>Thread question:Are there any discontinued AoS models or boxes you wish you'd picked up?
>tq
They did him so dirty.
>>96285187This is what I meant last night. This model was like, 5 years old at most. Why does AOS shuffle out models like they're running a fucking card game? There's no reason to have discontinued this model. He's a perfectly good sculpt that would be right at home either as a Wight King or leading a unit of Barrow Knights.
>>96285213They made him to sell as many leftover grave guards and black knights as possible and then he eas removed because they were changing the design cues.
The good thing is that he's likely to return in tow.
sbgl

๐
>>96285213>>96285241yeah he was basically made to sell old stock, doesn't really match the new design cues.
If vampire counts come back for our friends over in tow we'll prolly see him again.
>>96285187Really shows how shortsighted GW can be
Seeking a PDF of the Beastgrave rulebook. Help PLZ.
>>96285187>>96285400gotta be the model with the fastest turnover rate in a mainline warhammer game. Well, aside from the beastlord and I guess technically the deathrattle skellies.
>This story has a Khinerai leading a Sect and commanding DoS forces in battle against Hedonites
>Still no Khinerai hero option on tabletop
Feels bad, man.
>>96285407>>96285414So if I'm interpreting things correctly here worship of Hashut is not exclusive to a certain group of dwards as it was in fantasy, and it behaves more like a "normal" chaos cult does. I guess that makes more sense within the context of aos, but I don't know how I feel about it.
>>96285187I'm fuckin bummed as hell about this guy, I've been picking away back at my SBGL remnants that I never finished off. (Just did 20 wolves in a few days, pretty fun) The shitty thing is I like this guy more than the one in the new box. And I'm still half tempted to pick up the new box but at the same time shit like that puts a bitter taste in my mouth.
>>96285157 (OP)I think most of new stormcast are an upgrade but I do prefer the old knight azyros. Current one has kind of an odd silhouette. Also no bow option.
>>96285490>20 dire wolvesGood shit anon, how do you run them, what's the idea of the list ?
>>96285639Ah man, the list? Shit dude my roster is a fuckin' mess. But I got Belladama to buff the wolves and basically run a massive inconvenience block into the backline, Chadhukhar with some skellies to run and muddle up the middle while I have a couple of vamp lords run to objectives on the edge and cast. I haven't played these guys in ages but I got a shit ton of stuff (finally getting around to assembling black knights since I realize I have all this chaff but only heroes for the punch) I have Nefffy and Manny but I'm never sure what I wanna do with 'em.
Last time I played these guys I was fresh and brand new, went up against lizardmen and got clubbed to death because I realized skeletons even with the +1 to rend basically just tickled them. Feel free to toss any ideas my way, I got a wide variety of stuff!
>>96285664Which way Aqshian man
>>96285762I dont like brown people, so skullpile it is
>>96284896I... actually like that
am I allowed to like that?
>>96285780I generally enjoy when stormcast gets more weird and out there designs rather than the simpler stuff. Know what would be the sickest shit? A giant stormcast robot filled with all the electro-gheists that wind up being left behind that sort of form one collective identity as a giant murder machine.
Either that or an Avatar of Sigmar type thing
Why do death & destruction have the least number of armies? How can they be increased?
>>96285829Order and Chaos are more broad concepts.
Death is literally just all Nagash's suckers,
And destruction is what exactly? Besides greenskins ogres and giants?
>>96285853to clarify, i think they should have been repurposed as a new destruction army instead of squatted
>>96285829AoS has enough armies desu, we should keep our current armies and just expand those. Like, imagine Hashut's cocksuckers are just Slaves to Darkness instead of another list taking up space
>>96285886that would suck ass because it means we would just get an infantry squad and the melee foot hero, whereas the full HoH line is pretty solid. but i agree that consoldiation is generally a good idea
Pouring torrential rain, still going out to run 14kms for my Goddess.

