Except like 90% of my wins are decent games where someone plays a land every turn and plays mostly on curve. But like 70% of my losses are from screwing/flooding/mulliganing giving me 1 land hands.

The spreadsheet was datamined a year ago, but don't think it's been updated. Basically removal, cards that were good in standard, and anything that was good when brawl was created have a high point value, but the highest impact cards are commanders. A deck with 60 tryhard nonlands and a low rated commander still won't be high enough to get paired with a 99 land ragavan deck.

it's pretty fun! The economy at first seemed whack, but it isn't as BAD as it seemed as they have redistributed everything through events and modes that the original didn't have. It's a good time to get into it as having guilds in 3D lobbies+guild chat makes the experience way ronerier than your typical TCG.

I didn't really have a specific list in mind, as there are a lot of Dimir midrangey builds that are similar. But yeah, that's a solid list. I think Cecil might be better than the Spyglass Siren, and the Vren seems sort of unnecessary. I'd also run Gix's Command over the Phantom Interference in the main, although Gix is rotating soonish so it probably isn't worth crafting.

I feel like the shuffler needs a different kind of algorithm to feel fair. In normal real life people tend to stack cards in a certain way where there is a healthy mix of lands and non land cards spread evenly throughout their deck. No matter if you riffle shuffle or overhand shuffle (essentially just cutting, but with smaller packs) there is no way that you get 6-7 card clumps of land or non-lands. It's just not possible with a real deck unless the person purposefully put them in their deck that way to begin with. If you understand how shuffling works, none of it is truly RNG. The shuffler on arena feels so bad because it doesn't take any of that into account and goes a "mostly true" rng route where you can just get fucked over and over again by crap RNG clumping lands together.

Stacking/cheating is doing that and then not shuffling or letting your opponent cut. No one goes to a game with their deck in some random ass order with all the lands in one half. I'm not saying be an autist and carefully select every card's placement and then do perfect shuffles like some magic trick to ensure you get good cards. Just don't be a retard and leave 10 lands stuck together in your deck. That's how most normal people play the game. That's why the shuffler feels so awful compared to a normal in paper game.

you need to focus on 2 colours and then have Noctis be the only single card of your third colour in your deck (played off 1-2 dual lands, blitzball, and 1-2 off-colour basics).
with blue your base colour because Urza is like the best card in the format.
I would have went 7-1 with that pool if I had to play it for you.

Personally, I find it most helpful to build my deck once I commit, the only time I dont is a late pivot.
If you are cutting cards as you pick them it helps you keep your curve and creature/interaction counts accurate while being able to see what spots you can cut chaff for upgrades. When I end a draft I have no more than 44 cards in the deck, so I only need to think on a handful of adjustments.

If you aim for 10 wins a day, you can reach level 33 at the end of the mastery period, shown in the yellow boxes. You don't get XP for daily wins 11+, only cards and a small amount of gold.

If you've loaded up with trash permanents you can sac for card selection or draw, like Treacherous Blessing or Hopeless Nightmare, you can quickly rip their hand and field apart while chaining into the next Doom.

Doesn't mean you've won against all decks, but since it's control you've got already got a pretty good idea of what you're opponent's running by the time you've stabilized.

You'll get a lot further along, but still a few levels short of capping. You could use the gems from lvl 45 to get a few more orbs and 2 more mythic cards, so it's up to you to make that choice. Level 50 isn't worth it, but it's up to you if you wanna get the final orb and card style, and presumably the achievement, too.

Look into damage increase cards. Ojer and Twinflame Tyrant are both weak to creature removal, but the Tyrant will also double damage to enemy creatures and Ojer can be returned as long as you can continue dealing noncombat damage. Virtue of Courage is an enchantment, so it's much harder to remove for red and black. It will snowball through your deck once you start to trigger your creatures multiple times.

Replace some of your cheaper, simpler spells for spells that can proliferate so both Ral and Vivi grow their +1/+1 and loyalty counters faster.

