Reposting here. Oh, the EOE story's first episode came out today, and there's apparently 11 main episodes. I stopped showing up here since the last story because I just don't care about most of you but recapping the story does help me internalise things better. https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/magic-story/edge-of-eternities-episode-1
>Story is told in a strange second-person style at first, with somebody unknown communicating with a 'you' that is clearly an artificial intelligence of some sort
>The second-person narrator appears to be undergoing recurring timeline nonsense, and has a confusing conversation with this being who created them
>It's also a bit CYOA, with the person talking to 'you' asking to make some choices, some of which lead to failed timelines and restarting
>The first choice is "could you choose to have someone find me, please?"
>Hitting no resets, hitting yes leads to the proper story start
>Starts off with a history of the system, the century when the sun, Sothera, exploded into a black hole
>Sothera had five main worlds, Susur Secundi, Adagia, Kavaron, Evendo and Uthros (the narrator notes there are more, but we're not getting into those now)
>Kavaron's people, the Kav, dug too deep into their planet and accidentally an entire continent and split the world in half, Kavaron That Is and Kavaron Before
>Sothera had strayed into a cloud of aether that it started to absorb, becoming too bright, too fast
>Then it exploded
>The narrator notes that an exploding star is always a monument, however, and monuments attract visitors, namely the Pinnacle
>Asking about the Pinnacle leads to an explanation of that, such as it is
>Pinnacle seems to be the first starfarers of the system, gifted the ability by a mysterious god-like being (or group?) called the Drix
>The Drix showed the Pinnacle the star columns that allow travel, though the Drix didn't need them
I am going to laugh my ass off if Lorwyn gets turned into current day DnD? If it does, I genuinely wonder how long WotC even has before they abandon ALL DEI initiatives.
>>95918030>The Drix did get a promise from Pinnacle, that whenever a star nearby was about to die, Pinnacle would go in, and save what they could>So the Pinnacle connect a column to the Sothera system, opening up travel to it from other systems, who follow in Pinnacle's wake>Pinnacle doesn't use money, because Drix doesn't really recognise money as valid, so instead people following Pinnacle seek out 'mallow', reputation from doing good>So, as Sothera spends its last centuries, it suddenly thrives with new life>There's talk of the Illvoi, whoever those are, searching Uthros' depths (and, strangely, a mention of Mirri of all names as having vanished from there, which raises a lot of questions, unless it's just a different Mirri)>The narrator discusses the 'main' form of life in the plane, the Eumidians, shapechangers that adapt and thrive basically anywhere, then moves on to humans, a species that was once driven nearly to extinction in the plane, but has since bounced back, and the narrator discusses how they have to use knowledge and tools and science to adapt>Apparently the Kav find humans fascinating because of that, and then the narrator moves on to discussing how two faiths (implicitly human ones) went to war over Sothera>The Monoists, who worship The Theorem Unending and Final, mostly humans, but a mixed group that worship a single 'truth' of some sort, who settled on Anuki (which they renamed Susur Secundi)>The Monoists had the idea of if they could somehow push Sothera back on itself, and turn it into a supervoid>Asking about that carries the story on, but there's an option to ask about the other faith, which I'll cover now>Asking about the other faith shifts things abruptly to a 'relic' giving instructions to burn your hand>It's mostly a lot of very Deus Vult sounding stuff from then on
Are the new cards pozzed already?

