What god would a chaos arbites be most susceptible to falling towards? I want to do a Judge Death inspired kitbash
>>96008823 (OP)>Thread Question:What faction needs their model range expanded the most?
Imperial Army.
Vostroyans, Steel Legion, Valhala, Talarn, elysiansNormal Imperial Guard (no we got only cadians not Imperial Guard) , Mordians, Pretorians are missing.
Normal Imperial guard simply for two facts as you can make PDF regiments out of them and traitor guard.
After space marine's the imperial guard is the mots iconic and would also give a lot of room for diversity and show this.
Iron within brothers, I love my new camera
>>96009258you have got 4 dudes, make one for each chaos god
or rather make 4 for the 4 chaos gods but all 4 are technically undivided and upholding balance in the pantheon
>>96009268Beautiful claw arm anon!
Beautiful grimdark paintjob.
Think I'm getting close to finishing with base coats and the fabrics. Still lots to do on the metals, and lots of small details. Open to any suggestions on places that need more details picked out in other colors, I've been looking at it too long.
>>96009268Looks really nice, anon! Love the vivid optics.
Are jets packs a big thing in the setting?
>>96009525Usually they're called Jump Packs, but yeah, they're around.
is it good to play a melee heavy army outside of blood angels or templars? on paper it feels like you miss out on a lot of buffs
Painted the claws, the teeth, the tongue, corrected some mistakes and did highlighing on the faces. Kinda looks like shit, I wish I could paint. Forgot to paint the nails on one hand fug
>>96009580It looks nice, anon, you can clearly paint. Nice color scheme too.
>>96009519Fuck that's great. Obviously the base model is Cawl but I can't identify everything. I see Dominus parts, Kataphron armor plates, Ballistarii guns... is that a Penintent engine AND a paragon warsuit torso shoved inside of each other? Where did the larger clawed hands come from? Just Terminator lightning claws?
Anyways I got a start on my metamorph kitbash for the July project collage, before I go out of town for a week and won't be able to work on them. I don't think these guys will have much different a palette formula than Neophytes though so I'm fairly confident in cranking them out fast when I get back.
I need some ideas on doing the claws for this guy.
I'm touching him up right now and doing all the other little details so this is an old picture - any suggestions on what color to go for the claws?
>>96009596>Is that a penitent engine torso and a paragon torso shoved inside each other Correct! I wanted to take the "tech priests with multiple sets of arms" (the dominus and manipulus designs both do this) up another notch, and I found that the two combined made for a cool segmented look. I used the other PE for a gift kitbash for a friend's sisters, and I'm giving him the extra warsuits too. The big hands and pauldrons are from cataphracti termies. No dominus parts, actually, its a manipulus head and Cawl's arms, with the hand that holds the axe replaced with a ruststalker claw.
The big arm with the lascannons was probably overkill, but it made me smile when I added it. It's on magnets to make my life easier
Nice choice to use delaque as metamorphs. Acolyte kit has so many spare parts, it feels like you can get 2-3x the models if you're smart with the bits.
>>96009679I think the lascannon is fine, though now that I see it from that angle, the fact that the spotlights are turned upside down bugs me a little. Great work anyways, though. Impressive how neatly a kitbash based on the codex cover came together, I would have expected it to need a lot more heavy lifting to get the vibe right.
>>96009258mortis always made me laugh

>>96009751Sisters of battle but worse are not an army and never will be
I feel like a lot of generic character models cost too much for what they are.
>>96009788Leaders in general are costed based on the best thing they can lead, which makes them way overcosted for any other purpose.
>>96009787>are not an army???

>guy actually disappointed his friend didn't pick space marines like him
How was your last game 40kg? I got blown the fuck out by Eldar. 3 wave serpeants with fire dragons and reapers rained on my parade.
>>96009664I'll give red a try, I have a nice metallic red that I think will work well.
>>96009948Was a whole month ago now, WE vs Custodes. I won pretty handily after my opponent deployed poorly and I got a t1 charge in.
>>96009982More like nurgel versus custodes
>>96009910Behemoth is the brute force hive fleet.
Typhon sounds more interesting since it's the only recorded case of Tyranid cannibalism. It might be a rogue hive fleet.
>>96009988>it's the only recorded case of Tyranid cannibalismAm I misremembering or doesn't Kronos do that too?
>>96009997Not Kronos, Hydra's shtick was cannibalism.
