it would be the best but it has 2 glaring issues
1-it only counts human deaths, which severely limits your sources of energy
2-unlike emotions, life or automatic, death is not exactly a renewable source, once they die that's it unless you loophole it with revival magic (which may or may not work depending on WHAT the core absorbs to create that energy)
3-there is a cap of 500.000 dpu per day, which prevents you from fully abusing the potential gains from death
4-you start out as a weak baby demon lord, so it is in your best interest to lay low for at least a year to properly prepare, with death/human disappearances being quite noticeable you run a high risk of being discovered before your first year is up.

personally I like automatic because I don't have to waste time and effort to prepare the methods to gather energy, and I know exactly how much I'm getting so it makes it easier to plan ahead on when and who I'm summoning next

There's something called "reproduction", not that the player needs to care about that.

>there is a cap of 500.000 dpu per day
Is this supposed to be an argument?

>you start out as a weak baby demon lord, so it is in your best interest to lay low for at least a year to properly prepare, with death/human disappearances being quite noticeable you run a high risk of being discovered
You are incapable of critical thinking. Teleportation and scrying solve these issues perfectly. People die and disappear all the time, so you don't even really need those two powers.

>I like automatic
So you're genuinely retarded.

You don't even need to kill them yourself. You could take scrying and abyssal witch to pick up corpses of the recently deceased. If you go to Scar, Maya, or Harmonia, I'm sure there's enough death going around that you could live of by stealthy hanging around battlefields and picking up the necessary resources.

This is where Teleportation, Summoning, and Witch minions with portals come in handy.
Just teleport to a far away village/town, Summon Witch and 9 Orcs, kill 50 people, Witch opens portal and Orcs bring their corpses back to base. Do this a few times with a Witch and eventually she can coordinate everything on her own.

So doing the bare minimum that's not "cowering in a cave somewhere". Wow.
>You are going to attract a lot of unwanted attention
Every planet except for Harmonia gets informed you're there. Living in a town has 0 impact.

>Is this supposed to be an argument?
yes, why the fuck would you pick death when literally every other method except for automatic leads you to the same result??? at least with the other methods the kidnapping is only a 1 time deal and you forget about it until they grow too old

>People die and disappear all the time, so you don't even really need those two powers.
if you target villages and such 50 disappearances are VERY noticeable
if you target cities then they are obviously better defended and you run the risk of accidentally disappearing someone important, which again means people start looking for the culprit

not to mention that it would be a massive waste of time for you and your minions, even with teleportation, to look for and kidnap 50 people EVERY single fucking day.

>So you're genuinely retarded.
and you are a delusional edgelord, at least in other cyoas you get real benefits for shoving people into grinders, this is just inefficient and retarded

Not even 7k people, if you keep 1389 persons for 24 hours, it would equal to 50 deaths per day.
>other options require even more maintenance
I mean, you could equal that (considering max income) with:
>~209 persons suffering a lot
>~209 persons very happy people
>~42 persons in an endless orgy
>~417 in a lot of pain
It's the choice between having a lot of people or a few in more specific circustances.
Also death doesn't say that they need to have been killed by your hand, so stealing corpses from hospitals or necroteries are also valid.
Personally, I think that life is the best option.

Yea, essentially. If you use all your debt points you're essentially giving up around 40 or 50 points in the long haul for 15 or so short-term. Which sounds bad, but if you're going to edea or something it could be really useful since you only need to survive for 100 years.

Look let me be completely honest. I think william is probably a great guy, but something about there being a demon lord of dinosaurs just rubs me wrong, that feels so stupid and out of place, I need to kill him to sate my autism.

I'm gonna try to trade for minions from the women demon lords because I like their selections a lot, and if I can get access to them and then spend points to unlock stuff like lamia and beastmen and stuff later that's great. Xargod is going to be the main source of conflict, but if I can't get the other demon lords to submit at some point, i'm gonna start killing them. For some reason I really like torporia, so she's the only one I hope I don't have to kill, although she's super lazy so it'll probably be easy to make her a subordinate demon lord.

extra stats is also good so you can protect yourself or synergize better with certain abilities

abilities are also a strong choice, all of them are really good

extra energy source is a hit or miss since you are still limited by the 500.000 total cap

extra minions is also hit or miss, because you still have to wait to gather the necessary dpu to summon them and they are kind of expensive compared to other uses. Like with 1 points you could unlock 1 minion that is worse than you or your guardian, OR you could get 1 other ability or 2 extra stat points

core upgrades and traps are alright but I would say the 4 points you get here are enough

servants are not a bad choice as they all offer something to improve or strengthen you minions or yourself

