Yeah, it does throw a bit of a wrench into Alicias lore. But not a unfixable one. Mostly because she's meant to be a sort of cade/side branch of the imperial family. Thinking I'm gonna use this drawback from Universal Drawback Supplement. I don't like the idea of just becoming a person with history, I want to live it.

>Start at the Beginning [+100]: You begin every jump at the birth of your alter-ego for that jump. Your local powers mature as you grow as makes sense for the setting. As for your out of jump powers… they’ll begin manifesting in your toddler years (1% per year until you hit puberty for a standard human, though for races that mature slower, it will be proportional… thus a race that takes 100 years to hit puberty instead of 10 years would mature 1/10th as fast). Once you hit puberty it’ll increase to 6% per year (or proportional time unit). Expect to be back to full strength around the time the jump would normally start though, so this might be slower or faster in some jumps. Your memories of your other selves start out as dreams as you age and become more and more real until they naturally just merge at the moment of jump-start. You have a form of slowly decreasing plot armor as you get closer to the start of things. The more helpless you are, the stronger it is. This applies to all your companions who are imported into the jump with you, giving them +100 CP to be spent however the import rules allow, or only on Perks if they would normally not gain CP. Unimported companions do not gain this, and will join you as soon as your warehouse opens… at the start of the normal jump timeline.

Any reason I shouldn't? I guess being a baby again could suck, but I wouldn't have detailed memories of past lives to compare it to.

I sat on the beach, little decorative umbrella-topped drink in one hand and big ball in the other, in a state of bemused bliss. With everything I had learned about this world, I kept expecting some sort of apocalyptic event to happen despite having a perk specifically to enforce the finality of conflict by beating dudes up. Mainly because I had encountered world with similarly problemativ metaphysics that had fought against said perk in the past simply by conjuring new conflicts.

Random goddesses weren't trying to steal the Holy Grail and declare themselves the Goddess of Summer, I wasn't being isekai'd to some sort of doomed cyberspace in which the indomitable human spirit was also the indifferent cruelty of the universe, and a small dragon idol wasn't breaking space and time to host a concert. It was strange. Despite the formidable conceptual and informational manifestation technodivinity present in this world-rivalling even that of Panhuman History-it was as if my avatar's mere presence was some kind of stabilising lynchpin for the slice of life conditions I found myself in.

By escaping to a blackboxed bunker, jerryrigging another Kaiser Wormhole and storming into my reality, he expected to be able to secure repayment in due time-

Well what would remain would be the "soul"/subjective experience that would go on, and I'd keep bits and pieces of old egos and personas anyway. in our single lives our egos and personas change constantly anyway, you're not really the same person you were as a child in that sense. Your ego and persona are just the behaviors and self image you've accumulated from your experiences and education, and a person is constantly losing memories, making new ones, changing their values and opinions and self image. Like ultimately baby you died and was consumed by older you and this keeps just going on and on, and only the quality of having subjective qualia experience really stays the same. It's not really that different, holding onto a few memories from past you (who is dead) is all you can really hope for as you age.

In the aftermath of Puella Magi Oriko Magica, Madoka has been killed by a shard of Kirika's Witch's body before Madoka could contract, Oriko succeeded in killing Madoka before Madoka contracted but Oriko's Soul Gem is shot by Homura, killing Oriko. Homura has no place and leaves the timeline. Mami Tomoe, Kyouko Sakura and Yuma Chitose are left to later defend Mitakihara against Walpurgisnacht. The non-contracted Sayaka Miki and Hitomi Shizuki are the only witnesses and their accounts are dismissed as hysteria by the authorities, the rest of the school body having been killed by the Witches launched by Kirika and Oriko on the assault on the school.

Misfortune befalls the Kaname family. Yuma Chitose managed to retrieve Madoka Kaname's body before the Witch's labyrinth completely collapse and Kyouko and she anonymously place it in a morgue. The Kaname family have a funeral for a daughter not knowing the reason behind her death. The sight of his older sister's funeral portrait on top of her coffin etches itself into Tatsuya Kaname's eyes.

