Luke...Did I ever tell you about Darth Maul?
Your father was not the only petulant shit I had to deal with during the Clone Wars.
But Maul was an entirely different beast, and we both had history together.
He killed my master Qui Gon Jin and nearly killed me by forcing me into a reactor shaft but I was able to catch some red light thing.
No there were no guard rails, Luke. I know it is a terrible oversight.
I was able to jump out of the shaft and my moves were so slick that when I forced Qui Gon's lightsaber into my hand that Maul froze up and I cut that horn-headed fucker in half.
Yet he was too petty to just let himself be dead, and his hatred for me became his reason to keep living.
Luke...to say Maul was constantly seething would be an understatement.
Anyway.
He went through multiple pairs of new legs from an alleged junk spider body to General Grevious legs to normal leg cybernetics but I don't think he ever got his Zabrak penis back. So it is safe to assume he real bottled sexual rage in him like nothing the galaxy had ever seen.
The shit he did during the Clone Wars, Luke...too many to name.
I'd say the biggest thing he did was when he took over planet Mandalore through some code of honor bullshit those jetpack assburners had in place, and killed a bitch who had a port I really wanted to dock inside.
He still kept chasing after me even after the days of Order 66.
Then finally one day when you were just a little boy we met at last, and after I acted all high and mighty just to spite him, I beat his raggedy sandy ass in like less than 4 seconds.
He chased me all the way across the galaxy only to get his ass whupped in less than 4 seconds Luke.
See that is what grudge holding and sexual frustration will do to anyone, Luke.
Now, let's head down to Mos Eisley.
I know a place that had a great pimp who had a selection of fine and fun Twi'lek girls.
And he was a good friend.
>>96044454This, the color being based on the crystal used is so much better than NuCanon lore.
How often do people do SW games where the players are Sith?
>>96044754However often they want.

Sometimes I think back on the old Empire At War Consortium campaign just to laugh at how stupid it was...
Hey Han, remember Tyber Zahn? That Geralt of Rivia looking asshole that wore that mighty fine bomber-jacket drip and a hand-cannon shooting molten plasma? So he was like double-crossed by Jabba or some shit and landed on Kessel but then his good friend, Egyptian god Ra hired you to bust his ass outta there. Wtf where you even doing there Han, weren't you with the Rebelion by this point? He like freed all the slaves and shit but since all of you are asshats you just left them there ya bozos. So anyway, he like reacticated old Sepratist droid factories and conquered Mandalore. And then he got that sweet ass Dathomirian dominatrix on his side and got an army of rancors? Boy, what a beast. So then like these Legends bigshots like Thrawn and Xizor came to bust his shit but I guess they were camera shy so Geralt just ran around Bespin blowing up Tibana gas like some gangbanger along with his homie IG-88 and his sick ass personal ship. Then he got news that Palpy had to sort you guys out over at Endor, so hey, why the fuck not raid the old mans crib while he's away? Member how Ra got into a personal battle with all the inquisitors and how he bantered with the dominatrix about it? So anyway, Geralt found out Palpy had his personal ride, the Eclpise they call it, over at Kuat, and since the bastards dead, why not grab it? So you guys teamed up and then he backstabbed cuz you idiot thought he wanted it destroyed. Lmao, you actually got Millenium Falcon blown up figthing this doofus. So finally, he got this Death Star ship, yeah? What he do? He just download all the files because aparently Palpy is a boomer who hid all his double-books and shit on the Moffs on his remote PC, on a ship, half the Rim away, that wasn't even built. Oh and then the Dominatrix awoke the teracota sith army - what ever came of that? Oh right, you're just a burnt crisp cuz you died over Kuat...
Is there a problem with Legion/Shatterpoint minis having oversized heads? I played a demo game yesterday with a friend and while I didn't want to be a dick by commenting on it, the infantrymen who didn't have helmets seemed to have distractingly huge heads. I checked the shop and they seem normal there, so maybe it was some old miscast, or just a single unit?
>>96045463It's complicated.
Older Legion minids have heroic proportions with a slightly bigger head and yaoi hands to make them stand out more. It shouldn't be that noticeable though, maybe he used custom 3d printed heads or from a game with a different scale.
Newer minis tend to have more normal proportions, and Shatterpoint models are normal besides ttheir use of a more ccartooniish design overall.
Aanother issue with Legion is that some vehicles are scaled differently and older minis were shorter, so pilots and older characters can kinda look like manlets when next to newer characters.