With all of this said, I would not use ALL the debt points, maybe just 3 or 4 to give me a stronger headstart without locking me in debt for a century

cape
cape
md5: 431a34241cb42b9af526004a41e8877d๐Ÿ”
Idea for an artifact.
>The Ever-shifting cape
The lands used to be ruled by tree devil-queens who all hated each other. One of Sol's greatest lieutenants, the trickster, had an idea to use their foes to their favor, so he asked the sage to bless his favorite cape with his threefold blessing.
The trickster, who was the greatest folk hero to ever walk the world, had earned the respect of the beastkind, so a thousand old or crippled members of the race offered their lives to bring about the birth of a miracle.
After their collective ritual suicide, the sage took their shifting energy and imbued it into the cape that the trickster used to trick the devils into open conflict with one another, leaving them weakened.
The cape grants you temporary supernatural powers in line with the shapes you take with the power of the trickster.

Not properly tested? Well alright, maybe there will be something broken.

I assume steal works with one only person's skills at a time since they don't get it back until you steal somebody else's. So fuck steal. Cruses are boring. Old paintbrush is cool though I wish it was tied to my soul. Fuck it let's pretend they are. So Old Paintbrush and Reality Remote. Those are the two soul powers I bring with me.

Is the way this works that they literally stole my reincarnation? So if I was meant to be born the prince of legend, that witch will take my place and be born as a crying little baby but presumably keep her smarts? If so, it might be nice to be her twin and be like "Bitch I know what you did." But neither of us can really act on it because we're babies. But then there's this weird sexual tension because we did come out of the womb together but we also don't see eachother as siblings and also hate eachother but are forced to cooperate as siblings y'know?

Rival and avatar both give tangible benefits, powers and epic glowing body, but it makes for a less compelling story. Being the antagonist would also be fun but no, I'll go for twin.

Okay so we're born, maybe for the six months not truly aware but somewhere around that time we become aware. This is a hassle for her too, she probably lost a fair amount of power by being a baby. But she still has her knowledge. So she'll start training up her magical reserves and such as soon as possible.

I will associate my right hand with the brush power and left hand with the remote. Brush will be my bread and butter because it acts as a powerful weapon with the paint thinner. Treat it like a dagger, get in close and erase the enemy. It can do magic too if I can start drawing fireballs, typhoons, all that.

I combine with with fast forward on my left hand for the extra fast drawing.

Remote I could also eventually use 'guide' to see info about things. Stop/freeze/pause could be OP. teleportation is nice. Good stuff

Points are in very short supply. And some of the pathways are baffling. Arguably it makes the most sense to pick the eternal life one, but since that really comes with no other meaningful change to my life, I think I'd be happier overall with the unconditional love from my ideal woman, and then, I dunno, bearmode 2.

(Also, sexytimes 3 and 4 are both really poorly thought out. 'Random woman' is more likely than not to be someone to whom you would likely not be attracted; 'doubled length and girth' for most people is going to result in something that would be unpleasant for the partner)

But hey, if I get doubles with this I'll add the Super Health 5.

You know what anon, I don't know why I'm the current shitposting target, but the fact I can leave the thread mostly for a week and half, say one thing, and then come back to an entire thread destroyed by someone's obsession is a bit insane. Doubly so any presence seems to stir some retards obsession.

I was going to make a waifupicker, but apparently anons hate waifus, and others want to shit up a thread about for some reason. Honestly, I'm flattered you think of me so much. but the current state of the thread has deteriorated so much (in general, not just about the softie posting, although this recent shitpost obsession is a bit crazy) that now I'm going to hold it hostage. I wont make anything until the general wave of shitposting stops, mostly because I would like the thread to not be so shitposter oriented nowadays, as it keeps driving away anons. These shitposter(s) in particular is now actively holding OC hostage, just remember that. I'll still be here sometimes, same schedule I am now which is if I remember or someone tells me something happens, I'll be around. So you can continue furiously trying to get my attention if you want, I guess. These threads are boring nowadays, lack of OC is one thing, but its just nonstop boring low effort shitposting, I'm not even particularly concerned with it being about me, I'm just tired of seeing incessant shitposting in general.

My build was gonna use resting leaf as a heavenly instrument and instead of using talismans I would apply poison to the origami. It just felt too weak and narrow for the amount I needed to invest into it though, especially when transmutation exists. It's a shame because I really liked the idea.

I guess I ended up making a sort of Jedi with Portal magic and Healing. Really this was just whatever seemed easiest living (teleportation, inventory, friends) while maintaining the experience of humanity and a little challenge.

