I've posted them before; it used to be that every now and then I'd create a "poke" thread for /tg/ where you posted what your character says when you click on them enough.

This was before the dark times. These days, one of those threads gets made, most of the posts are just people bitching, mostly some variety of the "Traditional Games?" trolls, or bitching about BioWare, or bitching about Baldur's Gate, or...

Basically /tg/ used to be a lot more fun.

As for wizards & clerics, I have a wand for that, & a small army of Expeditious Messenger Homunculus that can use them. In fact, you can stack metamagic to make wands which casts falling rocks which do untyped damage & can fel drain a large area. Casting just a few of these wands on a group can reduce their levels/HD to zero.

And so we come to the next installment in the tale of the Techpriestess, continued from >>96043909

>The stand-down order went out across the Rogue Trader's fleet, as a single dropship departed the hangars of the 'Pitiless Blade,' streaking towards the station that lay before it. There, in the docking bay, the massively armored skull-faced prow of the lander opened, a ramp extending from its mouth as a single figure descended, resplendent in flowing red silk and gleaming bionics.

>Salafié surveyed the scene before her, where a full company of the Von Nassau-Mendoza dynasty's armsmen stood in formation, blocking her path. Hardly the greeting she had expected, and such insolence! Common soldiers presuming to stand before a peer of the Imperial nobility and a Magos of the Mechanicus! That they were there chiefly to ensure the Priestess stayed well out of sight of any curious merchants was lost on her, and a part of her was sorely tempted to activate the lander's turreted autocannons and sweep the deck clean of these curs.

>It was fortunate then that the Rogue Trader had, perhaps anticipating the peril to his men, arranged for a cadre of combat automata to escort the Priestess from the hangar bay, an entourage that proved far more agreeable to her tastes. And so it was that Salafié was whisked away to the palatial upper levels of the station, where she was reunited with Cassius in person. There, with the automata following close behind, the pair strode through halls of polished marble, making such idle small-talk as nobles will, until the
Rogue Trader was confident that Salafié was indeed still herself.

>At last reaching their destination, the Trader ushered Salafié into his personal office, a chamber alike unto a cathedral in size, its walls clad in carved black granite inlaid with gold and platinum filigree. Locking the door behind them, he turned to the Priestess.

>"I believe you owe me an explanation."

>"Oh, do I?" She smirked.

>Exasperated, the Rogue Trader gestured to a stack of data-slates on his desk. "I have a report here saying that you were killed on an expedition almost two years ago, and now you appear unnanounced in command of a Chaos cruiser! What would you have me believe?"

>"Well, I *was* killed," the Priestess laughed with an unsettling playfulness, "but not in the time or place those spies of yours may have told you. As for my ship, you mustn't call it a Chaos cruiser, Cassius. They merely borrowed it for a time, and they do not crew it now. There is only one other living soul aboard that ship, servitors aside, and she is no more a servant of the Dark Gods than I am."

>That her last phrase left room for two very different meanings was not lost on the Trader.

>"Sala, this is no time for your games. Half my bridge officers would have had you shot as a traitor the moment you set foot on this station. If I am to vouch for you, I must have the truth."

>Salafié sighed and made her way across the chamber, settling on a sofa richly uppholstered with the hide of some exotic xenos reptile. Ah luxury, she thought. There was more truth in it than in all the words in all the finely-bound tomes that lined the walls behind her. "Alright, my dear," she purred, "but this will take a while..."

>Thus the Priestess began, picking up where the Rogue Trader's report had left off, telling of how she had continued on after the rest of the expedition had fallen, until she stumbled upon an ancient Webway portal, whisking her across the galaxy to one of the long-dead worlds of the fallen Eldar empire, where she wandered in madness through daemon-haunted plains of glass amidst spires of twisted bone.

>She told of her "rescue" aboard a ship that (she swore most insistently) she did not realize housed a Chaos warband of the Black Legion. How and when she had made that discovery, Salafié was somewhat coy about, yet she recounted the servitorization of the ship's menials in such bloodcurdling detail that the Lord-Captain did not think to question her on the omission.

>As Cassius sat in appalled silence beside her, the Priestess went on to tell of her betrayal and assassination, how her augmetics had sustained her long enough to set her servitors loose upon the heretic crew, revelling in the slaughter before succumbing to her wounds.

>There followed her resurrection by means nanotechnological, her discovery of the imprisoned Navigatrix, her seduction thereof, and all the tantalizing details of their trysts together. Finally, Salafié told of her ill-fated journey through the Warp (that she carefully omitted any mention of the emissary of Vashtorr must tell the reader much of the temptation she yet felt in that direction).

>And so, the Rogue Trader was left to absorb a story of such mad absurdity that it could only possibly be true, the implications of which left him deeply troubled. For though he had long protected this wayward Priestess from the prying eyes of Imperial authorities, a captured cruiser crewed by the servitorized remains of a Chaos warband was not a thing that could be long concealed. And yet, as he felt a familiar warmth press against him, mechanical claws slowly drawing him into an embrace, already a plan was forming in his mind.