Stick with your budget deck for now, play the starter decks to get a feel for how the game works. IMO the best course for Arena is to copy a netdeck so that you have something you can reliably grind with. It's not as fun as messing around, but since your gold income relies on you winning, you really want at least one good deck if you want to acquire more cards at a reasonable rate. Right now is a volatile moment, since we just had a huge ban wave in Standard, one of the biggest ever. The meta will take some time to settle, in the meantime you could play some Jump In events to start getting decent rares at a decent cost. Long term, you'll want to either get into constructed events or draft, those are pretty much the only reliable ways to get a big collection while f2p.

That's definitely not true, people make some truly terrible brews. Though with the starter deck queue now it's less important than before, you could grind that for quests if you wanted to. However, I'd still advise against it, as I think one important thing that netdecks help with is learning how strong decks work. You get to understand how aggro needs to play, how control prioritizes different things, why midrange will run certain cards for certain matchups. It's very hard to come up with a good deck by yourself, especially when just starting out, I don't think there's any shame in looking at what others have done first.

I wouldn't say it's not f2p friendly, but it is repetitive until you can generate enough redeemable wildcards to make a deck you're interested in.
The starter deck duels are simple enough to play for beginners and are more or less equal in power. You'll be able to get your 4-5 daily wins in about an hour a day and progress to build a modest collection over a few weeks.

As you progress to mid and higher brackets, you can ease the requirements by choosing monocolored decks. This lowers the need for redeeming wildcards for rare lands.
A monowhite lifegain deck isn't too bad of a starter deck. You should be able to make a deck that'll gradually increase in power as you replace cards. Try to reach Platinum in constructed ranked if you want both of this month's prize cosmetics. No worries if you can't grind out the games. It's only cosmetics and one or two packs of 8 cards in prizes.

If deck building's a little above your head, search for some decks online and copy what most other people use. But you'll have to build a collection of wildcards first. In that sense, where you need to grind the wildcards before testing a deck, yeah, this game's not forgiving.

Here bro try this. Youre missing the theme of vivi in your build. You really need to be buffing vivi to ramp out more stuff so i added buffs, fixed your removal, added better creatures. Your deck is light on 3 and 5 drops because you want to be playing vivi those turns so whatever you play instead better be great. You mean to diss Dimir specifically? I'd say Kutzil's Flanker casted with uncounterable mana from Cavern of Souls. It will resolve and the trigger will exile the graveyard. An early Rest in Peace could dodge a stray counter but it's not guaranteed, also it can be destroyed or bounced later if it just sits there. Flanker has Flash and will keep them on their toes whenever they try to use their graveyard and you threaten enough open mana. If not playing White then a Soul-Guide Lantern will do.

Pros: colorless, cheap (which makes it easy to slip through some countermagic), not blown up by Black, can draw you a card if needed, activation on demand to exile the whole graveyard

Cons: can be bounced if needed by the opponent (you can activate it in response but will depend on the opponent if it even hurts them at that right moment or not), can be countered by certain countermagic if not casted turn 1, ETB trigger can be countered by Tishana if it was casted on later turns

If you dont pay money arena traps you into playing standard. Standard decks are cheaper to make, you make 1, build a collection over time from the mastery pass and events and playing, but only the most recent cards, most of which aren't used in any other format aside a few rares/mythics that are deemed powerful enough. Eventually you get bored of your deck and go looking for other options, but you only have a measly pittance of wild cards, but luckily you pulled a bunch of good cards from your freebie packs so you can make another standard deck! So you spend your wildcards on the missing pieces, have yourself a new standard deck and you're back in it, never escaping, never building up enough wild cards to break free and try other formats. It's a vicious cycle.

This has to be one of the most miserable (online) card games I have played in my life. Why the fuck do I have to play and WIN ranked games to unlock pretty much everything in the game? Why does the tutorial require a new player to win ranked games? I'm either using janky decks made from the base cards and the things I'm openning from packs and I'm against functional and synergistic decks. I don't mind losing but I don't stand a chance. Someone at WotC thought this was a fine introduction for players? Something that will keep people playing? I don't recall it being like that when I last played in ~2018.
