Where do you think I fucked up most? When did it become irredeemable?

Started with Red Lust and Frail, I still think they're the two strongest bodies.
I'm not going to put a man's mind in a woman's body and I avoided Sumire because going in blind means I have no idea how her unique ability will change the items, that leaves Lenka and Naomi as the only options. Naomi could go either way but her EP boost works better for Frail. Lenka into Red Lust means she has the stealth and mobility to sneak into an enemy base along with the physical stats to do some damage once she gets inside.

Grim Chuckle is the only man with EP+SP so I stand by choosing him at the time. When it comes to boons, one of the three that grants Arcane Knowledge seems necessary and I still like the +strategy/+tactics of Discipline. Maybe I should've just given physical abilities up as a lost cause and picked two of the magic boons (or one magic boon and Crooked) but going into this sort of setting with below-average strength feels wrong.

I come back to this CYOA repeatedly, just to daydream about what I'd do with it's powers and trinkets (Exotic Wizard > Glint Dancer > State Striver in my view, though that is more 'what I think is more fun' than anything else).
I used to write a lot, until one day i felt my ability to critique writing overcame my actual writing ability and just sort of stopped. I've got some time off work now (about to go on a hike for the first time in ages actually) and have been thinking about getting back into it with some meaningless fun, doing some isekai self insert nonsense about what I'd do in another world with these powers just out of the hope that getting daydreams out of my head and onto paper will work.

Run into the usual problem though, I can never really think of what world would be most interesting to be isekai'd to with powers. Something original or existing? I'd usually go fantasy, but half the time the world or magic is so unexplained I'd end up filling the gaps myself (*Frieren*). Something Xianxia? Just give up and pick One Piece or fucking Worm?

I'm always curious as to what other people's preferred settings are for their isekai daydreams. I'd not want to be one of those people who rushes around fixing problems with their out of context knowledge: a world where you can find your own adventures sounds more fun.

The setting itself doesn't matter if I can freely choose what I do once incarnated, even if I lean towards fantasy. Lamentations, Outer Reincarnation, Stardust, Witcher, Worm... It's less about how I could fix the setting, and more about what how the lessons taught here might further my personal growth. The moral of the story is important to me.

Each CYOA image is its own setting unless otherwise stated, at least in my eyes, as such any choices or powers are relative to that implied or overt setting. CYOAs with tons of magic choices but no high tech choices are always fantasy or medieval, where as those with a mix may be eclectic. I dislike CYOAs that have no setting at all or find some too difficult to parse if it's too vague, like that Otherwise one you posted. I can enjoy the writing or image choices but if it's too abstract without clear powers or challenges and just vague platitudes I mentally check out.

There's lots of settings I *like* but yeah it's definitely choice paralysis and nitpicking that gets me. Example, Breath Of The Wild is somewhere I considered, that game can be incredibly haunting when it can get out of it's own way and just vibe. Fantasy Post-apocalypse is rare, walking through battlefields littered with the remains of medieval soldiers who died fighting fucking schizotech robots is raw as fuck.
But ultimately there's no real opposition except the big bad and no one else has magic so I'd feel out of place and theres the fifty billion glowing techno shrines standing out like a dick in the breeze too.

Worm is one I considered for how common Worm SIs are, but worm is ultimately built around the golden man and endbringers and the climax of the story in dealing with them, which pretty much requires you to match them to save the entire multiverse which is a bit much. I'm having issues regarding my power system. You see I want my CYOA to feature multiple transformed human races like demons and half-angels and such. "Yourself" is so versatile. It feels like something that a clever person could get a lot of milage out of. Need to broker a deal? Twenty five years of negotiation skill. Someone get hurt? I'm a veteran doctor now. If I could find a way to access magic too then bingo. I don't know if I prefer it, because I hate to think I'm not actually working to learn something. But maybe I take 20 years educator, 30 years magic, and write myself a course. Then once I forget the knowledge, I shift to 50 years of 'learning how to learn', and manually teach myself quick.

Otherworlder too could be great if you find the right person, though it would be sad to leave them behind. Kind of a lonely existence, to jump from person to person, collecting artifacts and knowledge. Maybe if I can get there one day I can go visit friends.

Fool, fittingly, is a strong start to a journey of power, but the element of surprise involved in growth is concerning. Xibalba is just lame, a worse version of Otherworlder. Yoggdrasil too it's like ... that's just portals magic man. It's cool but not very fanciful. Same with Avalon.

Source code offers good opportunities for learning and growth, but without something like Otherworlder how are you going to get magic?

Yin Yang is a bit too complicated and limited. Library of Babel you would think could teach you magic but no just the future, and I find that boring.

There's a choice of Motivation, Boons, positive traits and skills, including an obligatory isekai option, and Banes, negative drawbacks, personal problems or obligations that effect the war effort. I remember how Rise of the Dark Lord did its world conquest segment and want to avoid something similarly easy. There are no win-buttons, just some opportunities you could exploit if you're cunning, reckless, or happen to have an ideal skillset. Your enemies are strong, disciplined, well-supplied, and well-motivated. Defeating them will be an ordeal. Not to mention, the different regions will be reinforcing each other, which will take some tactics to deal with. For instance, the forested East has elite skirmishers and trickster faeries, but could receive a detachment of heavy infantry from their friends up North.

To add, I'm pretty sure the only event mentioning light magic is Crimson Tide, Scenario 3, which says that you can learn it in year 2. This event is very awkward because it sacrifices the opportunity for the player who picked Isatum to gain a Lesser Spark from Djinn, which makes it impossible for them to learn spells after succeeding in the Ascension event even though they will become a Proven Disciple because they would still have no Spark.

I think this is probably the most powerful swordfighter you could make with this cyoa. The Striga mutation gives me 5x the reaction speeds of a normal person, the Griffin mutation lets me slow time down by a factor of 10, and the Rock Troll mutation lets me think at 5x the speed of a normal person. The invisibility and intangibility and other powers are really just bonuses, and all I receive as a penalty is a weakness to salt and two metals. I imagine my character as a bodyguard/monster-hunter for hire. I wouldn't advertise my powers, and I'd move around every few years before people realize that I'm not even remotely human.
