Reposting here. Oh, the EOE story's first episode came out today, and there's apparently 11 main episodes. I have reason to doubt those assertions. And those reasons are because Tarkir Dragonstorm is outselling Final Fantasy.
The claims are that FIN is the best selling set of all time are simply lies. It is the best PRESELLING set of all time. It has the best PRESALE figures. These are not the same as sales figures on release. Dragonstorm is selling better than FIN overall, according to TCGplayer figures.
I suspect this weird occurance has something to do with Final Fantasyfags being total braindead consumers and blowing their load the instant it was announced, coupled with the set actually being kind of dogshit after spoilers.

Yeah. This particular one isn't good. But as a mechanic, stationing has fewer points of failure because it doesn't require a tappable creature every single turn. It also has more potential depth because as you can see with this one, it gets extra text once it turns on. It's not entirely reliant on attack triggers or straight combat damage.

Every Spacecraft will be a glorified sorcery and every Spacecraft will be judged by whether or not its ETB ability would be playable as a sorcery.

The tradeoff to not needing a tappable creature to crew your vehicle, is requiring Station costs so high that they literally won't ever be viable to get online. In what fucking universe can you afford to waste 7 power worth of attacks and not be totally losing?

Affinity at had the cycling deck to keep it in check, and still could result in some crazy matches sometimes. Eldrazi Winter had tons of Eldrazi, but you still at least had a vague semblance of interaction.

It's all tentative. Authority of the Consuls is a key piece against aggro too, as is a surprise all-star I found in Trespasser's Curse, which occasionally just turns their ability to play creatures off if their life total gets low enough. Meathook Massacre is an obvious choice for board wipe.

Enduring Tenacity is the main threat, considering Bloodthirsty Conquerer as a combo wincon but it seems to slow and fragile. The setup can easily hose aggro ad infinitum.

It's currently struggling with tall threats, though. Black demons, especially, as half the decks just run the literal "lol, u die" Slasher/Aclazotz """""Combo""""" (Boy do I love combos where both halves of the combo are insanely threatening bodies that shit out value and just happen to instantly win the game together randomly!)

Tithing Blade is in consideration, but we're light on creatures right now to flip it. Feels good though, for an initial brew foray.

This all but confirms the changes they're going to do to Lorwyn. The original elves all looked a bit inhuman beyond the horns. Now this is a "normal" elf with horns. The biggest "issue" they repeatedly mentioned about the plane was it not having humans, so I'm sure they will go and humanize most of the races and use the Phyrexian invasion as justification. They might even shoehorn some actual humans in with omenpaths.

Competitive metas that are healthy are a puzzle; since you can't decide what your opponent plays your deck needs to have outs and options against other gameplans.

A format that is like 50% aggro and two thirds of that is a single fucking game-plan is not a puzzle, it's a hill you have to put your deck up to even start playing. If your deckbuilding strategy is first "can I keep this from losing to cori-mouse-fuckwad?" and then "now we can build a strategy to actually fucking play" then the format is fucking cooked.

How do I get good at draft?

Honestly, I wish I could elaborate more, but I've been drafting semi-consistently since I got back into Magic around Foundations and I just suck every time.

The most common mistake in drafting is failing to build the deck as you draft. You are not grabbing a stack of cards to make a deck, you need to be thinking about what your pile is missing as you draft.

This means you're gonna sometimes see a busted card and have to be disciplined enough to say 'not in my colors, not on my curve, we'll see if it comes back'.

You can greed or hatedraft only if you're ahead on the pieces you need. A deck that's playable on curve with a few rares or uncommons as bombs is 100% better than a schizophrenic pile stapled to the mythic you pullled.

I respect though going for the fun shit if you want it for other formats, but its functionally no different than a hatepick; do it too often you'll garbage your entire pool.

Aight, so the second biggest mistake is picking your colors before you open your packs; but we'll assume for a moment you're not doing that shit.

The third is not mulling aggressively enough. You are drafting a small deck, even going down a card you can get something sick going off from your opening hand. It's also possible you're building your curve higher than you should. 2s and 3s are best, but if you lean back into 2s, you can play a 2-drop and a 1-drop together on T3 or two 2-drops on T4.

Unironically if you can stomach it and grind it out, you can get good practice drafting out of MTGA if you play Bo3 and Traditional Drafts. You're going to not have the full experience since you'll be playing people from different pools (and retards can feed people cracked decks that way) but that generally is going to make it harder and force you to pick smarter. Make a note if you're getting force-fed great shit from packs, enjoy your wins but don't delude yourself over it.

Something like cutting the rescue missions for removal or a 2 and 3 drop would be good. I'm guessing you're just not playing well, people always forget half of draft is actually piloting the deck too.
