My Hero Academia Miniatures Game
Is it IP slop? Yes.
Is it Kickstarter slop? Also yes.

But will it potentially lure a bunch of new people to the miniature gaming hobby? I dunno, maybe.

It's cringe. It's too late. Story's over, and its ending was too divisive. Some people may play it, but it's not exactly going to take off.

>Prepainted minis.
So, the painters aren't gonna buy it.
>Preassembled minis.
So, the convertors aren't gonna buy it.
>Custom dice
And anyone just wanting to try out the game without buying the base set, which is gonna be in the 100-200 range, aren't gonna buy it.
>Catalyst Games
They saw that their grimdark setting for BT isn't well liked and panic bought the rights to use MHA, didn't they? Like, an intern said it was super popular and they didn't question them.

Not only that, but everyone knows that anime fans only play DnD.

If you're excited about this, be prepared to buy over 1k of starter sets and hope to god you aren't coping, because there's no way other table top gamers are gonna switch from their main game to this. New hobbists are gonna want to try out the big three, with players and choices of factions, rather than some kickstarter from an anime who's fanbase aren't in good standing with anyone else.

The manga is over. The anime is going to end this year, with barely anything left to show. People already know the ending, and they weren't thrilled by it. It's true that anime exists to help market merchandise, but there's not much left to squeeze out of this series. The spin-off is getting far less attention, but better reception.

Shit, I was looking forward to it until the prepainted thing. I was expecting preassembled because Battletech is already. I get it's good for casuals but at that point just play Heroclix

On second thought, that's just as for the potebtual collectible/modeling aspect though. For actual gameplay I'll be sure to give it a shot if it's ever at a convention I go to.
