Black Door Flowers are one of the few types of man eating plants, particular because of their psionic nature in spite of having no recognizable signs of intelligence.

They can grow nearly anywhere with the actual flowering portion appear similar to any other nearby trees while the bell is underground opening it's "door" whenever prey is near.

They attract prey by releasing their pollen charged with psychic energy designed to make victims believe familiar and friendly individuals are guiding them home which leads them into the bell where they are slowly digested while still trapped in the illusion.

Experienced hunters can net a bit of treasure because Black Door Flowers will reguritate whatever they can't digest which usually includes whatever the last victims tend to have on their persons.

>You DO include man eating plants in your games, right?

Yes, I unironically fucking adore carnivorous plants. I'm very guilty of using carnivorous plants as one of my "top 3 1st level fodder" enemies a long with slimes and large insects.
I love using them so much for basically 2 reasons: 1. They're organic traps that set themselves. I don't need to come up with some kind of excuse, I can just put them wherever there's foot traffic and sunlight. There the actual perfect thing to put in overgrown ruins. 2. They're just so cool. This Anon has it right: >>96024965 there was something immediately iconic and appealing about an aggressive dart shooting, gnashing-jaw-flowering, tentacle-having, jungle plant.

>Obligate plant fetish portion of my post.

There's supposed to be a 'legendary' species of tree in Thailand that bears fruit that look like women. These women-shaped fruits have the 'interior' of a woman (no bones, just guts), and can sing, dance, move provocatively, fuck, but cannot speak or do anything 'completely' human. The tree only fruits for like a week, but once a man knew what it was for would obsess over the plant and devote everything he had to it.
Gods and saints would plant orchards of these trees around their territory to keep out pathetic and weak-willed intruders who'd either fuck the fruits to exhaustion or forget about divine treasures and just run off with the tree's seeds.

I used them once or twice, last time few years ago when I designed a castle/dungeon segment that was grennhouse-like, closed of arboretum. Ive did some reaserch on lesser known plant-based monsters, but the party didnt cheerish it as much as I thought they do and bailed out sonewhere in the middle, smashing glass and skupping later part of it by flying to thier next target.
I enjoyed the fight that took place because the plants were picked to exist/hunt in symbiosis, some of them more stationary, bounding the players and using sap to conusme them, while the more agile/moving ones used the occation to kill the players to feed thus helping the 1st ones in faster disgetion. Dnd is a shit system but planning encounters with puzzles/moving elements/gimicks and seeing party trying to solve it is one of the most fun elements of this system.

>you will never be an assassin vine slithering through the branches as a young female elf hunter gingerly steps through the mossy patches of the forest, waiting patiently until she is within reach, before dangling down and snapping forward to wrap your thick vines around her pale flesh, smothering her hapless cry of surprise as you wrap around her small mouth, pulling her feet out from under her and she lands hard on a rock with a muffled whimper, winding tighter and tighter around her, enjoying her helplessly thrashing as she squirms in your grasp, hearing her bones crack as you squeeze the life from her, her pale flesh bruising blue and purple, blood seeping out of her mouth and soaking into the vines, until at last she grows limp, and your vines burrow into her flesh, digesting her for energy, completing her life cycle and slowly decaying her beautiful fertile young nubile body, until she is part of nature again.

Reformation in general runs into similar stuff to the teleportation paradox if you think about it too much and don’t have souls to work with.
I dunno if most vorefags really think about it that deeply, I don’t get the impression they do. I think it’s usually treated as like a videogame life lost sorta thing. You just respawn.

I do, but their stomach acids are only strong enough to eat through a character's armor and clothing. Not their skin, hair or fur. Why? I dunno, I'm not a biologist.

If a character ends up in one of these plants, something worse than death happens... they end up NAKED!!!

MGE doesn't actually hurt anybody, the strongest actual acid just magically melts clothes, the rest is just referred to as "acid" or shit like that because that's what they used to have before they were transformed into girls.