>>96044431 (OP)I kinda wish colors had more meaning than in canon.
Blue: basic good guy
Red: bad guy
Green: advanced good guy
Orange: fool's gold kyber crystal
Yellow: Jedi Temple Guard and also Rey
White: ex-bCanon.
Purple/Magenta/Pink: your name starts with M and you're kinda edgy
>>96045686I really liked that Visions episode with the fancy tempered crystals. Having them change color on the fly like that should just be canon.
>>96045686supposedly the colour of crystals do have meaning, but its just a bit of flavour text more than anything
acolyte visual guide says that yellow is supposed to represent "stalwart vigilance" or something
we also know that yellow has fallen out of favour by the time of the prequels, and is seen as a more neutral colour thats not typically associated with the jedi (outside of the temple guard of course) no idea why
>>96045377Now that's a great idea - New Vegas rebels. Cool stuff :))
>>96045686I wish red had just been Anakin's color, and not "all bad guys have red".
>>96045593>using wow loot tiers
>>96045722What does the guide say about the other colours? It's been extremely vague in disney canon despite the colours being important.
>>96045377>FFG campaign taking place on a desert world in the outer rim>fuck huge infinite river running through the middle of the world like a giant ring>hydroelectric dam built thousands of years ago>factions are: a local desert militia that allied themselves with the NR>a former Jedi who took command of the local tribes and put them in piecemeal stormtrooper armor>the brain of the original dam architect who runs the surrounding city with his droid securityIf all my players hadnโt already played New Vegas I feel like this could be fun
>>96045526Think it was the imperial operative guys. Not sure if the guy with a fighter pilot helm was oversized - those helmets kinda feel oversized in-lore - but the named characters w/o helms definetly felt off.
>>96045593Purple feels like it would be more in the rare with yellow, but mb its just my KOTOR/Jedi Academy brain talking.
>>96046043Yeah I'm biased as well as red is my favourite colour but it would've been cool but I understand why red is kept as evil only.
What's the advantage of E-11 rifle over DC-15 carbine? Why was clone weaponry phased out?
Also, why is E-11 is called rifle if it's the size of carbine?
>>96046084I dont know, it was just on a page about yord that I saw posted online
>>96046719>you now remember the yord horde
>>96046413E-11 is cheaper, clone weaponry is also more specialized against droids

>>96045298>Bendu>Not "The One in the Middle"
So I recently finally finished Andor S2- what did people here think of it?
I noticed early on the outrage industry wokespotters were trying to kick up a fuss that it went too far for including a sexual assault scene, but that seemed to get shouted down by all the praise later on.
I think my only note is, I would have removed the word rape used in the dialogue, since I feel that takes you out of it a bit. Like Star Wars is about Child Soldiers and Droid Slavery, but I find it better that they don't have to explicitly point that out, it's on the audiences dumb ass to not need it pointed out.
>>96045452People forget due to how dogshit Disney Canon is, but the lows of Legends were reallllll low.
>>96048075I liked it and thought it was really good. The rape dialogue had no impact on me. It didn't do the show and disservice besides retards crying about it saying Vader wouldn't allow rape in the Empire.
>>96048075The first arc was overtly alluded to modern day politics, namely MeToo and immigration. It was the weakest arc out of all of them for that, and for not really having much impact on the rest of the season. We don't see much more of Mon Mothma's family after this, so that goes nowhere. The "you need papers to be here thing" never comes up again. We see Yavin as a place where a group of dumb and divided group of rebels got stranded, but the next time we see it it's already the functional rebel base we saw in the movies. The TIE Avenger prototype is never again referenced. The only things that happen in this arc that have any impact later on are the death of that one friend of his, Mon Mothma starting to not trust Luthien over her friends assassination, and the beginning of the Ghorman situation. That's it.
The rest of the season was MUCH better and far less political, and that's not a coincidence.
>>96044431 (OP)TQ: Those are the coolest colors in the world based on the average person's "Favorites," but I see no reason one shouldn't be allowed to find a crystal that allows a more custom look.
However, when you get into what each color means and represents to the jedi council, that's when it gets sticky.
In an age when the jedi council is in hiding or disbanded for some reason, you do you. When they're in full force, understand the meaning of your lightsaber and why you wield the color that you do.
>>96048089People forget because everyone just ignored the lows of the EU since they were largely unimportant to the "main plot". The lows of Shitsneycannon are A: part of the main plot and B: almost all of it, so can't be ignored.
This is what the Disney Mom programme shills never understood - people weren't unaware of the flawed parts of the EU, we were just able to overlook them and enjoy the good parts. Which is harder to do if there *aren't* good parts.
>>96048198Rainbow blade=youngling caretaker
>>96048227I agree, its almost inverted: the good parts of Disney canon are none of the big saga films: its one anthology film, its tv show spinoff, and the first (and second, if we're generous) seasons of another show. The rest is utter in-your-face garbage.
>>96048075I liked it, best SW in years.
>>96048075I enjoyed it. The Ghorman massacre was easily the best arc and after Syril died K2 and Mothma were the only characters I really cared about. People getting upset about the attempted rape was kind of wild.
>>96048229But rainbows are gay... oh I get it
>>96048075I enjoyed it for the most part but I had a fair few problems with it, mostly caused by the obvious compression of 3 seasons in 1.
>Wilmon and BixWith how little time they had I feel both characters were in this weird in-between where they are technically important but don't really do shit. We're told they both work for Luthen like Cassian but the way it's shown is awkward.
Bix's PTSD from torture arc felt kinda drawn out, while Wilmon lauding Luthen on Yavin feels undeserved since they never interact. I think having her go with Cassian to Ghorman (to show her work for Luthen, interact with Cassian and give her a reason for wanting Cassian to stay with the Rebellion) and give more time for Wilmon to work for Luthen before being sent to Saw would serve the plot better.
>SyrilHis growing disillusioned with the Empire happens too fast, as does his falling out with Carro the Ghorman leader
>K2-SOShould have add more screentime. Same for Melshi.
>Luthen and KleyaTheir backstory felt rushed, I think their flashbacks should have been more spread out.
I'm slightly put off by Luthen's OC donut concept (guy we never heard of is responsible for every rebel successes before 2BBY because he is a such a morally grey badass unlike the other moralfag rebels), but the execution is really solid.
>Mon MothmaHer family's plot is important but is probably the weakest plotline of the show.
>GhormanI may hate Paris but that Haussmann architecture is amazing.
>KrennicMight be the best part of the show.
>Everything related to the ISBTop tier.
>CassianIronically worst character on the show
>SawThe Rhydonium monologue was great but it kind of feels like his only reason to exist along with introducing more moral greyness to Star Wars.
Sorry for the blogposting.
>>96048616Ghorman is Milan, not Paris.
>>96048075Didn't like it very much and also thought it wasn't very good. It was pretty to look at most of the time.
I was already a fan of Mothma and Chandrila before the first season of the show, so all of the development of "Old Chandy" culture was kinda neat.
>>96048003It's been many years since, but i ran multiple campaigns with different systems, d20, saga, and edge of empire (for EoE campaign only like 5 sessions maybe). Honestly I don't understand the mechanics of how edge of empire is supposed to work, at the time i used my judgement but we still seemed to have decent fun with that one. With the D20 systems was easier to understand for many things except i remember multiple "boss encounters" being hilariously easy sometimes, or when someone else was DMing everything was insanely hard (like a guy basically did a spot check at a skeleton being chewed on by rats, seemed like environmental flavor or something, but he tried to leave and provoked attack opportunity with the rats who ate him within seconds) hoho, goofy stuff
>>96048075Worse than the first season. Could've cut it down to just a movie about Ghorman stuff and it would've been for the better. Everything else was either rushed to shit or wasn't worth the time in the first place. As it is, I think it's a nearly unmitigated pacing disaster.

