow.
Slopped up rendition of character.
>>95908685>avengercool, but
>>95906588I just like how weird it looks
Since i apparently hate myself i decided to do the Vengeance Battle Group at scale. The Vengeance herself is so big i had to shrink everything down 50% from my usual scale just to fit it without my computer chunking. Jerec to rolling in with a B I G G U R L.
I had to make some guesstimates for the composition of the picket forces part. I dug into the WEG Imperial Sourcebook for some ship compositions and decided to do a mix of legends and Disney canon ships, just to piss both the EU purists and hardcore Disney fans off at the same time.
https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Vengeance_Battle_Group
>>95909414How do you even staff something like the vengeance or the executor for that matter?
>>95906588Despite being around for the OG trilogy, it's kind of a tie between the ARC-170 and the Eta-2 Actis, for me.
I'm pretty sure the ARC-170 takes a lot of its design cues from the P-61 Black Widow. Nearly the same cockpit placement, same engine placement... Chop off the tail and replace the droid socket with some guns, and the P-61 becomes an ARC-170.
And we know how often Lucasfilm dipped into the WWII well for ideas.
Chop off the tail and replace the dorsal guns with a droid socket, and the P-61 becomes an ARC-170.

>>95909433The Executor (same length as the Vengeance) is stated to have a crew of ~280.000, all personnel included.
As a comparison the USS Enterprise has a maximum crew of 5,828
The Vengeance is pretty much a medium-sized european city (or a large shopping mall for you yanks) in space.
>>95907909Tell that to the Empire
>>95908813Yup and I mean it bud, just because you are a homosexual doesn't mean blocky dildos are a good design. Star Wars is for getting away from gay realism crap, not embracing the autistic part of sci-fi. Fuck off to The Expanse or some shit you total fag.
>>95903831>>95903740feels like you are trying to force yourself to hate it
I liked it for what it was, a tragedy and a romance story, a single shitty EP won't ruin the whole damn thing. Sadly it won't get an ending
>>95908681>Marvel comics going with the early draft of ANH that depicts Jabba as a human pre-Empire Strikes BackFake fan. The comics were based off an actually filmed scene with Han talking to a human Jabba in ANH. That's why the added scene with the digitized version in the Special Edition looks so janky when Han steps over Jabba's tail.
Also, this General just cannot seem to ever talk about traditional fucking games, instead of /tv/ wankery, can it?
Pic sadly unrelated to the cesspool that is this general's standard level of discourse.
>>95909668You will be made to love the superior design language of the EU anon.
>>95910161Ah yes, breaking away from the Danger Dorito design language of the Empire in favor of the Danger Dildos.
>>95910169The Danger Dildos were made specifically to fuck the rebellion
What would be the equivalent starship or fighter to an old Pontiac firebird? Large enough for someone to survive on the road(galaxy) in but not super comfortably
>>95910628Skipray blastboat maybe?
>>95906588my shipfu, forever and always
>>95910161God, the dildo ships look sp ugly and uninspired
>>95909433If you are galaxy spanning Empire with galaxy scale military-industrial complex then you can get as many people you need, especially since it's biggest baddest flagship that everyone wants to be.
It's kinda like HMS Hood, WW1/2 battlecrusier with displacement(weight) and armament of bigest battleship. Despite being WW1 era battlecrusier it had same preformance as german battleship Bismarck. Hood was reason why so many sailors signing up to Royal Naby, everyone wanted to serve on Hood. Ships like that serve as symbol and floating navy ad. This is also why when Hood was sunk because Bismarck got lucky and managed to directly hit ammo magazine, blow to perstige and morale was so high that entire Royal Navy made it's existence about finding and sinking Bismarck as revange.
So empire on galactic scale wouldn't be short of volonteers who joined navy to serve on SSD, ship that's more than 10 times larger than other capital class ships and have firepower to match. Executor or Vengance like all flagships are flashy propaganda tool outside of heavy warship.
>>95910046I'm not forcing myself to hate it. It was genuinely a bad show but it had potential. It was no worse than Obi-Wan personally but I still think they should've finished their story but changed a lot of things going into S2. It was probably cut because it was a money drain without success unlike Andor which was a money drain that has had acclaim.
>>95910860I adore skiprays in empire at war expanded

