I just bought a box of pre-Leviathan Terminators and Assault Terminators. I have no desire to build a full 2000pts army since I already have over 2000pts of Firstborn DAs and 2000pts worth of Primaris UM on sprues.
Still, I like these goofy dudes and I want to do something fun and relaxing with them. I'm thinking about building a 1000pts !st Company army with nothing but Terminators, Veterans and HQs.
What Chapter should I pick for this? I'm thinking about Raven Guard since their colour-scheme looks sick on 1st Company dudes.

Deathwatch filters people because they have really cool unique kill teams that don't have premade kits. If you want to run https://wahapedia.ru/wh40k10ed/factions/space-marines/Indomitor-Kill-Team for example, you need to get an Inceptors kit, and Aggressors kit and a Heavy Intercessors kit. Thats 3 kits to run one units. And two deathwatch upgrade sprue (if you are dumb enough not to get them 3D printed or recasted) for all the pauldrons you need. And each Deathwatch unit comes from a different chapter, meaning it appeals really heavily to people who put a lot of love into each individual mini. It's a hobbyist's army first. The resurrection of Deathwatch was one of the best things GW did this edition, surprising after how they treated Beastmen in AoS.

Real tempted to rock this kit as a burny marines force. Judicars fights first with overwatch. The deep striking plasma dudes getting +1str to their plasma on objective hunting. Str6 flamer weapons wounding most things on 5+ until toughness 12. Apothecaries bringing back dead plasma marines that fire on death and have Assault on their weapons to plink at 24".

I'm a little foggy on the leadership, is the Justicar's LD of 5 trasmitted to the unit they're in?

I might go less leader heavy and shove both Vets+JP using flame and having plasma inceptors for a variety of firepower on landing.

Also if I could somehow pin the pistol types on the vets I could have more plasma shots to work with inside the points cost. 10 at 190pts instead of 12 at 240 pts. 18 wounds possible with inceptors, 20 with the vets. Maybe twin-linked for tank hunting is best though, if that was the case I could imagine the melta pistol option for the vets being better for that. It really is a matter of practice, your skills will absolutely improve rapidly if you put a little effort in. Everyone here had crappy first models but it's rare for them to stay crappy. Besides which, stripping the paint off a model to try again is much easier than most would assume.

We are starting at 600 points since we got 2 newer players. Anyway with that in mind I’ve made a backstory on why my nids are on Armageddon. And that helped generate the list.
