>New Superman movie is out
>It’s alright
>Gunn resisted his quipping instincts and let the new Superman actor be a relatively sincerely wholesome guy
>Lex is ridiculously petty, maybe 0.4 Gohanposters
>The main problem is the pacing and the writing being kind of a weird mess. Gunn put all his out of place, tension-breaking humour in what should’ve been the big dramatic moments and sweeping panning shots; it’s similar to Doctor Strange 1, and the other heroes or support characters suffer from either Gunn-isms or being sidelined. Lex’s actor honestly feels like he’s saving the character from his own lines sometimes
>CGI is excessive, very immersion breaking often, sometimes does a solid job of feeling like a Superman movie. Super science being utterly commonplace instead of having any concessions to realism is great
>Oh yeah and for those who care, Supergirl shows up in the credits scene and is the blonde from House of the Dragon who got diddled by her uncle
Huh. It’s definitely not my thing, but it’s so much less bad than what I feared that I can appreciate that it could be someone else’s, warts and all. Definitely a movie to get a summer beer with.
Post Superman-focused jump builds?
>>96045122I would make a build but I'm lazy. Instead, know I did have one laying around somewhere where I was a Kryptonian superhero with clone powers in Teen Titans.

>>96045392Just Another Person from Genshin Impact.
>>96045337Sounds plausible, two of those are all anyone seems to talk about the jump though I don't remember the Speedforce being from there. You sure you're not thinking of Kingdom Come for that one?
>From now on, you have a significantly easier time in determining ways strange or unusual creatures can be used to make day to day tasks easier or more efficient. So long as specific creatures (not species of creature) aren’t causing problems for the locals, they will find your use of them quirky at worst.
>Additionally, as you continue to use strange creatures to assist you in a manner that is both public and positive for the local community, the locals will gradually grow more accepting and less fearful of the kind of creatures you are using. If you are a strange creature yourself, then your own actions of this type will trigger this same effect. For the purposes of this effect, the assistance of a single Pokémon species works to improve the perception of all species of Pokémon.
Do you know any good alternatives to the Bridge Builder perk from Legends Arceus?
Or any other good perks for making peace and harmony between hostile groups?
>>96045400Seems so.

miffed anon here, I have enough time to tweak my Dr who jump slightly (again) but not enough to totally redo it
I’ll be tweaking it (including dropping the initial point total, since at this point I care less about my own enjoyment and more about anons who like Dr Who getting a jump that gives them options) and uploading the tweaked version to the bunker as a v1.1 soonish
can’t add/subtract any upgrades because that’d entail redoing the entire image, which I don’t have time for right now, but I’m open to some suggestions on tweaking cost
So far the ideas for 1.1 are just
>1000CP for Jumper, 800 for companions
>Bumping up the price of timeless child to 1000, probably
>possibly tweaking companion wording to allow for more options
If there’s anything else that can be fixed by lightly tweaking words that you want me to see lmk. I’ve got like one or two hours and then I’ve gotta go again so please be quick if you care
>>96045800>Bumping up the price of timeless child to 1000, probablyWhy? Y-you do realise the way the Alien option is currently priced, you can be something a gajillion times more deadly than the Timeless Child was ever wanked to be, right? Like, the Time Lords did not have a lot of trouble torturing the regenerations out of the Timeless Loli.
>>96045824>Why?With the price it’s at now, it’s kind of a drawback *not* to take it. Yeah, it’s monkey’s paw immortality at best, but it’s still immortality
I’m also considering 900 since time lords already cost 1000 but the point is that I want to bump up its price so that other options become more viable
>>96045834*100 not 1000. I’m not touching the price of the time lords lmao
And yes, I know the alien species can give you something way more powerful. I’m sticking to my reasoning of “90% of the people playing the CYOA won’t know that” and treating it more as a reward for knowing the series well than as a balancing thing
>>96045834...I'm going to be honest with you. In the context of Dr. Who.
A series that has at several different junctions (12's imprisonment in Rassilon's labyrinth, the Doctor himself, Ashildr, the Solitract, the Master's poor human wife he took to see the end of the fucking universe to break her into subservience) explored why immortality can be as much a burden as a source of endless wonder.
I think 600 CP is fine desu. I mean look at it this way it's just "you get shot but you get back up" immortality, it's not the kind of immortality that lets you shrug off torture, imprisonment etc so like even a gang of Sontarans could contain you indefinitely if for some reason you take the perk as a non-Time Lord. If you were to make a 1000 CP Time Lord perk (and I'm not saying you should) I'd probably theme it around the Doctor's sometimes-mentioned status as the champion of Time herself (or some other Eternal like Death in the Master's case) that is essentially a technobabble-themed form of plot armour that explains why the Doctor/Master get shit done more than most of the other Time Lords combined.
I still think it's really funny the most powerful thing in the jump is companion purchases so I can just buy one of my daughterus into 6 bigger-than-universe-sized-vampires
>>96045868nuh uh, if you don't accept that immortality is unconditionally the greatest thing ever, and can never be bad, you're probably a Japanese light novel writer!
>>96045800>I can't fix it because I decided to start with a fixed format first before posting for reviewDon't want to be too harsh but this is entirely a problem you made for yourself, especially since this is your first jump.