Her 1 pip usually means that she gets like 7 or 8 hits through with pierce 1 due to Makashi.
>>95907086>love dorky shipsOpinions on the Mankvim?
>>95908681Marvel Jabba was an alien, just a humanoid one (he's specifically one of the aliens from concept art of the cantina scene. I don't remember if that design made it to the film, though). I'm not sure if George always intended Jabba to be an alien but hadn't decided what kind, or if he just didn't care how the character was portrayed since he never made it to the film in the first place (I know he's a guy wearing a fur coat in the deleted scene, but that could have just been a placeholder look until they got a proper costume for the finalized scene that never got filmed).
George generally gave EU writers a free reign as long as they didn't directly contradict what he felt were integral parts of his vision, or cover stuff he intended to work on later. The most famous is him prohibiting anybody from writing about the Clone Wars and Anakin's fall to the dark side because he knew he wanted to tell that story in the films eventually, but there's some other examples as well. Like back when nobody knew what a Sith was other than Vader being called a Sith Lord in the novel and a cut line from the DS1 boardroom scene, the writer of the Lando trilogy correctly surmised that the Sith were an order of evil Force-users and wanted to make the main villain of the trilogy a Sith, but George refused since he was at the time still working out the details of what the Sith should be like and prohibited anybody from writing about them, so the author made his own order of evil Force-users, the Sorcerers of Tund (later on George did allow EU writers to use the Sith, and the Sorcerers were retconned into being a Sith offshoot). Or how Timothy Zahn originally wanted the clone Jedi in Thrawn trilogy be a clone of Obi-Wan, and wanted to use Sith as the name of the aliens that eventually became the Noghri, thus justified Vader's title as a "lord of the Sith" by the species being sworn to serve him. Obviously George shot both ideas down.
>>95903354 (OP)Starting a campaign soon, based on one slight change to history, that Anakin failed at landing half a ship, so no Vader, no Palpatine, and no Obi Wan. The CIS "won" the Clone Wars, and 200 years later the galaxy has shifted from independent planets to mostly stable interstellar governments. The Jedi Order split up after the Republic government was dissolved, several of these regions are home to splinter groups, some joined up with other Force traditions like the Jensaarai or Nightsisters, there's also several darksider traditions out there.
>>95911683what happens to Luke
>>95911725Padme was already pregnant so he's born on Naboo and him and Leia lived mostly peaceful, happy lives, Plo Kloon and Ki Adi Mundi moved to Naboo with a handful of padawans after the Order disbanded and founded a force tradition that still exists in the sector today. Luke and Leia are distinguished figures in it's history, respected as defenders of Naboo space as both guardians and diplomats.
>>95911211yes but in an american state, basically everyone acts the same
in england, you'll go from posh houses and golf courses to subhuman council estates 2 counties over
>>95911591>>95911595I had one game using her where she used saber throw to kill gar saxon and then proceeded to wipe a squad of mandalorians
>>95911825good, fuck mandalorians
>>95911822Mostly true, in Cali if you get more than 50 miles from the coast you'd swear you were in Texas.
>>95907350I think a Lucasfilm employee came out and said that was not a Bothan as they had not yet decided on what Bothans were in nu-canon
>SPECIAL RULES
>Mk IV FCS: As a maneuver, the pilot may activate or deactivate the Mk. IV FCS. While the system is active, the ship's forward-mounted twin light laser cannons' Linked item quality increases to 4, and it gains the Tractor 2 item quality, but only this weapon system can be fired.
So, what happens when you swap out a weapon system?
>>95911683It's kind of funny to think of that Palpatine bet the entire future of the Sith grand plan on his soon to be appretice's ability to successfully land a burning hulk of a spaceship missing its entire aft section. Sure, his abilities as a Force-user probably lets him see the future, but the future isn't entirely determined (if it was he'd have known he couldn't turn Luke and that Vader would kill him), and all you need is one tiny thing to go wrong and the Invisible Hand crashes with no survivors, leaving all the Sith dead and the Republic leaderless.
>>95911902Lore-wise, thhings might keep working, maybe at reduced efficiiency.
I'd say it depends on how radical the changes are.
If you replace the laser cannons with a different model from the same maker, no biig deal.
If you rip out the laser cannons and blasters and put in a pair of bigass ion cannons you looted somewhere, better find somebody with serious mechanic and slicer skils, because that FCS is probably going to tell you to climb a wall of dicks (in binaric)