>>96009997Sort of. Kronos has been observed consuming other fleets, but not by chasing them down, those fleets approach the area of space where Kronos is growing their planet-sized superstructure and allow themselves to be eaten.
>>96010041No. Leviathan leaves behind pre-digested worlds for Kronos to devour since it cannot consume its preferred prey (Chaos Daemons).
>>96008954I don't know about "most evil," but man, I hate how his overall character has been dragged through the mud over the years.
15-ish years ago the Emperor was basically a Paul Atredies type character. A guy who did evil things and allowed evil things to happen in order to (supposedly) prepare humanity for a happier fate far off in the future. It's never outright stated that that is how he was, but being forced to play 4D chess with literal gods and being able to see the future would at least somewhat justify and make sense of his actions.
Over the last few years though, writers just turned him into a petty idiot. He needlessly antagonizes his demi-god sons, gets all his best ideas from someone else, and then when Guilliman yells at him in whatever book it was (after Guilliman has woken up after 10,000 years) about why the Emperor even bothers continuing to serve humanity even while he has clear contempt for them, the Emp's response is literally:
"Lol, I dunno. Only in death does duty end so I guess I'm not dead even though I hate everyone I guess I'll keep staying alive and pushing humanity on. Lol."
>>96010105We have been over this.
Roboute ponders the Emperor's motivations and comes to a realization that the Emperor loves the idea of mankind, not men as individuals. He does not love men. He loves mankind. If countless men (and women) suffer and die so that mankind might endure then so be it.
>>96010124That's stupid, though. Why would you like the whole of mankind without liking any of the people? I mean, the people *are what makes up* mankind.
That's like enjoying a salad even though you hate lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and ranch dressing. It makes no sense.
>>96010146Glassy eyed npc post
>>96010124Does this technically mean that emperor is big picture incarnate to a fault?
Where the heck are Chaplains, Apothecaryโs, and Librarians supposed to fit into the Chapterโs numbers? I figure theyโre like Veterans where theyโre attached to any Company/strike force that could use them at the moment, but Vets have their own company where their numbers are drawn, while the specialist Marines seem to be side organizations.
>>96010162Okay, but it's true though.
They should have just simply never written any books about him at all and let him remain mysterious, but oh well. As with all 40k cannon you just have to pick and choose what you like.
>>96010166Duh.
Master of Mankind and the later HH books and then the Siege of Terra books hammer in that idea.
>>96010176I like all existing lore about my favorite faction. I just wish there was more of it.
>>96010207Sorry I thought that the books made him. A retard.
>>96010172Technically theyโre outside the normal chain of command. Theoretically thereโs probably anywhere form 60-120 spare mariens in your average chapter that arenโt battle brothers. They still do what lieutenants and sergeants tell them, but have broad leeway in serving their purpose. Bearing in mind that there are large human support staffs for these departments as well, which means their numbers might be lower than I estimated as a result. I wonder if anyone has ever portrayed a human apothecary equivalent in chapters that donโt have the expertise available.
>>96010146When youโve been alive as long as the Emperor has been I imagine your sense of time and scale will become warped to an absurd degree. It would explain why he was dismissive of things like Angronโs rage, sure youโre mad about it now, but how about 10000 years? His ability to personal connections to humanity will have atrophied over time, all he has left is the idea of mankind.
>>96010233Oll Pius, who is the Emperor's Senpai Perpetual, never lost connection to his humanity.
Their interaction and conversation make the Emperor come off as a heartless prick unable to form genuine relationships with people.
His speech to Oll that he can create as many families as he wishes, since they were immortals, shows how much out of touch the Emperor was.
I think the murder of his father by his uncle stunted him mentally and emotionally.
Is there a guard and sisters of battle version for the legion of the damned?
>>96010275Yes. Ghosts of the Imperial slain rose up to fight against heretics in "Psychic Awakening: Faith and Fury".
>>96010215So it would 1000 Battle Brothers+the specialists? Would make sense with how Scouts/Neophytes donโt neccesarily have to adhere to the numbers restrictions (plus the Scout Company getting the Phobos units shoved into it beyond that) It does feel like the 1000 Space Marine limit of Chapters feel like more of a suggestion even amongst compliant chapters.
>>96010290Thanks! Now what colors are best for undead vampiric skin from pale to dark?
Can blackstone be made into anti-daemon weapons like swords and bullet?
>>96010330What and act like sea stone from one piece?