>>96048178Reducing a rape attempt to 'MeToo' is awfully retarded. So is thinking cultural genocide or all the senate scenes are somehow apolitical. What you mean to say is you think rape is controversial, and it's bad to be controversial.

>>96044431 (OP)>TQSaber color being a reflection of disposition is pretty cool, and OC DONUT STEEL colors are fine as long as the character has something to back it up with. One early novelization of Return had Luke's saber turn red in Vader's hands, which is a neat visual way of having battle reveal a character's true colors.
>>96049455>Reducing a rape attempt to 'MeToo' is awfully retarded. It's more "inserting a rape scene to be MeToo compliant is awfully retarded." The scene served no purpose, it doesn't even contribute to her PTSD. There's no plot or storyline reason for it to occur at all.
> So is thinking cultural genocide or all the senate scenes are somehow apolitical. They're not directly applicable to modern leftists screeds unless you delude yourself into thinking it's somehow about Palestine, and only the most deluded lefties were willing to make THAT stretch.
>What you mean to say is you think rape is controversial, and it's bad to be controversial. That's the thing: rape ISN'T controversial. What IS controversial is trivializing it for shock value or inserting it to pander to the current wave of whores who sold their bodies to advance their careers then decided to reneg years or decades later.
>>96051517Ah, but anon, you've hit on an even more plausible explanation in your post. Rape and attempted-rape scenes long predate the MeToo moment, and it has been primarily for shock value and though few directors would admit, titillation too. If it were 2018, I'd agree with you that was why it was in there. But MeToo is a spent cultural force, of little relevance in the current year. It peaked with the attempted Borking of now-Justice Kavanaugh, and those complaining about it most now either playing the culture-war card to cover their crimes or are genuine victims of the classic false rape accusation, a tool that has existed nearly as long as the concept of rape.
>>96051517I think you're reading into it too much. You can complain it doesn't advance the plot, but I think that that's more a consequence of how they condensed several planned seasons into the show.
I think I'd more complain that Bix following the attempted rape doesn't immedietely enter her 'radicalized rebel arc' and that doesn't kick in until a few conversations with Luthen and Andor. I think she should be in permanent 'KILL KILL KILL' mode after that scene + the death of Brasso, rather than entering a depressed druggie state. Not that that's unrealistic, I just think it would be more compelling. I think it's also a scene the helps demonstrate why the Empire is bad- it's not JUST bad because it's owned by a space-wizard. It's bad because corruption is endemic in the system, since if someone can't address grievances of abuses of authority, then people will abuse that authority even without it being on the Emperor's behalf. I doubt he much cares if his officers rape people, but that's the point. He's destroyed the ability for his guys to be held accountable.
>They're not directly applicable to modern leftists screeds unless you delude yourself into thinking it's somehow about Palestine, and only the most deluded lefties were willing to make THAT stretch. So what you're saying is that your definition of politics is confined solely to what the left says it is. And like- Star Wars, a series about the nature of democracies and autocracies, is completely apolitical unless some leftist on the internet might get some of their stuff referenced.
>What IS controversial is trivializing it for shock value or inserting it to pander to the current wave of whores who sold their bodies to advance their careers then decided to reneg years or decades later.Which didn't happen in the show?