>>96285796>giant lightning gheist golemgreat idea
>>96285157 (OP)What the fuck, did the Stormcast appear in Fantasy before?
>>96285409In the previous one you will find it, in RUSSIAN.
>>96285971Its not real, was made back when AoS came out as a joke
>>96285905is running good for a feminine figure? I worry about my calves but hrt does soften things
we will make it harkuron sisters, don't forget to wear your chastity cage for morathi!
>>96285829because they contain an overall smaller number of relatively less popular factions, which are bundled together instead of getting fleshed out separately
if greenskins sold drastically better, then the grand alliance would have had 6-7 books
if the factions of order sold more poorly, then the grand alliance would have had 4 books, one for humans, 2 for elves and 1 for dwarfs
>>96285987step one of military recruitment
>>96286017>if greenskins sold drastically betterarent greenskins among the most popular ones?
>>96285413Did these guys last longer? I think they were only available for 2 years.
>>96286038Its an underowrld warband, thats normal for them
>>96285639How have they not given him a new model yet. Is he the last Fatcast still being sold at this point? They could do so much better.
>>96286024They're popular enough to be fleshed into a grand alliance of their own, they're not popular enough to rival chaos, or the enormous group that's order.
By all accounts, elves should be split into their separate grand alliance.
The only reason why everyone who wasn't chaos, undead or green got grouped into one alliance was because GW wanted to sell stormcasts to as many collectors as possible and presented them as friends of all the other factions.
>>96285987Did they learn to write yet or do they still use funny pictures instead of letters?
>>96286046Fatcast wings are so muhc better than the new ones tho
>>96286038This shit makes me wish they'd expand deathrattle more. Give them a skeleton priest or wizard to cast skeleton death magic. Maybe a whole ass mortarch too
>>96286060Imagine the deathrattle AOR but you actually get spellcasters.
>>96286046These are all the stormcast kits still up that were released before the thunderstrike reinvention.
>>96285796I don't think robots fit the aesthetic of stormcasts that well, if they got a golem of some kind I'd argue it should be way closer to a statuesque creation than a mechanical one.
>>96285829Split the Gobbos and split the orcs. Flesh out the existing armies and give ogres (and basic gargants) their remodels. I donโt want my alliance to bigger than that
>>96286098have you seen their wings? They are art-deco robotic in style
>>96286109Gobbos can stay together, ass the wolf fuckers still dont have enough kits to be separate, but IJ and KB have 0 reason to stay together, especially after the bonetards got squated

>>96286098Could just have a giant sigmar statue, call it "Wrath of Sigmar" or something. Could also go with all those stormcast type statues we saw from dominion terrain.
>>96286060Wouldn't Arkhan count as the boney Mortarch? It would be cool to get a Wight who was also a necromancer himself. What's really stopping a Wight King from having been a practicing wizard in life?
>>96286145>It would be cool to get a Wight who was also a necromancer himself. Thatโs for (you), the hobbyist, to do.
Also people really just want obr but for vampires, itโs hilarious. No matter the setting, vampires will overshadow the boners.
>>96286156Army of Renown, the gimmick armys where you're limited to what units you can pick but typically have some bonus or neat thing about them. Soulblight has one where you can only take skeleton units and they gradually get stronger as the game goes on.
>>96285187Never seen this one before
The first season of the Blacktalon series had terrible animation, so how was the second season? Did it improve or stay the same?
>>96286163No you dumb fuck, a wight that can also cast spells
>>96286188Is the 2nd even out?
t. not paying for WH+
>>96286188It's improved compared to the first season, but it still seems low-budget.
>>96286163If I just make a little wizard model with a staff that doesn't give him the Deathrattle keyword and make him viable with the rest of the army though.
>>96286212You should be able to buy keywords then, like wargear.
>>96286110The wings are the one vaguely mechanical element, but stormcasts as a whole are hardly mechanical in theme.
Art deco, sure.
I doubt something visibly mechanical and robotic would fit the faction better than something more arcane and artistic looking.
>>96286038They're sold now
>>96286198The second season, or at least half of it, premiered earlier this year. The rest should premiere later this year or early next year.
If anybody has the entire collection of soulbound, Iโd appreciate it if you dropped it in a mega or something