>>96010307The 1000-man limit was lifted as soon as Bobby woke up and wrote his revision of the Codex taking into account the primaris they found in Cawl's closet and the faggy primaris aspect warrior squads.
Also, in the support marines numbers would also be tech marines and all the drivers and crew of their tanks and transports. To say nothing of flight crews for air support and Thunderbirds.
>>96009948got pumped by eldar. still not used to how they work, but when they hit half of my shit dies
>>96009982do you enjoy the WE detachment that allows you to take daemons? i played against it a few weeks ago and found it interesting
>>96009948Won a FFA 4 player boarding action with my donut steel marines by the skin of my teeth almost entirely on kills today
How the fuck are space marine chapters even organized now that they've become aspect warriors?
>>96010450I don't think GW has bothered to think of that despite having, what, 8 years since 8th dropped? And at least a couple years before that since editions take at least a couple years of work before they're released.
10th clearly didn't. but that's a mess for a different conversation.
>>96010450They basically have them completely divorced from the tabletop. Marine loadouts are wildly variable among squad members, same with armour configuration. Tac squads are still the standard, theyโre just primaris now a lot of the time.
>>96009948Played Chaos Knights for the first time on Wednesday and played two games against Custodes. Game 1 I overextended, and my opponent rolled hot, got my ass beat. Game 2 was much closer. The game came down to fighting a terminator captain on my home objective, and once he went down, my 2 remaining brigands basically couldn't lose to the single squad of wardens 24 inches away.
>>96009948Mine was on TTS, getting some practice with my CSM while I'm painting them.
Trying out Creations of Bile and I rolled +1 Attack and +1 WS.
I really like Warp Talons (posted my first in this thread already) so my test list has 20 of them.
My friend, playing Necrons, was not too fond of that many attacks constantly happening.
>>96010431Dunno I was the one playing Custodes
>>96010559Didn't they have a bit of lore about them specializing in a certain weapon and training endlessly to perfect it?
Which is the exact same sort of obsession that doomed the Emperor's Children back in the Heresy...
>>96009268what exactly did you use for the backdrop? I've been having trouble finding a good material
>>96010450They to have generally the same structure with ten companies, but it seems like the numbers are much more superfluous now. Gulliman seems to regret somewhat, just how restrictive he was with the Codex when looking at the novels, and has the Ultramarines openly working with their successor chapters now.
>>96010576Did you let them borrow your prince?
>>96009948Won a 4 way FFA with Eldar, was ganged up on in the first turn but kept just enough pieces each time to deny VPs and steal kills. Swooping hawks with Baharroth were the star by a mile, killing a Mutalith, Russ and Monolith and spending the last turn finishing off a Baneblade.
In a regular game they would have died on the trade, but because of their redeploy wording only the Necron player had a window to retaliate before I scooped them back into reserve. The irony was that he brought hypercrypt and proposed this interpretation himself.
>>96010576oh right was your opponent borrowing your minis, or did you actually manage to have a game against another /40kg/ shitposter?
>>96010559The Codex makes it out that they organize along the squads seen in the data sheets when they deploy. Although I presume this is for Chapters that have adopted the Primaris Upgrades fully. I believe the only official rules where you can run Primaris like the old Tactical Squads are in the Deathwatch Index Kill Teams.
>>96010105>Paul AtrediesMore like Leto II. Only when Leto treats humanity like shit it's explicitly done to condition them to hate tyrants and the very idea of everybody blindly following one guy. Big E's plan is the opposite, but with the same goal: save humanity. Problem is that one of these characters was written by a single, competent author and the other has been written by multiple people of dubious talent.
>>96009988Thatโs interesting but any time a hive fleet meets they eat another, winner is the better designed strain.
Anyway Iโm working on a squad of zoanthropes today.
>>96010766To say nothing of the biggest book on his backstory and life being written by a hack faggot who is a fanboy for the other side...
>>96010233Yeah, but he's also supposed to be a highly intelligent and charismatic leader. So there is really no excuse for fumbling his relationships with the 20 guys his master plan depends on.
>>96010725He needed a second foot prince for the list he was testing so I let him borrow mine. I play daemons and custodes.
>>96008823 (OP)>TQLess range expansion and more range refresh - Catachans
Are Eldar still using the same Guardian sprues from 4th edition?
>>96010851>Are Eldar still using the same Guardian sprues from 4th editionno
>>96010870Huh, hard to tell.