Cycle fate seemed key in the end. Though at first it's intimidating by suggesting ego death, you'll be living multiple lifetimes anyway. This way you can try out life as a woman or go native for a while to shake things up. Mostly though, the ability to respec a small number of stats means you can go in and out of Mega Mind per an incarnation. Which is both valuable but also might be ego destroying without an exit. I like that.

I imagine this character mostly starting a healing cult and becoming a local figure of awe. Selecting companions among the promising or waifus, that will also help document the world. Bestowing elf like lifespans on talented progeny for companionship and power. I guess he/I would have try to start some great Hwan empire posthaste, while couple of decades traveling the world seeding legends - which is much easier with advancing correspondence magic. Maybe start a secret magic school for followers.

Emilia is best and Grim is close 2nd. You can make big part of your fortress 5x5 corridor. Which is hard to march a big army in so your main concerns with keeping your core safe will be heroes/demon lords/their guardians and other elites. Emilia gives you best way to deal with them by just making them weaker and fast. Works really well from defensive position where she can observe most of them and you can use traps/other minions to capitalize on that right away. Grim bypasses durability and prevents resurrection which similarly helps with dealing against strong opponents. They also work well together 1 makes them weaker and other kills them off.

Defending your demon core will be your main concern at the start so I think these work the best. Others are more situational, like if you wanted to go to Maya and fight Xargod. Then Seraphina is a good option. If you want underwater Kraken is good.

I think there's only one really reliable build in Intarsia, without having more details on what the average enemy is like. Let's say you take magic projectile, force shield, and enhanced physique, which I think is a pretty balanced meat and potatoes load-out. I can't imagine how you'd use that to defeat Talos, and he's a must-beat enemy, otherwise the world ends. Even with allies, assuming they're all around the PC's level of power, even ten of them couldn't beat this thing. I think The Fool power has potential to develop into something that could contend with these things if you're lucky but it's not assured and that's even if you manage to overcome the dangerous trials to get it to max level.

The way I look at it, Otherworlder is the most important power and it's more important than your allies, your other powers, items, all of that combined. It's the must pick for anybody that wants to triumph in this battle despite being a regular guy. It's not just because you might be able to trade for items that could be the weakness of some of these monsters, but that you could send something over and have it traded back, like a missile, and suddenly have it working right and with all the power it's supposed to have. At that point your greatest worry is whether or not Talos' eyes are indestructible since you do need to collect one after blowing his fucking ass away with mankind's thousands of years of technological accumulation.

Same deal with Leviathan, pass a couple of torpedos through the portal.

My powers would be magic missile, umbrella and stimulus, like I mentioned before. Seems to have pretty good coverage but I am aware that in most cases this isn't as good as even a handgun, but those are finicky now so whatever. Still, if even just a group of guys with rifles ambushes you it seems pretty impossible to overcome.

For traits, Zig's cranium since being a blindspot seems pretty important, Flezra's heart for early warning (this is a definite must take), and, uhh, Brachilag's legs in case there's need for a quick getaway. I was tempted by the heightened reflexes from Kurost's Nerves but I doubt they'd let you dodge bullets so the others have higher priority.

Items: Broken Oasis Breastplate. Easily the best item on the list for it's auto-protect function, this could help you from getting randomly shot in the back, that's long enough to put a force shield up. If I had to sacrifice all other item choices to get this one it's still what I'd do. Add Foolsteps since they pair well with the monster legs by letting me run full bore on uneven terrain. Third option doesn't matter. I guess the magic money. If Radousa's gift offered a tangible supernatural charisma boost, like for diplomacy and negotiations instead of just looks, I'd take that instead. Or if it made me REALLY shiny. But this is just subtle plastic surgery tier it seems like, at least to me. Cannot possibly justify picking it over any other choice.

Allies: Only one really important one is the Mysterious Wealthy Benefactor. This guy's an all-in-one. He's got the juice to get me top class sophisticated ordnance and the people that know how to use it, which is exactly what I need. Next is Nyx, since she's a blindspot and knows magic, maybe she can help me learn some things and has that natural shielding. Last one could be anybody. I guess Vincent for the versatility of his cocktails might be handy in a pinch.

Anyway I think this setup is pretty decent. Even if you say switching shit back and forth is metagaming, in that case I'll just use the magic money to trade for items that are the bane of these creatures from that otherworld, especially since they get buffed. My endgame is Balance. It'd be nice if we had an additional form of what is essentially technology and energy in this world.