>>95906588My truest love in Star Wars. I love a non TIE Imp fighter, a non S-Foil INCOM, and a shield but no hyperdrive fighter. Howlrunner is a beautiful meeting point of the three. I even made a model of one to scale for X-Wing 1.0/1.5, but the game died in my area with the 2.0 launch before I get enough interest to start floating the topic of customs for casual games (plan was to recast dozens of them and give them away into the local community along with slightly underpowered cards for it, to float it as an option for casual games).
>>95906588TIE Defender. It's TIE but have all fancy stuff like hyperdrive and shields, while having more firepower than other imperial and rebel fighters, it have ion cannon and proton torpedos because why not.
I fell in love with it moment I used them in Empire at War, you just summon them, they destroy all enemy fighters, then procced to delete enemy larger ships and guess whan, corvette they are supposedly weak against? Well if you have 2 squadrons then just fuck it up with ion cannons, then blast it away with torpedos and cannons.

>>95903354 (OP)>TQA lot of them don't appeal to me aesthetically, but I do like the Mandator/Bellator line for being a take on 'take an ISD and scale it up to it's theoretical endpoint'. The Bellator is probably my favorite SSD design and the only other one I'd like to see used more beyond the original Executor.
>>95906588Aurek. It's just a good, solid snubfighter design.
>>95903844Purple or indigo from canon, outside of canon the black-indigo from swtor is easily my favorite
>>95912417Unironically if they had just made them attractive and put a few of them in skimpy clothing people would have ate it up
>>95912526>lost galactic influence without a state to back it upIt would also lose cohesion without resources, the temple on Coruscant was dismantled as part of the dissolution of the Republic, remember the CIS still won, and they're not fans of the Jedi, Dooku or no Dooku. There was no destruction, no trials, just "it's time to stop." Jocasta Nu took the archives and holocrons elsewhere, the various artifacts were taken to other temples on other worlds, but without Republic resources the largest ship they had for this was the Crucible, and whatever other ships that planetary governments were willing to let them use.
>>95908681Jabba was a humanoid alien in the early Marvel run, anon
>>95910146
>>95914484That's a good point, I forgot about how public opinion of the Jedi soured during the war. I imagine they would live wherever the temples were, a very decentralized order to fit the decentralized nature of the galaxy.
>>95914832Yup, and why many of them were willing to join up with other traditions, even Nightsisters, they're not exactly spoiled for options. Alderaan took in the bulk of the Jedi, Bail Organa is still Bail Organa, but over 200 years a lot has changed, including many Jedi trying to rediscover their pre-Army of Light roots, when Jedi went by the title of Lord and ruled their own planets, a significantly easier prospect when the galaxy is big on independent systems.
>>95914872Would the Republic still exist in your setting? The CIS were a secessionist movement from what I remember, I imagine a setting where they win still has a smaller, weaker Republic and a large confederacy secretly ruled by an oligarchy that no longer has any restraints.
>>95914484I think its unlikely they would 100% disappear, even after order 66 and the empire purging everything related to jedi in the main canon a few of them still managed to stick around, you can also look at the Dai Bendu who are still around despite basically being made obsolete by the jedi
>>95911551>>95911595any closeups of that commando team they look cute

>>95904965I may be misunderstanding, but those TIE Fighter numbers look extremely low. 360 total fighters for the fleet? Is this intended to show how many are out of the hangars under normal conditions?
>>95918365The amount of TIEs that a Star Destroyer can carry, and the amount that will be carried and crewed in a line are different things. Imperial doctrine tends towards operating significantly less fighters than most imperial ships within a line would have capacity for, so it is generally assumed that the remaining TIEs listed in a ship's maximum compliment are either
>not assigned to most vessels>spare ships to account for attrition/duty cycles>TIE variants like /rc and /fc vessels instead of just /ln TIEs
>>95917856Here you go. I think that the new upgrade cards will breathe new life into these doods, they were desperately missing aim tokens for sniper pierce.
>>95904414>>95904503Bothans need to be a less distinct species in order for the spy network to make sense. They will stand out in a crowd no matter what world.
>>95919987I'm sure the way it's worded that it doesn't even imply that Bothan are a species. It could be retconned to be a name for an organisation. I like the idea of them being an elite James Bond rebel spy group instead of just little furry people.
>>95920071By that logic, Twi'leks woulld be the ideal spies.
>>95920092I agree, only because they're everywhere and can blend in though how well they could blend in with the Empire is another question. It's why I find it funny that so many people who play Imperial Agent in SWTOR play it as a Chiss. One of the rarest and least inconspicuous races there is.
>>95919987You'd think that, but Mossad manage to get everywhere they need to go. This is a retarded joke mods, calm down.
Personally I always assumed that Bothans are just exceptionally talented at military type covert ops while also maintaining a wide network of non Bothan informants and contractors to get them places that they aren't meant to go.
>>95920007Le everything I tell you is a lie XD

