I think that's because the generation that created the setting is gone and the shitlibs that came after and inflitrated their way in did not get the history of it being a Woke setting passed onto them. They are only able to see that it's protagonist society is something us Rightchads admire for its basedness. Since the tolerant left cannot tolerate basedness, they are trying to do two contradictory approaches. Some of them seek to poz the Imperium, corrupting it with things such as female custodes. Others seek to turn up the emotional manipulation, purposely making the Imperium look worse to try to make people fail to recognize its basedness.