>>96045868>the most powerful thing in the jump is companion purchasesFriendship is magic, after all :P
As for the rest of the post: fair enough? I know the series has explored the burden plenty hell writing about that stuff myself is a genuine past-time of mine, but I’m once again trying to account for those only casually familiar with the series at the same time.
Although, I’m realizing now, dropping the initial point total already makes Timeless Child more expensive. Instead of being a little over half of your point total, it’s now almost 2/3 when accounting for the Time Lord species too (+ you can’t buy exact regeneration to dampen its effects nearly as easily; it’ll require at least one drawback). Would you say that’s fair pricing?
>>96045891nah, you’re not being harsh, I know it’s a self-made problem lol. I still think it was worth it but yeah I agree that it’s made editing very hard. I was just giving a heads-up since I know this kind of tweaking is way easier for text-based stuff and not everyone knows I made an image first and text second
>>96045893>2/3I mean I wasn’t trying to think too hard about the irregular point stipend because it’s, well, irregular, but also yeah it’s hard to argue with that logic.
Uh.
Anyway, if those are all the choices I guess I’ll just go back to enjoying being the closest thing in the setting to a version of God who can’t lose to the Celestial Toymaker, ruling over a sixfold set of predatory realities that are individually the one thing during the founding of Time Lord society that made the Lords shit and piss themselves enough to build an entire type of ship specifically to counter them, except these ones also have purchases of Timeless Child left over from their CP stipends which I guess means on top of the usual advantages of being a sentient nightmare cosmos and given the implications about regeneration means they can freely mix and match morphologies that even other Doctor Who eldritch horrors find incomprehensible and (going by 11 blasting the Dalek mothership once merely given a new set of regenerations) explode advanced Whoniverse technology merely by venting lifeforce from their arbitrary nightmare topologies at it.

>>96046046>canon-wrecking revelationWell, judging from recent events my options are to either insist MY OC additions to the Whoniverse and MINE alone are not only the be-all end-all of the entire setting, but have always been such to the extent of rewriting other characters until they have barely anything to do with their concepts. Or applying 3 out of the 6 following templates to a random character: Disabled, gay, horny, fabulous, British blonde, the key to the universe’s fate.

I can't imagine it's any legitimate policy at this point, so I'm just left confused
>>96048781There were at least a few people saying it wasn't good too. It's not like there is a vote system or specific people you need to impress. It's not a jump I personally like, but I don't really care if it makes it to the drive or not either.
>>96048781nta but I'd 100% bet it's just someone trolling.
>>96048895I'm certain it is, I'm just completely baffled that someone would be willing to troll for nearly half a month straight. I originally submitted version 1 on June 28th, and it's almost July 10th. It's been a week and a half, and it'll be two weeks this Sunday. I've submitted it to the Drive several times now, and I'm struggling to reconcile the idea of someone repeatedly checking the new jump folder for an entire week and a half straight to continuously delete the thing. If this is just trolling, it's very strangely dedicated.
>>96048871There was one guy I was negotiating with, yes, who suggested some nice changes like tweaking the point total and making a text-only version. He was fine with it after I finished those, though, and 90% of other peoples' complaints fell either into "I don't want to read an image" or "you're giving out too many points, change to 1000 or give an item stipend."
I've fixed those both by now, by lowering the initial CP amount and making a text-only version for those who don't want to use the image, and I didn't see any other complaints I didn't already fix, so again I'm mostly just confused lol.
Oh well, I guess? I'm not going to give up. If people like Who, they should get to have a Jump that lets them do more in Who than just trail behind the Doctor.