>>95918066>It gives a detailed list of instructions on what to do, apparently, and it's mostly a lot of ritualistic stuff involving self-sacrifice on how to deal with this 'Object'>Most of them are noted as not being effective at all>It just sort of ends with "well, kill yourself and everything in the immediate vicinity and destroy the Object, don't worry your kids will carry on the fight">Anyway, back to the story>The narrator asks to make a choice, and the choice is to plague an Illvoi (jellyfish-like people, it's explained) named Mm'menon with omens, leading to their exile>Choosing not to leads to the narrator being dug up and kept in stasis and being sent to the Drix and the story just ends>Choosing to do so carries things on>Narrator thanks you, and then asks for a second choice, concerning "the Metalman", a human who is not from around here (Tezzeret it's obviously Tezzeret), and they ask you to deprive him of services that would aid in finding them>Choosing not to ends up with them captured, in the Metalman's control, choosing to do so carries the story on>The story REALLY begins proper now, I guess>We begin with a cat named Mirri, mewling. Mirri is just a normal cat, best we can tell, though she CAN weftwalk (sort of teleportation) which is just a thing cats can do here but not usually intentionally>Something startles her, leading her to weftwalk away from her human, and she vanishes entirely, best as their human, Sami, can tell>Sami is trying to find their damn cat>Perspective shifts to a proper story as we cut to Sami and Tanuuk, a humanoid Kavu (I guess a Kav), talking over comms>Tanuuk says their flight plan was rejected, and Sami is clearly not surprised, because it was mostly a distraction anyway>They talk about some stuff, Sami explains they're there on behalf of 'the rudest man alive' to ransack a ghost colony>The flight plan did not include that, but it did include finding Mirri, which Sami says they ARE still going to do

Not dead at all. There's lights. There's homes, buildings, signs>Sami just says that maybe the Metalman lied, and that's really it>Tan retorts that it WAS empty when he scanned it on entry, Sami suggests another go and the second scan brings exactly what they're seeing>It's all consistent with a colony holding about 20000 people>Except there's no people>They land, decide to take a look around>There's a final choice to look at Sami's flight plan, but it's mostly techno-babble nonsense
https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/magic-story/planeswalkers-guide-to-edge-of-eternities There's also a Planeswalker's guide, something written by Mm'menon and with notations by Tezzeret. I'm not going to sum this up because it's kinda dense, but there's mention of Eldrazi and Fomori going to war, so that's a whole thing.
>>95918174But, yeah, basically, it's on the 'edge' of the Multiverse. The Chaos Wall is "everything we already know of Magic", the Quiet Wall is... Nothingness, entropy, etc.
Generally high-tech, but low understanding of magic as a whole. Some implications of potentially alternate multiverses being a thing but who knows. A lot of people think the Strixhaven set will be an alternate multiverse or involve one or something.

>>95918799anon you didn't do your homework on this set.
Dreams of Laguna is one of the best 2-mana commons and it's sitting in your sideboard, while your deck is crying out in pain for anything to do on turn 2 besides landcycling.
even Monk's Fist is desperate to get in there.
look at your curve and imagine how games play out (it's bo1 so everyone has above-average curves).
anyone playing a basic 1-2-3 drop curve or 2-3-double 2 drop of common draft fodder is going to put you so far behind on tempo that you will never catch up (which is going to be most of your matches, in an event where you need an 80%+ winrate).
you also didn't study the format enough to know that Aettir is an unplayable brick or that you shouldn't be playing land-cycler manabases outside of green because the T-rex is the only good one.
your curve was way too high. you also had great mana-fixing and could have splashed.

