omg it says FOR THE REST OF THE GAME
THE ENTIRE GAME?
this is the strongest thing ever
if I play my Centaur Courser on turn 3 and then untap with it, I can bolt my own creature on turn 4
then my opponent CANNOT GAIN LIFE for the ENTIRE REST OF THE GAME
if the game goes on another 100 turns and he was going to gain 100 life per turn then it's like I dealt him 10000 DAMAGE
JUST LIKE CACTUAR THIS CARD IS JUST AS STRONG AS CACTUAR WE HAVE TO BAN IT YOU'RE GONNA BE SORRY IF THEY DON'T

FF limited is actually alot more fun than caves of ixalan or aetherdrift (for me the worst set to draft of maybe all time).
I am catching myself forcing b/g or u/x alot of times. Blue is definitely the strongest colour and works with w,g or red. B/g mill just works really well and can lead to some crazy plays, also keeps up really well with u/r in longer games if you got cards like fight on. Needs at least 1-2 of resentful, town greeter or shinra mill card (I'm sorry don't remember the exact names). Diamond weapon is really strong.l for an uncommon, as are the green mana pump cards.
What I've never really gotten to work is a damn chocobo deck, I feel it needs ride the shoopuf (pretty bonkers card) to shine.

>>95950602Being an asshole.
>>95950672Except absolutely none of these are completely noninteractive the way nemesis is. The only one that does anything remotely close to it is stigma lasher, which requires actually dealing combat damage to a player, not "i cast lightning bolt on my creature before anyone else gets priority."
>>95950672I like you focusing on the half of the ability that isn't relevant to how badly the card is designed.
I like Leyline design. I wish we had more and better Leylines.
There i say it.
>>95950704I agree. I want a Leyline that says "Sacrifice Leyline of Enshittification: choose a player. That player can't play noncreature spells for the rest of the game."
>>95950691>Except absolutely none of these are completely noninteractive the way nemesis is. The only one that does anything remotely close to it is stigma lasher, which requires actually dealing combat damage to a player, not "i cast lightning bolt on my creature before anyone else gets priority."It's crazy just how much this interaction ruins the game.
Every deck that hopes to gain any amount of life must always, ALWAYS keep removal up for or their deck is simply deleted.
One of the most consistent ways to hose aggro decks is to keep up tempo. Play larger, slower bodies on curve that wall their shit.
Nemesis SIMPLY EXISTING, not even being played, but EXISTING AT ALL totally eliminates that option. You can not simply fight for the battlefield, because if you try to curve out for one (1) turn then oops it's Nemesis + Burst Lightning, there goes your entire deck.
To repeat: This is not just pressure on the board. Their deck DOESN'T EVEN NEED TO HAVE NEMESIS IN IT. If it's a red aggro deck that Nemesis COULD be in, you simply are never under any circumstances allowed to tap out and not have removal open ever.
This is an UNBELIEVABLY bad influence on the game. A card warping a meta without even needing to be cast, or even in someone's deck at all, is so far beyond the pale that I can't even think of something in Yu Gi Oh that has ever been that bad.
>>95950704Wait what I hate these boys, esp the gy hate one. Also not fun at all if someone has these in limited.
>>95950704>>95950731I think the biggest sins of Leylines is that they are persistent effects.
If Leyline of the Void was "Sacrifice ~: Exile all cards from target player's graveyard" I don't think it would be so bad. Leyline design should be closer to Seal (Seal of Removal etc.) designs than ongoing effects.
>>95950704i tend to agree leylines are enough of a trap to justify their abilities the problem is usually their abilities are so bad you can't justify put 4 copies on a deck
Will we see new battles in EoE? Must be the set to do it right? RIGHT?
>>95950720"Lifegain decks" don't exist beyond the casual realm. They are playing to not lose as opposed to playing to win (which is the goal of all decks). They are a stepping stone to a new player's understanding of resources and nothing more. You will note that all lifegain cards that are good also supply win conditions (Pridemate, Thragtusk, etc).
Not to mention the obvious, but all strategies should have counters. No exceptions.
>>95950720I think that's just what design for red is now. This is the same issue that existed with slickshot, where you always had to keep from tapping out or you'd instantly be deleted, up until the point where even slickshot was obsoleted by mice and cutter, lawl.
>>95950770>"Lifegain decks" don't exist beyond the casual realmAh yes, Amalia. The famously 100% casually, totally not banned deck.
>>95950770In every format for literally decades, the best option against burn in any format where burn was a problem deck, was to include powerful life gain cards in your sideboard.
Fuck mate, are you fucking dumb as shit or something? Kitchin Finks. Martyr Proc. Siege Rhino even. TONS of decks that ran lifegain have been mainstays in many, many formats. The fuck are you talking about "life gain decks don't exist" lmfao shut the fuck up mate.
>>95950777>anon doesn't even understand why the deck was a problem
>>95950789Are you saying Amalia was not a life gain deck?
>>95950786Having 4x Finks in your sideboard makes your deck a "lifegain deck"?
>>95950797>sideboard*mainboard
Also, congrats on obviously ignoring the other listed decks.
>"Bro martyr proc wasn't ACTUALLY a life gain deck"Ok bud. Sure. Fuck off now, you are an actual retard.
>>95950770So what's the counter for red, then, now that their previous counter no longer functions at all, for the rest of the game, with no counterplay of its own?
Oh right, there isn't one. As evidenced by the most recent tournament results.
It is funny that if they just waited a few months, Amalia would have been completely wiped off the face of Pioneer by Nemesis.
>>95950770>all strategies should have counters. No exceptions.Red's main counter being life gain though?
UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!
>>95950797>Not knowing that Kitchen Finks was part of a combonewfag detected
Speaking of, reprint Kitchen Finks.
>>95950855Finks was peak Magic.
>>95950807Excellent - finally, we have arrived at the real issue at hand. Red cards that are not Nemesis / Lynx. You could remove those two cards from existence and the meta would be exactly the same. Standard even has a 3 MV "can't gain life" 4/3 beater as a potential replacement (even though it wouldn't be needed or played at all).
Red's dominance has absolutely nothing to do with these two cards and you are completely blind to the real issues.
>>95950872>Red's dominance has absolutely nothing to do with these two cards and you are completely blind to the real issues. And yet those two cards mean red is even more dominant, and also mean that the counters to red that might result in some small amount of format variety are not allowed to enter the format.
>>95950855the lorwyn set is coming soon enough
>>95950883>Restaurant Finks>When ~ enters, double your life total. Effects that would prevent you from gaining life can't prevent you from gaining this life.Wa la, we fixed Nemesis!
>>95950872There's a big difference between "red has 5 tools to dominate the meta" and "red has 15 tools to dominate the meta, and 8 additional tools that specifically hose all counterplay."
What you are saying is literally the "we can't fix healthcare because there are children starving in africa" fallacy. Obviously red has a shitton of completely broken cards that need to be banned right now and red design needs to be completely overhauled. That doesn't make Nemesis good design just because there are other things that are even worse. Nemesis is PART of the problem in the first place.
Totally noninteractive design is always shit. It started with emblems, and this is the logical continuation of that trend.