What, you mean like your magic missiles becoming powerful enough to destroy Talos? I'd like that too but that seems pretty fucking optimistic, especially when the armed forces with all their shit (even if it only kind of works) can't take it down, it just seems a little...implausible I'm gonna be magically buff enough to defeat it, especially within a ten year time frame. I mean we're clearly not the only superpowered beings in this world as evidenced in the enemies section, if it was as easy as hitting it with magic someone would have beat it by now surely. And I mean I actually do envision growth, especially with Nyx as a magic tutor, but still, this seems a tall order. I would rather shoot it with a missile.

These two posts are ultimately caused by the cyoa having 0 indication of the rate of growth. This is a common mistake that plagues cyoas. Everyone is forced to pick a side in the unknown, which typically splits most people into the two camps of "this is impossible" and "I will win... somehow", with neither side having any real arguments and a conclusion being impossible due to the fundamentally no answer nature of the problem.

In conclusion, AUTHORS, STATE THE RATE OF GROWTH. ANYTHING, PLEASE, ANY STATEMENT IS BETTER THAN COMPLETE NOTHING.

Well, if it's for pure whimsy and fun, sure, I'd go with more unorthodox picks and test my might. But if you're taking the CYOA at face value, with the stakes being the world itself, plus a time limit, well, I just think it's wiser to let our thousands of years of technological/civilizational foundation do the heavy lifting instead of just you personally. The CYOA does not say you have plot armor or anything like that. You know, even the build I offered up isn't fool proof, that avatar enemy could fuck you over any second if she gets a lead on you. But that could happen to any build. It's a pretty challenging CYOA in my opinion.

The closest any build has to a plan is >>95961899 who basically goes "cyoa me will have the perfect plan, so I won't bother planning now", which, while justified, still leaves the amount of talking about what exactly to do with the task to a grand nothing.

I actually regarded the hands as being one of the top tier choices, but no matter how I think about it, they're just hands. They don't get any tougher or stronger with use, you just get more of them. That's great if you want to pretend to be Magneto in that one scene in Xmen 1 and have them each hold a gun, in fact if I wasn't tasked with killing Talos and the other creatures that is probably what I'd choose, but no matter how I think of it, it's a significantly worse and more limited version of just having an army, and if the real army couldn't beat Talos, me and my army of hands aren't going to be able to do it either. The bow exploit makes it kind of worthwhile since the projectiles would take on pseudomagical properties so there's something of an argument there, but while your build is more fun, I don't think it's as good as mine for the task at hand. It doesn't say the magical hands take on the properties of your personal mutated hands by the way, it just describes them as I did.

My build take Life and I was thinking of slowly building something like Kowloon Walled City inside (a close box with food teleport in), populate with human too young to remember the outside and the one born inside, feed them with foods made by Elven Druid somewhere else in the dungeon, the only real problem is if they one day pray at nothing in particular and that somehow alert the gods (since I'm hiding underground on Polaris). Not sure what would the best ratio of quantity of humans vs their quality but 7000 in a box without exit that don't know anything beyond their box shouldn't be much of a problem.
>>95980474
Only extra generation source for me, Automatic + your method of choice I think is the best, Automatic so you can start making minions and building a dungeon without needing to leave to use you other method. Once you got a well enough fortified position made unbreakable (bulwark) with some Tier 1 & 2 Minions guarding the only path to the core then you can leave without worrying about some random magic wildlife breaking your core.

Yeah it might be the best minion. Making portals is just really good to move your units around.

Skeletal warrior is another S tier imo, but not as good as witch. Mainly because of his trait that you can take which means you do not need to sleep. That like adds extra 8 hours you can be active everyday and you dont have to worrry about being ambushed during sleep and have a big advantage during long sieges.

And it gives you unlimited stamina which is also really good.

>So you're genuinely retarded.
Automatic makes sense if you want to run a hermit strategy (like the mermaid on Scar, or the dinosaur on Maya), or worried that you'll get stranded somewhere without humans to generate DPU (which might be a late game concern). A lot of these worlds just don't have the resources to send a team to the polar caps, or the abyssal pains of the deep sea.

And if you really want to discourage "guests", do something like set up in a jungle . . . and use your domain powers to turn into the arctic. Make all those wannabe demon slayers lug heavy arctic gear through the "green hell", before they even get to (your) defenses.

>>95980278

I think the Caladrius are the best Tier 1 unit, for the cost of a Tier 2 Unit you can have 20 keeping a Tier 3 or above unit alive by being annoying(pulling aggro), tanking (directly or as dodge tank) and healing the high Tier unit.
The Skeleton are good if you want an army made of T1.
I like Imp, a cheap range option with some homing, they only do one thing but they do it well.