>>95918881I think it's safe to say that the entirety of Magic's sales are to EDH players and other packcracking idiots, who sell their cards back to the stores to what remains of the 60-card constructed crowd.
You don't need cards to be constructed playable - the 60 card people aren't a necessary part of this equation. Like have you sat at a store for a whole day and just watched the Magic trade-in traffic? It's just incompetent people trading in product for credit talking about their dog deck. Final Fantasy is like 3 fucking constructed cards - "best selling set ever". It was best selling when we only knew like 20 of the fucking cards.
Playability doesn't fucking matter.
>>95919127I do like Marlboro but mostly just in GB.
>>95919171This but unironically.
The worst part about EoE so far is there is no explicitly Trans civilization. Any ethical society that reaches this level of technology would also take steps to ensure no child is ever forced through negligence into an undesired morphology.
It would be POWERFUL representation if at least one (if not all) of these societies were explicitly shown to provide essential puberty management healthcare to all children at all times. The RIGHT of a child to choose what puberty(if any) to undergo is FUNDAMENTAL.
>>95919278I've read stories where the settings have achieved a endpoint in social progress like you describe.
And here's the thing, they always, ALWAYS introduce a real-life social issue that for some baffling reason has not been solved in this perfected social setting and in doing so ruins the notion that these civilizations actually achieved progress at all when they haven't dealt with something as fucking basic as say, drug use.
The point is that even if they did what you suggest, they would fuck it up by introducing a current-day social issue because they quite frankly can't actually envision a world where their social goals have actually been achieved - which is why people are today constantly fighting for rights that they in fact already have because a) it pays to have a fight and b) people are too stupid to define a victory condition.
>>95919247>You don't need cards to be constructed playable - the 60 card people aren't a necessary part of this equation. Like have you sat at a store for a whole day and just watched the Magic trade-in traffic? It's just incompetent people trading in product for credit talking about their dog deck.Yep. You get more action at convention-like settings, but even then most of the people are either
a) Looking for specific pieces to complete specific collection (The '7ed foil' boomer crowd)
b) EDH losers who soi face over that one card that goes great in their Pheldagrif deck.
>Final Fantasy is like 3 fucking constructed cards - "best selling set ever"I have reason to doubt those assertions. And those reasons are because Tarkir Dragonstorm is outselling Final Fantasy.
The claims are that FIN is the best selling set of all time are simply lies. It is the best PRESELLING set of all time. It has the best PRESALE figures. These are not the same as sales figures on release. Dragonstorm is selling better than FIN overall, according to TCGplayer figures.
I suspect this weird occurance has something to do with Final Fantasyfags being total braindead consumers and blowing their load the instant it was announced, coupled with the set actually being kind of dogshit after spoilers.
>It was best selling when we only knew like 20 of the fucking cards. The best PRESALES. Not the best sales. These are not the same thing. A game that presells 1 million copies and goes on to sell 1.5 million copies, did not sell more copies than a game that sold 2 million copies.
>Playability doesn't fucking matter. It's a weird situation. WotC have leveraged themselves into a position where their product is sustained entirely by hype bubbles. It's a dangerous place to be, it's a strategy that has a 100% failure rate throughout history, but as long as you leave as CEO before the bubble pops then you can still put "4x'd their profits" on your resume so that's just how shit works now.
Might as well post this in the thread too.
Here are the top 5 cards from FIN in terms of sales volume:
>5. Sazh's Chocobo
>4. Adventurer's Inn
>3. Blitzball
>2. Fire Magic
>1. Starting Town
None of what was thought to be the premier chase cards are in the top 5.

>it's a strategy that has a 100% failure rate throughout historyIf we're past the tipping point I think personally the breaking point is when the whales literally die. And let's just say they're all 40 now - they have a solid 20 years before their hardened arteries kill them. I mean the game won't begin to suffer until these fuckers are rolling into the store with oxygen tanks and wheelchairs. I'm seeing it almost reach that point: hip/knee replacements, diabetes, heart attacks.
I don't think we should put so much weight on hype. I think this sort of spending behaviour is pretty much baseline spending. It's the same spending you'd get from any other digital product with a cosmetic element like Warcraft, League, or Fortnite. It's like saying alcohol is sold on hype - it's not, we know it's sold on addiction. Addiction is driving all this shit and it's a mature market - people have money and they'll spend it. The younger generation is being financially gatekept out of watching sports - similarly those sports are printing money and they won't die until the "whales" similarly die of their heart attacks. My office actually can't even fucking give away seats at sporting events because nobody gives a shit.
>>95919397>If we're past the tipping point I think personally the breaking point is when the whales literally die. That tends to be the ultimate death of an IP.
The trend of collectables markets is
>Kids get into something>Market spikes when said kids grow into their careers>If the market survived long enough, it crashes when said kids start dying off and their own kids, who don't care, start selling off estates.I'm not confident Magic is the kind of IP that can sustain a 40/50+ year market for that final death to happen. It could, though. We'll have to see, I guess.
>It's like saying alcohol is sold on hype - it's not, we know it's sold on addiction. That's a good point. It's all just modern, materialist banker-captured culture. A vapid, trauma-exploiting furnace where we send all things good and beautiful, and exchange them for shiny plastic bragging rights vouchers.