>>96010829That is the problem with horus heresy novels. An author can't write a character that is more intelligent than him based on his actions. They will tell incessantly that he is the smartest, the cunniest, etc. But then he never acts like than.
That is why the horus heresy novels are a mistake because is not only one intelligent characters, it is 19 primarchs + emperor + extras. Is not doable by people whose ends of surival is writing pulp books.

Probably gonna do some MANz for the collage this month. They're not heavy support, right?
I got pic rel (voume 1, the left side) and I'm kind of not sure what to do with it. It comes with a red speedpaint and Vince V says they work for glazing. I'm trying to move away from washing and just using them at the end as kind of a lazy glaze to tie all my layering together.
I'm assuming you're not supposed to use them out the box and they want you to mix them right? The dark green looks good for a shadow color on orks but the rest seems to be either shadow or highlights and no midtones. I see a lot of reviews on youtube but rarely anyone putting it into heavy practice. Just kind of talking about the quality of each paint.
>>96009156Love the colors
>>96011117think they were listed as elite in the 3rd edition codex at least. they are just nobz with better armour and nobz are elite so its fine
>>96011135It appears that they do expect you to mix your shadows and highlight colours. There's also some paints designed for doing special effects, like rust. Looks like a solid paint set. It's supposed to restrict you to the Zorn palette, so you can make your stuff look like a John Blanche artwork.
i love green
green is the best colour
>>96011448Do you have an army that is painted green
Is the Emperors children detachment cracked for 5+ criticals?
>>96010450It's all a mess because nothing about primaris was written with care or purpose. Up to the greats squattening of 10th, all the fluff entries for firstborn and primaris units were written as if the other half never existed, often contradicting each other.
>>96011476Do you own any?
Bit of a quiet day here innit? Don't mind it all desu
>>96010681it's the little photobooth from greenstuffworld, but knowing them it should be the same as the generic ones from aliexpress. They have two led strips but i recommend leaving the one in the back off, makes the background nicer for darker pictures.
With my phone it's not as nice though, the "real" camera does a great job of highlighting the model
>>96011537I bought these three right before they announced the new ones and I have another two old ones from when I played 7th that I'm repainting too. If they give them dedicated transport or somehow allow a full drop pod army I'll get more but for now I can't really use any more.
>>96011577Neat have fun painting them

>>96011117>Probably gonna do some MANz for the collage this monthsame, though I might flip to Tankbustas or Burnas
>>96011583Thanks! Unfortunately one of the deathstorms was already assembled and assembled like shit if I may add (I had to rip out the badly glued seats to fit the missiles) so the doors don't really close. Looks like it was superglued so I might be able to pull it apart and fix it.
Dark Eldar refresh is coming. I can feel it.
these sisters of battle are way too small for such big bases. horrible mould line placement onthe sprues as well.
What if there was a hive fleet whose hivemind tricks psykers with fake distress signals to lure in more and more ships it consumes and puppets around to create the illusion of a battlefleet in need of reinforcements
>>96011627Maybe it's a skill issue but I'm pretty fucking done with assembling basic infantry that come in 9 components per model.
>>96011640Sounds more like a GSC thing, but neat idea.
Who are the Iron Hands of the Imperial Guard?
>>960116419 isn't really a crazy amount. It's just that new model sprues are cut up and laid out retardedly on purpose.
>>96011640Not efficient enought, would not give a lot of food. It would be more some smallscale thing.
>>96011627There's a special place in hell for whoever decided that sisters should all have split shoulder pads instead of them being a single piece you just put on.
>>96011448>i love green>green is the best colourI love green and agree, but I can't seem to find the proper opportunity to utilize green. Yet.
>>96011655Dunno about others but the 30k tactical squad sprues are so well designed. You basically don't need instructions.
>>96011655>It's just that new model sprues are cut up and laid out retardedly on purpose.I think GW does that on purpose to hinder kitbashing attempts.
Sure Kitbashing can be difficult if you want it to be, but GW seems to be doing everything it can to make it more difficult than it should be with the way that the model files are cut up to be put on sprues.
>>96011640could see it as a splinter fleet gimmick
>>96011679>but the 30k tactical squad sprues are so well designedI know the beakie ones have a few retarded decisions like one of the shoulders being split in two

๐
>>96011691That's honestly a pure techincal limitation. If they aren't split the studs would look deformed like this.