>>95951106Those differences are significant in draft. Deathtouch as a blocker vs immediate card selection is a big difference. I know people have been mindbroken by cori and mice, but over here in the real formats we can have meaningful differences on our cards without breaking multiple formats. Fuck off with that FIRE shit.

>UB3x Graveyard, 6x Control (Zero unique archetypes)
>BR7x Aggro (2 unique archetypes)
>RG7x Stompy (2 unique archetypes)

When you're a building a deck, how do you tell if it's "good enough" without playing it a bunch of times? Genuine question, I'm new to this
>>95951238>When you're a building a deck, how do you tell if it's "good enough" without playing it a bunch of times? Genuine question, I'm new to thisYou don't. Playtesting is the only way.

>>95951196Design-wise, sure. But Duskmourn had such awful flavor overall that they're tainted by association until they see use elsewhere. At which time, for my purposes in the Format That Shall Not Be Named, I dearly hope they reprint pic related under the classic definition of an arcade as "a covered passageway with arches along one or both sides."

There doesn't need to be a brand new keyword for every color pair every set to make things different. >https://deadline.com/2025/06/magic-the-gathering-movie-noah-gardner-aidan-fitzgerald-writers-1236441529/
>EXCLUSIVE: Noah Gardner & Aidan Fitzgerald have closed a deal to write the live-action Magic: The Gathering movie for Legendary Entertainment and Hasbro Entertainment, sources tell Deadline.
>Magic: The Gatheringโs ongoing storyline, set in a multiverse of fantasy worlds, has been expanded through card sets, novels and even crossover collaborations with franchises including Dungeons & Dragons and The Lord of the Rings. Legendary Entertainment and Hasbro Entertainment announced their intention to launch a Magic film and TV universe, kicking off with a feature project, in February.
Will you watch?
>>95951306What are you talking about, the bonus sheets are a great way to improve the EV of a set and make for a fair but complex draft enviro- ACK!!!
>>95951310I don't understand why they shelved all the in-universe, intellectual property fortifying shit like the netflix show, the novels, and the comics, only to suddenly try to ramp it all back up now that the game is less "Magic" than ever.
>>95951301>Man who wasn't around for OG Ravnica attempts to comment on OG Ravnicakek
>>95951310It won't even get a hatewatch from me. I'll just make shit up about it and post it online because I know nobody will fact-check me on it as long as I sound confident enough about it and keep doubling down, because nobody will subject themselves to (re)watching it just to disprove some random on the Internet claiming an obscure fact about a scene he claims everyone overlooked.
Even if they do, for some reason, rewatch it just to disprove me, they lose because they had to rewatch an MtG movie/TV show.
>>95951310Probably not. MTG has no identity anymore. The odds of them being able to produce anything even remotely decent is close to zero.
>>95951331whoa... a brand new keyword... this is totally not a RB aggro card...
>>95951354It is extremely embarrassing to post this type of shit about OG Ravnica in particular, one of the most diverse and complex draft formats, with basically zero hardened archetypes beyond knowing your safest color trios.
Is this card called different in Japanese? Should be those who fight further.
I checked and english is the only with the shitty translation of Fight On but I can't read Japanese.
>>95951362whoa... is that a keyword???
this has to be a unique archetype and not GB graveyard...
>>95951310Depends on what it's about. I'm more willing to give it a shot than I was the D&D film, at least.
>>95951368It makes it more available for later reprinting.
>>95951295You want to have a turn 1 play, then 2, then 3, etc.
>>95951382The D&D film was surprisingly pleasant
>>95951380To repeat, OG Ravnica is a seriously terrible block to try to make this point about. You appear to know absolutely nothing about how the format plays out, and are just spamming irrelevant things based on vapid, surface readings of any given card.
>>95950704Don't encourage the jews and trannies. We'll get leyline of the broken shit in every color every set from now until next year when the game goes bankrupt.
>>95951395I take a moral stance against any attempt to establish a single, unified D&D canon when the entire point of the game is being able to tell your own stories about your own characters. I will not contribute to my hobbies becoming lifestyle brands.
>>95951380Do you think any card that uses the graveyard just slots into a graveyard archetype?
>>95950770Nobody cares what your dumb ass thinks. Shutting down an entire deck archetype with one card for 3 mana isn't a "counter". It's just bullshit.
>>95951405I would really and sincerely understand this autism because I'm usually inclined to agree, but it very explicitly takes place in Faerun, and it's not as if they haven't been pumping out Drizzt content in the same vein for ages. Normies will continue to think all of D&D is Faerun or Greyhawk like always, and people with taste will play better systems anyway.
>>95950731It really says a lot that there has never been another black leyline printed since the first one when every other color has had about 3 or 4. LotV is another card like Nemeshit that just shuts down an entire deck archetype and often FOR FREE ON TURN 0. Never should have been printed.
>>95951396wow, another keyword...
what a brand new concept for GW that doesn't involve making a bunch of tokens and going wide
maybe I'll draft auras instead, that's definitely a thing and not the insistence of a retard
>>95950739Leylines are fine. Some are just bullshit like Punishment or Void. In the wrong matchups they literally just say "Your opponent can't play the game."

The absolute fucking biased tilted discriminatory shit state of this game against White.
>>95950786No, HE is just a tranny that works for the company. This is FIRE design on display.
>>95951435Here, answer me this:
In OG RGD draft, in what situation would you try to draft a GW tokens deck?
>>95951405>leomund>acerak>mystra>melisandre>amgrig>raelHow is this all okay with you then?
>>95951427LotV is fine because graveyard strategies are repeatedly thrust into the limelight in incredibly broken ways and having silver bullets is fine for that very reason. The drawback of a deck archetype that puts all its eggs in one basket is being blown out by sideboard swap-ins like RIP and LotV. If you're a more generalized deck you won't get blown out as hard. I may as well complain that enchantress will never be a viable deck because there's a plethora of 2 and 3 mana cards that wipe all enchantments without targeting.
>>95951446It would be too mask off and alert the goyim to how he has been secretly pushing super powerful white cards for years that he refuses to ban.

