Lore wise Iโd like the Severan Dominate to be expanded on so long as theyโre still out there in the calixis sector refusing chaos and the imperium.
Model wise I think there are more pressing matters like gw is supposed to update the catachans.
Hnnnng reposting muh space Romans again.
Debating about giving the handles of their sheathed bayonets a gray or brown paintjob.
Still cleaning them up and going to give their shoes a gray paintjob.
>>96076501Me too mate. Me too.
Bad times are coming first, though.
First stripping of a resin model was a success. I canโt complain if the details are a little smudged, I paid not even 50 cents for him.
>>960765473d printed resin? What did you use to strip them? Iโve got some resin models I want to strip but Iโm afraid of destroying detail.
>>96076350 (OP)as cool as Exodites would be, I think deathwatch, grey knights, custodes, genestealer cults, votann, emperor's children, and world eaters all should get some extra model love before we introduce more factions to the tabletop. I think all of these armies are using the same 3-5 models kits multiple times to make any sort of functional 2k point list. GSC in particular needs something other than another goddamn monopose character.
for as few kits as they contain, I really would not be opposed to deathwatch and grey knights being soft squatted into a refocused inquisition army.
>>96076547>>96076549nta but i've found that forgeworld resin survives a strip with no issues. 3d print resin can survive an ISO strip if its brief, but superclean eats it alive (actually kinda turns it into gummy bear consistency)
>>96076549I just used isopropyl alcohol. I was reading that on resin you wanna only soak it for the minimum times in the liquid (30min-1hr) and scrub with a toothbrush. The shit prime job the last guy did came off fine, but will have to do some scraping in some of the details. Thereโs apparently better substances to do it with, but those seem quite expensive unless youโre batch stripping.

>The touch of humanity was on the warp, as it was on the materium. Men were everywhere. They infested everything. Only the orks were more numerous. Manโs pollution tainted the warp. Natasรฉ recalled the legends of the times before the War in Heaven, when the warp was pristine, and benevolent. It was not humanityโs fault that it had become what it had become. The beings that had moulded his forefathers and the necrontyr bore responsibility for that, but humanity had agitated it, made it worseโ far, far worse. Of all the many races that had risen and fallen in the long spans of the aeons, humanity held the key to the end, or a new beginning. They were the fulcrum upon which the fate of the universe balanced. Tip them one way, and all would fall; tip them another, and his people, all people, might be saved. This was the role of the farseer, to look ahead,to change things that were yet to be before they flashed through the now tobecome things that were, and therefore immutable. To pick the best path through the braided possibilities of the future. The tenuous, thread-thin path to survival.
>>96076747The sad irony is Chris could've made a deal to sell T-shirts or memorabilia of him/her/idunno and it'd be both profitable and minimal effort.
>>96076764So yes, The Necrontyr were made by the Old ones, who left them alone, for then one of the C'tan to them stumble upon there star, eat it and cause the necrontyr to become what they were, only to then discover the old ones again there makers, who then refused to restore there bodies since they assumed it was because of natural evolution after they left them alone to develop in peace unaware of the C'tan literally eating there sun.
My dudes, its now confirmed that everything is at the fault of the Deceiver and the C'tan for literally everything that could go wrong in 40k. They should all have been killed rather then broken up in that case damn the consequences.
>>96076833That's not what that excerpt says.
>The beings that had moulded his forefathers and the necrontyr bore responsibility for thatThis doesn't say the old ones molded both the eldar and the necrontyr. It says both the old ones and necrontyr bear responsibility for the state of the warp and humanity's predicament.
Hmm...if Orks are more numerous than humans, then how come humanity has more influence on the Warp?
>>96076862orks dont bleed
>>96076502Keep it up. Glad to see you working on them buddy.
>>96076851Shouldn't there be a comma there?
>>96076851Nah, if that were the case, then the sentence wouldn't include both the Eldar species and the necrons within the same sentence as being created under the Old ones. Truthfully its a game of semantics since they only way you can argue this isn't the case, is if there is a missing Comma that should be there, but isn't because that one singular sentence, which anyone, Author or Editorial team, would have read and noticed, didn't somehow decide to not consciously keep it there because they overlooked it for some reason? yeah, it reads like the Necrontyr were made by the old ones from that sentence in every other world but that one which I just outlined.
THIS GENERAL IS SO FUCKING DEAD HOLY SHIT
>>96077028Post your models then

