Come back to Premodern, /tg/.
Come back home...
Iโm thinking about getting into pauper, can someone suggest a decent Boros aggro budget build?
Also how the hell is the high tide deck so good? Like what is the wincon? Make your opponent deck themselves?
>>95940950Yes. $10 is reasonable imo
>TQ
This is really an impossible question because so much depth was added to the game through vague flavor text that gave you pointers about the setting rather than hamfistedly telling you what the setting was. You can clearly see how the Souls games were influenced in their storytelling through similar use of vague flavor text.
Why did they make Fighter a girl? Isn't that kind of offensive?

>>95940902 (OP)>TQWasn't sure which one I should pic, I personally prefer Skin Invasion more but Delver is really iconic. Reminds me of the days when novelty sets were actually exciting to people, even if they weren't that deep. Next time we go to Innistrad all the major characters will probably be wearing mediocre 18th-century costumes with some stupid side quest to complete that makes Shadows Over Innistrad look Shakespearean in comparison.
>>95940955Back to Brazil with you.
You fucking gayniggers lied to me. All the FF cards increased in price.
>>95941451I'm not surprised the surge foils kept going up, but the fact that normal Cloud and Sephiroth went up is kinda weird to me. It also seems weird that normal Traveling Chocobo is still $30, it does very little outside bird tribal. At least Cornelia, the most relevant card for standard, went from $15 to $10.
I like FIN draft because i can force UR and win
>>95941451Only the souped up foils and borderless. The rate that the surge foil Sephiroth, Yuna, Cloud and Tifa ones are hilariously absurd because what do you mean theyre already at $600 and theyll never do another print run?
>>95941451>goyslop consoomer tards paying whale money for overinflated hatcha cardboard because their pet IP funko pop is on it Hasbro about to run the biggest bag in the history of TCGโs and leave JOTC holding the door on the way out.
>>95940902 (OP)>TQBelieve in the ideal, not the idol.
The FF set was the most disappointed I think I've ever been playing this game. Sure the cards were great and having FF be part of mtg is fantastic but fuck everything else about it. Investment faggots need to get the rope for ruining these hobbies. Before this set came out the most expensive card I ever got was less than $100 and now because of these cocksuckers cards are selling for hundreds if not thousands of dollars. I just wanted some cool foil treated cards with my fav FF characters on them (mainly Tifa because I've jerked off to her hundreds of times) but I sure as shit am not paying hundreds of dollars for her surge foil card. That shits absurd. Fuck all this I'm going to bust a nut to tifa and be done with this FF set.

>>95941578Cardboard isn't an "investment", if WoTC wanted to run down prices they could

I can't believe I didn't see this before
Imagine having the temerity to suggest that PAPER slop filled with spiderman and avatar and other slop is "real magic" while you pay $1400 for a single box of collectors Final Fantasy: A Square Enix Production
While you could play magic the way it was meant to be played
Anonymously, without any social interaction, against people who may or may not be bots and will never be able to appreciate the sheer buttslapping you gave them
>>95941772But unironigally.
the local tournament centre is trying out a new "pick 2" draft format for Final Fantasy. the rewards will be a bit increased for the first one this Friday, should I go?
3 rounds, $25 entry fee (3 FF packs)
2-1: $15 + promo pack
1-2: $5

Do any of these cards synergize well with the Scions and Spellcasting deck? I'm really pretty casual at this game and just play it socially (usually with just one of the 40k precons) but I grabbed a few single to spruce up the deck a little bit or because I thought they were cool in FF14. Too bad Zodiark's like 5 black mana because the odds of drawing that without swapping out a bunch of lands for lands that are black and another type seem pretty slim. Zenos and Bahamut seem like fun win conditions and it seems dumb not to have Hydaelyn in a FF14 deck
My usual strategy at a table of 4 is to pretend to be retarded and like I have no idea how to play the game while someone else draws aggro and they start murdering each other and then doing a backstab at the opportune moment