I think my favorite archetypes of the set were mono red control and 5c aggro, those were good design
>>95950807There isn't one. That's why the meta is utterly dominated by copies of the same fucking deck.
>>95950872Imma let you in on a little secret: some abilities should never be printed. I didn't say you're not ABLE to print them. I said you SHOULDN'T print them. "Players can't gain life" is one of these.
Can you imagine the absolute bitching and seething if there was a trinisphere printed for 1 mana or a leyline that said "Players can only cast spells whenever they could cast a sorcery."?
Isn't it funny how certain colors (Grixis) continually get to abuse the game rules for 25 fucking years. Hell they get so bad game rules have to be changed. Blue broke the legend rule by using it as removal. Red changed combat by being fucking faggots.
>>95951493>He thinks UR in OG RGD is spellslinger at all
>>95951310>>95951327>I don't understand why they shelved all the in-universe, intellectual property fortifying shit like the netflix show, the novels, and the comics, only to suddenly try to ramp it all back up now that the game is less "Magic" than ever. It's just a ruse for investors, they don't want to do this stuff but if it looks like theyre putting forth the effort investors will stop bothering them about it
Investors see the value in it, the board doesn't, simple as
it's hard to know who is right, will a big blockbuster movie make money and draw more people into magic? Or will it be shit and a waste of resources
the D&D movie is acclaimed by many, but did it didn't make a lot of money and it didn't move the needle on any D&D products after release (did it?)
>>95951416Sure. But I'll refrain from engaging with the Faerun stuff and won't give them any money for it. Same reason I didn't buy either of the D&D crossover sets.
>>95951458None of them come up in my games, so I'm "okay" with them in that I never have to think about them.
>>95951493You're an esl. Stop trying.
>>95950883Game will be dead by then. It already seems about 90% of the way there.
>>95951405>single, unified D&D canonThat has existed for a long time
>>95951506Why is the movie coming up so often in your games?
>>95950934That's not "interaction". That's just shutting down the game in your favor instead of red's. NO one player should ever be able to totally shut down the game like this.
>>95950960Stop calling it "interaction", homotrans.
>>95951502I'm sorry sir, you're correct. It was actually the aggro graveyard synergy archetype.
>>95951502Actually, it might've been the 0/1 tribal archetype, it's so hard to remember.
>>95951301>>95951354>>95951380>>95951435>>95951493I like how these retard posts illustrate the vast difference between nuMagic and older magic.
RGD was an insanely complex format. Even if it had surface similarities, you almost never ended up using any given mechanic for an "archetype" related to that mechanic.
Dredge was used to hammer through midgames with auramancer lists. Hellbent gave a similar late game edge to push through the last bit of damage. The tokens of Selesnya were used more as grindy finishers in control lists than any sort of "go wide" strategy.
Even with surface similarities between keywords, the difference between nuMagic formats being just "draft le signpost uncommon and force the archetype", and older formats having a lot of intricacy in how any given mechanic slotted into each game.
Thank you for showcasing this. nuMagic truly is a pile of worthless shit, in comparison to what we once had.
>>95951502Hold on, I just remembered, it's actually the 2 mana 2/2 with hybrid color cost and two activated abilities of 2x cost archetype.
>>95951096Nobody wants UB shit.
>>95951535>>95951540You typically played UR-core decks as a sort of slow-pressures tempo deck, relying on Vedalken Dismisser and Ogre Savant to nudge tempo in your favor during the late game so you could finish off their life total with whatever you managed to stick.
You are basically just embarrassing yourself here. Trying to pretend you know how the format played out by pointing at cards that you would almost never touch in the real format.
>>95951103HIGHEST SELLING SET OF ALL TIME!!!
Just don't ask anyone to show you their cards or play with them anywhere because we can't seem to find them.
>>95951555>slow-pressures tempo deckWhat the FUCK did he mean by this lol
I'm late but fuck you all anyway. We're doing the side-story first. https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/magic-story/edge-of-eternities-the-doors-of-uthros
>A woman named Geldan is being given an ultimatum for her work with a research group
>The one firing her is a jellyfish alien, who seems polite enough
>Basically, she's told to go and investigate something the Uthros Combine is up to, and if she gets that, they'll clear her debt to them
>Because she has literally no other options, Geldan accepts
>Basically she has to get close to an installation of some sort, one that doesn't officially exist, with some gizmos to transmit the info back
>She does have a partner in this, Rezint
>She has some internal griping about how bad her situation is, how Rezint's suffered for her own problems, etc.
>The mission starts, and initially things go well, with them using a storm to mask their approach
>But then something goes wrong with their borrowed ship, and they start to get sucked into the storm
>In an effort to distract herself, she starts talking to Rezint about the vests they were given to wear, and they make note of how many extra things are on there that probably shouldn't be if it's just to transfer scanning info away
>Best guess Rezint has is they're covering their bases, but he doesn't have a real clue either
>Geldan discusses maybe selling info the vests don't pick up to competitors as a sort of revenge for getting sent on a suicide mission like this
>And then they make it through the storm and to their destination
>They get the gear on (including some Monoist suits that she traded her ship in for to begin with), take the lifeboat and get out to the planet
>As they approach their target, Geldan gets a sick feeling in her stomach
>They bypass some monstrous sentries and get to the research center
>Soon as they set foot there, she feels a weird pressure, something that's telling her she's dying
>But they carry on
>>95951506I'm gonna be honest I only pay to see movies at the theaters when I'm out with friends or family so the thought of paying to watch it didn't even enter my mind. I torrented that shit.
>>95951505If a movie is profitable in its own right I wouldn't think it would necessarily need to draw in more new consumers directly. A significant part of a brand is recognition and association. They want the game to be associated with young, hot, city goers, hence why they banned that guy for the asscrack photos and do all these dumb secret lairs by "art collectives."
Anyway, if I had to be in the brainstorming room, I would partner with major theater chains and have them each offer a fairly cheap but iconicpromo card for ticket purchase (probably swords, counterspell, dark ritual, bolt, and llanowar elves), and buying a popcorn bucket or something could get you a more valuable promo (idk, Smothering Tithe, Gifts Ungiven, Necropotence, Splinter Twin, and Scapeshift?). That would basically be guaranteed sales for everyone involved from any demographic that might be interested, and for kids and casual fans it'll just be a nice memory. I still have my promos I got from the pokemon movies somewhere.
>>95951564>>95951564If you played the format, you would know what I mean. I also went on to explain what I meant, but I guess your attention span is too short to read more than half a sentence?
>>95951555>slow-pressures tempoAnd wrath of god is a slow pressure aggro card
>>95951181I half expected the ships to have "spacemanship" or some such bullshit because flying in space didn't make any fucking sense. What are you doing, attacking with your Questing Beast in the vaccuum of fucking space?
>>95951096Suck a dick i will not even use FF regardless the power of the set. I'm so glad ended being a weak ass trash.
>>95951579It's not in the format, actually.
>>95951573To elaborate, I'm often shocked at how much wizards is willing to whore shit out with lairs, bonus sheets, premium products, etc., but their actual promotions with other companies have been insanely lackluster. They did branded hot pockets for some reason (classic snack food le gamer shit like the league coke promos ig), but that was just for arena credits. The last time I remember them giving out promos for purchase of a related product was the inserts in the manga.
>>95951579Heartfire hero is a great example of a fast pressure control card
>>95951553everyone wants UB shit
just not fags like you who probably dont spend any money on this game
>>95951244Ah so we can add video game consoles to the list of things in the multiverse now. Excellent.
>>95951241Except that sales are in the toilet and JotC are lying through their busted ass teeth about them. That's why they've been playing artificial scarcity tricks to make sales look better to investors. That's why they rigged the pro tour to make it look like FF cards were worth a god damn.
>>95951542>auramancerI knew it was you
nobody else did this
not a single person
>>95951607>>95951612What's bothering me about all of this (as I've ranted in these threads about many many times before) is that the idea of a rapidly progressing infrastructure and technological industry in a broader fantasy world is actually a potentially very interesting idea for world building and flavor, but all we've gotten is OTJ (where they've got telegraph lines and railroads and shit but they're just neon blue for some reason, no explanation for how the tech really works) and then duskmourn which just has 90s tech but run by ghosts for some reason? But how they power the tech and why they do it isn't explained? And also elves and kor are native to the plane? but the ad just had a normal burgerland 90s house with yellowed carpet and fridge magnets?
>>95951306Yeah that's because everyone has given up on JotC knowing what the fuck they're doing at this point. How the fuck do you fuck up something as basic as a booster pack as badly as they have? It's no wonder the game is in the midst of an identity crisis when all the trannies at the company have only been there for 5 months and literally don't even know what the fucking game is.
>>95951631Moldervine Cloak and Galvanic Arc were two of the best cards in the format.
>>95951617The serialized viscera seer's should've gotten people way more worried. We've reached sports cards levels of bullshit to pretend there's value in the collectibles beyond immediate utility and natural scarcity. People actually paid several thousand for unplayable companions because they had some numbers tacked on.
>>95951310Ah yes, new upcoming "these plans will fall through once again" kino. My favorite. Honestly the only entertainment left in this game is watching JotC flail like retards and lose their asses in the fire.
>>95951638Yeah, it really is... something.
Aetherdrift in particular gets to me. The whole manifest destiny but it's gay, where suddenly there's a race track through three entire damn planes and it's only explained by a handwave. But the whole failure at large is awful too, just random anachronistic chaff appearing out of nowhere and suddenly pervading every corner of the multiverse. It's unhinged, and easily the sloppiest, lamest worldbuilding of any IP that I am aware of.
>>95951327Because they're idiots that can't finish a job.
>>95951653>two cards make an archetypeShare with the class a single guide or post (other than your own schizoshit) talking about building around auras
>>95951368Stop ESL'ing on my 4chan.
>>95951669It is honestly like twenty cards. It was a fairly notable archetype in the block.