>>95919524Yes, I can see that.
It's shit.
It's Vehicles except worse, because they're EVEN MORE dependant on just being glorified Sorceries via ETB abilities with useless bricks attached to them. Throw them in the Battles bin.
>>95918602>Slower controlling deck with no card drawDid you not open any Dreams of Laguna, Combat Tutorial or Fight On? FF is slower than most recent limited formats and value/ card advantage is very important to a good deck in this set
>>95919539I'm not saying it's not shit. I just disagree that it's MORE shit than vehicles. It appears to be approximately 10% less shit than vehicles.
>>95919556>I'm not saying it's not shit. I just disagree that it's MORE shit than vehicles. It appears to be approximately 10% less shit than vehicles.Vehicles, but slower is more shit than vehicles.
The only thing that makes Vehicles playable is when they have large bodies relative to their costs, and you can exploit their low crew costs to abuse that.
>>95919562Yeah. This particular one isn't good. But as a mechanic, stationing has fewer points of failure because it doesn't require a tappable creature every single turn. It also has more potential depth because as you can see with this one, it gets extra text once it turns on. It's not entirely reliant on attack triggers or straight combat damage.
It would require decent cards, of course, but from a purely mechanical standpoint there's better design space available than exists for regular vehicles.
>>95919576>It has more potential depth!>It has fewer downsides!Every Spacecraft will be a glorified sorcery and every Spacecraft will be judged by whether or not its ETB ability would be playable as a sorcery.
The tradeoff to not needing a tappable creature to crew your vehicle, is requiring Station costs so high that they literally won't ever be viable to get online. In what fucking universe can you afford to waste 7 power worth of attacks and not be totally losing?
Spacecrafts are just Battles but they give creatures attacking them unblockable.
You dont get blown out when they get rid of your battle though, the etb effect already happened. If you fully commit into powering on your space ship then attempt to attack, youve essentially skipped a turn
>>95919614>You dont get blown out when they get rid of your battle though, the etb effect already happened.t. Anon who has not read a single Battle card.
>>95919614>You dont get blown out when they get rid of your battle though, the etb effect already happened. Yeah this is why I suspect that every single Spacecraft, or at least a vast majority of them, will just be Sorceries with bricks stapled to them. Not just because WotC is full of lazy losers who couldn't design an interesting card to save their lives, but also the design space has a massive gravitational pull toward being a lazy designer.
>>95919541yeah I fucked up and should've included the one blue and one black flashback cantrips I pulled over the equipment and a land cycler

But yeah, they just don't playtest anymore so something dumb as shit will certainly slip through.
>>95919614Counterpoint, attacking the battle will lead to all sorts of blowouts via combat tricks than just tapping down your creatures
>Roxanne spits out two Meteorites, and makes each of them tap for 3 mana.
>Tolsimir gains 12 life and nukes the opponent's board.
NEW BREW ALERT
Naya Legends seems to have potential, on the backbone of Annie Joins Up. It feels like it wants to be a midrange deck, considering how nuts the higher-cost legends can be with doubled triggers and how Annie's ETB is slow removal.
Sadly, Naya isn't black so it has no good removal. Womp womp. I'll figure it out, this feels like a very good core.

>>95919469I'm not talking about the biological compulsion to use drugs. I'm talking about the social use of drugs. For example, as a society most places have normalized alcohol use as an acceptable drug. A fictional highly developed society will have normalized the use or illegality of every drug, which may or may not ban alcohol.
My point is that in such a fictional society, there wouldn't be some fucking retarded conflict over the morality of using one drug over another because they'd have already figured it out. And inevitably in all of these stories there is some stupid moral conflict over some mundane shit when they've figured out every other social issue.
Star Trek is a good example of a setting where the only problem with humanity is humanity - everything else about society has been figured out. Nobody in Star Trek is having some kind of shitty debate over alcohol consumption and in most cases the aliens represent the worst societal issues that humanity has long left behind. The only time humanity fucks up is because of human failures like corruption, pride, or selfishness.