>>96011685It's a mix of things. Every kit has a "sprue budget" where X HAS to fit on exactly 2 frames or exactly 3 frames. It doesn't matter than one extra frame would be pennies per kit, those pennies must be pinched. But also they have deliberately cut up models retardedly to kill bits sales and make "spare bits" more individually useless.
>>96011685Why would GW try to hinder the practice that forces you to buy multiple kits for a single unit instead of just one?
>>96011708They're just evil.
>>96011710If their evil comes from greed why would they do something evil that costs them sales?
>>96011718Big companies like GW can often make mistakes in the pursuit of fulfilling it's greed.
>>96011708What they don't want you to be able to do is throw together extra bits from kits you bought and get """free""" models out of it.
>>96011708because that practice doesn't really exist, third party bits would replace it
>>96011725You could never do that because they never put extra bodies on the sprues.
>>96011729Third party bits can be designed to fit whatever sculpt GW makes. Bit sellers still need to buy a box from GW which is an extra sell that wouldn't happen otherwise. No kitbashing means they lose money.
>>96011733bit sellers don't sell it there's no option that the kit doesn't provide immediately
no units you have to kitbash? no bits sellers
no rules for weapons that aren't in the kit? no bits sellers
Are missile pod crisis suits just discount missile broadsides or is there anything more to them?
>>96011746Bit sellers still require a proper GW kit to use those bits on. They aren't losing sales because of them.
>>96009588Thanks anon, I'll continue today.
>>96009596Looking sweet, I'll get 4 more acolyte sprues today to have 10 of each variant but like
>>96009679 said it comes with lots of additional bit. Is it easy to kitbash with delaque or other games like Wargames Atlantic where you can get 24 models for 35 bucks only? I may try to run Xenocreed since that detachment loves Acolytes.
>>96011758deepstrike, double movement, more bodies, fly, different stratagems (sometimes)
How many points of painted models do you have?
I just did a rough count and I'm at 3000 for Orks and a little under 2000 for Dark Eldar
>>96011476>I FUCKING LOVE DROP PODSDrop Pod rules fucking when!?!
REEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>96011804>Define bitsLet's assume a GW kit comes with the following:
>5 bodies>5backpacks>10 heads>6x left/right arm with melee+pistol>6x arms with bolters>1x of each Flamer/Plasma/MeltaNow if someone would sell flamers and plasma guns to equip all 5 with special weapons, then that's okay?
What if someone makes bodies and backpacks so you can use up all of the GW arm pairs? Also okay?
What if someone would then buy the bodies, and all the other bits from a bits seller, to make a complete miniature? Is he still just buying bits?
GW hates 3rd party, no matter what it is. Because in an ideal world for GW, anyone who wants a squad with 5 plasmaguns would buy 5 GW boxes with 1 plasmagun each.
>>96011899What kind of rules do you want to see?

>>96012296I don't know i got it from a random store, N35 I thing not the strongest N42 ones. I have some N42 as well and they're significantly stronger. N35 works fine on 25mm bases as they're shallow and the magnet contacts the metal base for a strong grip but larger 32mm bases are slightly taller so there's some gap and N42 might be better for those.
>>96011805There's a fair amount of chop work needed to make the arms work because of the shoulder pads on the bodies, and in my case I went further and separated every paired arms so that I would have more freedom in posing them. But the arms are all you really need to worry about, and you don't need to go as far as I did and replace the gun arms for most of them. Even head swaps are simple, so long as you don't attach the neck portion the delaque bodies come with, neophyte heads fit almost perfectly - you may just need to shave a little bit off the bottom of the neck ball joint to get them to sit completely in the collar.
You'll also need to grab some 32mm bases if you intend to be honest about the correct size for metamorphs, the delaque box comes with molded 25mm.
>>96012249That's because you're only seeing the blip tokens.

>>96012366> Each pack of 3rd party "not space marine" heads or shoulder pads is one less sold upgrade sprue or FW pack of shoulder pads or headsThat is a fallacy. It comes from the assumptions that the guy buying the third party heads would buy the overpriced FW stuff on the first place.

>>96013446Legions were 100,000+ marines during the crusade.
After the Heresy, Guilliman wrote his book to break the legions into 1000-marine Chapters so no one person would have that much power.
When Guilliman woke up, he revised the Codex to allow more dudes.
In Russ' case, he would still be the leader of the Space Wolves, if he was around. He took off into the warp and every leader of the Space Wolves since has had the title Great Wolf and High King of Fenris, but would still defer to Russ, the Wolf King, should he ever return.