Episode 2/11 of EOE's main story. https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/magic-story/edge-of-eternities-episode-2
>We're still on the weird timeline framing device, whatever that means
>Sami and Tan are exploring that colony, and on closer inspection, it's still in its prefab state, 'connected' but not truly lived in
>So why are the lights on like people live there?
>Tan uses his Kav vibration senses to determine that there's some kind of industrial machinery operating near the center of town
>They theorise that maybe the colony's just being operated remotely, which Sami thinks WOULD explain it all
>Sami further theorises that the Metalman is the one who switched this on, mining for stuff, the machines found something they can't identify so he sent them
>Tan smells food, and Sami goes "oh goddammit somebody got here before us"
>They try to sneak up on whoever this is, theorising and all
>Sami gets up close to where the smell's coming from, near a window
>Sami pokes their head up a bit too high and the house's automated sensors detect them and loudly welcome them to the premises
>And nothing happens
>Sami looks up the house on their devices, and determines the house is three years old, yet the family it was built for never showed up
>Sami looks through the window now, and notices a family table, with dinner set up, but nobody there, like somebody was disappeared in the middle of making things
>The house helpfully chimes in that its inhabitants aren't home
>They explore further and find similar instances everywhere, like everybody just up and vanished, but they were also never there in the first place
>Tan connects to the colony's central computing blob, and Sami asks if it thinks it has a population, and it doesn't seem to think anybody's ever been there
>It also doesn't seem to think it's being operated remotely
>Sami comes across a train track, and is struck silent upon seeing a strange sight

3. Removal that is strong enough to keep aggro in check.

>>95944867Channel + Fireball was absolutely not the norm. What was done in almost every single game is the Land Tax dance, where games slow to a crawl in a battle of "Do I let them trigger this or do I have enough land?" vs "Do I lay another land because I need to even though I have a Land Tax in play?". Power 9 is only powerful in context of modern cards. Want to know what Time Walk did for you back in the day? It let you draw another card and attack one more time with your Serra Angel. Dark Ritual? An early Mind Twist at best.
Don't equate post Urza block understanding of the game and post Urza block actual cardpool with what the early game was really like. Land Tax was the undisputed king for anyone who even vaguely understood the game beyond "I play with the cards I own".

>>95946788These guys are different from Tarkir clans because on the original Tarkir, one of the wedge color is dominant over the opposed colors, like Mardu being predominantly red, when white is their wedge color. Dragonstorm tried to 'fix' this by having the new clans based on the wedge color instead (white Mardu), thus robbing the clans of their actual identity in the larger scope of the game.
That said, the theme of these cycles was the wizards of Dominaria uniting their magics against the phyrexians in utter desperation. In Invasion and Planeshift they were just borrowing the ally colors, but by the time of Apocalypse they started going for the enemy colors, producing a lot of interdisciplinary 'heretic' practicioners. So you would think the Invasion block names are more generally correct, since they refer to the relationship between the colors of magic in-universe directly.

waaaaah waaaaah EVERY thing is the WORST thing EVER
>>95949634No, just this thing.
>>95948630Bumb
Current standard sucks ass should I just keep it sealed? Do people buy sealed boxes at all?
>>95949634Well WotC have printed some shit in the last decade but like current one? No.
>>95949550It had a more clear impact radius. You banned that, the discover deck became a bit slower but still playable. With red is banning cutter/rage even around? Will the format become omniscience cancer if red gets too nerfed?
>>95949608Golos field standard was worse than oko standard
>>95949723>Will the format become omniscience cancer if red gets too nerfed?Yes. Yes it will. Omni is the obvious problem deck if aggro isn't around to contain it, as it completely blasts through midrange lists while being in the colors to have the tools to combat other combo decks.
>>95949833what good sideboard tools are there vs Omni?

>>95949859Soul-Guide Lantern is in Foundations too
maybe EoE will need to give us some more graveyard hate though
>>95949842>what good sideboard tools are there vs Omni?Just fucking killing them with your combo while they valueslop durdle.
>>95949736Do you think Uro would see play or should his text be erratad to 6 health?
>>95949930>Would see play?Yes
>Would matter with Lynx and Nemesis existing?Lol, lmao even.
>>95949550It was literally only banned in Pioneer and I can only assume that's because they don't believe Pioneer meaningfully drives sales.
>>95949965what is with the scrubs here thinking that Screaming Nemesis and Lynx are some kind of unbeatable god cards?
fucking retards
you can play standard monowhite soul sisters and still shit all over those cards
>>959498914Omnath standard is D tier at best. Glad at least that got the fast ban.
>>95949842I like Haywire Mite if you're in green
Leyline of the Void is cool too I guess
>>95949842Sideboard? Standard is a BO1 format
>>95949996graveyard combo vs monored aggro is truly the most bo1 matchup possible
