Your father was not the only petulant shit I had to deal with during the Clone Wars.
But Maul was an entirely different beast, and we both had history together.
He killed my master Qui Gon Jin and nearly killed me by forcing me into a reactor shaft but I was able to catch some red light thing.
No there were no guard rails, Luke. I know it is a terrible oversight.

I was able to jump out of the shaft and my moves were so slick that when I forced Qui Gon's lightsaber into my hand that Maul froze up and I cut that horn-headed fucker in half.
Yet he was too petty to just let himself be dead, and his hatred for me became his reason to keep living.

Anyway.
He went through multiple pairs of new legs from an alleged junk spider body to General Grevious legs to normal leg cybernetics but I don't think he ever got his Zabrak penis back. So it is safe to assume he real bottled sexual rage in him like nothing the galaxy had ever seen.

The shit he did during the Clone Wars, Luke...too many to name.
I'd say the biggest thing he did was when he took over planet Mandalore through some code of honor bullshit those jetpack assburners had in place, and killed a bitch who had a port I really wanted to dock inside.

He still kept chasing after me even after the days of Order 66.

Is there a problem with Legion/Shatterpoint minis having oversized heads? I played a demo game yesterday with a friend and while I didn't want to be a dick by commenting on it, the infantrymen who didn't have helmets seemed to have distractingly huge heads. I checked the shop and they seem normal there, so maybe it was some old miscast, or just a single unit?

It's complicated.
Older Legion minids have heroic proportions with a slightly bigger head and yaoi hands to make them stand out more. It shouldn't be that noticeable though, maybe he used custom 3d printed heads or from a game with a different scale.
Newer minis tend to have more normal proportions, and Shatterpoint models are normal besides ttheir use of a more ccartooniish design overall.
Aanother issue with Legion is that some vehicles are scaled differently and older minis were shorter, so pilots and older characters can kinda look like manlets when next to newer characters.

Green: advanced good guy
Orange: fool's gold kyber crystal

So I recently finally finished Andor S2- what did people here think of it?

I noticed early on the outrage industry wokespotters were trying to kick up a fuss that it went too far for including a sexual assault scene, but that seemed to get shouted down by all the praise later on.

I think my only note is, I would have removed the word rape used in the dialogue, since I feel that takes you out of it a bit. Like Star Wars is about Child Soldiers and Droid Slavery, but I find it better that they don't have to explicitly point that out, it's on the audiences dumb ass to not need it pointed out.

The first arc was overtly alluded to modern day politics, namely MeToo and immigration. It was the weakest arc out of all of them for that, and for not really having much impact on the rest of the season. We don't see much more of Mon Mothma's family after this, so that goes nowhere. The "you need papers to be here thing" never comes up again. We see Yavin as a place where a group of dumb and divided group of rebels got stranded, but the next time we see it it's already the functional rebel base we saw in the movies. The TIE Avenger prototype is never again referenced. The only things that happen in this arc that have any impact later on are the death of that one friend of his, Mon Mothma starting to not trust Luthien over her friends assassination, and the beginning of the Ghorman situation. That's it.

The rest of the season was MUCH better and far less political, and that's not a coincidence.

With how little time they had I feel both characters were in this weird in-between where they are technically important but don't really do shit. We're told they both work for Luthen like Cassian but the way it's shown is awkward.
Bix's PTSD from torture arc felt kinda drawn out, while Wilmon lauding Luthen on Yavin feels undeserved since they never interact. I think having her go with Cassian to Ghorman (to show her work for Luthen, interact with Cassian and give her a reason for wanting Cassian to stay with the Rebellion) and give more time for Wilmon to work for Luthen before being sent to Saw would serve the plot better.

It's been many years since, but i ran multiple campaigns with different systems, d20, saga, and edge of empire (for EoE campaign only like 5 sessions maybe). Honestly I don't understand the mechanics of how edge of empire is supposed to work, at the time i used my judgement but we still seemed to have decent fun with that one. Saber color being a reflection of disposition is pretty cool, and OC DONUT STEEL colors are fine as long as the character has something to back it up with. One early novelization of Return had Luke's saber turn red in Vader's hands, which is a neat visual way of having battle reveal a character's true colors.

I think you're reading into it too much. You can complain it doesn't advance the plot, but I think that that's more a consequence of how they condensed several planned seasons into the show.