I think the Arachne are the best Tier 2 to make an army out of, balance stats, can use weapon, Web for trapping before poking with spear and the silk is a great materials, gambeson made with it would be top tier armor for how cheap it is, get the ability yourself and max special power to make all you minion immune to cut with silk clothing.

We went over this back when the CYOA was released.
You place two portals in a vertical tube and remove all of the air inside. You then magically drop a small stone or literally anything else into the tube and let it start falling. Because there is no air friction, there is no terminal velocity, which means that after a certain amount of time you can just order the witch to swap exit portal position, and the blast will destroy any hero.
Even only a fraction of relativistic speeds should be sufficient. And the best part is that this isn't some sort of limited SSS-tier elite unit. You can have as many of these as you have got witches. This is your nuclear stockpile now.

The CYOA option seems to be heavily underrated, it is the only way to potentially combine the superpowers. Like Yourself becomes even more op as there are futures where I have access to Source Code, the book and other worlds. Cheat it even further with Sticky Notes and cast/craft magical items under buffs of Yin-Yang.

>And if you really want to discourage "guests", do something like set up in a jungle . . . and use your domain powers to turn into the arctic. Make all those wannabe demon slayers lug heavy arctic gear through the "green hell", before they even get to (your) defenses.

...Holy shit that is kind of genius. Though I do suspect it would be less effective over time as people knew what your base was abut. The examples of what adventurers can have and do include things like water mages being able to cast deep sea travelling spells and earth mages being able to burrow (and presumably make underground air and shit safe). I'd be shocked if it wasn't possible for (specialized) mages to cast some kind of environmental spell either to protect from cold or whatever.

Mages are explicitely specialized however. If adventurers start showing up with cold weather enchantments, switching your environment to death valley could keep the schtick going.

Yourself really doesn't need other options in its section; it's already insane enough by itself. Source Code? Forget analysis and calculation, directly obtain knowledge from Yourself (which can give you the ability to analyze and calculate...). Book? Worse knowledge in every way than Yourself. Otherworld? This is actually quite useful, but you know where all valuable resources are and how to get them with Yourself.

Sticky notes is a good combo with Yourself... but unnecessary if you think about it (as are all the other spells you can choose from). You can write down and learn a better recording method from Yourself.

While i'm thinking about this again, stuff that annoys me about this cyoa:

Minions are extremely specific and sometimes weird, meaning if you want to specialize in one category you're missing things. The general lack of cohesiveness of categories sucks. Like undead/demons missing core t2 line units, or nature missing pretty much everything to not make it a supplement roster.

Often stupid choices for minions, like undead dragons rotting for some reason or gargoyles literally just being better dullahans in every way, or goblins specifically being the goblin slayer rape type goblins that need external females.

Servants being race locked rather than templates or something, so if you wanted to go all undead, or all demons, etc you can't becaus servants cannot be those.

I don't knoe, like I said they give off goblin slayer rape goblin vibes. They need external females to breed for some reason, aka raping females of other species. Technically this could work with orc interbreeding, but I don't suspect orcs would be very keen on fucking goblins to have kids. They are seemingly explicitly the top instead of the bottom in picrel.

I doubt that. Yourself gives 50 years of knowledge (which is inevitably learned by alternative selves over a much longer timespan than 50 years) that you can switch at will. It is access to not only the alternate selves' self discovered knowledge, but also the knowledge of others in their alternate timeline that they have access to.

You can skip the analysis, directly know the complete composition of something, know its uses, AND have the skill to make use of it perfectly.

If you really want to do analysis, you can know all the analysis methods decades, centuries even, ahead of your time, and these methods include magical ones that we cannot predict.

And after analyzing something, you still have to figure out how it can be used and how to use it, aka the practical knowledge. Example: you know everything about a plant's components, but you don't know if it can be made into medicine or, if it can be, how to make it into medicine.

I like the Dungeon Core genre, but Living Dungeon kind of missed the mark for me. Getting all your powers up front, at the cost of a hard cap, isn't really a common feature. Oh well.

(In that respect, Dawn of a Demon Lord is closer to a standard dungeon core story)

Oh well. Give us a quick feel for what your undead and monster dungeons look like, please?

My idea for my Edea build was to use Territory Enhancement to prepare multiple extreme weather layers at the border of my territory. Go to the mostly intolerable equatorial region, have the outermost layer be a kilometer of arctic climate, then a kilometer of hot desert, then arctic, then desert etc, keeping just a core of however many kilometers all nice and temperate for yourself.

