NTA but I love how 3D printing radically changed my hobbying from "I can't even own all the units I want for my own army" to "I can have a comprehensive set of minis for multiple factions allowing me to provide the entire complete gaming experience for any intrested parties"
It's not only freed me from the high prices of physical manufacturers and their arbitrary aesthetic design choices (like feminism largely killing attractive female sculpts) but it also freed me from only playing with persons who have an interest in the same specific games I play, being able to demo games out of my own collection without investing a few grand really increases the number of people I can play games with.

Made some outcast mutants out of poxwalkers. The cowboy will make a great leader.

Does anyone have the PDF or a scan or the newest version of the matched play guide for MESBG?
The books seem quite shoddily made so don't want to buy it - but can't find an up to date version available online anywhere

I'll never forgive GW for sabotaging MESBG like that. We had 20 people playing at my LGS after the Pelennor Fields starter came out and now they're all scattered to the winds.

I was hoping they'd do something cool like an all new plastic Last Alliance starter with Rivendell elves led by Gil-Galad taking on Sauron.

Instead we get anime models and "oops, all legendary legions!" lists.

Do we know much about who handles the waste management of Necromunda? I'm just getting into the lore and started kicking around the idea of a gang of spooky garbage-men. Something halfway between the Sweepers from Project Moon and the Dust Men from Infamous.

Is there already a house/playable faction that this falls under the purview of or am I best off reflavoring something to fit, and if so what? My first thought was heavily reflavoring the nomads but maybe there's something better?

I'm going to begin to learn how to play Middle Earth, the book and the box arrive in a week, and I'll be playing Haradrim as I want to paint one or two of the elephants. What am I in for?

It's a VERY easy game to learn. Battles are simple and easily resolved, but you'll find that most things require a 5+ to kill, 6+ if they're typically carrying a shield. So dudes can be hard to chew through, but if you put a hole in someones line, you can really exploit it. Personally, I think the last edition was better than the new edition, so I would recommend going back to it or, if you're the nostalgic type, find the big blue rule book on ebay and play when the game had real sovl. I'm gearing up for a Scout Uruk-Hai list and I'll be playing against Galadhrim, so it should be fun.
Generally speaking, you'll have fun. But if you start chasing meta lists etc then the game gets real boring, real fast.

Only issue is, you have one cavalry hero that's not Legends: Suladan.
You need him to field serpent riders, and guard/riders are your only F4.
I'd recommend getting infantry after you're done with the Mumakil, since before you add cavalry you'll need them as dismounts anyways.

you can ask for more on the 3DP general, but theres a ton. free stuff on thingiverse and cults3d. lots that people will share too.

I see there are some mesbg enthusiasts here, so I figure this is a good opportunity to ask some people who are hopefully better versed in the more obscure details of the lore and could point me in the right direction.
I've been wondering if there were any more definitive or "official" (as in it was approved by the Tolkien estate at least, if not written or drawn by the man himself) descriptions or maybe even illustrations for the Blue Wizards than the vague "not as old as Gandalf and wearing sea-blue robes" in addition to Saruman's reference to all wizards having staves. That seems to be the extend of the information that exists, really. Some other adaption made inferences about them, but the most fleshed out version seems to be from the 1993 RPG. One was represented as a skilled hunter using and elven bow and the other as being able to trap souls, like a TES protagonist. Not sure if that is based on anything of substance though.

The closest I've come to something that must have at least went through some sort of approval process was this image from an item in the Shadow of War videogame. Outside of that I didn't have much luck, even finding illustrations from John Howe or other people commonly associated with Tolkiens work. There are a lot of illustrations, but even if they are referenced on a wiki they are not usually cited with a source or any additional information.

I thought converting and painting some Blue Wizard minis might be a fun modelling project, but I kind of went down a rabbit hole with this one it seems.

Best is an 11s league with some good friends and a championship playoff.

Once GW have put out this anime movie bundle set and Helm, do you think that'll be it for movie tie-in releases? they've announced a new ent in April. Beech...something. Only thing that I heard after the botched Angmar release and the starter set.
Radio silence since then. No idea if they are even gonna release that still. Similar situation as the Hill Trolls. The anime was a flop, re-tooling the game after that ruined a lot of existing army lists and the game is running on stand-by in general it seems.
If the film and starter set had been a huge hit they would probably be pumping out "expert kits" for obscene prices that go out of print immediately. Guess you can't milk the Tolkien fanbase as effectively as the 40k/AoS crowd with new rulebooks every couple of months.