>>96051163I looked up the Darth Maul Mandalorian part. Seems true enough.
>>96045452It was all goated though, fag.
At what point Empire started forcefully retiring/phasing out Clones? In both New Canon and Legends (Did Empire even did that in Legends? I recall a 501's trooper from old Battlefront II served up to Galactic Civil War)
I'm making retired/discharged Clone character for SW FFG campaign (either Veteran or ARC spec) but also genuinly curious
>>96058118It happens in the Bad Batch series. Palpatine announces to the senate that the clone programme has been disbanded and theyโll be replaced by stormtroopers. So about a year maybe after Revenge of the Sith.
>>96058118I doubt that they'd need to with their advanced aging. Eventually most Clones would need to retire by the time of the Rebellion with only a few dedicated holdouts maybe still donning the Stormtrooper Armor. Maybe a few get relegated to sweet spot desk-jobs or support roles.
I imagine most of the transfer occurred when the Clones were given pensions, and thus a retirement opportunity- IE they were no longer entirely reliant on the military. It seems in Bad Batch that they retained Clone Divisions in their armor, while simply raising new Stormtrooper Divisions to make up for the shortfall of troops from Clones retiring or defecting. I imagine at a separate date they gave down an order for a swap from old Clone War Gear to Imperial Classic gear, which would likely create the next largest wave of voluntary retirements as I imagine this would reduce esprit de corps of Clone Divisions.
The seperate question might be when Clone Trooper Divisions were disbanded and folded into regular Stormtrooper Divisions, which presumably at the latest would have happened as Clone Divisions loose cohesive combat potential due to advanced aging. Clones that were still under ten (20 in clone years and thus of fighting age) at the time that Kamino was shut down would make up for a shortfall, but only for so long. Hence likely they would be folded into regular or perhaps specialty divisions (my theory on Death Troopers is they are holdover Clones)/
>>96058138We still see Clone Divisions still being used after that point- specifically Wolf's division shows up during a manhunt.
The directive seems to be more to place the bulk of the military into the hands of Stormtroopers, while Clone Divisions continue to operate in the meantime.
>>96058118>EUBF2 mentions that the Empire started using non-clones volunteers right after Order 66 and the narrator notes they are shittier than the clones. Supposedly the Empire really started phasing the clones out after the Kamino uprising in 12BBY (from Battlefront 2) so that's when the latest Jango clone would be made.
>NucanonClones gt phased out in the year following Order 66 according to Bad Batch, and Kamino basically got razed in 19BBY.
Mount Tantiss and the last remnants of the Empire cloning programs got destroyed in 18BBY, so that's probably the latest creation date for a Jango clone.
Though in both continuities there can always be some wiggle room with a rogue Kaminoan doing shit on his own.
>>96058118Clone Troopers are phased out over a year after the end of the Clone Wars in favor of the Stormtrooper program. However, the Empire trained the last batches of clones (or some really unlucky ones ended up as experiments) and integrated them into various parts of the military. Older veteran clones were phased out. Up to what we can assume is 15 BBY, there were still clone stormtrooper divisions until they were fully consolidated into the Stormtrooper Corps. By the time of Yavin, Fett clones were a rare sight in the Empire. In EU, the clone program never ended, the Fett template was joined by other genetic donors and birth-born recruits. We can assume the Imperial cloning program of the old EU was scuttled soon after RotJ.