It gets worse. Walpurgisnacht arrives. Tatsuya is separated from his parents. Then begins the JUMPCHAIN to Kanto.

Kind of depends on your fanwank in regards to mental awareness. Would jumper become aware pretty much directly after their new self's birth similar to Tanya/Rudeus, or would they be afforded the mercy of only gaining awareness around the time a person forms their first memory? Given the way the drawback's worded, it doesn't seem like you'd be able to cheese your way out of it by pulling an Anos Voldigoad and skipping a decade and some change even if your power level was so freakishly high you could just up and peace out like Hao did in Shaman King. Basically, how willing are you to put up with the inconvenience of that form on a regular basis? Or to put it another way: do you have a means of mitigating biological functions that is an absolute effect so it won't be scaled back? Because that's a whole different issue that the plot armor's not really designed to address.

Just an FYI to anyone who doesn't check the bunker, I made a jump for Witch Awakening and it's in uploads if you wanna check it out.

So tried to write this out a little more then usual. Its still not that great I admit but something out is better then something perfect in ones head they say.

The sound of his steps quietly echoed throughout the labyrinthine library. Sounding foreign to novice's ears. As he walked between. His fingers tighten around the leather book. Searching for somewhere to sit for a few hours. He gazes from the occasional silent floating cultivators overhead to gas lamps hanging from the walls to the seemingly endless halls Until he finally found something somewhat familiar. A blue skinned woman, with brilliant orange hair looking over a book surrounded on all sides by its kin.

He lets out a small breath in relief at the sight. Venti approaches, speaking quietly. "Hey there, your... midna right? Do you mind if I sit here a bit? This place is so big. Keeping someone nearby who can't read my mind makes it less..." He pauses trying to find the right word for it.

"Intimidating?" She provides gazing up from her book.
"...Yeah that works" The human sighs grinning. So, mind if I take a seat? I promise to not be a distraction to much."
"Go ahead." She nods to the seat across from the table she was sat at.
"My thanks." Venti sighs in relief sinking down into the chair. Opening his book as he starts to read for the evening.
Midna just nods from across the table, turning back to her own book.

Together the two read for a while. How long venti couldn't say. He still lacked a watch. It felt like it had been a few hours though until midna finally broke the silence with a question. "You're not from the mainland of Hyrule are you?" She questions without looking up.

A moment passes. Awkwardness hanging in the air before it's broken by the twili.
"So...have you been settling in well?"
"As well as a I can I think." he sighs relieved. Taking the way out. Before continuing.
"People are all rather nice here, even if its a little overwhelming. The food is alright, and my bed is comfortable so I can't complain to much. Being surrounded by what may as well be gods to you does take some getting used to though. What about you?"

Another page is flipped between her blue fingers. Midna choosing her next words carefully.
"I'm doing fine, I'm used to such things in my clan, and I've been cultivating since I was a child."

Venti nods along. Not catching the guarded tone in Midna's words.
"Really? Thats pretty amazing then. You must be doing well then with the scriptures. It all probably feels... natural by now. I admit I'm having some difficulty. Trying to perceive this world of dreams or writing upon my own soul is a little esoteric for me to wrap my head around."

Think its safe to say Venti's a cultivator now though. Or at least practicing as one. It's going to be a slow process to befriend midna I think. She's naturally a bit more guarded then Alicia.

Thus we get Sue literally shoving him around with her TK (the narrative excuse is "it pushed her to the brink of death", Reed somehow injuring him with a fucking antenna used like a shiv and Galactus (who has been established to have cosmic senses) almost blundering into a big marking that is the F4's plan to teleport him away. It comes across almost like a rewrite that Galactus manages to spot the trap at the last moment, before the Surfer knocks him through it

It's nowhere near as bad as I was fearing, and most of the issues feel more down to pacing than anything. It's just kind of underwhelming and cliched. Say what you like about the Celestials in Eternals, but they were a thousand times more imposing.