that and I was upset I couldn't have a decent Who jump to do because I quite like the series haha
>>96049003Yeah that's what I was thinking, especially since they didn't read it, but I did change the name. I'm not sure what else to do to make it obvious that it's a new version. Add a giant obnoxious "NEW" tag to the front? That'd mess with sorting, and probably stop being true within like a month or something.
Really unsure, idk. Sorry for blabbing so much about this stuff, I hope I'm not complaining much or being too annoying.

Chainbutt: you get a chain, and so does every other person who's made a build for Jumpchain. Jump-chan was even nice enough to set up an interdimensional Jumper forum for everyone to communicate (perks/cognitohazards/similar shit is neutralized on the forum).
The catch? Every jumper can only take 4 companions, every jumper can only take canon characters as companions, and once a character has been companioned by ANY jumper, no other Jumper can take them as a companion. Jump-chan wanted a bit of competition there for funsies. At any time, you can check the Jumper forum to see if any specific character has been companioned. Standard Jumpchain rules apply otherwise.
With that rule in mind, where would you start your chain and who would you try to companion?

>>96050647Tricky stuff involving ambiguously-powerful non-strictly Supernal entities like fiddling with a Qashmallim tends to require 2 Arcana, so I’d say Prime and Spirit like the other guy. But yeah, as long as the appropriate Quintessence can be located it should be doable.
>>96051211>yesThere is an upper bound to what nWoD Archmasters can do. It’s not clear what it is, but it’s there because the ones who got up first do not entirely dominate the Supernal, have not killed off all the Supernal gods, and have been defied by the True Fae (fate/time warping deities in their own right) simply paradoxing themselves back from being erased from history.
Lifting the Great Curse should be WELL within a reasonably competent archmaster’s capabilities given an Abyssal can just kind of go on a vague redemption quest to lift it, it isn’t shown to be particularly taxing for the Sun, and it’s been stated Lytek could do it if he knew it was there (and if all his tools were in place, ideally). But there is an upper bound, in the sense that there are things Time Lords or Infinity Gems can’t do.
>>96051626>Lytek could do it if he knew it was thereHe does know, remember?

Tech or magic can push you up this scale but doesn't necessarily. Depends if the tech or magic can compensate for your body if your body is weak. Oppenheimer and Megumin are not "mid-level" just cause they respectively know how to make a nuke and can fire a nuke. The ability to pull it out on the fly and survive is also a must. What would a fairy with The Strongest Fairy and Elder Youkai be like in Touhou Forbidden Hermit?
The Strongest is obviously a Cirno perk, but I'm curious about what it'd be like if a Faiy also gets the Youkai capstone.
>The Strongest Fairy (-400): You are The Strongest (fairy). Your natural fairy abilities have reached their peak. An ice fairy with this perk could freeze a whole lake over, a rain fairy could bring a fierce thunderstorm instead of a drizzle. It’s recommended you don’t go boasting about being the strongest unless you want to start something with the current (self-proclaimed) Strongest.
>Elder Youkai (-600): You aren’t a new kid on the block, no ma’am. You’re likely more than a thousand years old and all your innate racial abilities have reached their peak. A kitsune youkai will have a full nine tails. So strong, in fact, you could easily win battles by complete accident, let alone seriously trying to fight. Furthermore, if your race has a natural weakness, you’ve come to suppress it. For example, an oni would no longer suffer a psychological compulsion to avoid roasted basedbeans or be blistered by them and could happily snack on some without ill effects. As you are blatantly stronger than your peers, you will receive the respect-slash-fear your nature fully deserves by your fellow youkai. As a side benefit, the oldest youkai are universally incredibly polite, and you are always capable of couching anything from death threats to idle conversation in the politest possible terms without obscuring your meaning.