>>96077235Do you like knights. If yes then it's a good choice
Just a quick reminder about the monthly collage.
This month's theme is elite squad. Now, elites are not really a thing anymore but you can find out which units were elites in 9th with a quick look at wahapedia :
https://wahapedia.ru/wh40k9ed/the-rules/playing-this-game/
Still, if you would submit a squad of eldar aspect warriors or some space marine unit or something that look elite and feel elite to you but were heavy support or fast attack in 9th I won't reject it. The most important thing is that it is a squad of your toughest, hardest dudes.
Voting for the next theme will run the last 7 days of the month and end the same time as the submission deadline, midnight the 31st est.
If you have any suggestions for next month's theme feel free to share it here and I'll add it to the poll

>>96077282its fine but it barely even looks like a sergeant. definitely not blinged out enough for a BT character, hell its less blinged out than a sword brethren. too austere and plain for BT. would be fine for like blood angels or ultramarines or something
but like, no cape, only a single purity seal on the whole model, actually no eagle or cross on teh chestplate, just bare metal, pauldrons are only single layer (most of the BT sgts and characters are double layer), skull has no cross on it, belt is completely unadorned with any filigree, rosaries, or reliquiaries whatsoever.

I'm leaning towards a intercessor/heavy intercessor army based around Lieutennants and Apothecary Biologis for lethal hits spam. Utilizing Anvil Siege Force for +1 to wound on all targets if they stood still.
Hitting on 2+ is nice.
Hits with 6's auto wounding is nice with -1AP and either double shots at 1 wound/each or half the shots longer range at 2 wounds/each.
Wounding standing still is 5+ at worst.
Wounding toughness lower is on 2+, with dice so numerous it can wipe a gaunt unit of 20 a turn.
Thinking 30 and 30 of both intercessor types and 1 of each leader to get that critical hits thing a decent chance to hurt bigger stuff. The sticky objective and 2+ save on half the army while standing on objectives against flak fire is nice too.
1500 points at 177 wounds for the army seems fun to me. Very meme-worthy, maybe WACO if I didn't know better. Easy list building because 1 of each unit+1 of each leader type makes exactly 500 points.
Convince me it's not a good idea. I really want a "Holy Bolter" army, where the baseline guns are their basic gun for a reason.
Image related, I have 60 Infernus marines. conversion idea bottom right. Already pinned that I could utilize plastic quarter spheres for hood shields and a plethora of shields to use for the gun flanks. Just a few plastic blocks and tubes away from making the bolt rifle/heavy bolter variants. If you can fire 4 "better than bolt gun" shots a turn, it may as well be held like a heavy bolter right? Even if it just fires 2 shots a turn with almost heavy bolter stats?
My excuse for them holding the guns that way is the ammunition load. All marines have "25 round magazines" and no apparent backup magazines. Maybe I could utilize the heavy weapon appearance to load the ammunition for
>'muh realism'
Early idea stages. Be nice pls.

>>96078026>>96078027I would not say its impossible to have fun in 40k right now, but KT is super fun indeed.
When they run out of new Primaris ideas in another six or seven years, what do you think is going to be their excuse to start remodelling all the existing Space Marines kits again?
>>96078345A second heresy.
>>96078342Its not about GW or sticking it to them, its just a cheap and fast way to get stuff from a sold out box without having to wait for individual releases, and without paying money to assholes who buy such boxes in bulk to profit from it.
>>96078343I am actually enjoying playing 40k a fair bit right now, but I partially attribute that to not having to play against Knights.

>>96078345>>96078349Either that, or a weird time paradox to the age right after the heresy, or to some futuristic 50k age.

>>96078360You dont even have to go that far. Look at the Desolator marines. They can make all sorts of idiotic aspect warrior squads with idiotic weapon options for decades to come.
>>96078360Biker marines are way less popular than you think. They're not like terminators where ever chapter has them and their spin on them. They are strictly white Scars coded and they are second least popular major chapter

Because them coming all back is pretty much a fact for the coming years.
Or they could focus a bit more on the conflict between the Church vs the atheist Gulliman.
>>96077395>those leg details with the facesI've seen those Roman face details before in other media. Do they have a name or are they just faces?