standard is the worst it has ever been in years but people are still showing up to play it because there is money to be made
>>95920775I don't know what people expected, as time goes on the difference in card pool between the two will get relatively smaller and smaller. With legacy there's at least a bunch of OP old cards, with modern there's no such thing (until they went and made MH). Honestly might be the best thing possible for older modern enjoyers.
>>95920796I expected to have two differents formats played differently but now with the extension of Standard Rotation, the incompetence of Fags of the Coast designing cards and the will for making reprints like now Shocklands, you are getting almost the same format twice.
>>95920718You get to keep playing the same cards for longer, as long as powercreep doesn't invalidate 13 years worth of cards every 2nd set like it does now.
>>95920796Many Pioneer decks feel like old Modern decks too before MH hit. Niv to Light, GW Death & Taxes/ any Company deck no longer viable in Modern is still good in Pioneer, Spirits, Elves all Tier 3 2018 Modern stuff.
Pioneer was always the format for Standard players who want still to play their pet decks and cards post-rotation. Nothing else.
>>95919114My guess is it's gonna be, like, stuff from the known Multiverse (what the Edge calls the Chaos Wall) has some weird influence on stuff in the Edge, usually in small but important ways. Mirri is named after the original Mirri, but not intentionally, and has no real DIRECT connection beyond both being cats on a ship.
Or it's gonna turn out somebody who knew Mirri named the cat Mirri after her, and later bequeathed the cat to Sami (the story makes a point of mentioning that Sami was entrusted with the cat and that's why it's so important to get her back).
>>95920793>>95920813Sheoldred, Cut Down, Temporary Lockdown, Sunfall, Liliana all leaving soon. 100% there's a midrange&control crowd that will follow those cards to Pioneer even without pro tour.

Green has faster ramp and recursion, white does not. Try again when white actually ever has a tier 1 deck in standard, which again, will never happen. I have 3 questions:

there hasn't been a worse standard in a very, very long time

The guy behind Duskmourn, you mean Ovidio, the art director? No known things, though WotC has quite a few art directors they cycle between it seems.
And I've heard nothing about this ten sets a year thing, that sounds entirely made up.

>>95921713>watch them literally only ban monstrous ragewhat type of cope is this? there will be no changes, the next set rotates the format and they want to see what the meta looks like
>>95921753It's all tentative. Authority of the Consuls is a key piece against aggro too, as is a surprise all-star I found in Trespasser's Curse, which occasionally just turns their ability to play creatures off if their life total gets low enough. Meathook Massacre is an obvious choice for board wipe.
Enduring Tenacity is the main threat, considering Bloodthirsty Conquerer as a combo wincon but it seems to slow and fragile. The setup can easily hose aggro ad infinitum.
It's currently struggling with tall threats, though. Black demons, especially, as half the decks just run the literal "lol, u die" Slasher/Aclazotz """""Combo""""" (Boy do I love combos where both halves of the combo are insanely threatening bodies that shit out value and just happen to instantly win the game together randomly!)
Tithing Blade is in consideration, but we're light on creatures right now to flip it. Feels good though, for an initial brew foray.

>and you're probably dead by the time you have an answer which doesn't matter because they can just play another hare/cutter and your wasted removal and a turnNo you didn't. If they play another Hare after you removed theirs, they're literally wasting their time because it doesn't actually do anything unless there are other Hares on board. >>95921809It's also the guy who wanted to keep the "you win the game" on Thassa's oracle because it gave a "je ne sais quoi" to the set.
>>95918059This all but confirms the changes they're going to do to Lorwyn. The original elves all looked a bit inhuman beyond the horns. Now this is a "normal" elf with horns. The biggest "issue" they repeatedly mentioned about the plane was it not having humans, so I'm sure they will go and humanize most of the races and use the Phyrexian invasion as justification. They might even shoehorn some actual humans in with omenpaths.
Expect kithkin to become halflings too.

