None. If my faction doesn't get a pity hero, then GW has to give them an actual unit instead. The game just doesn't need more "foot hero that buffs a single unit but costs more than the unit itself".

another priest, but make this one surfing a wave of magma, a 2 chant priest like the runemaster but instead of focusing on support and enhancing the army, he just has raw damage lava hurling prayers. the equivalent of an old bright wizard or something just hucking fireballs. no buffs or support, just 100% offensive damage prayers.

I think they should still lean into the Babylonian styling for the higher level ones while mixing in the โ€œHellish industryโ€ angle into lower ranking ones. So as to show progression and refinement as a Chuardin masters his craft. This could extend to daemon-machines too. Scrappy piecemeal minor machine goes to big beautiful hell engine monstrosity.

The faceplates work for the slayer-equivalents but I wouldn't like them to be the core of the range. I'd like a mix of old big hat babylonian stuff and some more brutal industrial, forgeworld + horns of hashut stuff.
I think one of the fluff teases in white dwarf mentioned mountain ziggurats so we'll probably see at least a little bit of babylonian designs.

I wasn't suggesting that.
I was suggesting that instead of the bug staying attached to the sylvaneth this time is the sylvaneth having its vines intertwined around the bug.
And the bug just rests its own head over the sylvaneth's like a cool symbiotic helmet.
Helps with magic or dunno seeing the unseen, some shit like that as a fluff excuse.

You cannot pick the dragonfly with the most thin ass possible and then say that the obvious dragonfly cavalry doesn't look like dragonflies, and then say they look like grasshoppers, of all things, when they don't have the jumping legs, and the fanned wings typical of them.
And belthanos's steed has the most prominent elytra possible and a big horn, you must be a serial contrarian to think it looks anything other than a coleopter.

you cannot pick the dragonfly with the most thick ass possible and then say that the obviously grasshopper cavalry doesnt look like grasshoppers

nevermind the fact that the sylvaneth mounts do not have top mounted omnidirectional wings like dragonflies, but instead have side mounted single directional wings like a grasshopper. they also do not have dragonfly style legs which all are mounted at the front of the thorax, but rather have legs which are mounted at the front and back of the thorax like grasshoppers, and they lack the incredibly oversized compound 360 degree eyes of a dragonfly, having something much more similar to the small sideways facing eyes of a grasshopper.

they also have a large protective shell which their wings folt under, a feature lacked by dragonflies but present among most grasshoppers and have a large prominent forward jutting lower mandible just like grasshoppers, unlike dragonflies which have a smaller mandible that faces inwards towards their thorax and tail where they capture their prey.

Not really, same strat as any other army. nurgle is just a stat check. Everything has a 5 up ward and spreads disease and is slow. Just pick off the smaller units as you can and if it's a larger model then don't full send against it unless you're absolutely sure you can lift it's fat ass in one go. They don't generally return models or unit outside rally and the guo with daemons, the healing benefits larger models more than smaller. Blight kings are their best tarpit.

No idea I don't play spearhead.
In a vacuum it's better than nothing but the hunter is kinda trash in AoS and TOW. Ironguts are good for both games. The gnoblars are also good for both games, but 12 is too small for TOW (you need 20). You might be able to bulk out the ranks with the spare gnoblars on the Irongut sprues though

nope, there's no rumor for the removal of ogres yet.
the fact they got an actual unit, on top of multiple pity heroes, underworld bands and scenery pieces, makes them sound safer than all other factions that got squatted, but if they don't get updated by the end of the edition, then their situation could be very dire as well.

Beastmen got an entirely new model that was around like a year/year and a half before squatting was announced. I don't think those are great signs of staying. Similar to beastmen the cost of new plastic molds for an entire range refresh is high so they might just decide that they're better of relaunching them in TOW

what is interesting is that most of these issues have since been rectified:
stormcasts have been redesigned to be less tacky and their role is less overbearing
the game got more and more in-depth rules
the setting dialed back on the mythical he-man fantasy hyperboles for something a bit more grounded and a bit more gritty
and over time the information about the setting have been piling up and being interconnected to form areas where maps are actually indicative of places, events and things
the only thing left is that it killed the old world, that's ultimately the first and final sin of aos, and not even completely, because the models and rules side of the old world too have been brought back as their own system

so in practice, it's just the end times, not aos

sex with stormcast women
In seriousness though, I do think SCE as they are now are actually a very good addition to the game. Their 3rd and 4th edition models are (mostly) stellar (2nd was good too, the robes really reduced the sense of fatcast, but the thunderstrike armor is just a great improvement), they have good rules and they serve a nice purpose in the narrative as the main military force of Order, the hand that presses the balancing scales in their favor. I actually really like that the war against chaos is more even in AoS than it was in 40k and whfb, where chaos is/was just always stronger, where in AoS its always felt like order has a fighting chance. It's not just stormcast, dawnbringer crusades and morathi's successes also help with that feeling, but SCE are definitely a big part of it.

