I would absolutely love for a video game set in Elemental Air that takes advantage of the "subjective directional gravity" of the plane: "down" is the direction you believe it to be. This means that you can walk on walls and ceilings if you want. It also means that if you hold up an item and then let go of it, it just hovers in place: objects don't have minds and so don't think "down" is any direction. If you shoot an arrow or throw a ball it moves in the direction you threw/shot it until air resistance slows and eventually stops it; they don't arc.

It could be a puzzle/platformer and you play as a cute air genasi thief girl armed with a boomerang and a quarterstaff.

>Thread Task
Djinns are native to the Elemental Chaos, but as punishment for their role in the war against the gods, they were scattered after their defeat. Many djinns were imprisoned in worldly objects or had their powers severely curtailed.

Those djinns that are free seek to regain their lost might and reclaim the relics and outposts of their old empires, many of which now lie in the world. Characters who aid a djinn in a quest to reclaim a cloud palace or locate an artifact can expect great reward. Creatures that oppose the ambition of the djinns are certain to earn their eternal enmity.

>Appreciate the effort and creativity shown here. Did you craft this character around the thread task, or was she pre-existing and just fit well for it?
Pre-existing character, fresh write-up and image gen for the dialogue. She was an NPC for a homebrew game I ran that began in a small floating town in Elemental Air. The PCs began at level 7. In the first session while one PC was wandering around the town on her own, she got pick-pocketed by Sultana, losing 3d6 coins (out of ~500)

Thing is that even in the Elemental Planes, most people only tend to have copper or silver coins. The PC only had gold. So a couple seconds after realizing she'd been pick-pocketed, she heard, down an alley, a kid exclaim "holy crap, foreigners are LOADED!"

Sultana was the daughter of what amounted to the leader of the thieves' guild in the city, but was beginning to feel stifled and restless. Her mom used to be a smuggler, she used to travel the planes, she wanted to do that again.

She was kidnapped during a slaver raid on the city (long story), but managed to escape herself and was picked up by the PCs while they were chasing the slavers. Stuck around on their airship. Basically was the cabin girl for their time in Elemental Air.

I liked her a lot. Every now and then I contemplate writing up a short story starring her that begins with her standing at the edge of a floating island and considering jumping off. Which in any other context sounds suicidal, but in the context of Elemental Air is more like standing at the edge of a railroad track waiting for a train to roll by so you can hop on it and start wandering.

There were all made to be the basic lands for an Arabian Nights MtG set I was making. Return to Rabiah. Hence why I ended up making the TT about genies instead.

Happened by chance, sorry. It's been a while but I'm pretty sure the prompt in Bing was something to the effect of,

However I keep getting dog'd with that, which didn't use to happen with her.

There are a few others who come and go from the story. Lately, Cassius the Rogue Trader has been Salafié's co-star, and before that we had Mira the Navigator. Mira will be making an appearance again soon, but I haven't quite decided what to do with her character yet after having her get driven mad by the warp a few chapters ago. I'm torn between writing her as traumatized and vaguely catatonic, or having her become more of an overtly sinister figure.

Anyway, I've been finding it more interesting lately to incorporate multiple characters into my gens, since just doing the techpriestess had gotten a bit too easy and same-y.

Anonymous No.96138841 [Report] >>96138868
Muscular Cleric of Strength and Discipline
Think of a cleric who believes the body is a sacred temple and that cultivating strength is both a spiritual and moral duty. This kind of character would evangelize fitness, discipline, and courage in the name of a divine ideal—salvation through sweat.

Step 1: Choose a Deity (Official or Homebrew Options)
Here are gods you could use or re-flavor:
Kord
Tempus
Ilmater
Annam

Step 2: Choose a Cleric Domain
Best Domain Picks:
War Domain – Classic. You get martial weapons, extra attacks, and the flavor fits well with combat-focused physicality.
Forge Domain – Strength and crafting; very physical. Strong body meets creation.
Tempest Domain – If using Kord, this is thematic. Adds thunder/lightning and raw power.
Order Domain – If you want the "discipline and moral fiber" side to shine.
Strength Domain (Homebrew or UA) – Some homebrew domains are built around Strength directly. Worth checking out if your DM allows.