>>96286569But what you say, of course it has it, but it can't be shown here because of the anti-furry policy.
>>96286317You're amazing bro, thank you so much.
>>96286588Well no I can't post it because of the nipples
>>96286230They're coming back, but not available for a while
>>96286317You're a star anon
>>96285414Show more of the book
>>96286046I saw this one on ebay. To me, it looks better without the wings
>>96286658Lmao he looks comically undersized without his wings. I could see it working on foot but with all those swirls he needs his huge wings to balance the whole design.
>>96286746I think it works because of his huge cape. But yeah, to each their own
Post your bronze armor. Preferably old and battered/corroded bronze.
>>96286657Do you really think he actually took those pictures? Use your common sense anon.
>Steelhelms 1-10
wow, these little guys have so much character, and I'm getting great results with simple techniques!
>Steelhelms 11-20
hell yeah, I'm in the gr0ove now bitches. I could paint a million of these!
>Steelhelms 21-30
I think I might kill myself.
I don't understand how people paint horde armies. I've set myself a goal of finishing this unit this weekend because the idea of still painting Steelhelms come Monday is sickening to me.
>>96286919I really like the washed out green on their shields.
As in regards to horde armies, if it has more details than Stabbs or old skaven slaves, you wont see me ever attempting anything like that
>>96285859Beastmen make sense as Chaos in TOW, but yeah in AoS they make way more sense as Destruction.
>>96286919Is the hammer/mace thing on the right part of the kit or is it a small kitbash ? Looks great.
Like your colourscheme anon, good luck in finishing them up. I believe in you!
>>96286943>>96286950Thanks, y'all
The mace on shoulder is an option of the kit. It's very cool but I only used it twice because it's so different from the rest of the poses, I worried it would stand out if I used it too much
>>96286980They're a really cool little design. From what I've seen in general the best looking weapon options for steelhelms aren't shown off in the boxart. Great colour on the wood by the way, how'd you do that ? Looks very rich.
>>96286943Same for me. I painted ten ardboyz and hated it by the end with how much detail was on it, and mostly cause I knew I had another ten waiting for paint. I know they arenโt exactly โhordeโ per se, but Iโll probably never touch a horde army unless I can do one-three contrasts on the chaff. Maybe guard or Nurgle plaguebearers?
>>96287061Funny that Ardboyz made me think it too, i painted first three, and though "wow this is really fun, i like those models", but by the 10th dude, i just wanted to be fucking done already.
Anyway, thats why i have only played warcry in the last 2 years
>>96285187Im so glad I picked up this guy once I heard he was going away and saw him still in stock.
Odd question but has anyone ever tried to cut away the "decoration" between the blade and the shaft of idk weapons and just have them together normally ? Is it at all viable or is there not enough contact to make them really stick?
Like the weapons overall but those weird decoeations make them look a bit on the fragile side.
>>96287094Those lists that have like 40-60 ardboyz man, I dunno how the owners do it lol
It was really unnecessary to remove the Lord of khorne on Juggernaut for BoK, while also reducing the two deathbringers warscrolls to one universal warscroll ability. I don't want to fucking play StD, why can't BoK have a mounted mortal hero? Even the Khorgorath is still here, and that thing hasn't been useful or available outside of a 1.0 game/box.
I am actually upset at these changes for model availability or whatevers sake.
>>96287233I like that Khorne doesn't have an emphasis on cavalry, but it is unfortunate whenever they get rid of models without upgrading them.
>>96287233It was needed to sell a plastic one in 3 years
>>96287252It's happened before, this stings for me though. This guy has been my general in calvary lists for a couple years, and I guess he's just a champion. It stinks, but I'll live.
>>96287252GW hasn't been able to make the stereotypical Khorne foothorde list viable for a couple editions. However, stinky as this loss of a cavalry hero is, looking over the rest of the book, even the deathbringers change, this might be yhe tome where a true khornate warhorde can shine. So. There is a lot of potential with the battle traits rework.
>>96287253I belive it, but I dont like it. GW at the least, won't get me into world eaters in 40K until I see khorne berserkers on Juggernauts ala skullcrushers.
>>96287233wasnt this guy resin? he's been around forever
What's (you)'re preferred method of painting bone? I'm planning on getting some skeletons going and I haven't painted a whole lot of bone besides the shitty skeletons I did when I first started a few years ago. My intended scheme is old bronze armor and probably a cleaner looking bone. But I'm not opposed to throwing some dirtier bone in one some of them.
Show me your bones,
>>96287426start with brown, and then drybrush bone- white and the white on top
>>96287060shield wood is Loren Forest, athonian camoshade, then a drybrush of Nurgling Green. Real simple. The sculpt on the shields is so good, it takes to shades and drybrushing super well
>>96287426wraithbone base, coat of Skeleton Horde, heavy drybrush of wraithbone again works pretty good. Finish it off with a very light drybrush of Corax White if you're extra
>>96287399Yeah, I think it was an old kit when I got into warhammer around the time AoS began. That being said, this kit doesn't even have a warscroll anymore, it just seems like it was jumping the gun. The khorgorath was sold with 1.0 and these stupid things can't be found outside used lots or one of the original BoK 2.0. You havent been able to legitimately get a khorgorath for years, but the warscroll has been there all this time despite never getting played or used bevause they're just so awkward with how GW classifies them (now, they are finally monsters). But, what really grinds my gears, is that the resin kit of the lord of khorne on Juggernaut calvary hasn't been unavailable online for more than a year, and it's warscroll is just fuckin' GONE.
It's stupid and I hate it and I'll get over it but right now I hate it.
>>96287462didnt they re-released the 1.0 box as a spearhead?
>>96287476No afaik, the spearheads have the common Slaughterpriest. The picrel old aos 1.0 khorne half that later becase an sc-type box had the bloodsecrator and khorgorath, unique to that box at the time. The bloosecrator would go on in another box as well iirc, but the khorgorath would remain unique to that set. However, it was plastic, thus it remained all this time.
>>96287476>>96287526Nta but the one with the khorgorath and khul is available as a box now, goreblade warband. Around 80 euros i think.
>>96287551Khul always looks so cool.
Finally put my faithful of Mamma Miia to prime. Too many errands today.

>>96287725I was gonna comment there's a dearth of Morathi fan art, but really that applies to AoS as a whole.

>>96289246I could see it work, what kinda models do you have ? Taking a wild guess at chorf gameplay they'll probably be pretty slow and static with the possible exception of bull centaurs.
As for dispossessed, there was a little bit of lore hinting at a possible uniting of the various dwarfs under grungni and stuff, so people speculated about them becoming their own thing. However with tow it seems gw is very keen on keeping the two settings/games as seperate as they can be, meaning classic dwarfs are probably off the table as a faction (for now).