Then, obviously, they could just introduce specialist bikes for Wolves, Templars, Ultramarines etc..

Terminators on bikes it is
>>96078420Which is the perfect opportunity for GW to milk it, by introducing specialist bikes for all sorts of chapters. Salamanders clearly need a bike with heavy flamer, right?
>>96078370>Between who?the fundamentalist imperium of terra, who's willing to abandon the dark side of the galaxy and double down on the imperium's 'issues' to push forward, and the imperium secundus of ultramar led by guilliman, who's accepting radical measures to make mankind survive now
the vast majority of marines go to the imperium secundus, except the ones affiliated with the inquisition, terra and the ecclesiarchy (such as deathwatch, grey knights, custodes, minotaurs, fists and templars)
the imperium secundus doesn't have the cult of mars and instead they get a few tech-progressive separatists, a reinassance of human development, and the backing of some leagues of votann
human troops are normal generic soldiers that still look like cadians for the most part
the imperium secundus has a burgeoning cult of the starchild largely replacing the culture of martyrdom of the normal imperium, who retains almost all of the sisters of battle (a few of them embrace the cult of the starchild and the sensei)

>>96078484Primarchs don't sell as much as standart box sets and normal units because most people think they don't have the painting skills for them. What really sells are CPs, KTs, limited edition faction boxes and box sets with 3 or so cool looking units packed. How many people do you know that own a primarch
>>96078488>revolving around themThe horus heresy (game) revolves around the marines, not the primarchs, always did, always will, which is why they don't care in the slightest about making the primarchs in plastic and will simply keep churning out more generic power armors, emphasis on generic because they will NEVER waste money on plastic kits exclusive to the irrelevant subfactions such as white scars.

>>96076700>>96076747Worked on it.
>>96077493>>96078666There's already mistakes I've noticed in the picture that I plan to correct.
>>96079743A 2k game typically takes about 4-5 hours. That can change drastically of one or both players are new or if you are playing with distractions. You can make games a bit shorter by talking it out after turn three when things go one-sided. Your first few games will go really long because everyone will need to reference rules constantly but eventually you can internalize all that and go much smoother. Some armies naturally take more time to play then others depending on the number of activations and whether they are a multiphase damage army or not.
Typically turns 1 and 2 are about 50% of the total game time because that's when everything "happens" and your forced get cut down to much more manageable sizes on each side. Sometimes it's turns 2 and 3 instead of you play very cagey turn 1.