>>96061519I wouldn't say OP, but CIS is by far the most forgiving faction for a new-ish player to pilot, and one of the hardest to play against as a new player.
With their coordinate keyword they usually get great order control, they are less susceptible to suppression, and a lot of their units are very tanky for their points (B2s, BXs, Magnas, Droidekas, Aqua droids, AAT, Snail tank and Crabs are all pretty tough)
As a Rebel player their are some ways to deal with them
>MPL-57 Rebel Troopers and M-45+Rocket LandspeedersIon will fuck up droids really hard, and Impact helps with the armor.
>AT-RT with Laser cannonThey are a cheap source of Impact to deal with armor, and good range can usually keep them out of trouble
>Sleeper Cells or Fleet TroopersBig dice pools will get through any defense
>melee unitsThat can mean Tauntauns, Wookiees. Fleet troopers or a hero like Luke, Ahsoka or Din Djarin. These will usually make short work of Droidekas.
Part of it also depends on your opponent's list. It's important to focus on their hard hitting units when possible.
>>96062017Lovely minis, Anon-kun :))
>>96061519>OPEeh, not really? Looking at recent competitive data, they and the rebels are the strongest two factions, but not by a huge margin.
As the other Anon said, bring lots of ion and large dice pools. In particular, speeder trucks with sleeper cells in them are very annoying to deal with. Din Djarin can definitely disrupt droid plans if he gets a flamer attack on b1s or bugs, and then he can kill the support commanders.
>>96062074Are those aqua droids? wonder why AMG has a boner for them, they are coming in shatterpoint too.
>>96044431 (OP)Was his saber always Mara Jade tier pink? I thought it was supposed to be purple.
>>96062079Yes, they are probably one of the strongest units in the game, if used properly.
>>96062111On film is a more proper pink, this comes from the production photo's color grading that was intended to make SLJ look less blackityblack levels of black.
>>96062125It's just odd, these are shades of purple, even the lightest one isn't neon pink like that. Is it the inclusion of the white core that's fooling my eyes?
>>96062162If you really want to know, use a pipette tool to find the exact color.
But Mara Jade's saber color also varies from purple to cyberpunk neon at times.
And I guess it can even change depending on the lighting you are in, what screen you're using, etc.
OG Forcesabers remain the only true purple glowsticks.
>>96062125fuck i typoed, i meant purple not pink
>>96062162Controversial Opinion: The immensely lame dark saber existing now in canon should predispose more interesting colors being avalable. Like non-white cores and the inclusion of metallics and tonal shades, just like the old EU already had.

>>96062773only if her and luke go on adventures and fugg
>>96062685No. She is a shitty fanfiction wish fulfillment character and doesn't look like she belongs to Star Wars. George was right to despise her, and was right to decide that Luke doesn't get married. Luke is a Jedi. Jedi don't marry.
>>96062685If they had Kylo kill her adapting the Jacen/Darth Caedus storyline it wouldโve made it more interesting and especially Luke going into exile. Instead Luke died a lonely virgin on an island.
>>96062685That would be less shit than the utter dogshit we got in the ST.
>>96062773Her also being a Hand fits the whole shtick of Sheev having parallel organizations competing and infiiltrating each other.
In fact, the Hands being a super sekrit Force users club directly controlled by Sheev compared to the somewhat openly operating Inquisitors would be a nice dagger pointed at Vader.
Afterall, the whole 'aprentice and master backstabbing each other' Sith thing requires both of them having a supply of potential apprentices.

When writers would ask George for a lore bible or some list of dos and don'ts for writing Canon Star Wars, he literally just handed them the ttrpg he had nothing to do with. When Kanan opened himself up to the Force to save Hera and Ezra, was it a state of Oneness? Did he heal his own eyes? If not, did the "Force" make a "conscious" decision to heal his eyes so Kanan and Hera could lock eyes one last time? Is the Force a hopeless romantic?
>>96067085>was it a state of Oneness? yes