>>95922026They create double the tokens for each hare already on the field

>>95922301I would love a full on sword & sorcery set. I wish that new Muruganda plane or whatever it was called was a new set like that. Full on sword and sorcery set with the big dinosaurs being primal beasts and shit.
None of this soft homogenised blizzard art shit, no xwings, tesla trucks or chuck taylors. None of that bullshit. Just burly barbarians, warlocks, evil witches, ancient weapons, skeleton warriors, orcs, midnight riders in the dark, vast landscapes with a lightning cracking down.
A set that matches the back of the card. Why can't we fucking have it...
>>95922630That's because Magic's trying to be Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy predates Magic and has made more money.
It still needs a ton of work. Archfiend of Aklazotz Annex basically fucking deletes it so far.
But, you know what? It actually works. The life gain boosters + Revenge of Ravens is hilarious, just staring at gigantic boards of Monks with your chin out and a shit-eating grin. Even better with Tenacity Out. Turns your opponent attacking into them dying instead of you.
I'll probably cut down to 2 Kambal, drop some of the meme life gain sources for more consistent midrange-y pieces and sort things for the tall threats eventually. More board wipes is probably a solid option. For now, it's a proof of concept and it feels just fine.

The whole "interesting puzzle" thing /might/ be true during the Cawblade era, where mirrors really were skill intensive, but this red-based cori and mice meta is definitely not that.
>>95923344>>95923382And this is why JOTC has systematically and thoroughly eviscerated everything actually powerful about Whiteโs color pie identity.
MLD? Crybabies
Boardwipes? Crybabies
Actual hard stax and taxes? Crybabies
And then you wonder why white loses so fuckin much to every other color. Because crybaby kikes want their color to be broken and unrestricted, and JOTC hates white and everything the color USED to stand for.
White is cucked and fucked for eternity until these biased kikes die or leave.
>>95922778The fuck are charge counters?
>>95923432The "Interesting Pluzzle" is such fucking retarded statement is like saying this colossal airplane accident where a lot of people died is an "Interesting Pluzzle" for the investigators to prevent future airplane accidents, no fucking faggot is first and foremost a tragedy that should be avoided at any cost and you should be ashamed of think such disgraceful situation has a "bright side"
Board wipes are justified if board regeneration also is available in the sets
We're at the land destruction discussion of yesterday;
To warrant basic land destruction's existence, it should be easy for every color to be able to add more land to hand
Every play needs to have an opposite counterplay
>>95923502Competitive metas that are healthy are a puzzle; since you can't decide what your opponent plays your deck needs to have outs and options against other gameplans.
A format that is like 50% aggro and two thirds of that is a single fucking game-plan is not a puzzle, it's a hill you have to put your deck up to even start playing. If your deckbuilding strategy is first "can I keep this from losing to cori-mouse-fuckwad?" and then "now we can build a strategy to actually fucking play" then the format is fucking cooked.
How do I get good at draft?
Honestly, I wish I could elaborate more, but I've been drafting semi-consistently since I got back into Magic around Foundations and I just suck every time.
>>95923673The most common mistake in drafting is failing to build the deck as you draft. You are not grabbing a stack of cards to make a deck, you need to be thinking about what your pile is missing as you draft.
This means you're gonna sometimes see a busted card and have to be disciplined enough to say 'not in my colors, not on my curve, we'll see if it comes back'.
You can greed or hatedraft only if you're ahead on the pieces you need. A deck that's playable on curve with a few rares or uncommons as bombs is 100% better than a schizophrenic pile stapled to the mythic you pullled.
I respect though going for the fun shit if you want it for other formats, but its functionally no different than a hatepick; do it too often you'll garbage your entire pool.
>>95923739Yeah, I'd like to think I do that. I try to pick two colors and stick to it. Prioritize removal and spells that synergize. And then I sit down to play and it just doesn't unfold as quickly as my opponent.
>>95923765You should prioritize a good curve before you start thinking about your synergies.
>>95923765Aight, so the second biggest mistake is picking your colors before you open your packs; but we'll assume for a moment you're not doing that shit.
The third is not mulling aggressively enough. You are drafting a small deck, even going down a card you can get something sick going off from your opening hand. It's also possible you're building your curve higher than you should. 2s and 3s are best, but if you lean back into 2s, you can play a 2-drop and a 1-drop together on T3 or two 2-drops on T4.
Unironically if you can stomach it and grind it out, you can get good practice drafting out of MTGA if you play Bo3 and Traditional Drafts. You're going to not have the full experience since you'll be playing people from different pools (and retards can feed people cracked decks that way) but that generally is going to make it harder and force you to pick smarter. Make a note if you're getting force-fed great shit from packs, enjoy your wins but don't delude yourself over it.
>>95923673It's impossible to say what you're doing wrong, there's a lot of possibilities. Not enough creatures, too many colors, a bad curve, or even just being bad at piloting a deck. It would help if you posted some of your decks.
>>95918459>shocklands outside of ravnica for some reasonthey were purposefully given generic names so that they COULD be used outside of ravnica, numbnuts. The fact that it's taken them 20 fucking years to actually follow through on that promise was a mistake. These things should have been in every block since 2005
are feature matches usually this fast? like before the graphics even finished they already had there full hands and game 2 started, are they not siding or something?
and do people usually play this fast in general?
>>95923912It's prerecorded and sped up
>>95923831Here's the deck I made earlier today. I lost 2 rounds and won 1. It wasn't embarrassingly bad, but it was clear when I lost my opponents had an edge on me.

