eoe so far feels dft-tier garbage
>>96047559Please do not say such cruel things about the very good and still on sale at your LGS Hot Wheels set
>>96047602do they have some compulsive need to reprint this every set now?
>>96047559feels like 2-3 absurdly pushed cards next to an overwhelming amount of absolute trash
>>96047602Why the hell we get some meme food in every set?
>>96047602Non-instant noodles.
my favorite leaked card from the new spaceship set
>>96047602The flavor text is how I feel with every new set
>>96047602build a Bloogle
>>96047647Remember when they inadvertently named one of their planes "Niggerworld"
>>96047602That's a second indestructible 1 cost artifact in Standard now. Could it do something interesting? Probably not.
>>96047647Why is it leaking anon?
Kynaios and Tiro, Spacemen {1BB}
Legendary Creature - Human Pilot
Protection from angels
At the beginning of your end step, you may draw a card and reveal it. Each opponent may also draw a card and reveal it. Repeat this process until a player doesn't draw a card this way, or two cards with the same name have been revealed. Then Kynaios and Tiro deal damage to each non-black creature equal to the number of cards revealed this way.
6/9
there I turned it into a black border mechanic
>>96047675no lmfao, now i do though thanks!
>>96047715prolapsed probably
>>96047602The "flavour" of the card is bad but the utility is pretty good. 3 mana for 3 life and a card off of an indestructible artifact...could be a lot worse.
>>96047742>prolapsedIs that a keyword like kicker or horsemanship?
>>96047747I was desperatly waiting for a candy trail artifact, which had better art.
>>96047766Looks like you get to keep waiting.
>>96047714we now have a consistent way to make it into a creture
I just want a good fog card in Standard, is that too much to ask?
>>96047860I just want a good Robot card in Standard, is that too much to ask?
>>96047764yeah it's a keyword once all niggas are gay they become eligible to be Proplapsed, which gives them a toughness bonus of +1 for each gay nigga on the field
>>96047602What the fuck is this art? I understand that it's supposed to look unappetizing, but that's such an artistic slop. And what is this stick under it? What is the beam seemingly lighting it? And what is this logo on the mug? That's not a logo of any faction in set?
I usually scoff at people screaming AI slop, but damn.
>going to modern fnm tonight
>decide to play one or two games on spelltable just to get the rust out
>no one is playing anything there except cummander
bros...?
>>96048013>And what is this stick under it? What is the beam seemingly lighting it?A laser cutter that was able to slice through the table was unable to penetrate the food block.
>>96047714>Diamond>IndestructibleWe knew wotc's nuFags were dumb but I have no Idea how retarded and naive they were.
>>96048013I believe the logo is probably Pinnacle's (it resembles a mountain, etc.) The beam is trying to cut through the food because nothing else has worked, but all it did was cut the plate and lightly singe the food. It's a joke on how absurdly dense it is.
>>96048013>this is the level of comprehension from people complaining about the artno wonder nobody takes you guys seriously
Hey look a 3 mana Spacecraft that deals damage on entry. Makes Crusher look even more baffling.
>>96048148You only had to have it explained because you're an idiot.
>>96048143>buying cards that you can only play one of in only one format.
>>96048148You're just visually or mentally impaired, anon.
Do they think any of these station ass cards is gonna see standard play?
>>96048150Why the hell is this a rare?
IS SHIT
>>96048226No.
I will say it again: No.
>>96048236some of the best card in the set are uncommon, oh the irony
>>96048150I love how the 3 MV aura from EOE is a way better "FTK" than this thing is.
>>96047714>>96048104It's actually kind of amazing that most people are unaware that you can easily shatter diamonds with a hammer. Very hard, but also quite brittle.
A diamond pick-axe would break in one swing, not be indestructible.

>>96048318It deals damage based on the artifacts, hence the robots.

>>96048226No, and they likely made them shit deliberately. Having to design and balance six Standard sets an year now is a lot, so their job is made easier if they just make most of the new mechanics deliberately trash that couldn't possibly be broken. Another anon compared this to Archangel's Light and it's a really fitting comparison.

