Don't take offence at a percieved slight, seeth silently about it throughout the entire game and later create a rambling rant about it on 4chan about how you were right and your opponent's playstyle, game choice, application of rules, toy selection, colour, race, sex, creed, age, or political affiliation was wrong. Nobody cares.
For TTRPGs specifically, if someone made a character that's very oriented around doing a thing, try not to outdo that thing, even if the system mechanics let you.
Intelligence is realizing that you're playing a game where casters are broken. Wisdom is knowing not to make your cleric a super-martial that does everything your fighter does but better.

>>95976242 >be polite >be efficient >have a plan to kill everyone you meet Very applicable to boardgames.
>>95972623 (OP) "Accidentally" break every Xenosfag army you meet. It's fine, it encourages them to buy new models thus increasing Xenos revenue :^)

Learn your own faction or characters rules. Nothing worse then having to pause over and over because a player is facedown in his paperwork trying to remember how any of his shit works. Or they're bugging you about it, I don't know how to play your character or your army, that's your job.

>>95972623 (OP) This is a game, everyone is there to have a good time, at the end of the day of it's not a tourney or similarly competitive, just be congenial and shoot the shit unless someone else starts shit, then it's probably best to just leave.
>>95972623 (OP) >wargaming Listen, I know my paintjob's great, but show a second of self discipline and mark the minis position with a die or something before grabbing it off the table and ogling it. And JESUS FUCK wash the cheetos dust off your hands before doing it.
For players: >Know your character sheet. Know how your stuff work. You don't have to read the whole books, just the parts that concern your character, systemwise. If you're into canon lore, even better. >Be silent and pay attention when its not your turn. >Be ready to act when it is your turn. You had all the other players and NPCs turns to think what to do. Now do it. >Do not argue or bargain directly with the GM. Engage with the fictional world through character action to get what you want of it. Instead of "GM, may I roll this or that", tell exactly what the character will do to get it. Most of the time, you will succeed without even needing to roll. >You're allowed to talk over other people if these people are female.
For GMs: >Prepare the session. >Do not tell a player what their character is thinking, feeling or how they react to something. Tell what happens to them, they tell how they react. >GM screen is for cowards. Roll openly always; or don't roll at all and simply tell what happens. You're the GM. No one should argue or bargain with you. They should engage with the fiction. >Talk to your players in their character names in session. It will work wonders for immersion. >Put every female player into a situation of sexual harassment, abuse or rape, just because "its realistic". They will all thank you for the mature content and praise your GM abilities.
