As is a sadly common fate for any would-be Silverbacks in the Congo, Stocky’s parents were viciously murdered by bushmeat hunters and he barely managed to scurry away. Why? Who knows. Though unlike his cruel orphaning and facial scarring, Stocky was anything but common. He was far more intelligent, stronger, and more dextrous than his kin, and dedicated his heightened abilities solely to what only seemed right. Revenge.

Before the silver even began to show on his back, Stocky was a local legend that managed the impressive feat of making the Congolese military/mercenaries more superstitious and paranoid than they already were, for any that would enter a specific part of the Congolese forests with hostile intent, would never be seen again.

Eventually one of the mercenaries that he was in the process of killing like all the rest managed to break free of his initial grip and somehow out-grapple him, sending through a tree and firmly into the ground.

“BWAHAHAHA You wanna fight for these forests big guy? Sorry to say but this ain’t the place to do it. To make a real difference, you gotta fight with the big dogs, and not some wuss with a machete screaming about “ohh its Stocky!” before he even enters the forest! Here, I’ll hook ya’ up and maybe even teach ya’ a thing or two.”

Thus, Stocky the Guerilla Gorilla Gorilla, whether he knew it at the time or not, was destined to make his way into the Ultimate Question Tournament.

Eto....... Slow going, but there is progress. Fixed up some things that were bugging me on the mechanical end. Also I have a look for the WIP now. (pic related) I think it looks a lot better than the old attempt. Images in the background are all placeholders though. Simply threw some stuff in so I could get a sense for how the final product would look. (Not looking forward to image hunting.)

Current issue is that I'm finding my raw text is just too bloated to fit in CYOA image format, and I've been rotting while I mull over the issue. It in turn has led to an issue where later pages don't have enough empty space (as I'm trying to cram way too much into not enough space) and I think it's becoming a readability issue.

We also had someone who was romhacking a PMD scene together and another making custom sprites for DE. It's not unheard of but it is uncommon. It would fit him to be a zoner and push his opponent to make mistakes due to the flame.

It does become gimmicky from a gameplay perspective. Closer seems like an option you'd only hit in a combo to make it safe, and awake doesn't feed into his gameplan of wearing down his opponent over the course of the battle.

Tekken makes sense lore wise. You have bears, genetics, and robots fighting alongside regular humans who practice a normal martial art. Anime fighters make more sense gameplay wise since each character can stand out more and have their own mechanics. But then again Tekken 7 introduced meter and guest characters so anything goes for that franchise.

I'm doing a small fight with Nikolaus that I plan to have end in a draw, and then I want to do some smaller scale SoL thing with the other builds. I'm not planning on doing anything with Cao yet (need to build up his presence) but I do plan to have them fight, maybe he could be the old man who recruited Raynald in his bio?

I think Closer is based on the ultimate finisher moves, I just picked it for aura and to give him a fight ender. I think awakening makes sense for a gimmick character to make his dot stronger.

a HGW in a fictional coastal city somewhere near the ruins of a Mayan city. On the surface the city was built to foster tourism like Cancun but in reality it exists solely for the war. Also rather than being overseen by the church it would be a Mayan priest who somehow survived to modern day. I was thinking around 675 for the points with founding family and possibly profane intervention as the only additions. Fangers are fine, don't see why they wouldn't be. I have the vaguest bits of lore for the founding families but I'll be keeping them mostly blank slates since they would all be anon builds.

NTA but grail wars are going to be a bit of a challenge due to population and being forced to pair. City went into a screeching halt due to linear canto structure, while ultimate question hasn't really started and the main means of interaction are weighed down by the setting making it awkward for fighters not to die in combat. Grail wars are climbing up a steeper hill due to the master servant pairing that the scenario locks you into, but I also hope something works to get this place out of its slump.