The problem with nu-mtg is the reliance on Commander gimmicks and the overpowered low mana cost creatures which have been in the game since Mirrodin. High Power/Toughness and lots of abilities should come with a high mana cost like Exalted Angel or Hypnox. If the mana cost is low, it should come with a drawback like jackal pup or skittering skirge.
>>96048533it's a suppository
>>96048514What an absolute retards, give support to fucking Pioneer if you will actually using it a cover for your egregious mistakes faggots.

>>96048533If it's like similar foods of this same trope, you just sort of let it sit in water for an hour and take the tiniest piece possible, then let it SLOWLY dissolve in your mouth.
>>96048609it will come once they release pioneer horizons, there is no escaping it
When EoE releases I'm doing this. I don't care how meme-tier it is, I need to make this work, I need to kill people with this.
>>96048485To be honest most of the playable battle were only played for their front half and you never really cared about transforming them.
>>96048682I have to be honest, I'm just going to warp the 3 mana 9/9 and do various flings.
>>96048707does training grounds work with warp?
>>96048719No, it doesn't impact alternate costs and even if it did it only affects cards in play.
>>96048707I wonder how common it will be to warp and flicker the 9/9 on turn 4. probably better things to be doing with your turn 4 but we'll have to see.
>>96048786Is a turn 4 vanilla 9/9 even... Anything? It's not NOTHING, but it's just stats.
>>96048143this seems like such a nightmare to do now with all of the variants that get printed.
>>96048786Depends on how much flickering there is in limited. If there's not that much, then the eldrazi will probably get flickered more, since at least you get an extra permanent for your trouble. A 9/9 without trample is still just a 9/9.
You know what? I know it's trendy to hate on WotC (and there's a lot of good reason to do so) but I'm actually excited for EoE. I love space shit and I love fantasy shit and the more I look into the story the more interesting the whole setting becomes to me. Probably helps that I'm not triggered by culture war shit.
Also I like how Intersteller's depiction of a black hole has now just become the universally understood "this is what a black hole looks like"
Also interstellar was over 10 years ago fuck me.
>>96048897I don't hate this set, I think it will be on the level of Outlaws/Duskmourne.
Wotc are still a bunch of buffoons.
>still no urborg
i guess it doesn't matter anymore since dark depths seems to be all but dead but it sucks that plc urborg is still a $40 card
>>96048897To my understanding, Interstellar's depiction was at least based on what a black hole SHOULD look like, scientifically speaking. And the actual picture we got of one a few years back wasn't too far off, but Interstellar's is just more "aesthetically interesting".
>>96047714What kind of tardadion is this? Diamonds are exactly as brittle as hard (not to mention flammable.)
>>96048897I don't hate the concept of this set, in fact i can get behind it but... Where the hell are the good cards? I just want playable cards...
>>96048897the black science man told me the black hole in interstellar was scientifically accurate
>>96047602This is pretty funny.
>>96047559It's funny how its two main mechanics, Warp and Station, are on the opposite ends of set mechanics. One of them is elegant, versatile and intuitive, fit for returning in a later set, the other is clunky gimmicky bullshit. Not unlike Exhaust and Start Your Engines, come to think of it.
>>96048897I like the lore and the more basic mechanics in the set, but station seems really goofy.
>>96048317There's several standard-viable battles desu. More if you're willing to go to the fringe, my dragon decks love Invasion of Tarkir.
Scissors is now a Standard deck
>>96049059Too many strong removal spells that get around indestructible to be good, I think.
>>96049059Zoetic Glyph bros we're so back
>>96048984Station isn't necessarily goofy, they just put WAY too many safety rails on it and then made every Station card take way too many counters to become useful. Should've been more Level Up-like where it takes a small amount for the basic effect of a creature, then the bigger effects at bigger counters, at least.
>>96048786I wonder if we're ever getting cheap instant flickers back in Standard. Even Scrollshift rotates soon.
>>96048143I remember I started my adult career right as Covid was happening. At first I thought I’d be buying 2 of everything cuz I could afford it. Now I hardly even play anymore. I just want GP’s back
>>96048143>collecting trashNot really, keep all the woke art niggers buried forever
remember the time wotc wasted "black hole" on some shitty unset card
>>96048445>I know this set is shit but come on.I know this set is shit but I have to defend mtg.
>>96048143What an amazing wall of boxes he has.
>>96048191He'll never use them to do anything, because if he loses or damages a single part of it the "completeness" of the collection is lost and thus the entire point in owning it. He bought them so he can say he has every magic card, and nothing more. They'll stay on that shelf in those boxes in perpetuity unti he dies and his kids sell them off.
The best part is that to maintain the completeness of the collection, he has to get at least 1 copy of every new card that's released from now on. Otherwise he'll only have every magic card released up until 2025, which sounds much less impressive and won't stroke his ego nearly as much.
>>96049314Unfinity in general was a mistake. The idea of a Loading Ready Run unset sounded interesting on paper, but it didn’t contribute anything better than what Unstable already brought to the table, which they probably realized during development and caused them to make half the set eternal-legal just to give commander players a reason to buy it.
>>96049399Having boxes of useless cardboard is still less embarrassing than playing coomander
>>96049454you should probably wait until more than 1/3 of the set is known before trying to build a deck with it
>>96049039I remember Arcavios and Zendikar, then others mostly for other formats, like Ixalan and then there's stuff like Amonkhet that were mostly self sabotage. I get you with Tarkir, I've lost to the card, but I've also lost to Thunderous Velocipede, it hasn't felt like part of the format.
>>96049484thats the WIP Part.
>>96049059>>96049068I almost felt hype to play standard but then I remembered with is the UB era and I will have to play Poderman and FF cards