>>95951690Justice Smith's character was funny so honestly idgaf. You got a smoking hot redhead elf too.
>>95951446Imagine if blue got HALF the mistreatment other colors got. Investors would be hanging themselves in their penthouses.
>>95951468>LotV is fineStopped reading there. No it isn't. LotV was the beginning of the end for erasing entire zones from the game which is what JotC are doing now with the intense battlefield and graveyard hate. Give up now. You are never turning MTG into HearthStone. I literally won't let you.
>>95951711LotV has existed for 19 years. There is a greater chronological gap between now and LotV's inception than LotV's inception and the creation of Magic. There are adults working jobs, paying taxes, and voting who are younger than LotV. LotV has weathered 4 different US presidents and the start and end of wars, marriages, friendships, and untold lives.
>You are never turning MTG into HearthStoneAnd what are you going to do about what "I" am doing
>>95951505Yep, Hasbara is following the yidsney model but with less money: destroy your brand for woke points because the CIA paid you short term profits to do so, then lose your entire audience, start flailing like an autistic retard making >9,000 bullshit products nobody wants, hoping they can please both the CIA and the customers and just end up losing even more money than if they did nothing at all while burning their reputation to the fucking ground. Just like yidsney, hasbara is also full of trannies and jews preying on children:
>>95942830 It's basically a disney clone at this point and headed for the same disaster.
>>95951603You keep denying reality and I'll continue to enjoy watching you flail and die as a company.
>>95951778It's a shame your mind is wasted on fictitious problems instead of something more productive or even simply dying in war
>>95951638Korra did it right, but its team was competent, yes, despite the inevitable whining about wahmen. I even had the same Idea for MTG years ago and it would have been more like Kamigawa Neon Genesis Evangelion, but then the fucking hooknosed kike had to insert his beloved spessmen and rayguns bullshit into everything and just went and did what he'd always wanted: turned the entire fucking game into the acorn universe. Just another jew destroying something a white man created.
>>95951666I think people wouldnโt be turned off by these sets if they took the time to write a half decent story and go into detail with the workdbuilding. People want it to feel like Magic the Gathering. Anyways the story has sucked for a while and Cube is the only way to play.
>>95951827Korra is a good example. I think of the Discworld novels, specifically how they use electronic semaphore towers instead of telegraph lines, and how the work culture and customs of the tower workers are actually fleshed out.
Might be unfair to compare a book to a card game, but whatever. The lady they have writing the short stories is actually pretty competent, but they've clearly got her railroaded hard. I think the only part of the nu phyrexia story I liked was Gisa and Geralf's duel.
>>95951658Honestly, I don't even believe people are buying any of this shit. Corposcum are just too much in the habit of consistently lying about everything including their profits nowadays and taking dark money to compensate for the losses. Basically every corporation is state-run now for all intents and purposes.
Vroom vroom vehicle Chad's how we doing?
Eating good huh?
>>95951666The funniest part is that they've decided to give away a fucking spark as a present for this contest and then let the psychotic demon who wants to kidnap people from every single dimension and subsume them into his Magical Realm enter the race.
Also the fact that he hires the goth guy he hates to run the race. Why?
>>95950704leylines are good design ONLY when they are stax pieces
>>95951761Don't care not listening. LotV is wrong and so are you. End of discussion. I'm no longer interested in bantering with faggots actively destroying the game I used to love. You get told you're wrong and you're a faggot and you will like it. Nothing else.
>>95951852>I don't even believe people are buying any of this shitI have unfortunately witnessed this with my own eyes.
>Basically every corporation is state-run now for all intents and purposesI fucking wish. If we had a magic game in a planned economy it would be dirt cheap, we'd get one expansion a year, and worn and yellowed decks would be littered all over community centers and public schools.
>>95951836>I think people wouldnโt be turned off by these sets if they took the time to write a half decent story and go into detail with the workdbuilding.Gonna be honest.
A story about a group of psychos that just experienced three apocalypses in a row, getting an idea in their head that they're going to save the multiverse with a big race tournament, only to go on a bloodthirsty crusade of manifest destiny in order to build their grand prix race track through all the planes is...
Well, it's not great. But it's at least not total shit like what we got. It could have been cringekino. But instead, it was just cringe.
>>95951813Never dying in your fake war, kike. But I AM doing other things. I fight the war against your demonic kind on every front. And more than that, I make sure others are aware of it too.
>>95951869A game you used to love, what, 19 years ago? You have no legacy and will die alone if you're still mad about it now. And you don't get to pull this "I'm ending the discussion and I win" shit when you're this easy to provoke.
>>95951878And meanwhile kikes get to slaughter christians wholesale every single day. You've done nothing. You will die a failure.
>>95951836You're forgetting that the kind of person that would right such a good story would never have bastardized the game like this to begin with.
>>95951878>I fight the war against your demonic kind on every frontYou post on 4chan. You aren't doing shit. You know exactly where wotc headquarters is.
>>95951867Also just several strong auras and Hexproof dudes in general, like Moldervine Cloak being one of the best cards in the entire format, as mentioned above.
>>95951571>They do some investigating, find one of the Illvoi using a terminal of some sort>They break in, quite literally, using their fancy suits to punch a hole in the wall>Rezint explains what he saw on the terminal, among them the words 'big', 'deity', 'ending', 'eat' and 'land'>As they get closer to their final destination, Geldan's mindset seems to get a bit more selfish and confident, though she doesn't voice much of that, so it's probably nothing>Then they get to the doors>Geldan makes the decision to actually go in and take something rather than just letting the devices do the work, Rezint argues against it, saying that what he saw on the terminal was likely 'world-eater', and that's not something Geldan can just take>She asks him if he can't feel the same pull she does, and he snaps that he does, and that's exactly why he's so worried>He tries to convince her to walk away, she doesn't, and goes right for the door, removing as much of the devices as she can so she can take what's there freely>The door opens with ease, weirdly enough>And inside is... Something, that seems to be many things, a corpse of a titan, that even now is messing with reality>She begins to understand that the Illvoi don't really understand it, but she apparently does>So she stays there until whatever is happening can remake her, and nothing will make her leave
>>95951896For as much as schizos and ideologues act as if they're righteous and "fighting the good fight," the only incidents in the last couple years that involved an actually off-kilter but morally sound individual committing to the logical conclusion of what's happening were Aaron Bushnell, Luigi, and Elias Rodriguez. Everyone else is just blustering.
>>95951867Damn, it really sucks to see modern cards and then look back and remember how fun and flavorful card design used to be. I love Flaring Flame-Kin and it has great artwork MADE BY A HUMAN BEING too.
>>95951898So is it another mindrape villain? Can wizards write any villain that isn't "megalomaniac dictator who wants to be powerful for teh evulz" or a borg knockoff?
>>95951916i cri every time
>>95951924I was looking back at old core sets and just remembering all the cards and mechanics that people have loved since the beginning of the game that ol' hooknose and his band of mary child molesters have now deemed "don't fit the color pie" and remembering how people used to play this game to have fun. Now we're not even allowed to HAVE core sets.
>>95951877What sucks is that I donโt find anything too aesthetically out of place with the vehicles. Looking back at the much beloved past in MtG history the artifacts have all sorts of wheels, cogs, fantasy tanks, etc. What fucked up Aetherdrift was the fucking race. Saturday Hannah Barbara cartoons. The omenpaths have a ton of potential still. In my head just create a story where a plane invades the other due to resources or some assassination. Then you can have more kino interplanar fights that utilize an increase in knowledge in magic and artifice. I just wrote the Brothers War all over again didnโt I?
>>95951924Kaya liberated the spirits just like Lincoln liberated the slaves