I saw this question posted a long time ago, and it's been in the back of my brain ever since: Can you use the Light Side to do evil? Lift a rock to drop on an crush an innocent baby?
>>96067560No thatโs using the Dark Side. The sith can lift things with their minds too.
Can you focus force lightning into something akin to a stunner? Like just enough energy to incapacitate but not permanently damage. Or would that be a completely different ability altogether
>>96067705Right, but you have to be using emotions to fuel the Darkside. This is assuming you're calm and completely focused, like any Jedi using the Force to levitate a rock would be.
>>96067560Most Force powers aren't inherently Light or Dark, so things like telekinesis, force jumps or whatnot are used by both sides, so you absolutely can crush a baby, though it's a one way ticket to the Dark Side.
>>96067833Old EU had something called Electric Judgment, which was Force lightning for the good guys, as silly as it sounds.
>>96067833force lightning is quite literally trying to hate somebody to death and the dark side being willing to accommodate that. it isn't just a call lightning spell or anything like that
>>96067833>>96068101isnt force lightning used a bunch as punishment?
the intent is to cause pain (and i guess stun someone) rather than kill in that moment
dooku does it a lot in TCW
>>96067560The way I saw it, the rule for Jedi is you can use the force however you want, so long as the force isn't doing the killing.
If you use the force to throw your lightsaber at someone, then the lightsaber does the killing. Use it to push someone off a cliff? The fall kills them. Use it to crush a Droid? Well Droids aren't people so they don't count. But use it to force-choke someone? Then you are using your connection to the oneness of the universe to directly hurt someone, and that's a no-no.
So I guess in theory force-lightning is okay to jump-start a car, but you can't really use it to actually hit someone.
>>96068357Could you force hold a sith's hand and force force them to lightsaber seppuku? Technically not choking or crushing and technically not direct force murder
Those who played FFG's Star Wars TTRPGs - what's you experience? Is it a good system? How it fares compared to other SW TTRPGs?
>>96068383Not the hand, but I think the Lightsaber would be A-Ok.
>>96068078I know most powers are shared by both sides, but I wasn't referring to that. Using your hate to life the rock is Dark Side, using calm and focus is Light Side. I'm not asking if killing babies makes you Dark Side, I'm asking if you can use the Light to kill babies.
>>96045220If you're willing to run FFG again, I'm down to play.
>>96068617>I'm asking if you can use the Light to kill babies.by definition that is a dark side action
Post Star Wars minis.
I want to see Star Wars minis.
>>96048075It's pacing is certainly flawed due to the fact that originally they planned 4 seasons.
Otherwise, visual and audio orgasm, constantly.
But Ghorman massacre deserved more scenes and details, of how riots and then imperial response spreading planet-wide
>>96069087I saved this image from one of our few anons who posts pics of his games.
>>96069109A post-massacre Ghorman would be very interesting to get details about. We know from Rogue One's background details that at least one Ghorman wound up working with Saw, but not much more.
In terms of Andor's story though, there's no point lingering on it. Ghorman was a shitshow where Luthen won, the Rebellion grew stronger, but it made a wedge between him and Andor. I can imagine it may have been a recurring plot point had they made multiple seasons and for that, I'm glad it ended up as two. Too many shows overstay their welcome and lose punch in their messaging. Andor would have probably been no different, even with a competent team behind it.
>Is that a cripple non force sensitive cadet? AAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEE
>>96068637There's a difference between "doing this will make you fall to the dark side" and "using the Dark Side". If you haven't fallen to the Dark Side (yet) and you use the techniques to draw upon the Light Side of the Force, does that mean you can use the Light Side (however briefly) to commit murder?
>>96068357I mean, I'm pretty sure the Jedi took exception to Anakin massacring the younglings even if he did use his lightsaber to do it. And I'm pretty certain he was well beyond drawing upon the Light Side by that time anyways.
>>96069109I do feel like I want to see another show expand on the Ghorman plotline. Like I want to see what the imperial mining does the planet. I hope it's not complete destruction like the Death Star to show a gradiation in threat level.
>>96069430I mean I don't think he really needed to bother using a lot of light-side techniques while he was doing that. Like swinging lightsabers isn't inherently light-side. Though I do like to think that the Jedi invented the light-side specifically to avoid using the force to directly kill their combatants.
Is there any house rules that make WEG D6 Force rules closer to the movie description?
Where the Dark Side is quicker, more seductive but ultimately lesser to doing things with morality?
I know FFG had a dice thing where there were 7/12 dark side faces but the light side faces had more pips.

It's set circa 6 months after Yavin and the Imperial Officer is Janek Sunber, aka Luke's friend 'Tank'.
>>96062685>If the sequels literally just adapted the Mara Jade stories, would they have been better received?Yes... but also no.
While it would go along way to fixing things, especially Luke's characterisation and storyline, it wouldn't fix all the issues. And that's not taking into account the fact that the people in charge are incompetent so there'd still be a risk that they'd just fuck it up.
>>96044431 (OP)What I like about the Sith in the EU is how they arenโt these generic Satanic space wizards; they are these entities that strive for self mastery and power. Darth Plagueis has such a fascination with the dark side and Darth Malgus has such a devotion to conflict; there is something really sacred and compelling about them.
>>96070085>The unfortunate thing about the old EU before the prequels is that a lot of it stands at odds with the films. How the Empire seemingly forgot about cloning within a few years of its collapse when it was a widely known way to produce soldiers is strange.A lot of that stuff was based on the presumption that clones were the enemies of the Republic in the "Clone Wars". That said, it wasn't too hard to work things out. The cloning process described in the prequels had a relatively huge ramp-up time (10+ years to get an army project underway, with clones needing half the time of a normal human to reach adulthood), compared to what was described in the Thrawn trilogy. It could be the case that it was understood to work in the sense of producing good soldiers in moderate numbers, but was still ineadequate for the Empire's long-term intentions. That said, I wasn't aware of
>>96071532. Does something say whether those are supposed to be new clones, or leftovers?
>>96071532I know so many people wjo seethe at the Tank comics because they actually humanize an Imperial.
>>96071975>That said, I wasn't aware of >>96071532 #. Does something say whether those are supposed to be new clones, or leftovers? After the formation of the Empire and especially after the Kaminoan rebellion, the Empire started cloning from a variety of new templates at different locations. There are a couple Vader short stories where he vets a bunch of potential clone templates.
>>96072483I really liked them, not just because they humanised the Imperials a bit, but because of the tragedy of Tank and Luke being on opposite sides of the war and then the Rebellion comics that followed, where Tank grapples with this and then ends up being the one who tells Vader that it was Luke that destroyed the Death Star. And then Luke goes AWOL to try and rescue him, only for it to turn out that Tank has gone full Imperial (or has been brainwashed) and it's a set up.
Also, because it's fun to point out to people complaining about the attempted rape scene in Andor, that just shy of 20 years ago Tank stopped another officer from raping a female prisoner.
>>96069774In this example, there is no fear or attachments being formed. What now?

