I'm gonna keep it a buck: I ONLY got into Magic because of the FF crossover and now I'm going through old sets and really falling in love with Innistrad's gothic horror vibe and I've now spent about 150 bucks already on getting older equipment and Sigarda. In fact I like Sigarda's look and effect so much I might buy her 20 buck variant and the Champion of Light version of her to make a humanity's friend deck to go with some of my other FF cards. Funny part is that sometimes this individual has ideas to brew a new deck for commander pulled through a booster, but wants to make deck with cards only available from this set only. My younger brother started with revised. I didn't buy my first pack until right before Zendikar. I think it was Alara Reborn. I finally looked up how to play the game and realized how simple it was and not complicated the whole time like I was lead to believe. Back in the day most people just got the cards to collect them and look at the art. Hardly anyone played the game. It was seen as too nerdy and uncool, but collecting was fine. I even remember people talking about the Black Lotus and how it was so rare and the best card. We were amazed when we saw one for sale at the store for $100. Blew our little minds, because the most expensive cards we had were a couple of revised dual lands selling for $15.

I can't believe how far the game has come since then, and how gay it's now become. Planeswalkers/Eldrazi ruined it IMO.

That game with the Price of Progress salt was really bad, too, since they did 2 matches in the video, and spent the entire time in the second game shittalking and focusing (I want to say Tomer) the Izzet player since he could potentially cast it.