>>96289493weird, they look really unfitting but 8 always thought WGA were quite interchangeable
>>96289492Mhyea, the ironbreakers can work as the normal chorf sword infantry, irondrakes as either variant of their ranged Infantry. Belegar is an infernal despot, the runelord a daemonsmith (?) and the engineer an adhen elder. Your clandwarfs can be the spear Infantry, and the thunderers whatever ranged option is left.
Slayers and gyrocopters don't really have easy proxies, though copters can be their equivalent to bull centaurs if you squint hard enough. You'd need 3 though.
It's not perfect but you could make it work.
>turns out my lgs still has an old ogre spearhead

fuck man I never understood fomo buyers but this one is calling me. Warhammer is pretty niche in my area, it's mostly card games and stuff. >>96289611If I catch you or anyone else putting 40 tzaangors on the table and calling it a beastmen army I'm going to shove each one up my ass and shit them out
>>96289628Blame GW, if it's the only way to play Beastmen then that's what we have to do.
Besides, we're the real victims. We're the ones who need to use those awful fucking Tzaangor models.
>>96289634Just play old world like a real beastmen nigga, it's an objectively better game anyway.
AoS been sliding in quality since broken realms
>>96289611The beastman guy at my lgs who really didn't want to switch to rank n flank started playing his beasts as StD.
Nurgle will prolly get pestigors around christmas, so who knows maybe we'll get a white dwarf AoR that puts them together with slaangors and tzaangors
>>96289656>it's an objectively better game anyway.LOL
LMAO, even
>>96289658Tell him a guy on 4chan said is based
Ghosts and ghouls tonight lads, what are we thinking ?
>>96289688Could happen, but I wouldn't rule out that Imperial Knights and/or some boxed games get their preorders announced instead.
>>96289688>it wasn't two-three nighthaunt models on the rumour engines it was just one godammit
>>96289611They have a faction pack and battletomes basically haven't changed anything from them
>>96289799Too be fair he's like 2 dudes stuck togehter judging by the arm count
>>96289799>>96289688This guy was like 4 or 5 different rumor engines by himself
>>96289838I think it was 'just' 3
still bullshit that a lone model would get multiple rumor engines while entire model releases get none
ideally there would be one engine per kit to be released
>>96289611Awaiting some stupid ass army of renown in a year or two that lets you take Tzaangor, pestigor and slaangor models as a pity way to play
>>96289853Yeah, they were sneaky showing two arms in one too
>>96289688>what are we thinking ?That I still find the range of ghosts such a bafflingly mismanaged mess
>>96286282>one mouse found by four cats.RIP
>>96289941Shame hexwraiths didn't get an update, feels like everyone expected them to.
>>96289611Literally just play them as khorne
>>96289656Lmao that would suck to play em there.
>>96289955the lack of non-infantry silhouettes is pretty much the great weakness of the range, so it baffling they didn't bother with it yet
>>96289941>putting different version of the samy unit as separate entries
>>96289986spirit hosts should be in OBR given they're present on so many of their models and don't fit within NH
GW will just squat them because NH bloat though
>>96290021well, yes, they are technically different sculpts that received a different release of sort
>>96289986Yeah it gets discussed frequently here but there's plenty to work with. Haunted armour is a very common suggestion, as are big monstrous spirit amalgamations and various living torture engines like the gallow one (an iron maiden for example)
>>96290026I don't think they don't fit in nh, but they would certainly fit in obr too
>>962900741/3rd of OBR models include them
>>96290058
>>96290088but that doesn't suddenly make them unfitting in nighthaunt
>>96290108No, they don't belong in NH because unlike every single other model in it they lack robes? Bruh c'mon
>>96290114The presence or absence of robes is an overly superficial understanding of what makes a nighthaunt model
They don't need to have robes, they have the same flowy silhouette even without them
The hexwraiths have robes, but they don't fit because they lack that flowy silhouette, meanwhile the horses in the rest of the range do fit despite lacking robes because they're sculpted as flowing
>>96290140Why do they have the NH keyword? It's because NH as we know it didn't exist nor were NH detached from what would be the foundation of OBR
LoN had all the End Times models
>>96290058 and spirit hosts together
Why are they in NH now? An overlooked technicality
>>96290058Spirit Hosts don't fit alongside these, they're ghosts not bone constructs or liches
That's like saying Stormcast should be in Mawtribes because the Tyrant has a helmet on his banner
>>96290168No, it's like saying that gryph hounds don't fit stormcasts because they aren't stormcasts
of course gryph hounds fit alongside stormcast and of course spirit hosts wouldn't look too out of place in ossiarchs as fodder
>>96290237That's not a counterpoint, it's the same point: gryph hounds fit stormcasts and it's absurd to say they don't
in the same way spirit hosts would fit ossiarchs and it's silly to claim they wouldn't
Surely the little ghosts belong in the ghost faction and not the skeleton construct faction where they are used as base decoration
>>96290300They could be in both, you know.
>>96290310Sorry, makes it harder for the bean counters to propely assess the sales of each faction, shared kits are too arcane of a factor to account for per the great minds over at Games Workshop.
>>96290300>Surely spirit host belong in the army that doesn't otherwise feature them than the army that does on a 1/3rd of their models
>>96290320Crypt Horrors/Vargs
Dark Riders
Nagash
>>96290323How many of those models have combat profiles for them or even abilities related to them?
>>96290339Soulmason's spell reflects his manipulation of them on the model but they're otherwise decorative though Nagash used to have weapon profiles for his
>>96290347Nagash is also a Nighthaunt, FEC and Soulblight model
>>96290348Yeah? Doesn't change that they used to had rules which would justify the other decorative ones having them (though they obviously don't)
>>96290348yeah, like kragnos is also in gloomspites
he's present, but nagash doesn't really belong as well as he does in ossiarchs
>>96290339>these parts of a model are only relevant if they have rules!>>96290347>THAT DOESN'T COUNT!
