>illiterate 16 y/o farmer casually kills a 40 y/o grandmaster knight with dozens of battles' worth of experience from 75 yards away

Would an old ass musket round from that distance lose enough kinetic energy for the knight's shield to absorb it?

Guns killed heroism, chivalry and honorable warfare...and that's unironically a good thing.

This is why wizards win. Physics doesn’t fuck around. If you give someone the ability (never mind the implication of such an occurrence / justifying how such force could ever exit a human body like that) to shoot the equivalent of shotgun shrapnel from their finger/ you’ve made a fucking monster. That’s assuming it even comes from them—spontaneous combustion is a lot more terrifying than a plain fireball.

Yeah. Know what’s even scarier? Cursing or killing someone from the safety of your basement. Or summoning some fucking unstoppable demon that lives in higher dimensions and is thus untargetable.

Shut up you bitch. All magic has to be perfectly balanced. Lightning moves slower than real lightning and fireballs don’t actually work like grenades, okay??

Did this actually happen the last time you played a tabletop game? Please tell us more about your game! What system? How many sessions? Can you show your character sheet?! Would love to hear more.

Guns removed the necessity of swords. Drones will remove the necessity of guns. The future of warfare is some fat fuck in a chair masturbating behind a screen and directing kill-bots to take out innocent sand people, a thousand fucking miles away.

Yes, in this vaguely 15th century esque campaign I just pull a 18th century musket off my ass.

Good. Maybe if we make war gay and retarded enough, people will stop glorifying it and we'll stop fighting wars altogether.

Agreed, but retards who want wars could hide the gay-retardism of it with propaganda about "great heroes" and "honor and glory". Now the warmongers are losing their ability to do that because there's no way to spin drones as honorable or heroic.

An old ass musket round packed roughly the energy of a 7.62 NATO round and was good to about 200-300 meters.

The early days of Ukraine were filled with gay little propaganda pieces, remember the Ghost of Kiev? But now it’s a fair few years later and everyone gets to see the face of war; poor fucks screaming for death while some ugly bastard maims them with shitty little bombs that go “poof” instead of “boom.” And this is a glamorous conventional war! Armies against armies, as romantic as they get!

War is dead, I’m just sad that a lot of innocent people had to die to make that happen.

It also makes the muscle fags (soldiers) feel worthless because they’re no longer necessary. Why deploy men when you can deploy droids? Or hackers? Or news manipulators?

Next gen warfare is about avoiding the kinetic aspect of warfare by manipulating the psyche and the masses. Preventing wars before they happen. The invisible war. Cunning over fighting. It’s the superior form of fighting.

>War is dead

I hope so. I'm American, and it would be nice to have an extra trillion dollars every year to spend on improving the nation rather than wasting it on maintaining the giant meme that is our military.

They’ll send it all to Israel, who seems to relish the kinetic aspect of slaughtering people.