I had somewhat similar idea, but instead with underground dungeon + max size territory. So rather than a flat area, it takes advantage of 3d directions to multiply the length and complexity of the potential path to core, making it chore by itself. Combine that with chaotic labyrinthine design, monsters (including fuckton of Plants of Anguish), and the trick with climates but with every cavern wildly different, anything from sweltering jungles to arctic waterways.

I like it too but I like to optimize my build and the Karma make that pointless, since not matter how good you make something (not talking about making you dungeon literally impossible just so hard it might as well be) any random can still win.
No matter how much you work on you dungeon, it's going to get style on by some random in a convoluted way that will make you scream "how the is that possible".
So my build is just an outline and a few ideas for the details I won't bother finishing.

I was mostly banking on the whole setup making it too much of a bother for any non-hero force to even try and do anything about little old peaceful me who (ideally) only turns up once every 12 years to contract magic the hero candidate into mutual non-aggression. Seeing how airships, primitive firearms and magic automatons are peak tech (and thus rare and expensive) i predict a modest gargoyle air force to be enough to harass any supply lines through the desert if push came to shove. Similar to stopping the hero's travels should I be unable to contract him with my espionage network of familiars.

My idea for that was making a spiraling stairway big enough to use Bulwark, going form the ouside to the core.
Put some special power 12 webs in the middle to avoid someone jumping/flying and skip the stair, make the stair as long, short and inconvenient as possible (spike, uneven, hole), teleport monsters inside when needed.
And once they reach the top/bottom they can look forward to doing it again going down/up this time. Repeat for hundreds of kilometers, up, down, up, down.

The idea is to become a magical school/archive/research facility. Taking in population means more potential students and researchers.

I have a fuckton of ideas, for the kinds of organizations (yes, plural) I'd have internally, the dungeon's structure, and the kind of traps and challenges I'd have. Can't be bothered to post them all here.

Yes, the dungeon would actually be named "Shadow Wizard Money Gang," you can't stop me. Obviously, there'd be an illusions at the entrances and exits saying "Shadow Wizard Money Gang, we luv casting sphulls!" when you use them. Those would be one-directional teleporters, by the way. Should be possible with Anti-Physics and Commitment. This is good for both managing traffic and dealing with potential intruders.

I've never posted a single build for this CYOA despite working on so many, but this is the final product I ended up with.

Would you take the option to meet with one of the gods of Edea? I tried gaming out a "nice guy" Edea build, and couldn't decide who would be best to approach. The goddess of comfort might take a peace message to mean she could relax, and "forget" to pass it on. The god of protection might decide the best way to protect his world would be to lose the message, so that they can show just how strong the defenses are. A war goddess isn't likely to be interested in peace (or even a negotiated conflict), while we know practically nothing about the god of magic.

One of the reasons Edea makes me nervous. I can see how to make a bad guy build work, but a good one? That's so much messier.

Oh well, at least this one is upront about being worthless coomer shit for gender confused gooners to play while waiting for blacked threads to update.

I remember there was a kitsune one they did which actually seemed kinda neat at first, until out of nowhere it reveals the author is too stupid to know the difference between kitsune and succubi and it forces you into guzzling cum to survive.

It's even all a VR game, so even in the CYOA's universe it's pointless.

While I see it as along shot I would try to parlay with the god of magic since I would be settling down in his domain (equatorial desert). From offering contract magic to make sure my hundred years would be peaceful from all sides to "paying rent" in the form of using my time, elven druids and alraune apothecaries to create a livable oasis, free for Edea's inhabitants to use after I leave.
Though I am well aware that it really is a long shot, what with the gods' general attitude of "kill on sight with extreme prejudice" for all demon lords, fledgling or not.

I find Edea to be an easy and simple world regardless of how you go at it.
First of all you have 12 years before they even find a hero candidate. This basically reverses the situation compared to the other worlds where you are the new arrival among preestablished and experienced heroes since you have had time to establish yourself and the hero did not even know about being one until his 12th birthday (even with the established institutions backing him). They want to hide the candidate away and train for an unspecified amount of time after which he gets one blessing. While we do not know the exact powerlevel of such a freshly trained and blessed hero he is still young and green and thus arguably "weaker" than any hero on the other worlds (but still a hero). Then he does not go for you, but on what amounts to a tour of the world, a world where airships are high tech (and thus presumably rare and expensive) and teleport magic nonexistant. You should easily be able to gain air superiority to outright deny any airship transport, restricting the hero to slow and dangerous seaborne travels. Sabotaging those in various ways should be easy enough as well.