>>96050059How is he going to replace Zahur or dell presidio?
>>96050101I AM HOME. Putting together more decks
>landstill>contamination>machine head>white weenie>goblins>hypnox elves
I'm thinking of starting a battlebox of proxied Premodern decks, how do these look for a starting selection? Not adding lists, most of these decks exist in the meta anyway
Deadguy Ale
Goblins
Parallax Replenish
Red Sligh
Stiflenought
The Rock
White Weenie
Zombie Spark
Y'll are not ready for this conversation
>>96050130Goblins and Contamination are great decks my dude. You're sure to enjoy them.
White weenie has severely fallen off the last couple of months given how the meta is shaping up. Hell, even Goblins is currently having a rough time as compared to how it was one year ago.
I can't say I care much for the landstill or elves decks though, since they don't really fit my style of play, but that's just keep.
Keep on enjoying fun Magic the Gathering, brother in a proper balanced format like Premodern and say "No, thank you." to the slop JotC dishes out every couple of months.
>>96050171Is there a card like raise the past but for artifacts? Weapons manufacturing triggering on every ETB and not just cast seems nuts.
>>96050161Deadguy Ale, Sligh and The Rock are staple introductory decks to Premodern. They are fairly simple to play and pretty straight-forward, with Sligh being the better out of those 3 in terms of the current meta right now.
Stiflenought and Replenish are two of the best decks in the format (if not the current best) but they actually have a bit of a learning curve, same for Goblins actually, so if you're new to the format, maybe you shouldn't go with those.
Regarding White weenie, much like I said before, it's fallen off a lot recently but it's still a fairly simple deck to play.
Finally, Zombie Spark is just a meme deck really, but fun, I guess.
Hope you enjoy playing the format, my man.
>>96050161>Deadguy Ale>Goblins>Red Sligh>The Rock>White Weenie>Zombie SparkRelatively low cost so good for a box. Weenie is the most expensive in those 6.
>Parallax Replenish>StiflenoughtVery expensive. Better to replace them with more affordable decks like monoblue stasis and landstill.
>>96050193Second sunrise in Mirrodin
>>96050171Isnt this just a meme at best? Where are you getting the artifacts to kill me?
>>96050161There's a guy at my LGS with a non proxied premodern battle box. It originally included sligh, but he removed it and used the pieces for other decks because noone would ever pick it for casual games. If you're just printing the cards it's probably not an issue but I don't imagine it will be a popular choice unless there's a guy who really really likes playing burn. You could try mono R control aka raging glaciers, but it's not exactly a common deck
>>96050118Bart can only sacrifice creatures, while Zahur is limited once per turn. This guy can do it multiple times and works with artifacts too, and often times you just use that unlimited surveil to fill your graveyard for whatever dumb shenanigans you want to do.
>>96050269Sorry Bart also works with artifacts too but yeah, you want the surveil than the pump in decks that want to fill the gy anyway
after review, I'm changing my stance, stations are still garbage, but the support is pushed enough it will break one of them and none of the rest will see play
>>96050207My store has people at every level of skill, so I want the initial 8 to be basically a sampling platter, and Zombie Spark is there as a meme but I want at least one outright meme shitpost deck in that initial 8. I'm open to replacing it though if you have suggestions for decks that are a bit memey but actually good.
>>96050210Cost doesn't matter, these will all be MPC proxies.
>>96050244That's a good point, do you have a suggestion for another aggro deck to proxy in place of Sligh? Burn's not the most fun thing to play but I feel like it should be represented just on the back of nostalgia (Jackal Pup, Cursed Scroll, etc).
>>9605030410 land stompy or maybe suicide black