Who technically aren't Forgotten Realms gods, because their from outside Ao's domain, and also literally the Egyptian and Mesopotamian gods from a D&D version of Earth.
>So why are they in the Forgotten Realms?Because long ago a civilization for the Forgotten Realms had a habit of kidnapping people from outside that cosmos for slave labor. While somehow also creating a barrier to keep foreign gods out. Followed by those pantheons finding a way past that to help their kidnapped worshipers, and then getting stuck dealing with the realms bullshit.

>>96059500I'm not sure how much more powerful you could make a fairy, to be honest. Cirno being the strongest fairy isn't really hyperbole, she's just too stupid to wield it effectively.
For context, Tan Cirno is a fairy at absolute peak performance-- on par with a main character-- but that required Matara and her followers opening up the door on her back to actualize 100% of her potential.
Tan Cirno isn't tanned. She's oxidizing.
100% of Cirno's true potential is literally more power than a fairy's body can handle, the browning of her skin being her body getting fucking disintegrated in slow motion (she's fine; as nature spirits, fairies respawn as long as the natural features that birthed them remain intact)

I’ve never seen my enemies so…weak.
They huddle in the ruins of their own temple when I come upon them. Some affect a total lack of surprise, solemnly proclaiming the turning of eons has reached it’s nadir or somesuch. Others like the hierophant, Cthulhu, realise in horror what I am prepared to do.
I proceed to inflict such torture upon them that all memory of the Necrophosis flees their flayed, incinerated, ontologically castrated existences. They are [cut] apart into screaming lesser entities forced to fight each other, to mutilate each other, to destroy each other into even smaller lesser things. They are forced to drink deep the White Chlorination Syndrome, and their true names are turned inside out. Metaphysical singularities condemn their particles to miserable ignominy.
Eventually, I move on. In my wake, the sky fills with golden clouds and the ground blooms with lush greenery. Uncompromising and unmerciful, the beauty of Heaven and Eden alike imposes itself on this accursed world-sweeping out past dimensions and blind eternities, rewriting some and subsuming others as I force the world to conform to my base nature the long, hard way.
The mortal creatures of this world have a brief moment of rapture before they are granted the mercy of sublimation into timeless harmony.
1/3
>>96060066The King in Yellow stutters as I face him, watching each and every crawling thing beseeching my mercy have flowers of golden flame and leaves of light sprout upon their forms. His threats and prophecies die on his tongue as I lay a hand on him, as I sever the sympathetic connections between himself and his iconography
As I take off his mask.
And pour molten adamant down the hole.
As his body melts from the inside with heat great enough to scorch all the stars from the sky.
Some of the non-deific are transformed utterly beyond recognition, their very concepts reconfigured from wizened merchant and tortured king into spirits of light and order. Others are simply absorbed by the coming perfect. Still others are granted the mercy of dissolution.
Not the Outer Gods and Great Old Ones, though. Their blasphemous wisdom and eldritch wills prove futile over the eons, as I exert exacting punishment after exacting punishment on them. Shug-Niggurath is castrated then force-fed her own young. Ithaqua’s carcass is cast into the heart of an eternally dying star. Tsathoggua has a frame of thorns grown into him and set alight-torn apart by microfractures over and over again.
Eventually, a wanderer is born.
Eventually, he takes his first step into a world of blinding geometries and timeless harmony.
2/3
>>96060072And in that moment, I tell him “be at peace”, and the last hope of the Outer Gods is snuffed out. And he disappears into petals.
And at last, at long last, I man the great machine that will reignite all creation. Sacrificing less than a third of all that I am (thanks to that one duel terminal perk that makes me an ideal sacrifice) to ignite the event that should have remade the cosmos I have already eternalised. There is neither need or possibility of changing what I have done.
Instead, suffused with my power it has a new function: To erase the Outer Gods retroactively, rendering them nothing but screaming matrixes of quantum potentiality, their calcified and rotten existences reduced to ideas and compressed into each other outside all interaction with existence.
A dream of eternal degradation haunting a paradise.