I think I'd more complain that Bix following the attempted rape doesn't immedietely enter her 'radicalized rebel arc' and that doesn't kick in until a few conversations with Luthen and Andor. I think she should be in permanent 'KILL KILL KILL' mode after that scene + the death of Brasso, rather than entering a depressed druggie state. Not that that's unrealistic, I just think it would be more compelling. I think it's also a scene the helps demonstrate why the Empire is bad- it's not JUST bad because it's owned by a space-wizard. It's bad because corruption is endemic in the system, since if someone can't address grievances of abuses of authority, then people will abuse that authority even without it being on the Emperor's behalf. I doubt he much cares if his officers rape people, but that's the point. He's destroyed the ability for his guys to be held accountable.

At what point Empire started forcefully retiring/phasing out Clones? In both New Canon and Legends (Did Empire even did that in Legends? I recall a 501's trooper from old Battlefront II served up to Galactic Civil War)

It happens in the Bad Batch series. Palpatine announces to the senate that the clone programme has been disbanded and they’ll be replaced by stormtroopers. So about a year maybe after Revenge of the Sith.

I doubt that they'd need to with their advanced aging. Eventually most Clones would need to retire by the time of the Rebellion with only a few dedicated holdouts maybe still donning the Stormtrooper Armor. Maybe a few get relegated to sweet spot desk-jobs or support roles.

I imagine most of the transfer occurred when the Clones were given pensions, and thus a retirement opportunity- IE they were no longer entirely reliant on the military. It seems in Bad Batch that they retained Clone Divisions in their armor, while simply raising new Stormtrooper Divisions to make up for the shortfall of troops from Clones retiring or defecting. I imagine at a separate date they gave down an order for a swap from old Clone War Gear to Imperial Classic gear, which would likely create the next largest wave of voluntary retirements as I imagine this would reduce esprit de corps of Clone Divisions.

The seperate question might be when Clone Trooper Divisions were disbanded and folded into regular Stormtrooper Divisions, which presumably at the latest would have happened as Clone Divisions loose cohesive combat potential due to advanced aging. Clones that were still under ten (20 in clone years and thus of fighting age) at the time that Kamino was shut down would make up for a shortfall, but only for so long. Hence likely they would be folded into regular or perhaps specialty divisions (my theory on Death Troopers is they are holdover Clones)/

The directive seems to be more to place the bulk of the military into the hands of Stormtroopers, while Clone Divisions continue to operate in the meantime.

Clone Troopers are phased out over a year after the end of the Clone Wars in favor of the Stormtrooper program. However, the Empire trained the last batches of clones (or some really unlucky ones ended up as experiments) and integrated them into various parts of the military. Older veteran clones were phased out. Up to what we can assume is 15 BBY, there were still clone stormtrooper divisions until they were fully consolidated into the Stormtrooper Corps. I wouldn't say OP, but CIS is by far the most forgiving faction for a new-ish player to pilot, and one of the hardest to play against as a new player.
With their coordinate keyword they usually get great order control, they are less susceptible to suppression, and a lot of their units are very tanky for their points (B2s, BXs, Magnas, Droidekas, Aqua droids, AAT, Snail tank and Crabs are all pretty tough)
As a Rebel player their are some ways to deal with them
>MPL-57 Rebel Troopers and M-45+Rocket Landspeeders
Ion will fuck up droids really hard, and Impact helps with the armor.

They are a cheap source of Impact to deal with armor, and good range can usually keep them out of trouble

Big dice pools will get through any defense

That can mean Tauntauns, Wookiees. Fleet troopers or a hero like Luke, Ahsoka or Din Djarin. These will usually make short work of Droidekas.
Part of it also depends on your opponent's list. It's important to focus on their hard hitting units when possible.

The way I saw it, the rule for Jedi is you can use the force however you want, so long as the force isn't doing the killing.

If you use the force to throw your lightsaber at someone, then the lightsaber does the killing. Use it to push someone off a cliff? The fall kills them. Use it to crush a Droid? Well Droids aren't people so they don't count. But use it to force-choke someone? Then you are using your connection to the oneness of the universe to directly hurt someone, and that's a no-no.

So I guess in theory force-lightning is okay to jump-start a car, but you can't really use it to actually hit someone.