Anyone tried this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYvr_Z64EZI
I have an issue with properly mixing paints on a wet palette so I wonder if this might work better.
>>96285829>Why do death & destruction have the least number of armies?Because they're mostly bundled together in soup tomes.
if you gave kruleboys a separate book from ironjaws and gitmob a separate book from moonclan, then destruction would suddenly appear as having way more factions
Why would i, a proud Ossiarch general, assign a combat role to what's essentually food rations?
Freeguild Marshal doesn't have to wrangle war sausages
How does the scale of the zombie dragon from Archon Studio compare with the new zombie dragon or that dinosaur whatever thing that Neferata/Mannfred/Arkhan ride? Could I reasonably use this as a proxy for either of them?
>>96290400CoS arent exactly overflowing with food, you cant be picky, you know
>>96290400Same reason why you would use food rations as projectiles.
You have them spare and throwing them as disposable fodder does the job, and you can recycle them later.
>>96290400I don't understand why the violent vengeful spirit following them with a dagger is some caspar ass friendly ghost
>>96290400It would probably be the demoted and dejected souls.
Given OBR are all merged souls, the grouping of Spirit Hosts make perfect sense imo. They're those who couldn't merge and are used as fodder
>>96290420he was a Nintendo fan in his former life and he's now condemned to hold a Z-box pyramid in death.
>>96290425OBR aren't merely merged souls, they're powered by fragments of souls specifically cobbled together to get a certain result, so it would make EVEN MORE sense for them to have swathes of identityless spirits lacking various bits and bobs of their souls which the ossiarchs have used to create soldiers.
>>96290437Those are spells not ghosts
>>96290411Good enough answer, I guess. Thank you.
>>96290437Is there a single faction specific spell that doesn't look like dogshit.
>>96290444How many OBR wizards have spirit hosts on their base?
>>96285829they're definitely secondary focused armies
that being said, my experience is people that buy into death usually buy more than one if not all the armies (soulblight/nh especially seems like a lot of shared ownership).
There's far less in common between each order faction than death or destruction. Chaos has some more overlap.
>>96290026I wouldn't mind seeing them in each faction, but OBR could really benefit from them, especially if they're sub 100 points. Sucks donkey balls trying to fill in the last 100 points with the army and they're lacking something like gryph hounds or a chariot like s2d.
They survived this round of squashing in the nighthaunt tome. The whfb Banshee and Reaper were squatted, as well as the Glaivewraith's.
>>96290460We have the guy who traps spirits mid traping a spirit and the guy blending spirits in a magic blender opening the thing previous guy caught.
So they're used by them the same way food is used by ogors
>>96290493Nagash is the god creator of OBR and his use to fight alongside him
>>96290403Archon studio says it's on a 50mm base
So it's overall smaller than GW's dragons, but it's posed much more openly so it's a good enough equal to them.
>>96290519it's going to be a big empty base
>>96290505Nagash is also in every Death army. Stop using him as an argument to categorjze stuff into 1 army
>>96290493>So they're used by them the same way food is usedThey're also using bones the same way food is used, doesn't stop them from having bone soldiers
>>96290475Death is he most unified GA in terms of theme I think, which is no surprise considering everything but ossiarch used to be one army back in fantasy.
Also hold on they squatted glaivewraiths? They actually had something unique going on with the skulls, why the fuck did they do that ?
>>96290497Alright I forgot about this one fair enough. Rip beasts.
>>96288675To be fair, pretty much all of the Stromcasts are forgettable. The only ones that stick out in my mind are the big guys and the one that cam out fairly recently that makes for a really good Chaplain conversion.
>>96290610Ny your retarded logic this is an Ossiarch unit
>>96290593Arkhan had them too retard
>>96290614It sounds like your brain has been turned to mush by years of marinefaggotry.
>>96290611>they squatted glaivewraithsDamn that's gay as fuck. They were one of the first models I ever painted. I keep them on my shelf and they're dusty as fuck. They had at least some unique charm to them despite also being bedsheet ghosts.
>>96290610Did that mega gargant skull peedate mega gargants? damn
>>96290645Yeah, what the fuck
I guess they're just proxies now but I miss the charge buffs
>>96290622If they were wearing ossiarch garments or weren't wearing any garments then yes, basic ass skeleton slaves would be a perfect addition to ossiarchs.
>>96290645always liked those little rascals. I'll have to be on the lookout for some secondhand models.
>>96290685that looks terrible.
>>96290685after all, the best way to show that morteks aren't normal skeletons sculpted by someone who has no idea what a skeleton looks like, is to show them alongside normal skeletons
>>96290858Where is his nose?!
>>96290872They cut it off if you are a bad boner
>>96290685>>96290858We should get a unit of worm down OBR not worthy of repair and trying to earn their position back but not like this
>>96290888>worn down OBR not worthy of repairthat would work too, but I think there's a better narrative to be had in showing ossiarchs as oppressing conventional skeletons, as well as juxtaposing the thick bodies of ossiarchs with the actually thin and frail normal skeletal frames
not that one would necessarily be at the exclusion of the other though, I can imagine a broken down mortek eventually looking not too dissimilar to a thin skeleton
>>96290888>trying to earn their position backApparently that's not a thing that happens in OBR society. I mean as a rule there is no upwards mobility within the castes. Of course every rule might have its exceptions, but that's the way it is. A mortek warrior will never be promoted out of being a mortek warrior. It can only get demoted, being broken down into its base materials of bones and souls, its most valuable elements stripped and recycled into something else, and the remainder recomposited as something lesser than it was. If they have fallen so low that they aren't valued even as materials for recycling, they are Parrha, lower even than slaves and beasts of burden, disregarded as completely worthless to the OBR's works.