If it wasn't designed that way just to break up the fairly plain jacket all I can think is that it's to give some extra padding if you have a shield or basic pack on your back while riding.

You're typically not fighting to kill it, you're normally trying to achieve objectives around boss monsters. An example would be a homebrewed mission on YouTube which is Aquilons vs Angron and his World Eaters. Killing the world eaters is essential, but once Angron spawns in, the mission shifts towards reaching objective points to escape via teleportation. The Nightbringer will just be a new boss that will have rules written for it.

Yes there are a small number of NEW articles on the NEW team but they are useless as the rules meta of 2020 changes every 4 months or so. You use an article written a few months after the last release and it'll be okay-ish until the next release.
But the old tactics articles are written for a game that didn't change every few months and which had been stable for years to develop that tactics knowledge.
Nothing like that exists for NEW vampires, it can't exist.

No anon is right. I recall a threedieblock interview back when lrb was going into 2016 and they were talking clawpomb, the interviewee made a point that it was only a problem online, but in 6 years of playing ogres on FUMBBL and BB2 he found a strategy to work around that in chaos opponents by giving his first ogre pass and leaning on TTM.
This took 6 years of unchanging rules for a pro level player in online games.
2020 nuvamps have not existed long enough for good strategy writeups to exist for them.

Anyone that plays Gorkamorka know what the advantage of taking a slugga over a shoota is?

Sluggas are pistols that shoot closer but can be used as an additional hand weapon when in CC, granting an additional attack (IF they work / can shoot, according to the FAQ)

Shootas are the longer gun kind of weapon. They have a longer range but cannot be used as an additional hand weapon.

However, if I always want to take a choppa (hand weapon, +1 strength) and knives and knuckles are free (no bonus, but are hand to hand weapons)

Then I see absolutely no advantage or incentive to get a choppa + slugga instead of just a better shoota then switch to Choppa + knife when in CC.

Like the slugga is completely irrelevant.

I'm torn on oops all LL. On the one hand, people tended to want to recreate movie/book scenes anyways, and LL sort of discouraged you from taking just whatever was strongest for your faction. The one part that is a bit sad is how few upgrade choices you have access to in each. The changes to Nazghul was also sad. Overall though it has felt like mostly positive changes.

Nerding the crap out of Rohan lists outside Eomer really hurt though, especially in favor of WotR shlock

Hell if you dude had old wound and couldn't show up his value still counted to the warband rating. Pierin himself defended that retarded rule.
Blood Bowl's inducements did a much better job of balancing different teams.

They've already re released Mordheim via Warcry and all those stand alone boxed sets like Cursed City.

I don't think GW will ever re-release Mordheim. What they're doing is releasing minis for Mordheim, which is working because people are mostly using them for their warbands.

I'm playing a bunch of different games that need 5-10 pages of a pdf rather than a codex. I'm thinking about getting a handful of them printed together as a fake codex. It's like £35, which is about what GW would charge. Any thoughts?

Playing generic Soulblight Gravelords lets you do this with a necromancer/vampire and zombie or skeletons as well. It's gonna need more models from different boxes though but it should be easy enough to proxy

Kill Team as a game entirely promotes competition and waacfagging, as there's little other way to actually play the game without homebrewing since it lacks narrative options, most of the rules are based around chess-like tactics that purely serve the mechanics rather than flavor. Despite the reputation 40k proper has, kill team is the real game that GW pushes as a competitive game, even explicitly having teams rotate out every few years so compfags have to buy new ones.
KT players on average will inherently try to break rulesets and "figure them out", so that is why it looks like they're always trying to cheat. They're bringing over the approach of KT, possibly due to not having played any other types of wargames before

When I like a game enough I'll get an optimized rules document together, usually a fan project like for necromunda or epic, then I'll go looking for a nice piece of art to use as a front cover and have it printed off for more convenience and permanence than just using the pdf's on my phone.

I played my first tabletop game of blood bowl in 15 years tonight dudes. I won 2-1 against a nurgle team after some skaven shenanigans. Was pretty fun

Holy shit, now we have warband rule that require activation. I hope they ditched this dumb ability dice shit and went with traditional unit sheet if they made a new edition. It was created to cater to really retarded players who refuse to read long paragraph and the cost of activation was the way to balance it, making it "competitive". it ended up failing at both : the text got really long, spread out between multiple different tiny sub-faction and the game definitely not balance and no one gave a shit about competitive warcry.