So long as you can stop the hero from attaining all four blessings he will not directly go after you, potentially allowing you to delay him indefinitely. These delays allow you to amass more power (points and dpu) and keep trying to defeat him. In this situation you are the one with initiative and on the offense who has to only succeed once, no matter how often you fail.

I mentioned my espionage network of familiars which should have just the right mix of being inconsicious, intelligent and nimble enough to keep a watch on the churches and learn how the ritual for finding the hero candidate works. Why not do your own tests, discreetly if possible, and identify the hero before the church does? Contract, kidnap or even "remove" him at your leisure, as close to his 12th birthday as possible to buy maximum time of course. Failing that you can have eyes on when the church does it and immediately swoop in via teleport to do your thing. Depending on what (aside from killing) counts as "stopping" the hero you may even have to only deal with the first one, whether you are contracted partners in peace or he is rotting in a dungeon, never having gotten the training that awakens his potential.

Being an amiable neighbour in the 12 years before they even find the only candidate realistically able to stop you might even help your case for friendship. Just be prepared and ready if they decline.

I considered basically the same line of ideas for a build.go to edea, make deal with gods to be nice and leave when given the chance. Although edea is also a place that wouldn't feel bad using all of the possible debt points, since you only get about 20ish years before you must stop the hero and only need 100 years before you can move your operation elsewhere.

>Edea

Edea seems like the worst option to go to if you plan to make peace with a god. It has four who are all partnered and at peace with one another. You're supplicating yourself to a committee of *four* people more powerful than you who are going to value each other's opinions far more than you and who have no rivals to be concerned about or to be played against except you if they allow you to grow. You dead.

IIRC in the old version Gods actually got a bit of a power boost if their heroes killed you too. I suspect thats probably still canon, and so further makes things difficult.

If you're planning to be a god's ally Scar or Harmonia seem like better bets because the gods have enemies they could use your help with. Gods can only act in set ways; a free agent for hire would be absurdly helpful.

In Scar the situation seems pretty intense, but making friends with the Goddess of Magic and helping fuck over the God of Mage-Killing seems the obvious choice. In the past version her hero was an isekai'd Japanese teen too and so would probably be quite easy for you to befriend (shapeshift tits and join his harem if you want to be *really* sure). Ironically the hero has a surprising amount of pull in the relationship with their god since the power cant be withdrawn once invested, if you can get them on side the god wll probably go along with it.
I'd be very nervous about outliving my usefulness however or relying on a flight teenager for back-up.

CONT

Harmonia is probably the most interesting option though just for how weird it's dynamic would be. The god is fighting an endless battle against another demon, and you'd be infinitely better off joining the demon; everyone knows that so assuming you can prove you're legit (not so hard with contract magic) you should be getting a lot better treatment (and the god is literally the god of duty and fair judgement so you'd hope he'd appreciate you offering to help out at your own expensse).

I'd expect you'd be kept at arms length by any Scar god and just used to support their hero, but the situation on Harmonia is desperate enough they'd need to fully integrate you into the war effort. It's probably the biggest subversion of the CYOA's roles possible.

You'd end up being the demon general of a god, using your armies to support his (the ability to transform people into powerful monsters would be handy for keeping up moral by transforming old or injured soldiers) and you'd probably never really go near your dungeon. You'd be on the front lines because you are bullshit powerful but still respawn or heal faster than the hero does, while his hero would basically be another core guardian and your dungeon would be deep inside the hero's nation or under their capital city to take advantage of whatever harvest method you have and just pumps out whatever units the God thinks are needed.

It does seem to be a decent spot to go with at least 9 debt points to get the maximum potential power you would accumulate during your stay there (the 10th point would be at the same time you could leave). The question would be how much you really needed those points since most of the stuff mentioned you can easily do with the standard budget. Even my own build is not nearly completely optimised for it (no dedicated water minions for one) and I still expect success even if/when I do have to fight.

Speaking of my build, I should maybe post it:
Mutations: Demonic Features, Tail, Wings
Stats: 10 Atk, 12 Spec, 10 ComSpd, 6 MovSpd, 10 Hlth, 6 Tgh, 8 Res
Abilities: Contract Magic, Disguise, Elemental Magic, Illusion Magic, Magic Eye, Scrying, Teleportation, Unique Trait (not decided which one)
DPU: Life (just plant myself next to a decent size desert city, I can still move the core if things go south after 12 years)
Specialty: Demons
Minions: Familiar, Imp; Hellhound, Sword Devil; Elven Druid, Gargoyle, Succubus, Witch; Fallen Angel
Core Guardian: Seraphina
Upgrades: Enhanced Creation and Manipulation, Lesser Demon Core, Practice Arena, Territory Enhancement
Traps: Gas Trap, Summon Trap, Teleporter, Tentacle Trap
Servants: Alraune Apothecary, Demon Scholar, Dwarven Craftsmen
Drawbacks: None
World: Edea, obviously

Off the top of my head, optimisation would include more than Sword Devils and Gargoyles for water assets as well as Danuki Merchants instead of Dwarven Craftsmen for increased espionage and sabotage of enemy logistics.
But I am fully prepared to get chewed out by my Demon Scholar advisors for that while they try to smooth out the edges of my plan.