Um. Anyway, to the extent it matters I suppose MCU Galactus is a valid 600 CP use of End of Worlds. Because as I said, despite his poor showings the Celestials thoroughly mog him. But unlike Surtur he can at least fly through space, use cosmic power for things other than breaking planets, and presumably would've eaten the world if left unchecked.

Honestly, I don’t think that’d happen. It’s not just a decade, it’s a decade spent surrounded by people who are using their magic the right way, and reading about people who are also using their magic the right way. By the time you start using magic, you wouldn’t be thinking of it in JRPG terms. In fact, since you wouldn’t have reached the Three Truths of Dreams yet, your memories of your previous life would be fairly faded, you’d know it happened but you’d only remember the highlights.

Thats... a fair assessment. I was running with the idea of midna being more mature then alicia a bit.
I'm just imagining venti looking at her with the dream eye and seeing a hint of some things Midna tries to keep hidden. or putting up walls around to protect. And want to try and help her. Got a bit of a plot idea for her thats a inversion of her twilight princess backstory.

Hmm thats a fair point admittedly. Even just 10 years is a long while. Falling into that metaphorical trap wouldn't happen. Not a bad idea. Living quarters wise I imagine Venti's sharing a room for now as a novice. Thats pretty basic just some beds and a desk. And once he becomes a proper disciple at the start of the second stage he gets his own room proper. That is a nice room though might use that for the place he eventually gets.

True. I remember it being said the greatest strength of divine delusion is that if you know something and can envision how it happens you can do it. But that does require knowing it. So a lot of studying is required. Lots of library time is required and Midna might help with that. Probably drag Alicia into doing a little to despite her being a genius and breezing through a lot of stuff cultivation wise.
Learning a proper flight spell would probably make him excited as hell. Even if its a simple thing in universe and not that useful day to day. It's still one of those fundamental human dreams.

Potentially. Though the point of feeling like a stranger was more him not being a cultivator more so then him not being hylian. And just the sheer newness of it all. Once you get used to things, get into a Rythm each day and make friends I imagine that'd largely change. The ears changing by the time they do would be very much a secondary thing sort of to bookmark that that alienation isn't really a thing he feels anymore.

That was just a possible future and the event explained the life cycle of Planets too which was pretty cool. If you're confused about the conflict there it was mostly that particular instance of humanity being too prideful and petty to let go and let the Archetype become the next Prime Species because it wanted to remain super speshul and shit.

That was less being angry and more using the extra classes too much, which being elements that normally aren't supposed to be used basically caused errors and made the Human Order recognize the Storm Border as alien. Please remember the Human Order itself is not sapient in the way humans individually are. The Ordeal Call was basically reconciling and parsing the extra classes with humanity as far as I can tell.

IE Alter Egos were accepted as people, Avengers were recognized as people unable to move on and mired in misery, Moon Cancers were identified as an obstacle stopping humanity from progressing past a certain point/escaping the Planet in the same way an umbrella stops you from getting soaked in the rain but also blocks the view of the sky (ignoring transparent umbrellas for the sake of the metaphor), and finally Rulers were distinguished as ultimately impartial judges/observers.

