I'm translating an interactive to static/image based and it is awful. I'm just wondering how big it is, really. If you look at a map of urban development, you can see that there's basically a sort of 'region' that goes from Boston south all the way to Atlanta and west to around Chicago with a lot of large cities. If you want like a HUGE megacity, that's the area it would take up. If you want just a relatively normal big city, then something coalescing around NYC or LA and not reaching that far is possible. If you want some kind of burgeoning hive wold then you could take up the entire eastern half of NA, for example.

Hell Rebellion has always been so simple to me. Always go for the Elite Group. Never choose any Demons, as Demons are evil creatures born of sin and cannot be trusted.

Faustina De Antes is a powerhouse and hottie.
Azalel loyal right hand man and hottie.
Conquest big ol' powerful war man who can orchestrate all this, and loveable softie type fella.

Fallen Angels are the elite unit of Azalzel. All of them together are an unstoppable squad. Belail's Corruptors are expensive but very much worth it, they can expand my army since it's relatively small now. They work under me at 'base camp' or however we set it up.

Conquest is the general, and he can make best use of the Ghost Division, the heavy military types. Lastly we have Nephilim and Phantom Legion as not fodder exactly since they're still strong, but the 'bulk'. Fodder will be demons once my Corruptors turn them.

Faustina doesn't command anybody directly, she's a jack of all trades, right hand woman etc. She is where she needs to be, and usually that's by my side.

For Tier IV, I consider the original Fallen Angels to be the most powerful and significant. They synergize with Azzie too. It just so happens that I have zero demons on my side and I think I want to keep it that way. Ghost Division is led by Conquest, he can make the most use of
We'll take Rebellious Souls and Nephalim as our fodder.

The only thing I don't know is what the future will hold. I don't think I want to rule Hell. I don't really want to conquer heaven either, unless I learn that it's a shitty place doing shitty things. I can't break out without abandoning my fallen angels. I would love to carry on through the planes but I don't want to leave Earth behind to be devoured.

What is an is not extraneous is up to personal taste. Some people want barebones, only relevant info. Some people want tons of extra info to build the world. That's why I started out by stating that such a request is the product of subjective opinion. It's not about what's better or 'should be' in an objective sense. Said people would, for example, probably like to know more about their school and classmates so they can fantasize about that aspect of the magical girl role too. For the Spirit Guardians, I've already seen some people try to speculate that yours is up to some suspicious maybe not Light approved plot, more information on him and those entities in general would invite more of that lore speculation that some people here love.

To save or alienate your allies? And so on.

You're not taking into account the death toll and the size of the city. The city is huge and luminaries literally die so frequently that other luminaries try not to get attached until you've survived a few months. There's a whole group dedicated to just going *real* slow through things. "There's enough luminaries there's at least one where needed." "The city sprawls across north america."

There might be hundreds, but I think more like a thousand or two is more likely. Especially with how many need to be made all the time, given how many die. So at least the turnover rate is incredible.

It looks good overall, although I do see some typos - the kind of stuff spellcheck would struggle with, like fantasy names (Yharum vs. Yharnum, dark vs. Dark). It also feels a bit . . .Sailor Moon meets Werewolf the Apocalypse, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Might be a bit lore heavy at the end, though.

(I do, however, reserve the right to chuckle whenever someone mentions the name of the Dark spirit of Fire.)

Used to happen all the time in reality. Strikebreaking paid the bills at proto-PMC groups like Pinkerton, Baldwin-Felts, and Burns.

Depends on what you mean by strong. The difference between a Luminary and a normal human is that they've been modified to essentially be magical super soldiers; you could think of it as maxing out their magical potential in combat.

Most corporate practitioners probably wouldn't ever beat a luminary a straight fight, but they can set up defences that could be their match. A ritualists versatility obviously comes at a cost of not being as specialized/taking much longer to cast, but on the other hand they can sustain permanent effects much easier. A warlock is just siphoning power or spells from whatever Dark gods a corporation has access to, so they can be less constricted. The only constant to magic here is that its heavily symbolic, and you that you can assume that any human caster you meet is probably going to be weaker in a straight fight vs an equivalent Luminary.

These aren't inherently corruptive, it's more the source of the power that ends up costing them. If they were doing this using neutral sources of magical energy, or even with less powerful spirits, it wouldn't be nearly as dangerous.

The problem - in my opinion - is that Tok tried to do too much in Magic: the Awakening. Too many settings, too many different power levels. He tried to eat the entire buffet, that's all.

Personally, I'd still like a strong MtG cyoa. I have the original novel - Arena* - and loved daydreaming about the setting. Wizards strutting about with satchels full of spells and tiny mana bundles, dueling each other for money, glory, and the possibility of becoming a House master. Or even chasing the impossible dream - finding the lore and sufficient mana to construct a planeswalking spell and set off across the multiverse as a virtual demigod.