>>96050414A canker is blooming .Quite beautiful if you ask me.
>>96050507I see that the metal is a helmet now. Thank you for giving a real answer.
>>96050507the helmet is on an old rusted sword so I think it implies it's more of a plant that grows out of or feeds on old metal and the dead rather than a chestburster sort of thing. The black things are probably spores or rust.
>>96048543WOE isn't rotating until next year.
>>96050547Oh yeah it looks more like the helmet is being rusted away, because of the "destroy target artifact"
the fungus is destroying it, and you can see how its already pulling through large sections of the helmet

Thought about getting back into it, particularly EDH, and saw the Mothman precon. Couldn't care less about the Fallout tie in, and I'm not big on green in my UB, but I fuckin' love cryptids, especially Mothman. Figured why not try with a commander I'm a fan of.
Question is, can he be made to work as a decent commander? I'm sure the Rad gimmick isn't in any other set, but does he have to rely on that? I figured it would have to be a mill/token heavy deck.

Assuming it's for the directs there's no other reason to spend $200 on this game at once. Even if you were insane enough to want every card in the set day 1 you'd probably go for the preorders at least.
For every guy posting a screenshot of his 7-0 there's a dozen more compulsively throwing away $100 at a time just to lose to t1 Ragavan in bo1 sealed.

Cosmic cards would be giant cards in an extra deck.
Void only triggered off of artifacts or creatures being sent to the grave or exile.
Lander tokens originally were dfc that transformed into a Artifact land- Settlement that taps for mana based on mana your lands can produce.
Landfall shows up on only 12 cards.
>>96050972Red can't gain life so if the red tap lands gain too much life it could be troublesome. 2 life is almost 3 life which usually be a 1 mana ability.
>>96050996lets say it was FIN draft
your answers on curve would be demon wall, garland, battle menu, cactaur, coral sword on anything, gran pulse ochu, sleep magic, suplex, you're not alone on anything
Do you think a 4/3 is going to end the game on its own? Too easy for you to make a board where it can't attack in without trading
Why aren't more of the normal set spacecrafts like this, where you play them, tap a couple creatures, and get a pretty strong ability? Maybe even crew it later on, if you're feeling risky. Instead, most of them are just a spell-on-a-stick that you can permanently crew for value afterwards. The only two that come close are the "when you attack, do way too much damage to target creature" and the "your tapped legends are indestructible" ones, which are still mostly just really expensive vehicles.

Also defensive combat tricks are desperation plays, not something you want to be doing on turn 3, and cactaur is ridiculously unplayable.