Just learned that my closest LGS is real disappointing
>Tiny shopping area
>Literally one shelf of Warhammer stuff
>Only carries Citadel paint
>Shelf organization practically non-existent
I was really hoping for a place that might have decent stock and maybe even have some older stuff that's no longer available.
>>96291112This is certainly a...regiment of renown.
Is there any mention of the army of renowns for them in there that I missed?
I like the cover illustration. Don't really care about Abraxia and I don't have any impression at all of Thursten, but Blackpyre and Ghyran make for a cool setting for Chaos action, and I've been wanting for more Varanguard fiction since Scourge of Fate.
>>96291132Cool. I want all those
>>96291148I mean its cool, but its a pretty lack luster box to buy if you already got the christmas box for fec.
I'd only be interested in this if it was like, $50, maybe $60 tops.

>Any potion peddler or fraudulent alchemist selling miracle tonics across the Mortal Realms is in for a terrible fate once their soul is claimed by Nagash. His cruel justice transforms them into a Lord Vitriolic, their lackadaisical approach to medicine twisted into an obsessive desire to alchemise. >>96291266So their lore has nothing to do with Reikenor's backstory and retard was lying about it in the "leak".
If anything they're just different Harridans that also turn healing into killing

Actually hell don't look too close at the Khorne range right now for your own good

>>96291290>no buzzsaws>no cogs and gears>not abraxia or std
>>96291306>can you point to any such feature in a model exclusive to the slaves to darkness range?Soul Grinder.
>or are you so dumb to think abraxia's mount is a juggernaut of some kind? Are you so dumb as to think that the cover art has to be taken literally, and that it's not possibly pointing to something else in the story?
>>96291312>What's up with the guy anywayDuring broken realms eltharion kicked him off the edge of hysh, which is kind of a big deal because the saturation of magic at the edges of the realms is enough to delete things completely, like being turned to light and scattered around or into scribbles in the veil of reality
He technically has a super-philactery in nagash's throne room, so it's sure he will be fine, in time, but it's been, what, 6 years?
>>96291323>Soul Grinder. Not in the slaves to darkness range, and even if it was, it's not exclusive.

>>96289609Thanks bossman. He was definitely a fun experiment. Theres some things I know could do with improving (mainly the glow on the ground, I feel its a BIT too strong) but I like him quite a lot.

You're the one shitting the bed over seeing gears and tubes as if AoS isn't full of mechanical shit
There is literally a spell that any army can use that summons a bunch of cogs
>>96291345Oh yeah I remember seeing that, good to know eltharion is still kicking ass however many eons later. Arkhan's got a habit of coming back from this stuff, I'm sure he'll be back at some point.
>>96291387>I don't have to respect arbitrarily established criteriaYou were attempting to do just that and failed.
>spell that any army can use that summons a bunch of cogsa spell to represent the lore of metal, that still doesn't end up coupling that with tubes and literal buzzsaws
on a book cover about a character unrelated to said lore, doing shit in ghyran

>>96291491Idk but if you compare it to his old design then yeah, the new one is pretty racist lmfao