>>95951950>ignoring the fact that this was treated in the story as a big fucking mistake that had consequences for her
>>95951945I brought up withering boon once as an aside to the non-blue counterspell question to be funny and he decided to berate me to his sycophants. He's got about 5 people on tumblr who ballwash him under every post. It's absurd.
>>95951949>What sucks is that I donโt find anything too aesthetically out of place with the vehicles.Nah I mean, they're fine in a vacuum. The Brothers' War was BattleTech vs robot dragons and it was fine as hell.
What makes the Glistening Oil fuelled cars and bug piss guzzling vampires not fine is how they're just completely ex nihilo.
>What fucked up Aetherdrift was the fucking race.It made beyond no sense. Why would a people just ravaged by multiple apocalypses in succession be even remotely thinking about hosting some frivolous bullshit like that? Why would they be spending scarce resources in the post apocalypse to build a fucking race track? It's fucking dumb as fuck, man. It's stupid. It's garbage. It fucking sucks.
And yeah, the Omenpaths opened tons of potential for interplanar politics and clashes. But instead we get a universal post-scarcity hugbox where everyone suddenly loves each other and everybody on every plane is accepting of gay people and also war is totally over and evil people just kind of hang out and never do anything to actually threaten anybody.
>>95951955Yeah, another mindrape villain. Like I said. Wizards can literally only rotate Phyrexians, eldrazi, bolas for over a decade now.

>>95951981Honestly the more appropriate response for multiplanar unity after a major invasion would've been a battlebond return. In a dream world it would've been a diplomacy and political intrigue set on a neutral plane, but MKM showed wizards can't be trusted with that kind of storytelling.

>The narration's taken a swerve back to the more abstract, with what seems to be a transmission coming in
>The transmission seems to be from a Monoist, giving instructions on how to deal with the Summists and some reinforcements being sent
>Then the narrator asks if you've ever had a dream about falling
>Answering no just goes "What a shame"
>Answering yes carries on
>We're now following a guy called Alpharael, who is falling
>He has no idea where he is, why he's falling, what's going on
>He hears his sister's voice, looks around in confusion, then looks down
>Right into Sothera's supervoid, and below him, falling too, is his sister
>They're on the Plummet, a sacred journey to fall into the supervoid, to follow the Faller
>But Alph's having second thoughts, he's telling her to wait and that they're not sure but she retorts that they are, they KNEW Monoism was a death cult, but they also 'know' it's correct
>We learn some more of their beliefs, that they think everything will become a black hole and lead to a newer, better world, a 'world without walls'
>But Alph's too terrified to commit, despite already falling, and he pleads to his sister to pull back, because he's worried that despite all their faith, they might no longer inhabit the same universe, and he couldn't bear that
>But she's already falling anyway, and he can only desperately plead for her to stop
>She tells him to live without regret (he is apparently no longer falling)
>He says he wants a different choice, she says this was her choice, he says he wants to change her choice
>Something catches Alph's feet and starts to pull him away, and he sees his sister fall and crunch horribly and painfully, and his faith breaks
>Two choices, basically the same, asking if that was a dream or real, leading to the same section, a final transmission from Raphaella, Alph's sister
>>95951974They're under every post. Funniest part is I wasn't even suggesting they make more withering boon cards. I just found it funny a guy was asking for them but didn't know they already existed.
>We will have to deal with Uncle Ben and Prince Zuko in Standard for many years at the end of this fucking year
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA END THIS STOP IT!!!! STOOOOOOOOOOOOOP
Oh my god the story is so generic wtf
>>95952018Can I just say that I really fucking hate the CYOA style they're going with on these stories? It ends up jarring and breaking the flow of what ends up being a linear story anyway. Besides, it's pretty fucking obvious that Sami found the Gem of Becoming and the Immortal Faller is Jace. So what's the point?
>>95951964Literally my favorite lore in the entire canon is when Kaya basically fucked up Orzhov's tax policy. It's like something /biz/ would write and it's god damned hilarious.

