>Shit copying DnD getting acredited to or blamed on Tolkien
The fact bootleg games with legally distinct tolkien knockoffs inspired all fantasy that people blame on Tolkien is so fucking funny to me

It's as if everybody ripped off and copied heman but blamed conan for all the heman tropes

Well, he did unite the country (except for those two islands), and projected so much power even soviets got worried. All he needed was trustworthy advisor(s) in matters of industry and agriculture that would talk him out of the worst blunders and history would remember him more fondly.

I understand he was a hardcore Stalinist but why exactly did he make the exact same mistakes regarding agriculture too?
Anonymous No.96291401
>>96289747
There was Lysenkoism, a theory that the natural world could follow Communism and equality if it was made too, thus the ways of farming, planting and making food that actually worked was reactionary fascism preventing the spread of global communism, not only to all people's of the world as worker comrade brothers but indeed to all living things plant or animal.

being against any of that makes you an antirevolutionary farright fascist chud btw

Those were blunders depending on where you cut history off. The US had a similar thing in Oklahoma that destroyed the state for decades making okie a synonim of hobo, but you don't see people pretending the US still has food issues caused by the same policies that caused the dust bowl.

>>96289747
The US was making them too around the same time. Mass agriculture wasn't a solved issue at the time.
And you'll see anti mao propaganda jump from not enough food to feed people to enough food for some dudes to start quietly re-selling it which was turned into the current model. No explanation of how a failed system turned into one with excess food before implementing liberal practices.
Anonymous No.96291594
>>96289747
Lysenko basically had Stalin's ear, and was talking about these revolutionary agricultural techniques which were a mix of "plants and animals naturally practice Communism" and "Lamarck was actually right, and Darwin was a secret capitalist." His techniques didn't actually work, but if you were a biologist who performed an experiment that proved they didn't work, that was only proof that you were a wrecker, and possibly even a subversive geneticist. If you were a peasant obeying these instructions and your crop yield was lower than what Lysenko's research said they should be, you were probably hiding your harvest, and the propaganda teams would publish the 'correct' yields anyway. And of course all this was before Mao accepted the agricultural publications coming out of the USSR uncritically. And just like in the USSR, when actual yields were low they assumed peasants were just hiding their harvest

It wasn't luck, Mao was a devious Machiavellian mother fucker, I read a biography on him years ago and it's honestly insane how he rose to power, every other Chinese communist leader fucking hated him, most tried to oust him at some point and he'd outmaneuver them and basically break their spirit so that when the next one tried the ones he'd already beaten were too demoralised to join. When the various communist cells were fighting the nationalist government he basically kept his army out of the fighting, a cell would request aid from him and he'd say they were on the way and would just sit back, after that cell got decimated he'd just absorb whoever was left into his own forces making himself stronger while letting his rivals continually weaken themselves, then during WW2 the nationalist government did almost all the fighting against the Japanese meanwhile Mao just used that time to go around and propogandize in towns and cities about how hard the communists were fighting to protect China just completely taking credit for himself and the communists and by the time WW2 was over the nationalist government was worn out and the army depleted and the communists were at full strength and had convinced most of the people to support them so they just steamrolled the nationalists

China became powerful because it's fucking China, a massive nation placed in a strategically important area with a historical and cultural emphasis on education and access to enough resources to compete in the contemporary. Mao was capable enough, but made a lot of objectively bad decisions in the pursuit of his ideological ends. His big success was making China China again instead of a bunch of warring chaos.

Pffft, my nigger in the ghetto China was literally stuck in the medieval period up until the 1900s. They were as backwards as backwards got and as little as 15 years ago you could find peasants riding literal ramshackle donkey carts in the road right next to Ferraris.
History and "Culture" didn't mean shit, they pursued Han Chinese Nationalism above all else and changed the law to enforce this. It worked and has made China go from backwater to a contending superpower, despite the inevitable coping I'm about to here about how they cannot compare to a country that struggles to beat rice farmers and goat herders outside of the TV box.