As I remember it was the heroes that got the boost, but yes. Thing is, Edea has no hero yet and if you play your cards right you can stop him from even thinking about attacking you for the power boost.

When the author confirmed that Anastasia would still set up a meeting he explicitly said she would not do it for the god of Harmonia since that would be betraying her friend there.
He also mentioned that "laying low and being inoffensive isn't a bad strategy for Scar", though I do not have the exact post and as I remember it was without much context. Question is how "laying low and being inoffensive" would work on other worlds. While the overall aggressiveness of the gods against the demons is emphatised, the possibility of some semblance of peaceful waiting on Scar as well as the option for diplomacy existing at all suggests that it might actually be possible to just sit out your term and fuck off with their consent.

>When the author confirmed that Anastasia would still set up a meeting he explicitly said she would not do it for the god of Harmonia since that would be betraying her friend there.
Setting up your own meeting should be doable, though. The rules of the Great Game allow a god to speak to their followers in their churches, and a demon lord showing up and asking for the priests to convey a message should be unusual enough to grab his attention.

In that situation, though, I'd be worried what Anastasia would do. She (apparently) hasn't merged with her core, so she could go to Harmonia herself, and "discuss" family loyalty with (you) in person.

How is Polaris not at least in B tier? Literally just make a base in the depths off the ocean so no one finds you and make your minions/servants psyop everyone into hating themselves, the goddesses are bitchy and and have literal mental health issues, their heroes probably aren't much better either. Eldritch parasites and Dominators (or you with it's ability and high magical power) can help a lot with that.

That assumes they would simply let you waltz into a church unopposed. It is one thing when, in terms of gods vs demons wars, a world is otherwise peaceful (Edea, Polaris, """Maya""") or low-intensity skirmishing (Scar with the free for all). It is a whole other can of worms when the world is actively being invaded on a personal vendetta that already destroyed large portions of it.
Not to mention that as someone valuing duty he would probably be cross with you for neglecting your duty to your "mother" and kin, potentially even breaking a promise of mutual assistance even if it would benefit him.

All in all I would count Tyrus of Harmonia to be the least interested in any diplomacy, similar but different to Ekagi of Maya (who would only be interested for fun ways to screw you over instead of an actual deal).

All it takes is some inquisitor or paladin stumbling upon even a single one of your minions to set off alarms on the whole world. And since you (probably) have to be active to keep them fighting for those 250 years chances are good for it happening. As soon as it does they will immediately peace out and turn the whole world against you.
It is possible, but by no means easy.

What gave you that impression?

>own meeting should be doable
Theoretically maybe. The problem is that you have to turn against your natural allies and deliver yourself on a platter to your natural enemies. Even assuming you're not killed outright and allowed an audience you have no leverage in a negotiation, you've place your fate in their hands. I'm sorry Miss Woodsong, any way you look at it it's just not a good idea.

The way Anastasia talks about her core spawning yours in the opening. Even if it's not a literal, physical merger (fusing body and core), she's still talking about her core in the third person, as a distinct entity. If they'd merged, I'd expect her to describe it in the first person, maybe even using plural pronouns (like Venom from Marvel comics)

Anime settings excel in their world building and ideas. Concept creation. Etc.

Anime does not excel when it comes to characters and executing narratives. Itโ€™s always mismatching, even cringe. Youโ€™ll notice a lot of anime has gorgeous backgrounds but weirdly drawn people.

Just use the parasites? I might be a bit too powergamey, but they need to see your disguised minions, and the parasites are inside their hosts (no direct line of sight) and also not "disguised" (probably), so it shouldn't trigger anything. Just make sure if you're caught parasiting someone, to dispose of the witnesses. Also it specifically says inquisitors detect minions, it doesn't say anything about their detection working with servants or against (You). It does seem much safer than worlds where there is endless fighting or the gods are united, as long as you get stuff like disguise, dominators, merchant and scholar servand for psyops, etc.
