In theory they got deleted from records so nn of them can go to the imperiums side, just become chaos or renegades. But it is hinted that one of them had a big flaw in the geneseed so it is unliekly that he would be loyal anyways and the other got "betrayed" so really unlikely any of them would want to be part of the imperium.

My headcanon is that one of the missing primarch was possed and turned into a meat puppet during the Rangdan xenocides, Russ or whoever else killed him. The whole thing was covered up to preserve morale and stamp out the idea that the primachs were anything other than infallible heroes.

no, gloss varnish provides the most durability in general, that's why even pros like vince venturella do a coat of gloss before he does his matte mix
and for enamel/oil shading it's ideal for the reasons already mentioned, you CAN use oils and enamels over matte/satin but you'll get different effects, since the texture of those finishes will make the oils and enamels grab on and stain differently, cult of paints uses this deliberately when doing things like oil dot filtering where he wants to tint surfaces for instance

Back in the old days, when a Guard commander ordered a billion guardsmen to charge the mile high walls of a fortress city so that he could drive tanks over their dead bodies into the city before the titan reinforcements arrived and took all the glory for themselves, it was portrayed as a dumbfuck and horrifically evil move. Nowadays, we'd get the same scenario, but the Guard commander would be doing it because the rebels have a device that's going to open up another eye of terror or something, and he has no artillery or sappers on hand to take down the walls.

I grabbed two ridregunners, 4 acolytes, 3 neophytes and an Iconward for 40% of their MSRP. All on sprue, except I need about 50 bases. The guy then bought Space Wolves army box, I hope its fate won't be as his Genestealer Cultists.

Unfortunately Custodes pretty much need to pay the forge world tax to play at all but the most casual of tables. The tanks have been the glue holding the army together this edition and any list really suffers without them. Print or find a recaster for them, they are that good.
Inquisitor Draxus leading MSU guard will shred through infantry with their ability to shoot twice and have good survability with her pseudo lone operative.
The jetbikes are high toughness, high wound, highly mobile threats that are really consistent sources of damage and can even do an OK job at dealing with armour. Get a few of them if you can't get the tanks.
Get a box of sisters to babby the home objective and do actions.

I bought some acrylic inks mediums and empty dropper bottles to diy acrylic ink washes from a dakkadakka wash recipe.
Mostly because I like the feeling of a good diy.

Went to a doubles tournament today. I generally only play casually, but I was incentivised to paint by having a 1k painting challenge at the same time at the LGS. I played Chaos Knights and my partner played Necrons

Game 1 was against Orks/Ravenguard.

Orks just kind of pushed forward, and I couldn't supply the damage output needed. The dude brought something like 80 grots, some killa kans and a gorkanaut. Turn 3 I was able to touch a Karnivore to the Gorkanaut and ripped the last 15 wounds off of it. Awakened Dynasty partner collected primary while Ravenguard/Orks focused me. Ended up winning by 2 points.

Game 2 was against Starshatter Necrons/GSC. Opponents were pretty sweaty, and after finding out their team name was just an actual tryhard teamname, I can see why. I couldn't push deep enough to kill his doomsday arks, so whenever they activated into me, I was sweating. GSCs loneop sprinted in, threw a satchel charge for max damage, my Stalker exploded for max damage, killing him in return was a pretty funny moment. Lost this one by like 12 points it was rough. Game 3 was against Tau/Raptors. My personal favorite game and not because we demolished them. My opponents were really chill, and we just generally had a great time. Slaughterclaws ripped anything that stood on the center objective apart until around turn 4 when the Tau player rolled hot and dumped 22 damage after saves into a single Karnivore. Raptors deep striked into our backline in turn 3, but failed their charge, and I got my Karnivore to double back and charge them so my partners Reanimator wouldn't die to the terminators.

Ended the day with 2W/1L which I'll take for my first tournament. My opponents from Game 2 placed 2nd and high fived us for winning since it let them place better.

seer council is probably the strongest detachment post ynnari nerfs but with your current models I think you don't have enough psykers.

Consider another farseer/warlock combo or a eldrad/warlock combo so your guardians and storm guardians have psyker support.

even one warlock skyrunner for your windriders, a measly 45 points, gives them ignores cover and a flamer that can get up to S7, d6+2 attacks.

Dire avengers are a touch weak and over costed and competing with your windriders for the same task.

Wraith infantry frankly kinda suck. I've been playing Spirit Conclave every game I've played post codex, and I'm like 3:7 right now. They're tough, I very rarely get a wraith infantry unit wiped out, but they're low damage output and too damn slow. A wraithlord or two is fine.

I played Spirit Conclave vs Aspect Host today, on the crusade mission "Gheist in the Static" and lost on points in the 5th battle round.

the core rules suggest using models to represent or objectives, or that GW sells objective marker models. But pizza plates are easy and make it very clear exactly what is three inches away from the objective.

You can obviously use any terrain you want, and GW made rules for five other types of terrain besides ruins.

But ruins? ruins are mechanically the best terrain. 10th edition is super killy, and using ruins to block line of sight and protect your units makes the game a positioning and maneuver game more than a "who gets first time and clears the most models quickest".

L shaped ruins look stupid. Everyone thinks L shaped ruins look stupid. But it's the easiest terrain to move your models in and out of.

I think wraithguard and direavengers are the safe cuts that represent 170 and 160 points.

Shroud runners strip cover from an enemy and are suprisingly durable due to their stealth and 3 wound save, I think they're solid.

I think 10 fire dragons and Feugan is lots of antitank, especially if your wave serpent and wraithlord help out with a few bright lance shots for hard to reach targets.

I don't know your points, but wraithlord 2, a war walker, dark reapers, or warp spiders would all be solid options. I love shining spears, and I always try to include a unit of 3, but they're really hard to use and have under-performed in the three games I've used them.
