Agree with >>96216554 but it's possible some general has had a meetup. Actually that's probably more likely to happen than one for the board as a whole.

That cant be possible not even during /tg/'s glory years a meet up was never done? That seems crazy

Nope, but I do attend lots of smaller more niche conventions! Anyone going to Spring Offensive 2026 to push napoleonics (or any wargame) around?

I’ve met people who I know use /tg/. They didn’t know that I use it though. I intend to keep it that way.

Why would I ever want to play with you insufferable twats? People on the /vm/ board game general are generally nicer and have more games under their belt than most /bgg/ers here and I've no interest in 40k. Otherwise you'd have a magic tournament next to the one faggot who cries wolf about every /acg/. Kindly fuck off.

That's because they don't finish their models and the most active posters are crybabies whining about GW.

I had a frostgrave meetup during covid and we all smoked pot in some apartment in Philadelphia and played a few games. We played 1.0 not 2.0 which was just released.

Basically it was advertised here and on reddit and the two guys from 4chan were an antifa larper guy that had a columbine hat, a special ed guy (he was great), and the redditor was a D&D player.

You know, it is kinda funny I've never heard of a /tg/ meetup since we're considered one of the best/safest boards and we get really obsessed with niche games even most gamers wouldn't be willing to try.

I'm an oldhead so I remember trying to drive to a Chanology meetup(ended up having to turn around because we had an ice storm). Also drove 4 hours to get to an /x/ meetup(two girls and I walked around a cemetary and then went to Denny's).

That reminds me when people compared reddit and 4chan meetups.
Reddit always end with this cookie cutter rainbow hair obese white people.
While the 4chan one feels like the some old united colors of benetton ad

Its why its so odd even back before this place degraded I never heard of a /tg/ meet up. However, it explains the prevalence of Quests back in the day everyone here just posts painted minis, and theory crafts rules

I'm generally okay with my life as a nerd but every once in awhile I see an image hinting at some super interesting reality or group of people I could have been part of if I'd tried harder to pass as normie despite being the son of a 50 year old Aspie engineer and it gives me really intense feels.

Never heard of /tg/ being done in a church or public space other than the occasional introductory game aimed at younger players at a public library or game clubs at larger universities being able to book conference rooms in the student union.

In the USA game stores are expected to have a large playing space and host events. And there's a tragedy of the commons aspect where the neckbeards who never leave the store will scare away high-functioning nerds, female players, etc. So there's sort of a hit and run thing going on where you'll visit the game store to buy stuff or recruit a couple players but retreat to your private clique.

dunno about roleplayers but there's (generously) maybe only a couple of dozen wargames posters worth a damn, and they're scattered across the planet