In terms of Andor's story though, there's no point lingering on it. Ghorman was a shitshow where Luthen won, the Rebellion grew stronger, but it made a wedge between him and Andor. I can imagine it may have been a recurring plot point had they made multiple seasons and for that, I'm glad it ended up as two. Too many shows overstay their welcome and lose punch in their messaging. Andor would have probably been no different, even with a competent team behind it.

Maybe in the early-mid 90s era EU, but by the mid 2000s clone Stormtroopers were considered a common site in the old EU, pic related (Star Wars: Empire #35 from 2005). It's set circa 6 months after Yavin and the Imperial Officer is Janek Sunber, aka Luke's friend 'Tank'.

A lot of that stuff was based on the presumption that clones were the enemies of the Republic in the "Clone Wars". That said, it wasn't too hard to work things out. The cloning process described in the prequels had a relatively huge ramp-up time (10+ years to get an army project underway, with clones needing half the time of a normal human to reach adulthood), compared to what was described in the Thrawn trilogy. It could be the case that it was understood to work in the sense of producing good soldiers in moderate numbers, but was still ineadequate for the Empire's long-term intentions. After the formation of the Empire and especially after the Kaminoan rebellion, the Empire started cloning from a variety of new templates at different locations. There are a couple Vader short stories where he vets a bunch of potential clone templates.

I have had a great time both running and playing that system. It's surprisingly crunchy for something meant to lean towards narrative gameplay. Mods for equipment really go all out in letting you make your gear unique. The biggest drawback is just people having to get used to non-number results (and having to get ahold of special dice if you aren't willing to use an online roller), and that passes pretty quickly. I personally don't like some of the more "mother-may-I" parts of the rules (such as being able to say you brought along some random piece of equipment by flipping a Destiny point) and if you're planning on playing flying starfighters you're gonna need some house rules, but overall it really complements the tone of the setting.

I don't think the hallway scene was particularly overindulgent. It showed Vader living up to his reputation of being a terrifying opponent, but doesn't really show him doing anything we haven't seen Jedi or Sith do before. He deflects blasters shots with his lightsaber, uses telekinesis to yank weapons off the rebel troopers' hands and throws people at the walls and ceiling. All of that is something you'd expect a powerful Force-user to be able to do.
If you want some real Vader-wank, look at the comics, where he's shown pulling off some superhero-level bullshit. Killing a dozen revel troopers in a hallway is tame compared to that.

My issue is that there's not that much variety in character builds; you just go down the same list grabbing the same talents as everyone else. Your smuggler-scoundrel will be the same as my smuggler-scoundrel, for example.
Force users are the only ones with more options since they can spend their xp on force powers instead of being limited to their career trees.
And multiclassing is super expensive so you won't see it often

The Krennic scene got a lot of shit for it's writing back in the day, but it was misplaced. The writing was fine, what was wrong was that Vader sounded thin and frail due to JEJ's delivery. It sucks, but sometimes characters age out of roles. They would have been better off using one of their other Vader actors and editing his voice.

Empire clones at least in old EU were not as well maintained or as well trained as Jango Clones. While Jango clones were aged rapidly it still took around 10 years for them to be fully grown/trained. I've been thinking about DMing a game that takes place "somewhere" in the starwars galaxy, the players are jedi establishing their own temple & deciding what's important to their player council. I'd encourage freedom of expression so players can be whoever they want, not required to be a jedi. Once i was doing a game, i had a player who wanted to be a gungan and everyone was like "oh nooo", but i was like "why not?" he managed to do the comic relief role perfectly, when his character spoke he did the gungan voice like a voice actor (this guy is like voice-actor good too) god help me it was hilarious, i loved seeing a Gungan with a jetpack flying around doing rescue operations alongside the more serious player heroes, sometimes things can be lightened up with a laugh, there's room for all kinds of characters.

I'm looking to consolidate my X-Wing collection while there is still a nonzero amount of 1.0 stuff out there. I feel like the game ran best up to about wave 4/5, and was still okay until about wave 7 (TLT notwithstanding). Probably going to focus on ships up to wave 4 with a few of the things I already have from later thrown in. I played some 2.0 and hated it, 2.5 looked like a complete clusterfuck from the outside and I didn't want to buy things a third time. I like points values printed on cards and list building out of the box. Tournament players are what killed 1.0 so "its better for tournament play" doesn't win me over. I do acknowledge I hold the minority view on this and don't want to flame others for holding the majority view, but I don't like said view personally.