Slight correction here: While still defined by their role as judges, Rulers were distinguished as those with absolute convictions over even impartiality. That is why Astraea and Ibuki can both be Rulers, for example. Impartiality as a moral imperative is actually distinguished as the trait of the SHIELDER class which is why Galahad tried to get Mashu to join the Ruler class instead when she was so dedicated to helping Team Chaldea it was corroding her Shielder class qualifications, since as a Shielder you're supposed to impartially defend everyone all the time. Also Ordeal Call was less about "teaching" the Counter Force these things and more about having Chaldea accept their proper use. Paper Moon was meant to remind Chaldea not to be too callous about using Alter Egos due to them being fundamentally fragmented aspects of an existing being, with them earning the right to do so by valuing them as individuals. Id was effectively a shit test informing Guda that Avengers are supposed to be heroes of rage-which he is unqualified to lead due to being a fundamentally nice person, despite having the potential to be the strongest Avenger of them all as the last Master of humanity. The result is the Human Order requisitioning Avengers; what actually happens is vague with the Avengers saying they'll be "going on ahead" and the MC's refusal to give up on them also having them hit they may meet later at the final battle while Chaldea's own Avengers are desummoned and replaced with shadow Servants who can perform their functions but lack their personalities (nevermind the fact that Servant Universe Avengers can stay because Servant Universe physics, you IMMEDIATELY get a new Avenger in OC3, and Marie Alter can also stay with Chaldea as herself just...because). OC3 was about teaching you that the Mooncancer class is effectively a sanctioned form of Beast meant to help humanity avoid the Moon Cancer phenomena.

And OC4 reprimanded you about deviating the Ruler class from it's intended purpose by having the impartial judges side with you too much. The result is similar to the Avengers but instead of being desummoned altogether, all Rulers except goofballs like Jeanne Lily Santa Alter are put in "safe mode" where they effectively experience ego death but can still be commanded in battle. This makes JLSA very sad because she's all alone with no Jeannes now. And on top of everything, even after acknowledging her own sins the archangel Metatron still deems the MC deserving of punishment after everything.

This is why Chaldea is awarded a grade that improves after completing every Ordeal Call, it's the Human Order telling them they're getting better at using Extra classes correctly.

No. Remember, for all her antagonism Lilith was acting in accord with Galahad's wishes. Making Mashu aware of her biases and partiality corroded her SHIELDER qualifications, hence why the shield got heavier and heavier. But Mashu wasn't a Ruler at that point, so the issue Metatron ran into from internalising the Deadly Sins didn't come up. Instead, all that happened was Mashu was pushed to the brink when Metatron vored her, allowing (in theory) the internal Metatron to push Mashu on a journey of self-discovery that would allow her to transition into being a Ruler by forming her own convictions. Where the plan went off the rails was Mashu deciding that she still wanted to remain loyal to CHALDEA instead of judging everyone equally as being a Ruler would demand.

There are gradients of impartiality. A Ruler is impartial in the sense they have the convictions to treat everyone absolutely in accord with their sense of morality (in theory, notwithstanding irregular cases like Metatron herself) but that doesn't prevent them from having individual biases (again, as Metatron proved). A Shielder is supposed to be impartial in a more immediate sense of defending everyone ever (at least that was the part that was spelt out; Galahad neglected to elaborate on the last part).

Does everything really get hugely more powerful than things like JPS being able to destroy a state with the Artemis Shooter, Voban destroying a country with a giant storm, Doni creating his own orbital strike network, or Luo Hao being a Xianxia character?

Yes. That’s exactly correct, and it’s amazing. The jump rightfully doesn’t even bother representing the surpassing power of things like Anubis or Hoshino Terror, because both the game and the story are uninterested on their full capability. The jump doesn’t even try to give you a Kuzunoha-like “exists without existing” perk. The jump doesn’t let you be a doggo, robot, Nameless Priest, or Gematria member. And for the purposes of pure minmaxing, none of it matters. Because the setting revolves around Sensei as much as the Sonichu comics revolve around Chris-chan. Moreso arguably, since it is a more coherently written companionship fantasy.

Huh. I've been toying with the idea of making a dupe ever since I started playing a ~month ago. General idea is three origins with two sub-origins each. Outsider (Sensei/Gematria), Student (Model Student/Delinquent) and Local (Robot/Animal) though I'm not really sure what to put in the high end of the animal line. Plus a set of perks and items for each club.

But it's just something I've been thinking about, doubt I'll actually make it.

I had something along those lines planned for the middle tier of either the raw Local or Animal line, doesn't really compete with the top end of others.
