I believe the logo is probably Pinnacle's (it resembles a mountain, etc.) The beam is trying to cut through the food because nothing else has worked, but all it did was cut the plate and lightly singe the food. It's a joke on how absurdly dense it is.

The problem with nu-mtg is the reliance on Commander gimmicks and the overpowered low mana cost creatures which have been in the game since Mirrodin. High Power/Toughness and lots of abilities should come with a high mana cost like Exalted Angel or Hypnox. If the mana cost is low, it should come with a drawback like jackal pup or skittering skirge.

You know what? I know it's trendy to hate on WotC (and there's a lot of good reason to do so) but I'm actually excited for EoE. I love space shit and I love fantasy shit and the more I look into the story the more interesting the whole setting becomes to me. Probably helps that I'm not triggered by culture war shit.

He'll never use them to do anything, because if he loses or damages a single part of it the "completeness" of the collection is lost and thus the entire point in owning it. He bought them so he can say he has every magic card, and nothing more. They'll stay on that shelf in those boxes in perpetuity unti he dies and his kids sell them off.

The best part is that to maintain the completeness of the collection, he has to get at least 1 copy of every new card that's released from now on. Otherwise he'll only have every magic card released up until 2025, which sounds much less impressive and won't stroke his ego nearly as much.

White weenie has severely fallen off the last couple of months given how the meta is shaping up. Hell, even Goblins is currently having a rough time as compared to how it was one year ago.
I can't say I care much for the landstill or elves decks though, since they don't really fit my style of play, but that's just keep.

Deadguy Ale, Sligh and The Rock are staple introductory decks to Premodern. They are fairly simple to play and pretty straight-forward, with Sligh being the better out of those 3 in terms of the current meta right now.
Stiflenought and Replenish are two of the best decks in the format (if not the current best) but they actually have a bit of a learning curve, same for Goblins actually, so if you're new to the format, maybe you shouldn't go with those.
Regarding White weenie, much like I said before, it's fallen off a lot recently but it's still a fairly simple deck to play.
Finally, Zombie Spark is just a meme deck really, but fun, I guess.

There's a guy at my LGS with a non proxied premodern battle box. It originally included sligh, but he removed it and used the pieces for other decks because noone would ever pick it for casual games. If you're just printing the cards it's probably not an issue but I don't imagine it will be a popular choice unless there's a guy who really really likes playing burn. You could try mono R control aka raging glaciers, but it's not exactly a common deck

Thought about getting back into it, particularly EDH, and saw the Mothman precon. Couldn't care less about the Fallout tie in, and I'm not big on green in my UB, but I fuckin' love cryptids, especially Mothman. Figured why not try with a commander I'm a fan of.

Why aren't more of the normal set spacecrafts like this, where you play them, tap a couple creatures, and get a pretty strong ability? Maybe even crew it later on, if you're feeling risky. Instead, most of them are just a spell-on-a-stick that you can permanently crew for value afterwards. The only two that come close are the "when you attack, do way too much damage to target creature" and the "your tapped legends are indestructible" ones, which are still mostly just really expensive vehicles.

It gives counters to your opponent creatures when it attacks so it will turn a 1/1 into a 2/2. At 3 power I think its still worse than Ayara's Oathsworn so they increased its power to 4 still a bad attacker on some boards but always an excellent blocker and works with station. The ward was given so it can attack once at least so it can die by combat or you could just used to station without letting your opponent destroy it.

Marang is another option but its not that great on its own, basically a 4 mana +1 card draw spell which is rarely worth using over unholy annex or steaming sauna, it can stabilize the board sometimes at 6 mana but once you hit 6+ you've got plenty of whammies anyway

So if I use Tezzeret's last ability on a spaceship with no charge counters, it becomes a 0/0 creature with three +1/+1 counters

if I then "station" the ship (shouldn't it be crew? how do you station a ship?) with enough charge counters to make it a creature, does its base power/toughness change from 0/0 to what's printed on the card? and then it keeps the +1/1 counters on top of that?

Intuitively that seems like how it should work, but something in the back of my brain is saying it actually might not work that way. The Station text just says "at 4 charge counters this becomes a creature", but it already was a creature, so that doesn't even do anything, and the station text doesn't say anything about having its numbers change when it's stationed

Power and toughness are 'hidden' on non-creatures until they become creatures. They do not have a power or toughness as far as any in-game interaction cares, but their power/toughness still exist as characteristics of the card and can be modified when they are not creatures, which is treated as though it doesn't exist until it becomes a creature

And some cards actually rely on this nonsensical interaction where the game explicitly says non-creatures don't have a power/toughness, yet they still actually have a power/toughness and you continue to track it and its modifiers because they CAN apply once it becomes a creature.
Veteran motorist gives a vehicle +1/+1 when it crews it. But that trigger resolves before the crew ability resolves and the vehicle becomes a creature. So you're giving +1/+1 to a non-creature artifact, which later becomes a creature.

It's surprisingly underwhelming, yeah. Aside from warp (and fucking eldrazi yet again) being probably format breaking, there's not much to be excited for here. It'll be a very uneven limited experience and a handful of chase cards will be the only impact on other formats most likely. Art and flavorwise there are a few hits but even bad sets can usually claim that, and this is certainly looking to qualify for "bad set."

It's really fascinating because as flawed and (rightfully) critiicized as Vehicles were, their introduction stilll provided clear support to get them off the ground. Creatures with bonuses for crewing, spells to auto-crew, servos as a subtheme with the clear intention of using them as crew-fodder. So far the only thing we've seen like that for Station is... Systems Override, which specifically punishes using Spacecraft.