>>96080009>floating outhouseGentlemen, why don't we get this sort of kino in 40k?
>>96080038Space marines go in diapers, humans build latrines, eldar don't poop, and orks have no shame.
>>96076862Gork and Mork's presence in the warp is immensely understated, I feel. Mostly because it keeps to itself/focuses its attention on the Orks in realspace.
>>96080114>eldar don't poopNah that's wrong, they actually poop crystals
>>96079949I don't want some retard tell me how good it it's I want to see if I like it, if I don't think it's fun why would I want to watch a video about it?
>>96080009>knights never everGood
>>96076378RPG race.
>>96076350 (OP)>What smaller factions or micro-factions would you like to see expanded upon more in lore or models?Horus Heresy should add rules or models for simulating late great crusade campaigns like the Interex and the Olamic Quietude and the Megarachnids.
40k should add Crone World Eldar to the Dark Eldar roster, not because the dark eldar worship slaanesh but because I feel like the Dark City would kidnap degenerated crone worlders and use them for gladiators, mercenaries and daemon-possessed shock troops.
Adding a Lost and the Damned army for Chaos, with certain Chaos-touched aliens like Crone Worlders, Ssylth, Yu-vath alongside human Anarchs, Hereteks and renegade imperial generals would be ideal.
>>96076552World eaters got two models, you didn't even point out how shitty thousand sons are.
>deathwatchNot a real army.
>>96076350 (OP)I donโt want any new factions because weโll just get another tiny faction with no unit variety.
So many of the factions have been locked for years waiting for
>old finecast models to be remade>forge world units to be remade>units heavily mentioned in lore being madeBy the time it rolls around no faction has anything new conceptually apart from marines
>>96080245>World eaters got two models, and they were both more offensive than the birdbots
>hmm everybody hates jakhals and eightbound?>here, your only releases for the next 5 years are even uglier jakhals and a shitty eightbound HQ
>>96080284GW thought that everyone buying eightbound was because they liked the models and not because they were 1 of 3 kits WE had
>>96080284Goremongers are what jakhals should have been. The problem with jakhals is they're just generic cultists. And there's the Dishonoured model that looks like a failed space marine that should have been his own thing.
And the real problem with jakhals and goremongers is that there is no Grand Jakhal so you can run a horde of khorne cultists and bloodletters, while Tsons have a Tzaangor shaman for their mutant detachment.
The slaughterbound is really a failure though. It doesn't even look bigger than eightbound, it has no silhouette that would make you say "he looks like he ate a bloodthirster". No idea what the thinking was there.
Corsairs should be a subfaction with expanded range because they were the Original Eldar and all the later factions came out of the Eldar Pirates from 1988.
Has anyone done a height comparison between the 40k Roboute Guilliman and the Saturnine Praetor?
>>96080347Thanks, anon. Looks like a terminator can proxy a primarch model....
>>96080324>It doesn't even look bigger than eightboundMight not look that way looking at an image on the screen but he is definitely bigger and slightly beefier than a regular eightbound
>t.WE player
>>96080347The pauldron game is crazy.
>>96080353Primarch kids fear the saturine
>>96080332Technically dark elf space troopers are the original Eldar
Why is 40k so much more popular than fantasy? Is old warhammer also good?
>>96080347the absolute size of the lad
>>96080378>60 pence eachWe have to go back
>>96080378Fucking Malekith
Never trust a Naggarothi.
>>96080391Americans love scifi and guns
>>96080038>mfw I paint the floating toilet "exhaust" brown
>>96080399that's a fortune when your 13. nothing has changed. inflation just hit really hard.
>>96080391I feel like 40k has more support since it wasn't dead for 9 years and replaced by 40k planeswalkers with Land Marines and God Emperor Sigmar. Fantasy has a huge fanbase of secondaries because of the lore and the videogames but a smaller playerbase/collectorbase because rank and flank is harder to get into.
Another thing I think reduces the popularity is that there are fewer new releases of this and that subfaction. Cathay is a test to see if such things can be profitable, but I would be down with datasheets for stuff like Norse Dwarf War mammoths and Berzerkers to run a Norse Dwarf subfaction of the Dwarfs (because otherwise they're effectively the same).
Fantasy is cheaper though, ironic since what killed it was that fantasy was more expensive than 40k.
>>96080406Americans love settings where they can be unapologetically racist. And guns.
>>96080038Offbrand TURDIS
>>960804186 years ago I was making 15/hr and would have murdered someone for a full time job making 20/hr. Then I was making 1500 a week in 2020. Now I'm making 20 an hour again and I'm poor as fuck. It's not just inflation but the fun little 'restart your career' every few years when a new recession causes layoffs. The only way to actually get ahead would have been progressive investing into TQQQ in 2020 and 2022 but I didn't know/understand investing well back then so I missed out.
>>9608039960p in 1987 is ยฃ2.16 today