>>96074942As a species one showed up exactly one time in one shitty comic with shitty art as a tertiary character, so I guess they do but without any of the lore.
>>96071532Why does these 2 cloned stormtroopers look so angry?
>>96068394No one plays SW TTRPGs here, bro, we just complain about the franchise state.
>>96068394I have had a great time both running and playing that system. It's surprisingly crunchy for something meant to lean towards narrative gameplay. Mods for equipment really go all out in letting you make your gear unique. The biggest drawback is just people having to get used to non-number results (and having to get ahold of special dice if you aren't willing to use an online roller), and that passes pretty quickly. I personally don't like some of the more "mother-may-I" parts of the rules (such as being able to say you brought along some random piece of equipment by flipping a Destiny point) and if you're planning on playing flying starfighters you're gonna need some house rules, but overall it really complements the tone of the setting.
>>96068394I only ever gave a fuck about Star Wars D6, everything after that was a dumpster fire.

>>96077825>Then they spent like ten yeaers showing how badass Anakin was during the clone warsGood joke
>>96077825>And they told stories about how badass Vader was for decades.
>>96077639I don't think the hallway scene was particularly overindulgent. It showed Vader living up to his reputation of being a terrifying opponent, but doesn't really show him doing anything we haven't seen Jedi or Sith do before. He deflects blasters shots with his lightsaber, uses telekinesis to yank weapons off the rebel troopers' hands and throws people at the walls and ceiling. All of that is something you'd expect a powerful Force-user to be able to do.
If you want some real Vader-wank, look at the comics, where he's shown pulling off some superhero-level bullshit. Killing a dozen revel troopers in a hallway is tame compared to that.

>>96045232>no games clubs90% of posters go there.
>>96077225Oh it's easy to make a character, which is super convenient for one shots or whatever.
My issue is that there's not that much variety in character builds; you just go down the same list grabbing the same talents as everyone else. Your smuggler-scoundrel will be the same as my smuggler-scoundrel, for example.
Force users are the only ones with more options since they can spend their xp on force powers instead of being limited to their career trees.
And multiclassing is super expensive so you won't see it often
>>96077845Honestly, my only actual dislike for the hallway sequence was I felt the guy he bisected while pinned to the ceiling was a touch too... flamboyant, I guess? Like, it would've felt perfectly in keeping with the OT to either just neck the guy or cut him, but both feels off, somehow.
>>96077810>Nah Krennic scene was great as well. The Krennic scene got a lot of shit for it's writing back in the day, but it was misplaced. The writing was fine, what was wrong was that Vader sounded thin and frail due to JEJ's delivery. It sucks, but sometimes characters age out of roles. They would have been better off using one of their other Vader actors and editing his voice.
>>96079321Really? I never ran into that issue. There's a bunch of talents in most trees that I skip, giving me more XP to branch out into my next tree. And that sort of like saying two Level 5 fighters are pretty similar in DnD: yeah sure, but that's only because they haven't really had enough advancement to differentiate themselves.

Looking for any and all top down tokens for an upcoming VTT campaign.
Thanks in advance!!!
>>96071532>>96075683Empire clones at least in old EU were not as well maintained or as well trained as Jango Clones. While Jango clones were aged rapidly it still took around 10 years for them to be fully grown/trained. Empires new clones were all unstable, increased growth, and flash training which resulted in unstable soldiers

This is going to sound odd, but hear me out here. How do you even come up with a jedi or a sith character that is somewhat believable now? I grew up with Star Wars and KOTOR, but it's like Disney has completely warped the setting into something contradictory, and codified every small thing into something or another, that I'm not even sure how to approach it without tossing the last 16 years of BS out.
>when the wookiee drums start banging
>>96081835>that I'm not even sure how to approach it without tossing the last 16 years of BS out.Neither does Disney, that's why High Republic exists