It gives counters to your opponent creatures when it attacks so it will turn a 1/1 into a 2/2. The ward was given so it can attack once at least so it can die by combat or you could just used to station without letting your opponent destroy it.

>>96051668Why did they attach his front leg to the machine instead of making a mechanical leg?
So if I use Tezzeret's last ability on a spaceship with no charge counters, it becomes a 0/0 creature with three +1/+1 counters
if I then "station" the ship (shouldn't it be crew? how do you station a ship?) with enough charge counters to make it a creature, does its base power/toughness change from 0/0 to what's printed on the card? and then it keeps the +1/1 counters on top of that?
Intuitively that seems like how it should work, but something in the back of my brain is saying it actually might not work that way. The Station text just says "at 4 charge counters this becomes a creature", but it already was a creature, so that doesn't even do anything, and the station text doesn't say anything about having its numbers change when it's stationed
This is so wonky

When you station it, it becomes a creature and gains flying
The power/toughness are characteristics of the card that it has even when not a creature. Tezzeret overwrites that P/T and turns it into a 0/0 with 3x +1/+1 counters on it. If you station it, it gains flying, but its still a 0/0 with 3x +1/+1 counters on it, not a 2/2 with 3x +1/+1

>>96051831Ok yeah that makes more sense with the janky esoteric rules interactions I do have knowledge of. Thanks for responding.
Holy shit this is going to confuse so many people who pull and try to use a Tezzeret in a paper sealed or draft though. And he's the flagship character for the set! It's so counterintuitive. At least for people playing on Arena it won't be an issue. Maybe that's all that matters anymore. They can be increasingly nonsensical with rules interactions since Arena will just handle it all and no one plays paper anymore except ultra casually.

>>96051880The worst part is that I don't think ANY spacecraft have a reason for Tezzeret to animate them, you're better off just animating a Mox Jasper that cost 0 mana, or a clue token so you can sacrifice it in response to removal
The only abilities on spacecraft that aren't locked behind their station cost are ETB stuff
You don't get their abilities, and even if you do station it after the fact, you don't get their power/toughness and are still stuck with a 3/3

208.3. A noncreature permanent has no power or toughness, even if it’s a card with a power and toughness printed on it (such as a Vehicle)
Or is this one of those things we're distinguishing between the "card" and the "object the card represents" which has properties somewhat defined by the physical card
You know what? What if in the middle of a game I just reach over with a marker and scratch out the power and toughness on the opponent's card. How does that affect the in-game imaginary object represented by and referring to the physical card?

>>96051936Yes one of those things that distinguishes between attributes of the card and attributes of the object
Power and toughness are 'hidden' on non-creatures until they become creatures. They do not have a power or toughness as far as any in-game interaction cares, but their power/toughness still exist as characteristics of the card and can be modified when they are not creatures, which is treated as though it doesn't exist until it becomes a creature
And some cards actually rely on this nonsensical interaction where the game explicitly says non-creatures don't have a power/toughness, yet they still actually have a power/toughness and you continue to track it and its modifiers because they CAN apply once it becomes a creature.
Veteran motorist gives a vehicle +1/+1 when it crews it. But that trigger resolves before the crew ability resolves and the vehicle becomes a creature. So you're giving +1/+1 to a non-creature artifact, which later becomes a creature.
>208.3. A noncreature permanent has no power or toughness, even if it’s a card with a power and toughness printed on it (such as a Vehicle). A noncreature object not on the battlefield has power or toughness only if it has a power and toughness printed on it.>208.3a If an effect would be created that sets the base power and/or toughness of a noncreature permanent, or otherwise modifies its power and/or toughness, that effect is created even though it doesn’t do anything unless that permanent becomes a creature.

>>96056975>What? Not even close. Controlling your opponent's turn is a thousand times better than just having an extra turn of your own.No. It isn't. 90% of the time it's literally just a Silence (costs W mana) and the other 10% you haven't won the game.

By the time you are using a turn theft effect, your opponent has one or zero cards in hand (a land if anything) and the board is likely small.

Systems Override, which specifically punishes using Spacecraft.