... Personally I'd go for a different kind of vampire. The Sims 4's ones are pretty decent and can eventually become sun immune. What We Do in The Shadow's vampires are incredibly versatile and it's a pretty good jump to start a chain based on getting turned into a vampire. And I know sims vampires are a thread favorite but man when I think of vampire I do not think of the sims. Thats just a me thing though.

>Multi-Dimensional Intersection (+200): Whether using the Second Magic or the right Authority there are certainly methods to travel beyond this World, the former being the way the King of Steel arrived and how his lover hopes to return him, so it should not be a huge surprise that other worlds might offer their own methods and bring in their own troubles as well. Perhaps another World Line of Shirou’s home World may arrive with its greater prevalence of magical vampires, the Mages of Fairy Tail might show up to cause lots of property damage in battle, some Hollows coming to eat people with the Shinigami in pursuit, powerful ninja from the Elemental Nations scouting a space time disturbance, and many more possibilities alongside them could potentially appear. Fortunately such events would be exceedingly unlikely unless someone did something reckless, someone just like you! Each time you take this another World will somehow intersect with this one during your time here, bringing trouble and conflict which you’ll invariably get dragged into; most likely causing an extended problem on both sides meaning a trip to another World too. You may take this multiple times but it can only give CP at most twice, with any further just adding more troubles and adventures with no further compensation for the ever-increasing mess. While a Campione or God should be extremely powerful by the standards of any World which might intersect those that you encounter with this will have forces able to challenge them, possibly ones that could dwarf them should you dig too deep in the wrong places or get too comfortable in your strength.

Thoughts? Which would your jumper choose?
>>96068936I think it was this, from Gato Roboto.
OBJECTIVE: SURVIVE
[You will be given the “Biotech Genius” perk for the duration]
Long before Kiki and Gary crash-landed on the Research Facility, the Scientist was forced to work on inhumane research for the government in an attempt to gain an advantage in their military, under the guise of “Galactic Security”. Unfortunately his best friend and pet, Barkley the dog, was sick with a disease with no known cure, and in a fit of desperation he used all the resources given for the project to instead search for anything to alleviate his pet’s condition. This put him in opposition to the Galactic Government as a whole.
Should you take this scenario, you will be placed into the shoes of said Scientist after his treachery was known. Unlike him, the Government will not simply accept a blackout of the station to assume your death, and will hunt you down to keep their secrets safe. Your goal is to obtain some form of cease-fire, most likely gained through force. Optionally [and hopefully] you can find a cure of some kind for your pet, which is an animal of your choice.
Should you complete this task, you will be awarded the following:
The “Biotech Genius” perk, or be refunded its cost if purchased prior.
The entirety of the Research Facility, with any of its upgrades made during the scenario kept as its baseline. [Will respawn in a week if destroyed]
Your pet, should you have completed the optional objective, shall join you as either a follower or companion. [Your choice]

>>96070164Oh. Neither then.
>>96069682Couldn't that just be abused to stay out of the world of GSBW and thereby potentially avoid the consequences of various drawbacks?
>>96070323Not really, there are two drawbacks that can get you stuck in another world. The one that adds another world to the mess and one that gets you summoned for a grail war. Neither of them have set starting points at the beginning of the jump, they simply happen at some point during the jump.
The other drawbacks will either get rolling before you get stuck going to another world and/or literally just follow you to the other worlds. Whatever method they follow you by would indeed be a potential way back home for that matter, but you're going to have to grab onto that for yourself.
Essentially escaping a drawback via going to another world is just not a very effective strategy, leaving under your own power is slightly better since you could do it faster but the bigger ones will most likely find a way to follow you and running from the smaller ones is honestly just flat out losing to them; a major strategic victory on the part of the mage organization who'd normally be expected to be a large pain in the ass then die horribly once you get your hands on them instead gets to run you out of the World and survive the 'conflict'.
Also it's not guaranteed that you won't just have a way back as part of the Drawback induced quest hook, a full on stable portal linking the two worlds together is a possible form for such a crossover mess; just not a guaranteed free ride home specifically for you.