>>95923912why do you need to side deck on coin flips?
>>95922655this list is literally
>TOTAL RED DEATHand I love it
>>95923922Sorry, I should've specified show your pool too. But regardless, I think it's fine other than being too heavy on 4s. Something like cutting the rescue missions for removal or a 2 and 3 drop would be good. I'm guessing you're just not playing well, people always forget half of draft is actually piloting the deck too.
>>95923922The main problem I see is your curve, not enough 2 drops, too much 4 drops. Sometimes just curving out with some removal is all you need in a draft.
as a game and community, Magic: The Gathering is at the tipping point of losing structural integrity.
Be sincere if you are watching the PT: You think this is in any way fun? Are you interested in this kind of "pro game environment"?
it already lost any and all integrity the moment you could earn money with this game
what would you do?
>try to poison any and all discussion and censor every critique of the game so you can scalp, hoard and resell cardboard at huge mark ups for quick cash, at the expenses of game balance?
or
>actually discuss the game, point out actual flaws all for the sake of making it a better game, thus helping the game succeed in the long term while constantly attracting and retaining new players that will be engaged with the game for the game itself and not for monetary gains?
>>95924168Magic tournament videos instill an extremely strong sense of ennui that makes me want to just throw away all my cards.
>>95921212You are a mentally ill male.
>>95924168I'm enjoying watching it. "Esports" is and always was cringe so the sooner they stop acting like magic is one the better, but as is it's at least watchable without wanting to blow my brains out
>>95924168I mean its OK, Ive watched pro tours before, but this meta is AIDS and puts me to sleep.
>>95924168is unbereable, simply unbereable yesterday i say like 4 matches of izzet vs omniscience today i'm seeing again izzet but vs monored, whoever thought this meta was worth for a whole tournament making me see this vomit matchup after another should get his ass fired.
Well done WotC, what a riveting format you've constructed
>>95924168There is only three type of persons watching this shit
-those who have bets on games
-scalpers looking out for cards
-other pro shitters
I'll be interested in this shit when the game is actually not coin flips
>>95919483Apparently some spacecrafts aren't going to turn into creatures.
>>95923822This looks like white wasn't open, almost all of your white cards are either shit or also black. You've got none of the commons/uncommons that push you into white.
>>95923822Don't tell new players to mulligan more in limited, they already do too much. Above average players mulligan too little, but that's just because good starting advice for limited is "basically never mulligan ever."

>>95924308>-those who have bets on gamesNo one does this.
Tell me no one actually does this.
It's completely vibes based but I somehow feel like MTG is going to end in about three years or so. There will be some major flop the game will not recover from during this time.
I've been playing for 6 months or so. Played in my first tourney and went 0-4. Had some fun, learned a bit, realized I got a lot to work on gameplay wise.