>>95951981What sucks is I like what vehicles do for limited play. Did some of the vehicles actually function on glistening oil? No way
>>95951981Exactly. Urza, Mishra, Phyrexia, the Brothers' War, etc. are all parts of well-established canon that USED TO HAVE entire novels backing them. What MTG is and what it isn't was established a long fucking time ago. They even have a fucking name for the flavor and aesthetic of world design, but I'm not cringe enough to use it.
>>95952023I hope these people meet a tragic end holy shit. Imagine being such fucking loser tranny faggots
>>95952102>Did some of the vehicles actually function on glistening oil? No wayNo, it's just a meme since they referred to the fuel as "oil" and it was literally DIRECTLY after the Phyrexian invasion that they started using it.
>>95951405This is the single most arbitrary complaint I've ever heard. The movie doesn't even assert a "single unified canon", it's just a self-contained Forgotten Realms story. The only non-FR element is acknowledging Mordenkainen's existence, and FR and Greyhawk have had the overlap of "Mordenkainen goes many places" for their entire existence.
>>95952018>She's written some death poems, but she's not JUST preparing to die in a black hole, she's imploring her loyal brothers and sisters to deal with the Summists, lest they undo her sacrifice>Her final words are to not judge her brother for his own choices, and that nothing tests her faith>Next section is Alph waking up>He sees what he at first thinks is Raph, but quickly realises is just a steward waking him up, with a message for him>The message is that his sister's sacrifice was completed, she's fallen, and her falling was also used as an attack on the Sunstar's flagship, Dawnsire>He has a lot of internal panicking, but the ultimate issue he has is "why was she chosen, when they're identical except for sex"?>And all he says to the steward is he wants to die>He then asks for a message to be sent in reply, a demand that he be in the wave>Cut to Alph at a party, being stupid and trying to forget about his feelings>Nobody KNOWS he's about to die, but many people can tell something's up with him anyway>He finds he can't even bring himself to break down crying about his sister, because on some level, he thinks she'll be right back, that she's still alive, it can't be that sudden>Then it's time for the assault>He's given a little bead of Monoist-blessed... Stuff, that he knows he'll 'fall into', called sehkar>He knows that, when he wills it, it'll open, and he'll collapse into a black hole>He gets into armor he's barely used, then a ship he's barely flown (notably, one of the ships doesn't fly, and apparently that's because the way their ships work is they only fly if their arrival is inevitable, so the one that doesn't work would have been intercepted)>He gets sick, and others laugh, but not cruelly>The ship he's in is aimed straight at the Dawnsire>They're basically gonna ram it and deploy an artifical event horizon to stop themselves getting immediately vaporized, however that works
>>95952068I mean, you're probably wrong about the first part, it doesn't resemble it at all beyond vaguely the same shape.
>>95952123How hard is it to have people or creatures be fuel for some vehicles? Like some ass black aligned ass hole just throws you in the gas tank and you become fuel. Tsabo Tavon versus Gerrard Capashen
Ixidor rewriting reality to bring back a version of his love in Akroma
The journey of Kamahl from barbarian to druid.
So many classic stories.
But now you look at the last 5-7 years, and nobody can name half the fucking characters or stories anymore. Nobody cares.
Niggerheim? Oh yeah something about giants and nigger angels and color pairs whatever.
Capenna? Crime bosses and Elspeth with a teen angel girl maybe something happens who cares
Bloomburrow? Calamity beasts threaten Redwall critters and I think Maha had her egg stolen or something, the rest is muddled by broken Otter card kikery
Wilds of Eldraine? Kinda interesting but the main story is literally just a reskinned version of Sleeping Beauty(awesome btw) and using a Wicked Queen variant as the spell caster. Oh yeah and the pied piper side story with a rat king.
Nothing stands out anymore. Itโs all just generic speedy slop rushed out the kitchen and then onto the next thing before you can blink. Itโs no wonder this company has abandoned its own original stories in favor of crossover advertising slop.

I haven't been to my legacy weekly in a while, it's kind of died down in favor of premodern the next day. I think we're going to fire tomorrow though, and I'm debating what to bring. Here are my two options - the first one is more meta, it's U painter.
>>95952438And the second is a dated list, but it's my favorite strategy and kind of my "signature" - UW Delver.

>KaldheimVorinclex snuck onto the plane to get world tree sap, Kaya was trying to hunt him down but failed, Tyvar was helping her but also his brother who led the elves, all their miniplanes were merging with more and more consequences, like Alara. Don't remember Niko because I didn't read that one story.
>CapennaThe demons were using Halo for powers and sustenance, which turned out to be dead angel juice. But they fucked up all the angels a long time ago so they were running out, except the Cabaretti had found a survivor who could provide more, Giada. Elspeth was there to find how the plane repelled the phyrexians in the past, turns out it's her home plane. Ob Nix killed the Maestro vampire leader and took over, Vivien did absolutely nothing, Urabrask was also there to scheme against Elesh Norn.
>BloomburrowCan't remember the frog wizard's name, but she was an apprentice whose village got destroyed by Maha, and fled to Mabel's village. They formed a band to fix the issue, had some Redwall adventures, met Ral who became an otter, fought a dragonhawk which was a kolaghan brood turned eagle. The twist was that they were going to king Glarb to get help against the mercenaries who stole Maha's egg, but he was actually the one who hired them, to try and control the calamity beasts. There were also some mild hints at Jace doing shit.
>Wilds of EldraineThere was some giant sleep spell across the plane when they fought the phyrexians, but now it's harming people. Kellan traveled around with Ruby to beat up all the witches who cast it. Turns out he's Oko's kid. Rowan and Will had sibling incest succession crisis, she was more warmongery and he was more peaceful or something like that.
I don't think I was 100% accurate on everything, but I'd guess I was pretty close. It's all slop, stop trying to pretend like the shit back then was some masterpiece.
>>95952219When we will be able to kick all this people away? Which kind of UB franchise will be the final nail?
I'm building a set of decks that are designed to play fairly evenly against each other, using mainly Innistrad block cards I have lying around, in order to help teach some friends the game as well as play short matches during lunch at work. I so far have seven two-colour decks and want to make an eighth one to allow for potential small tournament style play:
Gruul Werewolves
Rakdos Vampires
Dimir Zombies
Golgari Elves
Izzet spellslinger/burn
Azorious Spirits/Flying
Selesnya Humans
I can't decide on the last pairing or theme to go with. What were the Innistrad themes for Orzhov, Simic, and Boros and do you have any suggestions?