Character Personality & Beliefs
Here are a few ideas to shape your character’s ethos:
Tenets of Strength: “The weak are to be lifted, not scorned. All should strive toward physical excellence.”
Virtues: Discipline, courage, endurance, humility in strength.
Mission: Spreads the doctrine of self-improvement through physical training. Sees laziness or sloth as a spiritual illness.
Conflict: May struggle with hubris, intolerance of weakness, or with finding value in non-physical traits.

Character Background Suggestions
Acolyte – Classic. Grew up in a temple where strength training was prayer.
Soldier – Veteran of a holy war, now preaches discipline and virtue.
Folk Hero – Maybe you were once a champion wrestler or saved a village by lifting something absurdly heavy.
Hermit – Spent years training alone in the mountains, perfecting both body and soul.

even thought, I will look for other fantasy gods
I always liked Ilmater, except for the whole suffering thing...

Oh no worries dude. Strength gods are really common so when the post said Strength or Athleticism I figured I'd suggest something less commonly referenced.

Gods can sometimes have unexpected aspects to their portfolios, a result of centuries of worship. Poseidon was the god of the sea, but also horses and earthquakes. Zeus is god of the sky, of lightning, king of the gods, but also the god of hospitality. In fiction you've got the Centauri god Mo-Goth, god of the Underworld and protector of front doors.

Catholic saints get in on this too. Saint Nicholas of Myra, the inspiration for Santa Claus, is the patron saint of children and toymakers...and also prostitutes.

In my own setting, Ran is the goddess of the ocean and sailors, but is also the patron goddess of thieves. Also she might be Jewish, or at least her priesthood might be.

>"You were stealing from my temple?"
>>"I thought it was Ran's temple - "
>"Ran doesn't wash the floors! Ran doesn't clean up after the sacrifices!"
>>"Isn't this sacrilege - "
>"Don't you go and change the subject you little chimneysweep!"
>>"Look I - wait, chimneysweep? Oh, the skin...look got hurt -"
>"So you're not even a good chimneysweep."
>>" - and I needed a healing potion!"
>"Oh, so that makes it okay to steal from the Temple of the Sea Goddess?"
>>"I was gonna leave an offering - "
>"Offerings aren't payment! Offerings go to Ran, the potions help pay temple upkeep!"
>>"Fine, then I'll just pay you then!"
>"Damn straight you will! Every last - sweet mother of the Deeps where did you get that much gold?"
>>"I'm...a very good chimneysweep?"
>"I chose the wrong profession. Fine, fine, you bought the potion."
>>"Thank you."
>"You want some cake? Skinny thing like you should eat more."

Anon, please, for your own sake, stop using 4chan. Hermes is Greek Olympian deity – herald of Gods, protector of heralds, travellers, merchants, orators, thieves etc. Winged sandals, winged helmet and staff with copulating snakes (Caduceus). Oh, and occasionally psychopomp. Usually in Greek Mythology if god's got a message for you, it'll be delivered by Hermes. Meanwhile Heracles (known as Hercules in Rome) is son of Zeus and Alcmene, Zeus' great-granddaughter (noice!) was Greek hero and subject of lots of stories from strangling two snakes at wee age of 8 months, through tvelve labours to death via poisoned shirt (no, seriously) and much much more. (Wielded big club and wore impervious lion pelt.) After Heracles thrown himself on funeral pure Zeus decided that only mortal part of his son died and Heracles found himself deified on Olymp.

I posted 5 of my halfling gods a few weeks back, but here's another as an example which I again just straight posted into perchance to see what comes out.

>Yu'um is the colors god of use and consumption depicted in orange and blue. Whenever your inner self urges you to use more glitter, eat more food, hug your loved ones just a little too long, or burn that one more log on the fire, it is Yu'um tempting you. To over indulge in any facet of life is a sin, even if it could be considered a good thing like giving help to a neighbor or complimenting an artists work. Yu'um often finds himself at odds with Dieu, and many classic stories revolve around the counterplay of taking only what you need, and taking what you deserve. Humans have declared him the god of Gluttony and Temperance.

So tell me dude since you obviously know so much given your almost verbatim wikipedia entry copypasta, why is it Hermes and Hercules statues are found as the patron/protector gods in the gymnasiums the greeks and romans used? Yes of course Hermes was a herald for the gods and protected merchants, travelers, and other such things, but he was a god of athletes and training as well.