Instead of the entire Bothan species working in or being committed to intelligence gathering and spying, it should just be a small few. Bothans should be no more famed for, or seen as spies, then any other race. It should just be that in the case of the second Death Star it was an intelligence network of Bothans that discovered it and got their hands on the plans, suffering heavy losses while doing so.
Think of it like this;
>Many French spies died to bring us this informationThat wouldn't mean that all French people are spies. It just means that the intelligence network that brought them the information was French.

I was having trouble visualising this map until I realised that it seems like they have changed galactic north from when I was last looking at maps twenty years ago, now the maps point north where I used to feel was galactic north-east. Feels very odd seeing Tatooine in bottom right instead of bottom/bottom left, but I guess it would now work better for a vertical poster compared to the old popular layout that was for a two page spread.

>>95920473Tatooine being further away from the core does make sense since it's supposed to be a backwater world that during the prequels was outside the Republic's sphere of influence (they didn't even accept Republic credits there), while Naboo is, while not an especially prominent place, still a reasonably wealth world with representation in the senate.
The thing that doesn't add up is how they ended up on Naboo in episode1 if they were supposed to go the Coruscant. It's probably explained somewhere, but I assume it was something along the lines of them wanting to take a less direct route to throw the Trade Federation off their trail, as they'd likely assume Amidala's ship would be heading up the branch-line that led to the Hydian, and from there to Coruscant, and try to stop them on the way there. If they went down the minor hyperspace routes to Tatooine they could have re-entered the Mid Rim followed other minor routes "north" until either going down the Hydian or looping towards the Core along the Perlemian.

>>95909246This design is really fucking stupid and ugly and I'm tired of pretending it's not.
>>95921092How would you have designed an Imperial heavy fighter that was still visibly a TIE design?
>>95921089Depends on what playstyle/story you want.
I personally enjoyed the actiony classes, like Sith Warrior and Trooper.
>>95905260Bro it's been years, you're still on this? At least the DHC and Carrack actually won some fights, the Arquintens exists to miss shots and explode.
>>95921089Best are sith warrior, inquisitor, Jedi knight and imperial agent. All others vary in terms of good and bad. Personally I would do Jedi knight first, itโs a good entry into the wider conflict going on and then do Sith warrior after for a parallel. You can now pick any combat style for the classes so your Jedi knight can be ranged force user or go around with a double bladed lightsaber. Pick what looks fun is the best advice though

CIS had B1s, B2s, and droidekas (either the model from episode 1, or ones with more powerful guns but no shields. Later in the war they developed one that had both the better guns and shields), and the tanks and transports seen in episode 1.

In which case, that's literally explained in the movie. They're leaking fluid/coolant/whatever from the hyperdrive and can't make it to Coruscant, so they have to head for some place closer that's safe. They pick Tatooine because the Trade Federation has no presence there, being that it's controlled by the Hutts.

Soโฆis there an explanation for why there can be no galactic government after the Republic / Empire? Why is the Imperial Remnant (First Order) the only large-scale government in the galaxy even after the Rebellion was victorious? Did the rest of the galaxy ust sort of settle down into fragmented planetary governments and waited for the Empire to came back and take over? I donโt get it,
>>95922492Are you on about legends or Disney canon? Either way, the rebels winning at endor wasnโt an immediate end to the war. A galaxy wide faction like the empire wouldnโt just disappear. Most planets and people seem ambivalent to the war anyway and itโs about just focusing on their lives even if they dislike the empire.

I noticed that a few of the models i used were not true to scale so i spent a couple of hours arranging all ships i have top-down images of into proper scale to each other and with their canon lengths. I have even saved a version with my calculations and room for more ships. I will not go above ImpStar sized though as that will make the smaller ships single-digit pixels sized.
This also works as a Imperial Warlord fleet builder: You have 3000 points to spend, length (rounded to closest 50 for odd numbers) equals point cost of one ship of that class. Have at it.