Armageddon is mainly used on GW Terrageddon decks, BW control decks, and White Winnies, with the later haven fallen out of the META a lot recently. Neither of these decks have a fast win since they mostly try to control the board. Your fastest Armageddon lock-down would probably be on a White Weenie deck in a situation where you'd cast some Savannah Lions and some other low cost creatures and then cast an Armageddon to maintain that early superiority and beat down the opponent before they can do anything again. This would usually happen at turn 4 the earliest.

>>95954004Gush > Foil your answer.
>>95954026I mean sometimes they have everything, but that's not even close to most games. Normally they're trying to sculpt for like 4 turns, and then protect a dreadnought.
>>95954035It's ridiculous how often they do have everything though. The deck runs 4 foils, 4 gushes, 4 vision charms, 4 stifles, and if they're on the play turn 1, they can also daze whatever you play so you're left with just a turn 2 play to be able to answer the dreadnought if they play the combo straight up, which honestly speaking, happens around 25 to 30% of the times. I know, it's ridiculous, but having played against stiflenought decks on paper it actually happens that often.
You'd think that since there are only 4 dreadnought in the deck, it would take a while for them to get the combo, but no, they have so many times early on it's absurd, I shit you not. Same thing for the good old gush > foil = free counter I just mentioned.
>>95954026So you're allowed to play interaction but nobody else is?
You need to find your 2 card combo and stick it and attack twice and protect it. Control just needs to resolve a single piece of interaction
>2nd swords
>>95954066Let's be honest here, the chances of anyone having 2 swords is pretty slim. The chances of the stiflenought having gush / foil and or using the gush to find the foil are much bigger.
>>95954057In standard right now there are at least 2 decks that if they have the combo in hand, can kill you on turn 2 unless you have instant speed removal. You NEED to have a turn 1 untapped land + torch the tower / burst lightning (cut down isn't reliable, I guess disfigure is)
or you die on the spot, before you even get to untap on turn 2
Prememedern stiflenought says that if they have the nuts on turn 2, you get an opening to kill/bounce it on their turn 2, then untap your turn 2 and get another chance to remove it at sorcery/instant speed, then untap on your turn 3 and get yet another chance to remove it, all before it actually kills you on their turn 4
How unthreatening is that by comparison?
sure they COULD have instant speed counters or phasing. And if you play instant speed removal and they phase it out, they trade 1:1 to counter your removal BUT you also effectively gain +11 life and last one more turn.
How does that stack up to something as degenerate as
>t0 leyline, t1 scamp, t2 pump x2 win>t1 molt tender / llanowar elves, t2 manifest dread/growing dread + splash portal
>>95954086>How unthreatening is that by comparison?I'm sorry, you misunderstood, I'm not trying to compare, specially not against the broken ass piece of shit that standard is.
All I was just stating was how strong the Stiflenought deck is in premodern. I am well aware that in other formats there are a lot more stupid and ridiculous combos that get played by turn 2, which is why (in my opinion) Premodern is actually one (if not the) of the most balanced formats anyone can play right now.
>>95953749>Eldrazi at homeWe all hate it.
>>95953781This one could be cool if they made the n like a space marine and there wasn't just woman (white woman) pampering him.
>>959541032.5-3.5 turns of window to interact with something before it kills you is incredibly lenient for any format right now

>>95954113On the topic of Stiflenought though, what kind of decks do you think often have a better chance against it? In my experience so far, I think discard control decks are the ones that can go head-to-head with it on most games.
>>95954026I bounce my Island to daze the foil
>look at premodern meta
>what's this? a $3.5k deck? WTF?

>>95954121How does nether contamination fare? Pretty much every card hoses it somehow
>4x duress 4x cabal therapy to pick apart your hand and prevent the combo / remove counterspells>smother, powder keg and innocent blood to kill it>contamination locks you out of the game and all you can do is daze/gush, granted it is far easier to counter than the rest
Iโm willing to bet EoE will break the meta again I donโt know how yet but we will all suffer it
>>95954136Mono Black Control is definitely a good deck, I agree with everything you just said, it does have good ways to deal with it, specially if you're on the play turn 1. The thing is, card draw on blue is so absurd that even with all the hand disruption, it's so easy for the stiflenought to find the combo, since it's only 2 cards basically.
>>95954124Oh shit!
It's actually funny because Stasis has been crawling back into the meta recently and it pretty much is a pain the ass for stiflenought decks to deal with. The stasis shuts down half of the combo since there's no upkeep, the dreadnought can't phase back in if the opponent vision charms it and then the Stasis deck also runs a fuckton of card draw and counter spells.
>>95954152Yeah but I think there's a point of a deck with so much saturation of ways to answer dreadnought that it can't respond to all of them
They throw down a powder keg on t2, do you counter it or do you try to dig for pieces on their end step? Now even if you draw it, you NEED a vision charm or 2nd stifle to protect it, and they could have 12-16 cards in their deck capable of killing it

>>95955330>nobody wants FF slopI do nigger
>>95953403Artificial inflation to make the product seem desirable. You shills are fucking retarded. This is the most basic bitch market manipulation imaginable. Shit like this FF propaganda campaign JotC is pulling are why schizos always win and corposlut gobblim always lose.
>>95955330>Close EncounterWhether its fake or not doesnt erase the fact that the set looks generic and boring, you dumbfuck
>>95953516They fucked up mounts btw. Years ago I already had the idea and it was handled totally differently (and better).
>>95953600This dude is just transparently a JotC actor.
>>95953664Cool, but get that FF slop the fuck out of here.
>>95955353The guy won with the most hated deck of the last 2 years. Whats there to act? It just makes them look terrible because this couldve all been prevented if they stopped designing like retards
>>95953781Ah yes, a white card, as demanded by israel. Imma put YHWH in the game and make it a black tranny in a wheelchair with vitiligo. We'll see how mouthy those kikes are then.
>>95953794This kind of art direction is NEVER being allowed again once the game is taken over.
>>95955370taken over by who?
>>95955344I assure you, with cards like these, no market manipulation is needed.
>>95953898Remember how the last time everyone was white was the vampires from Ixalan that were supposed to be seen as evil colonizers of strong latinx they/thems and there was a vote where they became the most popular but then JotC pulled a democrats at 4 am and the poll got shut down and when it reappeared Dinosaurs won? I remember...
>>95953917Treasure tokens are getting eradicated from the game.
>>95954252Yes, the ones in the CIA will do literally anything kikes say. They're the devil's children.
>>95955131This is just that disgusting fat nip, isn't it?
>>95955131>>95955170The fact that the assorted child predators at JotC are STILL pushing poison counters this hard - LITERALLY the worst game design mechanic in the entire history of the game - proves this thing is dead. Without a hostile takeover of the company, there is just no coming back for this game at this point.
>>95955263Yes, but he's in the evil colors so it's not only allowed, it's demanded. Also he's a they/them.