>>96081835For all I hate didney canon, I have no clue what you're talking about. It's no more difficult to create a Jedi or Sith than it ever was.
I've been thinking about DMing a game that takes place "somewhere" in the starwars galaxy, the players are jedi establishing their own temple & deciding what's important to their player council. I'd encourage freedom of expression so players can be whoever they want, not required to be a jedi. Once i was doing a game, i had a player who wanted to be a gungan and everyone was like "oh nooo", but i was like "why not?" he managed to do the comic relief role perfectly, when his character spoke he did the gungan voice like a voice actor (this guy is like voice-actor good too) god help me it was hilarious, i loved seeing a Gungan with a jetpack flying around doing rescue operations alongside the more serious player heroes, sometimes things can be lightened up with a laugh, there's room for all kinds of characters.
>>96080620For me, it's the Classic. Lot of good stuff here, but I can't bring myself to ditch the original.
Yoda aggressively sucks your feet, how do you respond?
Are there snek people in Star Wars
>>96083653Barring a minor race I'm just not remembering, I think the closest in current canon is Falleen, Xizor's race.
Yes, Shadows of the Empire was purged from canon but there were Black Sun Falleen in Clone Wars and Clone Wars is still canon, so there.
But the galaxy is a big place and if you're running a game and what your people to come across hot snek babes, you can have them come across sexy snek babes.
>>96082807Is this why shakk ti was noted as not wearing shoes for years?
>>96081005If you find them, make a MEGA and add it to the pastebin.
>>96083653There are some kinda snake-ish. I don't remember any literal snakes.
>>96083708Yoda is a devious little gremlin
>>96082489Why does no one want to flesh out Yoda's species?
>>96083759There must be some strange, explicit standing orders from George that they can never be expanded upon or even given a species name.
>>96083767Quick, make up your own fan name for Yoda's species, publish it and see if you can get it to catch on.
>>96083788Uh... I came up with Ozzian, after Frank Oz, but that's too close to Ozian, which refers to anything to do with L Frank Baum's Oz world.
Lucozian? With some of George's last name in there?
Feels too clunky to say.
Knarfozian? Just Frank's name backwards.
But the Knarf part sounds like something Pinky would say.
Yeeddles?
Too Dr Seuss.
Fug. This is harder than I thought.
Even NuCanon for Yoda admits he is greatly fond of meat.
Really Yoda's species is like a bunch of tree-dwelling goblins. They have the weird feet which let them grip branches, good hearing and blend in with the enviroment.
>>96083873โBaby Yodaโ is extremely gremlin or goblinesque. I was amazed Disney had him eat more than half of that frog bitchโs tadpoles. Very JarJar of him. I think thatโs why I hate him, more than anything else.
>>96083788>>96083859The species name is Yoda, Master Yoda refused to give anyone his name because it was something embarrassing.
>>96083922But what about Yaddle?
>>96083914He'll always be Yeed to me.
>>96083914Yoda's species are the humans to the mogwai's chimps
>>96083989Same, but only because Grongu is fucking shit name. Even if it was a meme, at least Yeed still followed the Yoda, Yaddle naming convention.
>>96083788Pikku, as a corruption of Pikkupaholainen from Finnish. It's simple, cute for small creatures to have and Lucas liked to play around with words so it seems apt.
>>96083943Yaddle was proud of the name her parents gave her. Yoda was not.

>>96085198That might end up beeing a little awkward, Sabine's ancestros will also be there commenting on how she has slim hips and will not help repopulate Mandalore.
>>96085225That's fine, we can conference Mulan style on derogatory things to call Sabine.
>>96084530She's too clean here. The actress doesn't look stinky like the character and it's jarring.
>>96083759The mystery is better than an answer. I'm sure they'd retcon Yaddle if they could get away with it.
What makes Kiffar different from humans? The face marks are just tattoos, and the wiki only said they have scarlet blood, but human blood is also red.
>>96085517At this point why not? Everything else about the cool mysteries of Star Wars is fucked, Yoda's race is the last piece.
>>96085526No idea, would be cool if they had different or extra organs.

>>96085650>Only 6ftNot enough Midi-chlorians, we must go taller.
>>96079595Krennic scene sucks ass, not only is it completely removable and it doesn't even change the film, you have Vader going around making dad puns cause MUH ESB WHEN HE KILLS NEEDA (even though ESB Vader IS NOT normal Vader, he's purposefully crueler there cause he's hunting Luke, and even then it isn't a fucking pun) and being all sarcastic cause "THATS JUST HOW VADER IS, HES SO FUCKKING COOL". Way to miss the ANH characterisation by a mile. Plus yeah his voice sucks, there isn't even a single shred of malevolence present, just use someone who sounds like young JEJ instead of bringing him back for publicity's sake

I'm looking to consolidate my X-Wing collection while there is still a nonzero amount of 1.0 stuff out there. I feel like the game ran best up to about wave 4/5, and was still okay until about wave 7 (TLT notwithstanding). Probably going to focus on ships up to wave 4 with a few of the things I already have from later thrown in. Does the following look reasonable to other X-Wing players, or should I up numbers on a few things?
>Wave 1
>4 X-Wings, 3 Y-Wings, 8 TIE Fighters, 1 TIE Advanced
>Wave 2
>2 YT-1300, 1 Firespray, 4 TIE Interceptor, 3 A-Wing
>Wave 3
>1 HWK-290, 1 Lambda, 2 B-Wing, 2 TIE Bomber
>Wave 4
>4 Z-95, 1 TIE Defender, 1 TIE Phantom, 2 E-Wing
For the record I already own most of the ships listed (and some later bonus things like Imp/Rebel Aces) but some are going to be annoying to source complete sets of like the Lambda and Hawk.
>>96085850>staying in 1.0You should try the XWA version of x-wing 2.5
>>96085650Troonmega wishes he had such boobs, lmao.
>>96085865I played some 2.0 and hated it, 2.5 looked like a complete clusterfuck from the outside and I didn't want to buy things a third time. I like points values printed on cards and list building out of the box. Tournament players are what killed 1.0 so "its better for tournament play" doesn't win me over. I do acknowledge I hold the minority view on this and don't want to flame others for holding the majority view, but I don't like said view personally.