>>96291514Damn that's a very different interpretation. Model looks more like the other guy it seen.
>>96291178It's supposed to resemble this imo
>>96291429Might be leading to a model refresh for ol' Arkhan. Maybe they'll finally crack the seal and we'll get giant Arkhan.
>>96291506Gah I gotta get a fuckin' game in, it's been weeks. At least I'll have more stuff painted, might even bring my SBGL (I wanna bring Lauka Vai but she's seems pretty shit unless I bring a Terrorgheist and I was hoping for more of a infantry thing...)
>>96291219Good. Now we can get to good stuff.
>>96291564CoS didn't get their DEI makeover until recently so I guess the novel characters previously rendered in the 15th century German style had to be redesigned.
This being CoS the redesigns were predictably ass.
I'm thinking for /mysudes/' lore, they're like a free city established in Ulgu to bring the light of Sigmar to the land of shadow but like is that good? Is that all I need for lore?
>>96291600I don't want to agree with you because you're brainbroken enough to use the term DEI, but I will say I feel like the Cities of Sigmar models that are guys would look positively lovely with variously styled forms of facial hair.
Also bring back halberds, add a bit more to 'em than just basic bitch mudcore grunts. Give me some more elite infantry/knights.
>>96291637Ye sure, AOS is pretty fast and loose with everything and there's more than enough potential for anything to be anywhere with even the smallest justification! I think that might have also partially been the plot to Underworlds during the Harrowdeep era.
>>96291637What does bringing light of Sigmar mean? Do they just live normal life or are they a crazed cult obsessed with lighting up whatever they can?
Does ever freeguild guy walk around wth a lantern on his helmet?
Is the whole city covered in torches to the point it looks like it's day 24/7?
>>96291657They have a lighthouse that doubles as a laser
>>96289688Ghoul anon here. I'm hugely excited.
>>96291674Pretty cool. Sounds a bit like the Fulminax thing they had in Aqshy, expcept i think that was just a laser tower
>>96291099The whole obr system looks like a huge impurities filter.
With no point to it, because Nagash.
>>96291637Yeah that's a perfectly solid starting ground, you can be as detailed as you want with them. They're /yourdudes/ after all. If you wanted to go deeper the next step would be thinking about how living in ulgu might affect how your guys look on the table (eg. lanterns and shit) and go from there.
>>96291640Arch-knights are begging to be made into a full unit. I would also like to see some halberds/poleaxes as a mid tier Infantry between steelhelms and knights, especially when all the old fantasy stuff leaves the range.
>>96291564>any particular reason for 1st edition thoughIt's the edition I've always played, I've got all the books for it, me and my opponent have a load of models for 1st and it's quick and easy to play so I've really never had a reason to move on to later editions.
>>96291589>she's seems pretty shit unless I bring a Terrorgheist and I was hoping for more of a infantry thing...)If you like her, play 'er. Rule of cool wins out over everything else anon.

>THE PETITION OF THE GELDRAAD
>After much debate over the legality of the Vongrim Guild. Pioneer Captain Albas Meransson of Barak-Mhornar stands before the rest of the Geldraad for three days and nights without rest, arguing the loopholes in the Code that allow the Vongrim's salvaging practice. Many of the Geldraad believe it to be blatant piracy, though several are more broad-minded. Thoroughly tired of Meransson's obstinacy, the council comes to a compromise: the Vongrim can continue their activities unpunished so long as they obey fresh amendments to the Code, but they will never be officially recognised as a legitimate organisation by any sky-port.
You have rights of salvage, but we do not grant you the legal status of guild.
>>96292289Hey more Mhornar stuff
>TREATISE OF SHADOWS>Morathi-Khaine takes offence at Barak-Mhornar as they encroach into Ulgu. They float over her territory of the Umbral Veil, and she decides to drive them out. When illusions fail to trick the honed senses of Mhornar's Aetheric Navigators, she sends dark thunderheads towards the fleet concealing a hundreds-strong army of Khinerai. The dexterous warriors ambush the Mhornar vessels and exact a bloody toll. However, a sudden cannonade from an unexpected quarter slams into the Khainite flank: the city of Misthรฅvn arrives just in time to reinforce the imperilled duardin, who had hastily signed a mutual defence accord with the human city. Though Morathi-Khaine fumes, she is reluctant to risk a two-front war with this prosperous new alliance and recalls her armies. For now.
>>96292289I dislike a lot of the lore of the KO but love the concept and miniatures. Guess it is time to make a more renegade band that only vaguely gives a damn about the Code.

