Rolled 10 (1d20)

Grip Weekend is upon us in the 4chan Summer Cup. The first match of the night, scheduled to start just about now, will have /tg/ fighting for our tournament lives. The Boyz in Blue are set to face off against /mu/ as the first match of the day, with relegation on the line.

See it at pic related and the roll for the Omnissiah's thoughts on our luck.

In soccer, what does Grip Weekend mean?

It's an artefact of our format that you mostly wouldn't see in the physical sport. Because the group stage is played with each team playing three games over the course of two weekends, the second of those has been termed Grip Weekend in the Cup, since it's where promotion and relegation are decided, especially if, like /tg/ this time, you play two of your games on the first weekend and only have one on which everything hinges the following one.

That aside, we took the game 3-2 - we're in the knockouts next Saturday.

With /biz/ taking a clear 5-3 win over /a/, the group is closed, with us taking second - a secure place in the knockouts, but into what will prove a more difficult matchup.

Impressive. Did /tg/ get new management?

Still an autopilot. We'd be happy to take a manager, if anyone is interested, but the Omnissiah has smiled on this autopilot across multiple PESes at this point.