>>96080391Because there are better fantasy settings to flick to. Sci fi is pretty hard to become iconic.
>>96078293I made two more
>>96080483may anon stop ritualposting soon because his prayers have been answered
>>96079589>You donโt get to retire from the guard unless youโre an untouchable hero like Cain or you never fought anything but dirt farming peasants who didnโt want to starve to death because this yearโs tithe was a bit too heavyDepends on whether you see being left behind to form the core of a newly (re-)conquered worldโs PDF as a form of retirement. Personally, Iโd put that on the same level as Cain becoming a Schola Progenium instructor.
>>96080411>paint the floating toilet "exhaust" brownIt's just crazy enough to work, you brilliant bastard.
It's a shame the kit is probably too expensive for me to justify buying it for a meme. I can imagine a custom mission where 3 random units are inflicted with food poisoning at the start of the game, and become the only units able to score on the floating toilet objective.
New player here, what is the difference in the new space wolves between wolf guard with the new doggies, wolf guard terminators, bladeguard veterans, and wulfen? They all seem like they fill the dame kind of niche of being sort of the elite bruiser infantry of the army
>>96080394Guilliman is also smaller than you'd think in person
>>96076350 (OP)WHERE THE FUCK IS IT GW?
>>96080114I feel like orks probably just find a grot to shit on
>>96079341>...why was the lion sleeping, again? He was tired.
>>96080583Just buy it from your recaster of trust.
>>96080583WHERE
THE FUCK
IS THE LORD OF POXES
>>96080512>It's a shame the kit is probably too expensive for me to justify buying it for a meme.that's what recasts are for
>>96080612>me being hopeful: gw is going to surprise us by re-releasing the death guard part of the dark imperium box along with the lord of poxes and that's the wiat>me being realistic: the year of chaos is a joke and space wolves literally got more kits than all of chaos together
Finally finished painting Leontus, I honestly think he isnโt cool enough to be faction lord.
Should have just been some kind of command table diorama or a tank.
>>96080775I think your base rim significantly detracts from your otherwise nice paintjob
>>96077959Here is today's work, tomorrow I'll varnish and add decals.
>>96080798Thanks!
>>96080842Yeah, I gave all my order givers a gold base rim so I can spot them faster but I am seriously doubting the choice
Anyone has the new dawn of fire book?!
>>96080391Star Wars killed itself over a decade ago.
Lord of the Rings raped wfb so hard it even was the premier GW fantasy game at the start of the milenium
>>96080864I did at one point but I already used it as toilet paper to wipe my ass with!
>>96077869Thanks. They are Black Legion, but I painted freehand flames on the kneepad of an earlier model and liked the result, so I decided to make it a binding theme for the Terminators. I think I will call them Doom Walkers, in the same vein as the Sons of Horus had names for their elite sub-formations like the Justaerin.
>>96080863I think you could get away with it if you were really diligent during the basing stage to not get any texture on the base rim. Metallics show texture very easily on large flat surfaces
>>96080009>>96080038But I thought they showed this like 3 weeks ago.
Alan Bligh told me the other week during squash that they're working on a new Badab campaign.
>>96080905>Alan Bligh told me the other week
>>96080697I don't want to spend 30 bucks on a shitty resin recast.
>>96080922infantry character recasts cost like 5 bucks but
>>96080697 is still a retard because no recasters have a model that's not even three months old yet
>>96080921He still visits me sometimes
40komrades, what's our response?
every subhuman who posts
>what's our response???
with some vapid image comparing disparate subjects should be rangebanned and executed
>>96080863the idea of having officers be a different rim color is not a bad idea, its just the bright spangly gold is taking attention away from the rest of the model, the base rim is the brightest part of the mini.
what might work better is having the infantry have black rim bases and then giving the officers a cadian armor green base rim or something. still a muted, darker color so it doesnt take attention away from the mini, but different enough that you can quickly pick out your officers, like the color your ogryns armor and the horse fabric is.
but yeah the rest of the guy looks solid, especially the face.
>>96080956People care too much about scale. They're both cool. Might pick up the HH set at some point and make a death guard army or something.
>>96080956Boxnoughts are better than any new model GW will ever shit out
I want to make some purity seals like these, / the ones sanguinor has.
I tested making my own with greenstuff but even after curing they're still floppy. Do I need to get a wire inside it somehow? WHat's a better method?
>>96080956The difference isn't that big but it is a little sad
>>96080968thatโs actually a great idea, I will do that!
>>96080891I will just sand it down and repaint it
>>96080990boxnaughts were always smaller than they should be, even when they were brand new. the art made them look massive but the minis were always disappointingly small, i remember being underwhelmed by them when i got into the game back in 2001