The only downside I see is that you need Kairic acolytes to light objectives on fire so you can't go full chaos cities, otherwise this AoR feels brilliant. Probably terrible, but the idea is cool and you can laugh maniacally and claim you win if you burn down all the terrain. Wish more of the AoRs were like this instead of "buy more of this fucking kit".

Everywhere I saw was like "here's how you paint gross dark, dirty boney skeletons!" and I was trying to paint sun-bleached ivory so I had to just do whatever the fuck I wanted and try to figure it out (which honestly is the best anyway)
Then Tomb Kings came out, my Deathrattle Skeleton models were now Old World, but I had already painted all my skeletons for Soulblight so I didn't care

Depends entirely on what flavour of rat you like honestly, if you want more footsloggers you can get a box or two of stormvermin, maybe even get the other spearhead if you really like clanrats. Stormfiends and/or weapons teams if you like shooting, moulder stuff if you like big monsters. Doomflayers I heard are pretty good. Eshin are supposedly getting some love later on in the eshin so might be worth planning for that if you're a fan of them.
You got tons of options as skaven.

Yeah, Blanche art suggests as much alongside every later BL story depicting them as Moonclan which is too weirdly consistent to not be some setting bible attribute not yet translated to miniatures.
The one big push for a named hero, Zoggrat, has him employing an Arachnarok manned by his shamans who are regular Moonclan too.

RGW has them as native Americans driven to war because their land is invaded... They've always had strong tribal themed like the malign portents short showing the importance of the matriarchal arachnarok as a totemic figure.
I don't think having regular Moonclan captures the same theme but of course retards don't read or think about visual design

(That's fine, GW does too) But I'd be sad to see Terrorgheist go but admittedly I imagine it could just get a new sculpt (I'd love if GW was based enough to do another duo sculpt with vampire lord and ghoul king and head swap for ZD but that's never gonna happen in a million years after the new lamer one came out)

As for the terrorgheist, I do think unfortunately the most likely option is that they just refresh the terrorgheist and drop the zombie dragon from the fec range.
Shame that the new zombie dragon didn't come with a generic vampire lord option. I know I can just convert and run as vhordrai, but still.

Current roadmap probably covers the rest of the year. ko and khorne will be here very soon like 5 weeks or less, not a giga brain prediction but some people have gotten advanced copies already.

I could see fec and NH dropping in September and August with chorfs in October. Then nothing besides battleforce until January.

>>96065984
NH is the only death factions that feels fun and resembles 3e. fec is close but it's absolutely disgusting how ushoran and morbhegs carry the army.

Sbgl is just so smooth brained there's nothing exciting about it. I miss deathrattle coming in 30, as well as fun combos that buffed your shit stack units. They caved in the necromancers skull for zero fucking reason and that kinda broke me on wanting to play again.

Obr is even more fucked somehow. the sog update convinced me the writer is sub 100 IQ.

How many wardens does a Lumineth army need?

I ask because I'm proxying Cathay as Lumineth and need to know how many shield dudes vs 2 hander guys to build.

Is 40 wardens and 20 stoneguard/bladelords the right amount? (I'll be using the 2 handed weapon guys as either elite infantry type depending on list)

Currently, not many. People like running Bladelords because they're more wound dense, higher damage, and more durable. Just flat better, really. Not to mention the perfect strike ability.

No problem. For the record, you should make SOME Wardens because who knows when you'd want to splash some into your list. I'd say maybe 20? Definitely look at tourney lists to get an idea of what kind of a range you're aiming for. I've also heard of some Alarith spam lists just rocking people, too.

skavor is not the horned rat
skavor was an ancestor god, while the horned rat is an elemental god
if skavor was involved in the making of the skaven, then he must have long since let them run beyond his control
maybe he was the stranger that arrived at tylos and the creation of the skaven was an act of pure spite rather than an attempt to gain power