>>95926126Considering the journey they need to take to get there crystals on Ilum, they likely only get one. Now, if Ilim gives them a second crystal, that would be its own rare mark of providence that they should use a second saber. >>95927245The Arquitens a shit
>>95927354So why is the Nebulon-B so smaller by comparison?
>>95928153Because of scale inconsistencies stemming from compositing errors/choices in the OT movies. The canonical size of the Neb-B is based on the scene at the end of Empire Strikes Back with Luke and Leia at the window of the medical bay. But even within that scene, the scale is clearly wrong, as the miniature of the Millennium Falcon docked to the frigate is far too small relative to the window, suggesting a larger sized Neb. And then in Return of the Jedi, the Neb is practically Star Destroyer sized when compared to a Corellian corvette in the foreground.

>>95942014Saxtonite assumption is that since the Imperial-class is called a star destroyer, it must be equivalent to a naval destroyer and there must also be star cruises, star battleships, star seaplane tenders, etc. I suppose you could consider the Executor the battleship to ISD's destroyer, but the Executor-class was extremely rare and not a standard part of Imperial fleet composition (even in the EU there was only ever about 20 SSDs in the whole galaxy, compared to thousands of ISDs). Star cruisers do actually exist (the MC 80 is sometimes referred as one), but aren't depicted as bigger than ISDs. In fact, most ships designated cruisers are smaller than the ISD, with the biggest ones being roughly of comparable size.
The more reasonable assumption is that SW ships are designated based on role rather than displacement. Something like frigates for escorting larger capital ships, cruisers for long-range patrol and commerce raiding, and destroyers for destroying other vessels. ISD is also kind of an outlier for its size, as it's much bigger than ships like Venator, Providence, and Victory, which are also referred to as destroyers. So possibly it could be a Zumwalt-class situation, where Palpatine called it a new destroyer class to replace the Victories and Venators because the senate would be more likely to approve that (the ISD was commissioned at the tail-end of the Clone Wars, long before he had completely sidelined the senate) than a new class of giant planet-fucking super battleships.

>>95942071WEG was never really consistent on this stuff either.
The Elrood sector, for example, had only two star destroyers for its patrol fleet
>>95942870Where would things like Bellator fit in though? Would they exist?
>>95948110Youu ccann fit them in if you want to. As mmentoined, SSDs are very rare, they're really moree of a show-of-force symbol and reward for the most loyal Moffs/Grand Admirals.
There are a number of classes larger than the ISD that essentially fit in that category. Too big to deploy economically, but they serve as station flagships in the hundreds of 2nd tier sectors where you don't want to deploy a super-rare Executor, but it just looks better if you give the sector command something bigger than 'just another ISD'
>>95948110The midsized SSDs did serve a purpose in the old EU to explain away the mentions of 8 km long SSDs when the Executor was clearly larger in the film. Beyond that, you can assume they're basically just Executor-lite, still able to act as a massive flagship and penis-extension for some moff or admiral, but not quite as expensive to build than the Executor.
Fun fact: ever wondered why so many sources claimed the Executor was 8 km long? I've traced in back to a line from the WEG Imperial handbook, which seems to be a case of the writer misremembering or misinterpreting a line in the script and novelization of ESB where the Executor is mentioned as being larger and more powerful than the 5 ISDs that accompany it, and written that the Executor is as large as 5 ISDs (since ISDs are 1.6 km long, that would make it 8 km long). Then everybody just repeated that statement without bothering to check if it actually fit what we see in the film. There's even one novel that mentions the Executor-class is 10 times the size of the ISD (close enough: it's actually 11.8 times as long as an ISD) but still gives its length as 8 km. American writers having no idea what a kilometer is probably also has something to do with it.

>>95949663My keyboard has been doing doubles lately, I have to take off the caps and clean everything. It's rather annoying.
Have some Twi'lek slop as distraction.

>>95942251How big is the chiss empire supposed to be in canon? They're not leaving them much space
>>95941166Added ship classes for both factions.
I'm thinking of making an alternate version where i toss in fanon ships from stuff like I.M.P.S The Relentless, Fractalsponge and other similar sources.
Probably gonna keep one Canon/Legends version and one Fanon version