newfag here, what are the chances we get a new darkoath model?
Another question, what are the chances we get chaos mammoths back
for fucks sake scientists are creating real mammoths now
>>96292585StD already ah da book this edition, so unless GW has some named guy planned you have 0% of seeing more in 4e.
I doubt they'd give them a mammoth, partially because woolly animals don't fit the vibe of half-naked people (so a normie elephant is more likely) and partially because, if they do get a behemoth, i doubt it will be a normal animal and not some Chaos mutant
>>96292585>new darkoath modelEventually? I'd say 100%. Probably not anytime soon tho
>chaos mammothsRather unlikely. Some other monster vaguely similar to mammoth maybe, but I feel like Darkoath moved away from Norsca and their raiders from the North theme.
>>96291937No hobbying this weekend, had to finish some work around the house. Good luck with your fyreslayers anon.
>>96292289>geldraadIs there a fluff reason kharadron sometimes use pseudo-dutch instead of the more stereotypically nordic khazalid ? Is it a different language in-universe or what's going on here
>>96292055>>96292535Good shit luminethanon, gor any more work done on your guys ?
>>96292614>Seรฑor VitriรณlicoThe Spanish names always sound funny. I say that with affection.
>>96292614ESLs of /aosg/, how do you say "Nighthaunt: Lord Vitriolic" and "Flesh-Eater Courts: High Falconer Felgryn" in your native tongue?
>>96292618>>96292635>no mammothwell I'm disappointed, I might just buy a non GW mammoth for my shelf
>>96292639>gor any more work done on your guys ?Went fishing yesterday with my buddies so all I got was some rebasing and painting more magenta cloth on my Sentinels (who got murdered). It's gonna be hot this week so probably back to staying inside and paintin
>>96292585>>96292635>>96292744Even if they're not doing a mamoth I would still like to see a tribal conan-esque big centrepiece mount. Maybe an oversized sabretooth or something
>>96292749>went fishing with my buddiesTrue scion of Teclis
>>96292781>Sabertooth mountLike a daemon Sabertooth or a regular giant sized one?
>>96291491it's empowering, like thug culture
he isn't a dumb brute in the novel. I prefer the original, the cool good cop to Toll, but the heart of gold down to earth new Callis isn't bad, especially with how grounded they are in Hammerhal.
Should've been 20 guard, or permitted the summerking regiment to be mercenary outside of GA Death
You'd think they'd throw the new hero in too, a scouting party coming to the aid of others would work better.
>High Falconer
>20 Crypt Guard
>3 Morbheg Knights
>>96292788>daemon sabretooth Are those a thing ? I was thinking basically a feral and bulkier cousing to the sphiranxes, pretty much like the original picrel.
>>96292916Weird how they didn't keep these guys for darkoath like they did the savagers. The fit perfectly.
>>96292916Hardly relvant to the topic rather than forgotten.
Unless you think half-naked people with a lion should also get an mammoth instead of a hot climat beast
>>96291220fec book is definitely something on the level of KO's book
nh book is the same dude who wrote all those 3+ roll rules, d3 2+, and non sensical synergies or layering conditional rolls ontop of conditional rolls ontop of conditional keywords, honestly believe he might have brain damage and is incapable of writing a fun book or a good book, let alone both.
>>96292956cave lions lived in colder regions?
>>96292916I miss when warcry was just niche chaos cults duking it out
>>96292987pre release they said it wouldn't be chaos only so I'm not sure when you thought it was like that
>>96292989Clearly I and many others missed that comment.
Regardless that's still what it was for quite a while so my comment stands.
>>96293000>August 2019Warcry releases
>December 2019Grand Alliance cards release
>July 2019>Stormcast Ep.17 Sam Pearson and WarcryStates that the cards are coming
Cope, you didn't play shit at the time
>>96293024>rules for almost everything from AoS released a few months after NOOOO I THOUGHT IT WAS CHAOS ONLY
>>96293022>Sam PearsonWarcry 3rd edition is going to be competitive trash, isn't it?
>>96293028Started writing about elephants and didn't correct that part
>>96293070There isn't going to be a warcry 3e
>>96292890They already have a for for knights
>>96293178Chorfs are getting Warcry rules so it'd be odd if those were for a dead system overdue for a new edition
>>96293186That's chaos only
>>96293189Chorfs getting warcry rules is also weird because you'd think GW would want to do away with list building in a third edition to sell more bespoke teams like they did with KT.
>>96293215It could be fixed lists like Spearhead that use existing ranges
>had the best codewrights
>had the best aether-khemists
>was the most cosmopolitan
>is now the realms' largest trash heap
Couldn't have happened to a better city.
>>96293223id prefer it if they didnt turn the game into dogshit like killteam
>>96293283Hold up I know those portraits.
>Ragnar Kling Harald>Duggrun KhrungOi it's the same bleeding lads who were in 2e.
>>96293283What am I looking at.
>>96293315Barak-Urbaz going down the proverbial shitter.
>>96293301>literally named Magbeth Is Rum>proposes legal amendments pertaining to alcoholic beverages
>>96293320>Barak-Urbaz, the Market City, is one of the six major sky-ports of the Kharadron Overlords, sailing high in the Realm of Chamon.Oh snap flying cities that's pretty cool. Is it crashing?
>>96293397That's dope. Maybe I should look into AoS more often. Especially the flying shorites.
>>96293369Ever Kharadon are either Flying cities or Flying deathstar like
Barak Urbaz crashed but they're still around more an armada of various fleets and stations now rather than one major flying city
>>96293283Any mention of Dispossessed that you can find by any chance?
just curious
>>96291937Got the faces on my wardens mostly done. Just need to do the final skin highlight and helmet cleanup+gems before I take closeup pics.
>>96293414just that they have been driven from their holds and contact lost
Trying to sculpt some crown of thorns for ghouls, whatโs the best way to go about it?
