Unless you really want 5 Maneuvers at Chargen, Martial Adept on a Battlemaster is a Hat on a Hat. As you level and run into bad guys with +1 and higher weapons, Heavy Armor Mastery will be less and less useful.

When you start playing and only have 3 maneuvers known (till level 7) you'll be desperate to be able to do something else every once in a while beyond trip/menacing/riposte. I ended up taking the feat and style so I could actually be flexible. Ambush is really good.

My last party was roguechangeling, Goblin monk and Barbarian rogue.
I used distraction+acrobatics to distract an enemy dragon by dodging his blows on while running on his spine, so you just need some imagination for Martial characters.