>>96072689I agree, the problem is with enough perks it's kinda... "It is what it is". I would say that this is the very nature of jumpchain to an extent. Every 10 years you will jump to another entirely different reality unless you took drawbacks to increase the amount of years you stay. Meanwhile, in like 100 jumps 100 CP is enough to buy a perk that allows you to be completely immune against mental damage and always recover. You could be abducted by orcs and raped for 1 year straight, come out and be like "guess that happened". Not only that.
But I think that the powers you get and retain from other realities make you basically impossible to contain or for something bad to happen to you. Because your line of superpower or magic operates under completely different rules. So it's actually extremely hard to capture you or get you into a situation where something bad could happen to you. Once you have even a cheap teleportation power you are for all intents and purposes unable to be captured. I just personally think that logically writing being captured and tortured and something bad happening to jumper is kinda impossible 10 jumps in. Like you have to be thrown into the warp or some shit like that. Companions are always ressurected 3 days after they die. The power of ressurection is abundant. Mental projection perks are cheap as fuck. Mental illness, rape trauma etc can retroactively be erased by perks. This medium is honestly inherently a power fantasy unless you specifically kneecap yourself. Even mid powered jumps give you so many godlike meta powers. Always lucky, charisma, skilled, 1ups etc.

Cowboy Bebop, GunBuster, Star Trek has dolphins iirc although they might just be naturally sapient in that universe given the fucking Whale Probe, My Hero Academia (Nezu kinda counts?), Outlaw Stars has a couple cats, CATastrophe technically, Judge Dredd has done it to monkeys, most cape settings, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Revelation Space (probably), Discworld has rats gain sentience from eating magic junk, Lord of Light has the full reincarnation tech stuff, Endless Legends probably counts I think a bunch of the species there kinda jumped the ladder due to Dust, Fallout has sentient Deathclaws ane Mole Rats, Overwatch (moon monkeys), RimWorld, Stellaris, XCom (I think the aliens kinda count but could be wrong on that as they were probably all sentient before the Elders got to them)
>>96078950>Judge Dredd has done it to monkeysWhy do I get the feeling that this was specifically so that they could prosecute them?
>>96072689I try, but by god is it hard after the first few Jumps. Even limiting myself to pretty low-power stuff, there's no way you're not going to have some kind of house-destroying magic and immunities to basic inconveniences by Jump 10 that can easily negate most threats
>>96078950Unfortunately most of these don't have options for it even where it would make sense - it was actually removed from Stellaris in an update, for some reason. From what I can find only Eclipse Phase and Fallout 2 have them, though that's enough for me.
>>96078739Doesn't D&D have a spell for that?
>>96079142It's actually a Pathfinder spell. It turns animals into furries

>>96079114>it was actually removedOn the logic that you shouldn't need to pay CP for a research tech that you can fairly easily get in game.
>>96079114CATastrophe should, one of the items was a bunch of drinks that would uplift animals that drank them. Although I think the version we have on our drive is actually the prior update rather than the one that contained them
>>96079037>genetic experiments resulted in a group of monkeys as intelligent as humans that speak English, and who were eventually given human rights and their own ghetto in Mega-City One. Some of them went on to form a criminal gang. Uplifted apes also appear in the Dreddverse series Insurrection. Originally a servile class in an ex-terrestrial mining colony, they join the mutants and robots (also slaves) alongside the human Judges in rebellion against Mega-City One.

Adolla Touched – 600 CP
[...] With this, you can grant living beings extended (or even indefinite) lifespans, gift even the lowliest of animals with sapient thought and the capacity for speech, or create verdant oases in the midst of an inhospitable wasteland. You could even act as a source of Grace for Ignition users with an Adolla Burst, allowing them to wield Fourth Generation abilities. All of this is fuelled by your life force, so be careful about overexerting yourself: while each individual blessing may only require a small expenditure, they may well add up over time.