>>96080982maybe cut some tin foil strips, fold a few times to give em some structure.
>>96080982I know some people like aluminum sheets cut. I would probably mix more yellow into sharper details when mixing your greenstuff. The more blue the more rubbery it'll be after curing and the softer it'll be before curing. Yellow is your hardener and the blue is your base.
>>96080990Man the Saturnines are fucking huge. How do they even operate it?
>>96080994>will just sand it down and repaint itWas going to suggest this as it'll give the best result, but didn't know if you'd be willing to commit. Godspeed anon, it's going to make a world of difference
>>96080995I mean yeah, they're from an era where lots of stuff was under or oversized in the miniatures. Hopefully we either get a new boxnaut eventually like we did terminators, or they repackage them into units of 3
>>96078666Glue dried. I'll see if I can loop back to covering it up if I have enough time today.
>>96081030There's a little man hiding inside each of the limbs operating them manually
>>96081011>>96081015Fantastic ideas, thank you anons.
Picrel is the first try, practicing for an eventual jump chaplain
>>96080995>boxnaughts were always smaller than they should beno, they weren't
>>96081148whatcha gonna use for the actual model
>>96081181eh, maybe not for you. you're used to things being disappointingly small so you probably didnt mind.
>>96081189just because you're easily impressionable and thought they were bigger it doesn't mean they were actually depicted as such
>>96081205just because you're a braindead mongrel contrarian who pretends to know anything about this setting or the scaling within it doesn't mean you actually do
>>96081233Those pictures are consistent with the models, you retard.
>>96080842>>96080857>>96081033Solid advice, looks alot better
>>96081262yeah the tiny dreadnought model can totally fit even a squatty marine in its fist
fuck off mongoloid
>>96077597Gonna try this in the air fryer!
>>96081265it can indeed grab a marine's body like that, yes
can you rotate a cow in your mind?
>>960765871) this is /40kg/
2) legacy units doesn't change units losing wargear
3) we still haven't see what these legacy units look like
>GW does shit>people complain>(you), being a faggot, don't like when people complain about GW>the moment GW tries to damage control you take their word for it at face valueYeah I'm thinking something's for nothing alright, someone even
>>96081286that doesn't match the scale of the image at all
blind retards like (you) shouldn't allowed to post here
>>96081097SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE
>>96081265>fit even a squatty marine in its fistI mean marines that end up in a sarcophagus are not really intact
>Got the sandy primer again
AHHH IT'S RESIN AND MY PAIN STRIPPER TURNS RESIN INTO SHIT
>>96081264Stellar, good stuff anon
>>96081321>PAIN STRIPPERher name is Candi and she beats me with a stick
>>96081321>I'm here to spray paint and turn resin into shit>and I'm all out of paint
>>96081321I will never understand why people that buy $100 GW kits can't convince themselves to get a cheap airbrush setup that solves all the issues you get with rattlecans
>>96081181yes they where but you must also skipped the part in the rules that even say that the models are just abstractions. i bet your so retarded and you think the Close combat phase ist beating and punching only. news flash not even that as it is not a melee but grenade and very short range in full auto mode. they rarely beat and punch eat other or even get that far.
>>96081303>that doesn't match the scale of the imageyes, it does
>>96081273Would suggest swapping to breadcrumbs for air fryer. Toss chicken in dry mix, toss in wet mix and then toss in panko or breadcrumbs before air frying. Cut wet and dry mixture by 75% as you don't need as much.
>>96081353>has to post another offscale image to win his argumentI accept your concession
>>96081342Dunno maybe they don't want to bother with an air compressor and cleanup?
>>96081184not sure on body yet, but I want to take Astorath's jump pack and replace the wings with seals
>>96081321That's why you don't prime when it's humid. Have fun sanding
>>96081362it's not offscale, you're off meds
I'm a bit bored of painting my DG scheme
Should I paint some loyalist terminators next or a dreadnought? I think I have a ballistus laying around somewhere.
>>96081362Nta but I'd be almost impressed by how confident you can spout bullshit if it wasn't what you were spewing
>>96081393Paint the dread. Appease the dreadking
>>96081392>posts the upscaled contemptor>>96081398>n-no YOU'RE wrong(you) tried
>>96076681How did your games go?
>>96077707I bought them when I had the chance but I'm not too eager for a plastic refresh seeing what happened to Krieg (though truthfully I would buy at least one platoon worth of plastic Elysians even if they ruined their signature lasgun and helmet)
>>96076532this. wood elves in space with dinosaurs seems like a no brainer.
>>96077986Itโs a discount box, so the highest I would pay is msrp
>>96076350 (OP)>What smaller factions or micro-factions would you like to see expanded upon more in lore or models? The destiny one