And until Primaris, Space Wolves couldn't have successors because all attempts to do so would mutate out of control into wulfen.

He could literally see the future, he knew exactly what would happen and he did it anyway.
As for the Emperor, he canonically does want to save humanity but the Emperor doesn't care about the happiness of individual humans at all, just the continuity of humanity as a whole.
He's also human himself and as a result flawed, he makes mistakes and his future sight is not perfect. He gambled humanities fate on the great crusade and he lost. now he's just stalling for time and hoping his remaining loyal children can pull something off.
>>96013519>Paul was an extremely selfish bastard, dude knowingly condemned billions to death just to get revenge on his fathers murderers.and still didn't have the balls to actually commit to the golden path like Leto II did

The Emperor was more competenet than Paul and he arguably didn't have prescience like Paul did. Althogh the Emperor still seems to be some sort of hivemind
>>96013519>he knew exactly what would happen and he did it anyway. No, he saw what could happen and no matter how he tried to avoid it the events would unfurl to result in jihad.
>>96013650if you make the ground muddy enough, marines would be completely unable to advance
I like to think the Tyranids and maybe also necrons are invisible to the Emperor sight, in the same Navigators were invisible to Paul. Since in Dune someone with complete prescience can't see the life of someone else with priscience even if it is far weaker. Perhaps the Gold Path of the Emperor would have worked, humanity could have foguth off chaos and the other xenos threats. But he didn't account for the souless necrons and tyranids (in the sense they are hivemind and lack individuals and are souless per-se not literally).
Also I realised that Leto joined with a worm as his 'inhumane' transformation to led humanity. While the Emperor had to join with arcane DAOT tech and is equally an abomiantion, the loneliest person in excistence and trapped in his new form of corpse and metal.
>>96013658If you make the ground muddy enough nobody would be able to do shit
>>96013595every single path he observed ended in Jihad.
But every path he observed was a path where he lived, where his mother lived, and where the harkonnens ate shit and died.
Any path where he killed himself in the desert would obviously be a path where Jihad never happened but that would mean letting the Emperor and the Harkonnens win.
He wasn't trying to avoid the Jihad at all cost, he was trying to have his cake and eat it too.
we know this is true because Paul was supposed to be worm boy but he forsook that destiny successfully and his son ended up needing to do it instead, He had agency and he chose genocide for vengeance.

>>96012908Finishing lad #5 of the CSM kill team so I can start my terminators for the July collage
>>96013806Detachment?
Post pics
>>96013821Almost halfway done but yeah, those rifles are what kill me the most. Gonna also be painting some Kastelans after who aren't as excruciatingly detailed as a breath of fresh air.
>>96013519>Paul was an extremely selfish bastard, dude knowingly condemned billions to death just to get revenge on his fathers murderers.you literally misunderstood his entire character and completely ignore the second book
>He could literally see the future, he knew exactly what would happen and he did it anyway.again you misunderstand the entire concept of how spice precognition works and how paul is deeply conflicted with his visions
either you're bait posting or you haven't read the books and just talk out of your ass
Just have to finish my hospitaller and some cherubs today, i have some sacresants arriving tuesday for the collage.
>tfw this time last year I had zero points painted
>now have close to 2k painted
Was only recently that I started to ramp up painting shit, once I started having games fairly often I forced myself to paint more shit as I can't stand seeing greytide / primed minis on the table
>>96013877In front is the one Warp Talon I've been working on when it's been slow at work. Someone here gave me the idea to do red claws so I'm working on that for him today, then I need to do the teeth around his jump pack and do a little clean up.
I'm planning to play Creations of Bile.
You'll notice that the non-HQs wear chains on their pauldron. The fluff I have for my warband is that they're all thralls to a daemon called the Oracle, which is bound to a ship called the Gilded Cage. High ranking members of the warband are allowed to remove their Chains of Servitude.
>>96013899>again you misunderstand the entire concept of how spice precognition works and how paul is deeply conflicted with his visionsNTA and I haven't read Messiah, but can you elaborate on this?
>>96013936Nice. I'm also about to start a creations of bile army
Very dead thread today. I guess the americans are busy celebrating instead of being here.
