More related to duel formats, but I like "fidgeting" with a card/couple of lands to bluff a response. In Yu-Gi-OhI'd do it by fidgeting with the "backrow" (instant speed spells you had to set face down on the board) to bluff interaction. I've repurposed it by visually messing with a couple of lands and fingering a specific card a couple of times.

I will, again, direct people to the fact that WPN stores themselves said they were allocated less FF stock than they were of normal sets. Meanwhile WotC was calling it the best selling set of all time just based on pre-orders. And now it's kicking around Costco at reduced prices.

It was FOMO marketing. They just didn't print as much of it, made unverifiable claims about how well it was selling, and anyone who falls for this is a mark.

Is there any worthwhile way to build this guy? He was my first commander when I started playing EDH, made to counter my friend's Nekusar and I left it as a sort of generic blue artifact deck with a Mana Severance + Charbelcher finisher. The only thing I can think of is going stax with things like Possessed Portal and Uba Mask.

I would argue speed plays a part too. Magic (outside combo slop) tends to be a methodical game. There's a lot of back and forth and in proportion to other games, fewer game actions being taken per turn. Meaning they're more impactful.

Well, yes and no. The social aspect also comes into play. In 60-card you're incentivized to build thee best possible deck at all times because the end all be all is winning a match. Your opponent can't reasonably begrudge you for sweating for bringing the best legacy deck to a legacy tournament, even if the play patterns are miserable.

That could be it. The deck you've been working on all this time has been tuned and worked on all this time to play the way you like it. The others presumably haven't had this amount of attention? When this happens I sometimes commit myself to sticking with a deck I want to work on for a couple of game nights in a row and seeing what I can change to make it play better. the situation you're referring to doesn't have a name that I've heard used, just someone getting a lecture on the text of the card. you can probably say something like "missed the window" and people will get what you mean. for kaalia specifically anything with a "whenever this attacks" trigger is an easy example.
