Probably A Song of Ice and Fire. The moment is beyond passed. Even when the show was airing, during the later seasons I don't think there would have been a huge amount of hype for it, and now who the fuck cares?
Show ended badly like 5 years ago, and GRRM has pretty much confirmed he's never finishing the books. I doubt most people can even name all but the most major of characters anymore.

I seriously think anything Hasbro has a license for is a possibility though. Minecraft is incredibly high on the list of possibilities. Maybe just as a secret lair. There WILL be a chicken jockey card.

I think Barbie is also not impossible. I know the moment has passed for the movie tie in, but Hasbro has worked with Mattel before for a Barbie Monopoly and Transformers Hotwheels, so if they ever do a Barbie 2 I would expect Barbie UB or SL.

Can't decide what's worse

How would you improve the Scions and Spellcasting deck while keeping it Final Fantasy? I play this super fucking casually just with friends and family but some of the people at the table are a bit sweatier

My first thoughts were swapping out some of the 1 and 2 mana artifacts for 3 mana mana rocks to proc Yshtola's effect and giving me more mana, swapping the SGE artifact weapon out for MCH artifact weapon, sticking some of these big mana FF14 raid bosses in to add some new win conditions and chaos and then tossing in a few more 3 mana counterspells to also proc Yshtola's ability and protect against any exiles or board wipes. I really like Propaganda and forcing opponents to pay mana in order to attack me so maybe I'll squeeze in Ghostly Prison and Collective Restraint too because those have won me games in the past

Dredge is super polarizing because it just plays in a way that totally orthogonal to what a typical opponent is doing. Dredge doesn't care about most removal spells. Counterspells can stop Dread Return from resolving, but they can't stop Bridge from Below triggers. Targeting Thoughtseize at a Dredge opponent can if anything actively help them. Dredge is simply not playing the same game as a normal deck; it's as close as "not Magic" as any competitive archetype has ever gotten. It's "bring graveyard hate or die" as a deck, and there is very little you can do to interact with them outside that

How to build Sonic and Shadow? Sonic seems like you could lean into flash creatures, include stuff like pyroclasm to deal 1 damage to your whole board and generate a ton of treasures. Shadow wants creatures that enter, attack and die, so he works well with unearth and blitz, although unless you're going full combo route his second ability is mostly unused

Unearth is a bad choice for Shadow, because unearthed creatures exile themselves instead of dying, so no trigger.
The metafag approach to shadow would be to just slam him down as combo protection, since you can set up a sac/cast trigger combo and just use any spell with mana from an ashnod's altar, treasure or mana rock to make your combo uninteractable.

How do Henzie players deal with this? I've played against him a few times and this does seem to be the case, he attacks in with some fatties but they die and he ends up being bullied out of the game because during opponent's turns their boards are almost always henzie and nothing else. I kinda wanted to build him but knowing my playgroup it just feels like i'd get bullied out of the game every time

Every time I post that image I don't think people read it properly. The years at the end of some of the names are how long they held the rights. Overwatch was 2019-2020 meaning they no longer have the rights, same as WWF


It's not impossible that if Hasbro is on good terms with the IP holders they could get them back just for Magic, but it's way less likely than any of the IPs they currently hold rights to. Depending on the contract they may not even have to do anything at all to print Magic cards with the licensed IP on them, and if they do have to vary the contract with how UB has sold they'd probably have absolutely no issue arranging it.
Negotiating a license for something they used to have the rights to will depend on what terms the relationship ended.

4 mana is fine, you're in RB. Both colors have good rituals so you can very easily turbo him onto the field and once he's there his second ability effectively makes all of your combos uncounterable. And reds also the best color for treasures.

Because Doublers are Timmy cards, doublers are typically enchantments, and Timmys rarely pack anywhere near enough removal (if any) and some colors can't even touch enchantments at all so enchantments often stick in Timmy pods. I am now thinking of making an awful Commander deck where every single card in the deck has a different awful parasitic mechanic that nobody knows how it works. So I can have enter the dungeon, locked rooms, clash, manifest and megamorph, Champions a creature, phasing, Shadow, experience, poison, energy, foretell, split second, suspend, epic, and seven different kinds of split card that all have different unique rules interactions between the two halves

The exchange between cards in your graveyard and mana in your card costs is an incredibly easy one. Nobody has ever felt the loss when they exiled cards to pay for Treasure Cruise, but they sure as fuck felt the effects of the Ancestral Recall they were suddenly playing.
Dredge dumps cards in your graveyard whenever it wants at any speed it wants, and it has 99 cards to work with. Running out is only a practical concern if the game stretches on for twenty or so turns. Even if you Delve away 6 cards or so every turn, that's still over 15 turns before you lose by decking out, plenty of time to beat everyone else to death with your 8/8 trampler commander that will always trade positively with every removal card in existance.

honestly insane how much fun ive been having with magic recently, i like playing because mechanically it was fun but i never had a regular group and playing with randoms at my old local shop never really felt good since most people would walk away from the table if you hit their commander once, and in general i never really clicked with anyone at locals