>>96014218FUCKING NORMIES REEEEEEEE
New reveals on the 18th
Death Watch and Harlequins Kill Team box
Lots of stuff for Marines
Mutalith or Defiler for my TSons? Just for general usage to slot into a list
>>96014218I dunno we had a fair few people post the minis they are working on, I'm guessing a large % of them are burgers
>>96014337I found mutaliths to be a fucking pain to play against. 3 different range profiles and a shitload of attacks in melee
>>96013797>NovokhA Necron blood priest could be quite something.
>>96014337dont punish yourself with a defiler and im pretty sure that even the vehicle meme list uses at least 1 mutalith
Talking about defilers, I'm guessing if you made several charges that turn against someone running one, you would have to pick the unit that charged it to fight first otherwise it gets a counter offensive strat for free
>>96014348By that logic then Obliterators are good too.
>>96012908Brain is scrambled from having a newborn but working on my Saint Potentia in like 15-20 minute sessions for a Crusade at the end of the summer
>>96014442I don't play chaos so I wouldn't know, but it saying that they are one of my favourite units, although it looks like gw have done a fantastic job butchering them since 3rd / 4th. Remember when they could use any weapon from the armoury or whatever the fuck it was called? Shit sculpts but, I'm yet to see a decent one
>>96014444>Brain is scrambled from having a newbornPrion diseases are no joke
Dark Angels players: how necessary are Deathwing Knights? It seems like everyone runs 2-3 squads, and 20-40% of your list for that much is a huge commitment that I don't see other space marine lists doing
>>96012982>>96013004>>96013094>>96012253The issue isn't size in terms of width, it's thickness. You want the magnet as close as possible to flush with the base rim. The magnet should either be touching or nearly touching the surface you are magnetizing the models to. I buy from magnet baron, because their thicknesses are specifically chosen to fit GW bases and have never failed me, but you can just use their measurements and buy elsewhere.
>>96014540Dark angels players: are dark angels cool as fuck or gay as fuck? Is there any reason to pick them over black templars considering theyโre both knight themed?
>>96014559dark angels are knights specialists, black templars are knights horde
>>96014337Mutaliths are completely broken
>>96014540They are just fucking annoying to deal with. -1 to damage, 4 wounds, fairly strong in melee and that shitty 4+ fnp against mortals which negates grenades / tank shock. No idea what a character can add to the squad but I'd imagine it's more bullshit
>>96014559I don't really feel strongly about space marines but I think it's silly to say they have the same theme. Black templars are crusader themed (cringe), not knight themed (based).
>>96014559I think this general has established that blood angels are the gayest chapter
>>96014392A flayer themed wave would be cool, even just a bloodpriest cryptek and a flayer lord with a cloak of flesh alongside a detachment that makes flayers Line would be great for supporting it as a more full army theme.
What's a hard counter against deldar?
>>96014569Huh okay thatโs a pretty clear and easy to understand difference, though idk if BT are horde like enough for that
>>96014578Crusaders are knights, dummy. Nah I get what you mean but they are both similar in theme, I just said theyโre the same for simplicityโs sake
>>96014587Hmm okay. Who would be the next gayest?
>>96014605Probably dark angels
>>96014608Well Mr strategist tell me how you would play against them with your army, whatever that army may be
>>96014625Drop Inceptors into their Scourges then run them over with tanks
>>96014559Dangels are cool knights with armour themed around Gothic architecture.
Black templars are cool knights themed around crusaders. I'd say it's best to pick the one you like aesthetically so you're more excited to paint
Fun fact: Commander Dante's first name is Lois. Like Lois Griffin. Commander Lois.
>>96014594Have you considered 2000pts of dreadnoughts
>>96014655Compelling, thank you anon. Dark green is a nice color now that I think about it
>>96014375Recently picked up a Solitaire and Voidweaver, gonna try to figure out a scheme now that won't make me want to kms
>>96014575while I understand that, it doesn't seem to be doing DA lists any help, they're at like a 38% winrate
>>96014667Who the fuck names their family "Dante"?
>>96013699To be fair, Leto II didn't have ravenous daemon gods plotting against him to undo his plans for humanity. Or fucking Erebus.
>>96012908Just finished my librarian and now I need to go back to my Assault Ints and finish them off from last year. After that comes either my BA jump Chaplain or Sternguard squad. Fuck I also have a good old DC boxnought to paint too...
>>96014594Indirect fucking shatters them. Autocannons also eat their vehicles and infantry alike.
They also just have no good tools for dealing with monstrous units.
So basically Mortarion and three PBCs will be an impossible wall for them