>15/15 sab-sunen, luxa embodied
>doubling season
>fully unlocked mirror room/fractured realm
>no other permanents because I blow up all his lands/artifacts/creatures every turn
I can't destroy his enchantments, sab-sunen is indestructible
every turn he's forced to draw 4 cards and put 4x +1/+1 counters on it, but it can't attack or block because its always stuck on odd thanks to doubling season
his only plays were forest -> llanowar elves -> both get destroyed, for the rest of the game
I just let him mill out

The FF one has a bunch of alternate art shit now.
>>95955324>>95955454Interesting. I just discovered something. For some reason the word "cards" is replaced with "prints" on FF. I have no idea why it's doing this, but this really helps with syntax searches now that I know this.
>>9595539210 cards in FIN alone with treasure tokens
>>95955131>"Leak">All commons/uncommons>Teases "warped creatures" without revealing what they areHow do people keep falling for this?
>>95955309Nah man I actually agree with you but at the same time I'm providing these fuckups as an example of how they wouldn't magically make WotC competent.
>X system would force them to put in more workNo it wouldn't. We're well past the point of them caring about putting out unacceptable product. For every reality blocks prevent us from seeing another Aetherdrift there's 20 that force us to sit through it for a year with one piece of each block dedicated to a leg of the race and the pisspoor plot that accompanied it, except this time it's stretched even more thin.
>>95955464You can't just refute the schizoposting with evidence like that, where do you think you are?

>>95955345I didn't say the cards were fake. I said the "whoopsie look what I got" performance art was fake. So was the pro tour win. And anyone that doesn't see that deserves to be parted from their cash.
>>95955360He didn't win. He "won". Literal performance art/advertising to sell the FF slop.
>>95955464>>95955493I said "are getting", not "have been", you fucking ESL subhumans.
>>95955481They don't, which is why the company is plummeting into the abyss. But always remember the first rule of judaism: never do the right thing that might be to your advantage when you can expend 10x as much energy trying to play tricks instead, even if it hurts yourself in the end. God forbid they should just make the game good. But then how could they have trans representation and remove all those filthy whites from the game and get BIGOTED SEXIST PHOBES AND IST HWAHT MALES to stop being the customer base so we can cultivate the "modern audience"?
>>95955491I don't remember ever saying the current team should be allowed in an office building. Mark nosewater and his troupe of trannies should be forced to live on the street and beg for heroin.
>>95955496But the fact that it IS staged should tell you everything you need to know about how bad it is. Same with the fat nip wearing a crisp brand new FF shirt and "winning" pro tour (which I'm not sure any non JotC employee even plays anymore?) with a FF finisher. The official 9/11 story was more cleverly rehearsed and believable than this.
>>95955481It's a common printing mistake where commons and uncommons from a set get replaced with another set. Pokemon had this happened months ago.
>>95955583Wouldn't it save your life to encourage the opposite?
>>95955559You said something wrong
Treasurefags will continue to rule the game
one of the many problems I find with the MYRIAD types of tokens cards produce these days, is that they are all artifacts
what if WotC created a new type of card, restricted only to tokens, like "Item"

opponent plays a 3/2 for 2 with ability on turn 2
I reanimate omniscience on turn 3 and churn through every card in my library to win the game on the spot
>>95955549>>95955553You can replace the guy with anyone, but as long as the top 8 is red trash no one would care. Yes the best way to advertise and shill Final Fantasy is to have the deck comprised of broken cards from Bloomburrow and Wilds of Eldraine.

Holy shit these are so fucking bad
Uthros Scanship is 4 mana to get an effect we get for 2 mana, with upsides. Roiling dragonstorm, bitter reunion, etc etc, there's like 20 copies of it now
but hoooly shit you can tap EIGHT fucking EIGHT power of creatures over the course of multiple turns, just to get a 4/4 flying
are you fucking shitting me what a horrendously dogshit rate that is
its sorcery speed so I can't even keep my creatures back as blockers, then station the spacecraft on opponents end step after they choose not to attack
nope I have to go full shields down with no blockers with a couple bears for 2 turns in a row just to get the super great payoff of a 4/4 flying that I already fucking paid full rate for at 4 mana
its not even card advantage at 4 mana
oh and of course it doesn't even work with all the mech hangar effects to crew it, it can't be cheated onto the battlefield as a creature, it can't be animated as an artifact because all it would gain is flying and lose its P/T anyway
>>95955863>but hoooly shit you can tap EIGHT fucking EIGHT power of creatures over the course of multiple turns, just to get a 4/4 flyingI, for one, embrace our new "When ~ enters, each opponent may gain 8 life" overlords.
>>95955863>oh and of course it doesn't even work with all the mech hangar effects to crew it,This is the best part. Brand new parasitic mechanic to ignore all the previous support for said mechanic.
inb4 new Pilot token that crews vehicles, saddles mounts AND stations vehicles with 2 greater power. Because fuck it, who even cares anymore. Aetherdrift 2 but now it's in space and just print all three of them in one set.

Ironwall Keep
Land - Fortress (U)
Reach, Vigilance
{T}: Add {C}
Fortress 4 (Tap any number of creatures you control: This lane becomes an artifact creature until end of turn. It gains defender unless the creatures had combined power 4 or greater.)
4/4
Lucid Musing {1U]
Sorcery - Dream (U)
Flying
Scry 1, then draw a card.
Materialize 3 (Then you may tap any number of creatures you control with combined power 3 or greater. If you do, this sorcery enters the battlefield as an illusion creature. Its no longer a sorcery.)
2/2
Prime Metaweld {1RR}
Artifact - Machine (U)

Weld 6 {Tap any number of other mounts, vehicles or spacecraft with combined power 6 or greater: Prime Metaweld becomes an artifact creature}

>>95955855They probably though these were great cards. Remember: trannies have below average IQs and above average self-confidence and sociopathy. They genuinely are proud of everything they destroy, thinking the turd smear they've wiped across the world is an improvement.
>>95955884I didn't. I did say it NEEDED to or the game is finished, but I also had full confidence in nuHasbara's ability to fuck everything up.
>>95955888Stole the sentiment right out of my heart. EVERYTHING JotC does now just makes people remember that it wasn't always like this. The game that's "unbalancable" used to be somewhat balanced (blue was always cancer), the mechanics we are now told "break the color pie" have been around since fucking Alpha and people used to love them.
