Which cards make for a good investment? Something I can buy for really cheap that will turn into a gold mine later? I'm thinking of the long game here, like 15 or 20 years in the future?

I personally think MTG has the cooler design, but I know WOTC is very autistic and it's not an impossibility that they would scrap the reserved list.

Can't recommend any for long term investment. Counterfeits keep getting better and can devaluate anything that might have been holding value.
Flipping shit you've gotten for free nets some profit, but even that isn't worth the effort unless you can do it in bulk.

What about sealed packs instead of individual cards? Still bad?

Anon I struggle to convey how extremely retarded this is. Just go invest in an equity fund or something instead.

Yeah I have crypto and voo stocks. But I'm trying to diversify.

Slightly better since you can sell them to chaos drafters and gambling addicts, but funny cardboard is never gonna be as profitable as a real investment unless you're a scalper or shop owner.

Idk what voo stocks are but they sound like they're more valuable than playing cards. So I suggest buying more of those.

Sealed packs may hold vaue just enough to keep up with inflation, but don't expect actually making money. The price jumps are usually tied to specific events - recent exmple outside of MtG would be Android Netrunner going out of print which made some packs jump 10x over a weeked because they became limited supply overnight while the demand was still high. Unless you're actively following the news you've got no chance of catching that or predicting what will be the next big hit 10 years down the line.
There might be exceptions for artist-signed cards of known providence, but once again you kinda need to already know who's who.

No cards are good investments. The market is way too variable, and Topps (or whoever) can always fuck it for no reason.

Just buy gold at this point.

Cards specifically, and games in general, are not a good investment. They might pay off, but always less than an actual investment. Go invest into rare metals, land and real estate, or the 500 list or whatever it's called.
